This hotel is about 30 minutes from all the major attractions and about 15 minutes from the airport. This appears to be the convention center for all the major conferences in the area. While we were there, we happened upon a miner's conference. I assume these are the activities that occur out here.
The interior waterfall wasn't functioning but I imagine that it would look pretty cool. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were on the small side. There was more than enough parking and the shuttle service looked like it was in full swing. No major problems checking in.
I just love traveling for work... Get to see new places, meet new people, try new bars, hotels, restaurants, and all on someone else's dime? Ya, ya, maybe if I wasn't single, I could have this same experience on my mate's dime... But doing this for work is much less complicated.
So, I'm Rapid City, SD, teaching at a conference. It should not come as a surprise to me that Yelp has not reached its pinnacle as a marker here. But, another first review for me is always fun. Who knew that the people would be so friendly, down to earth, and that the largest gathering of Harley riders in the nation is about to happen next week bringing in tons of biker dudes early??? I thought I was just going to see a bunch of lumber men in flannel talking like actors from FARGO. But, no. Stereotypes are always wrong, and traveling proves that to me time and time again. Granted, aside from the grief counseling conference I am teaching, we also have an evangelical conference going on. So, I can't tell if I'm suppose to cry, drink, or pray... maybe all three???
My hotel accommodations are decent. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, down pillows, nice view, yummy breakfast via room service. Last night I had a night cap with a friend - Irish coffee. Yummo! Prices are affordable. The meeting spaces are comfortable, good lighting, good air, and good AV.
This is no 5 star resort like the review I did for Marriot in Phoenix, but it works nicely for now.
So, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to someone. Can't give them a 4 star though because they ran out of King Size....... um... BEDS... before my late check in last night. Me no like full beds. So, make sure you ask for late check in and the bed size you want.
Gotta run for now... Mount Rushmore to see!!!1

Plenty of parking... very comfortable beds... pretty clean room... affordable price and about 30 minutes from Mount Rushmore...
couldn't ask for much more out of Rapid City.
