Packed on a Wednesday night.

While visiting Atlanta from Biloxi, MS, we decided to stop at Ru San's because a few weeks before our local paper, the Sun Herald, reviewed the restaurant and highly recommended it.

It was loud and packed, it was definitely an... experience.  When we first walked in we were greeted by the sushi chefs yelling greetings at us, and that pretty much set the tone for the rest of the meal.

The food was cheap and while not the best I've ever had it was acceptable for the price.  Plus the food aside, like I said it's an experience.  There was a birthday party while we were there and the staff came out singing and making noise on noise makers and beating blocks of wood together.  A really fun night.

Oh, Ru San's. The most controversial of all sushi joints. The place you instantly love or hate. The one pro? It's cheap. The cons? Everything else.

Please remind me to just stop coming here. I am giving it two stars only because I know people who swear by it. And because the tempura isn't bad.

Where do I even begin? The cramped dining experience? Or how you made it even worse by seating a huge birthday party all up on our table last visit so our waiter couldn't even get to our table? He was literally shouting at us. And handing us food over our heads. What?

Or maybe it's the actual smelly fried messes you call sushi. Eck. I can't recall what I ordered during my last Ru San's experience but it wasn't memorable now or while I was eating it.

It's generally best to just avoid this place altogether, but my girlfriends say that the one in Athens is much better.

OMG. first of all. it stinks in this restaurant. not just the food..i'll get to that...but i walked into this restaurant and it smelled like bathroom. that was almost enough to make me and my friend turn around and walk back out.  my friend needed to use the bathroom...and she said that it smelled the same as the rest of the restaurant. that's sad.

so having already lost our appetites, we decided to order some sushi...i tried the salmon and california rolls..and then some other roll..maybe tempura shrimp...GOD AWFUL. i mean sorry, but i guess that's just what you get at an asian restaurant where the sushi chefs and staff aren't asian...i'm chinese and i waited tables all through college at a chinese restaurant, and trust me, i wouldn't keep working there if the food was crappy. the rice was...blah. how do u mess up rice?! it was smushy..and the seaweed too...

never again.

I've had better sushi from Publix.  I'm sure a lot of people like this place because it's pretty trendy, but the sushi is not very good at all.  The selection of rolls suck.  I mean, there are rolls I'd never even heard of or have come across ever.  I mean, with as Americanized as they've gone--I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't added a cheeseburger maki roll.  If you want to have fun in a loud trendy place, it's great.  If you are true authentic sushi lover.  Don't bother.

I should preface this review with: "I HATE BUFFETS."

Now that that's out of the way, I can continue. My friend and I came here for a Saturday lunch buffet. Basically, all you can eat for 10 bucks. My friend opted to fill up on fried rice and calamari and other non-sushi item. I just went straight for the actual sushi.

I tried a few of their crazier rolls... the problem is they don't have a sign telling you what you're eating so I could have been eating yellow tail or redfish for all i know. Since it was a buffet, in all likelihood, i was eating imitation crab, which is how most of it tasted.

So after one round of sampling, I went back just for the identifiable sushi: tuna and rice, some spicy roll that was tasty, and their garlic green beans.

I would recommend this place if (1) you are craving sushi but are broke or (2) you want to try a bunch of different kinds of sushi and don't have a terribly discriminating palate.

I think I'd go back to RuSans and order off the actual menu. In fact, my friend has has a 20% off coupon, so I think we're going tonight!

As a general rule I usually avoid Chinese food buffets as they seem to be the source of most food poisoning horror stories. Unfortunately, times are tough and sometimes a $9 lunch is too good to turn down... even if the rest of your afternoon is spent sitting on the toilet holding a trash can. On second thought, it probably isn't worth it - good thing the lunch buffet here is safe and properly prepared.

Overall the food was pretty good, although you couldn't have paid me to believe that the teriyaki chicken was actually chicken. I SWEAR it tasted like pork, although I'd rather not think too much about that. Whatever it was tasted pretty good and didn't make me sick, so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Has anyone else noticed the strange noise that the staff makes when someone walks in the door for lunch? I guess it's the RuSan's version of "welcome to Moe's!"

i eat at rusans like i eat canned ravioli: not something i'm proud of or even admit to, but once or twice a year it happens and then i remember why it's disgusting and why no one should do it.

i hate rusans.  they have the most random, wtf-ed sushi ingredients and often the sushi is warm and service is not the best and on a friday night it's ed hardy and all his douchey friends.

i'd rather eat sushi from Kroger in my car.

Like my rating, this place is A-OK.  I love the fried rice! I like to sprinkle the rice toppings onto it.  They also have a plethora of asian sauces and spices on the table for you.   The service is slow and annoying at times, they forget about you from time to time.  I just want some water you know?  I also tip 20% regardless of slow ass service.  I like the soba noodles, you cannot go wrong with simple items.  However, their crazy creative rolls are just too much for my taste buds.  Unoriginal. Unhealthy. FRIED crap.  RuSan's is a place for lazy people who don't want to drive far to get quality sushi or Japanese food.  You get what you pay for.

Ru San's first impression is noise.  Pop music competed with a large group of diners counting down to a collective sake bomb when we first walked in.  The menu is loud in its own way:  actually consisting of a menu within a menu and options plentiful enough to make your head spin.  However, the prospect of 1 dollar sushi on a budgeted spring break made my heart gleeful.  The service came quickly and our sushi followed about ten minutes later.  We ordered about 30 pieces between 2 people and were given 2 pieces on the house while we were waiting.  The one dollar rolls were very tasty, and had disappeared from our plate in mere moments. I had ceased to notice the noise in the place.

The sushi quality isn't top notch-- there is a lot of rice involved to fill you up, and it isn't packed with high price ingredients.  Not a complaint from me, though, when our bill arrived and we owed less than 7 dollars each.  My favorite was the Rock and Roll, which I think was $1.50.

My personal favorite location. Yes - it's loud! Yes - it's PACKED! Yes - people are yelling crazy indefinable things at the tops of their lungs are are still going unheard! It's like... a sushi restaurant and a night club had a baby that was addicted to crack and techno music! I added crack because... the wait staff has the attention span of a gnat... but hey - at least they bring you your food! The wild awesomeness ensues.

You can basically re-read my review of the other location, since they are mostly identical... the only difference being that I have and do frequently have their lunch sushi buffet. A mad-dash to get fresh sushi as soon as the chefs hand it over - before it can be inhaled by others...

And the price range really depends on what you order. If you order to of their yummy specialty rolls... it's be $$. If you stick to the dollar menu... $. It's all about the choices you make.

I mean... ok. No - if you're looking for a nice, quiet, sushi restaurant to take a first date where you two can talk and get to know one another - obviously, don't come here. This is no fancy schmuck kind of place. It's pure, unadulterated sushi chaos. I like it. You should to. If you don't... no one cares. Go somewhere else. Only awesome people eat here - no losers allowed.

The words "sushi" and "buffet" really shouldn't be uttered in the same sentence. So I was a bit skeptical when fellow Yelper Zack E suggested we meet at RuSan's for the all-you-can-eat sushi buffet lunch on a Saturday. But my fears of bacteria and food poisoning faded away once we were seated at the sushi bar and I got to see the operation first hand.

Basically it's a mad dash during the buffet time, which ends by 2:30 pm on the weekends. The sushi disappears from the buffet tables about as fast as the guys can make it. My mental images of raw fish sitting out in the open for hours while buffet diners slowly pick away at it did not match the scene at RuSan's where it's each man for himself, elbowing, fighting and scratching your way to pile up on the freshly made sushi before it vanishes. The tuna was fresh and tasty, as was the salmon. I didn't get to try the unagi -- it was a popular item and my timing was always off when I hit the buffet. Toss in several piles of assorted maki sushi, a bowl of miso soup and some pickled veggies and I was happy.

They had a few non-sushi items available on the buffet, but they seemed less popular and didn't look too appetizing, so I steered clear. For a $10, all-you-can-eat sushi lunch on Saturday, I was pleasantly surprised. Just be sure you get there before all the college students storm the place and leave you with slim pickin's.

Gotzan.

I hadn't been here since they changed the place-- they knocked out this big wall/divider to make the restaurant look bigger.  It was nice.  My most recent visit was last night and still no complaints (excpet a small lack of eye candy).  Free appetizers at the sushi bar! (I haven't figured this out-- do they do this for everyone all the time?)  We ordered hot sake and it's fun taking shots with the sushi chef, you give him summa your sake and you get summa his... nice exchange.  We got ALOTTA his this time so it was even more awesomer.  I have aboslutely no complaints about the food, I can't believe some people are so disappointed in this place.  The seared salmon nigiri tastes like heaven too.

This place sucks. Their sushi sucks, their non-sushi dishes suck. Everything sucks about this place. I've given this place maybe 3 chances to redeem itself. I think it got worse every time I went there.

It's funny, it looks like a trendy date place for clueless Americans who never tried Asian food. Half the people can probably be seen in http://hotchickswithdo.... The atmosphere is pretty entertaining. You have Asian dudes yelling stuff. I can't think of anything else that's positive about this place.

Yeah, so it sucks. If I die and go to hell, this is the place I would have to eat for eternity.

If you're looking for a spot to get gourmet Sushi go across the street in the Kroger plaza at Yu-Ka Bar Sushi or Lotus whatever its named.

But,

If you're looking for a crazy wide assortment of sushi and Japanese specialties, coupled with a $1 sushi menu then this is you spot. While the $1 menu is limited it had spicy tuna which is one of my favorites.  Their sushi is not great and my girlfriend who only eats veggie sushi complained that their sushi falls apart, and it does but its dirt cheap for their food but $8 for a can of Sapporo sucked.
Overall its worth a try but go in warned its not going to be the greatest place but it can do the trick for a sushi crave.

So, I went to rusan's not really knowing what to expect. Ive lived all over the US and had sushi in at least 5 different states. I knew rusans would cater toward what i call the "americanized crowd" but what I did not expect was that it would just so totally suck at making decent sushi.

Its a sad day when the best roll that you have is (listen closely) a roll with firmly cooked tuna in the middle with cream cheese surrounded by seaweed and then rice which is then all made into a roll and deep fried. NOthing liek real sushi or even a real roll. It tasted more like fish flavored cream cheese and crunchy mush. I mean i guess some people might like that, eating deep fried sushi rolls, but i certainly am not one of them. While there i had a total of 12 different types of sushi and rolls (at least). i had 5 of the expensive types (most of which were friend in some sense) and 7 of 3 for a dollar types. What stood out to me wasnt a single food which was good. It was how bad most of them were. One of them was something (I couldnt really tell) covered with literally a tablespoon of Vietnamese hot sauce. To be honest, the most flavorful of the cheaper 3 for a dollar rolls happened to be the salad ones (such as the albacore salad roll etc). The reason for that is simple.

Rusans puts a massive amount of rice in the rolls and sushi and skimps on meat.

AND i also had 4 of the hot dishes, the seafood stir fry teriyaki, the chicken sir fry teriyaki, the fried calimari (aka squid) and the sashimi sushi rice. None of them were good. The squid was fried properly (i mean ive literally nvr had bad fried squid) so thats that. The stirfry was way to expensive for the amount of meat they gave you. I mean they give you a large amount of food, but most of it is filler like rice (in the case of the sashimi suhi bowl) and veges (in the case of the stir fry's). The Miso soup was WAY to salty and had a little bit of noodles in it, almost like an afterthought. I was almost ashamed that this was my indian friends first experience with japanese food.

Oh and while im talking about the hot dishes, how can you serve fake crab in the sashimi bowl. like WTH.

I guess the only thing that was good was the saki bomb. BUT even then, they rip you off so hard. 4 dollars for half a beer and a shot of sake? come on. Oh right, and since it was my friends bday, i also got to sample their fried ice cream. Bleh. crust was too thick, wasnt enough ice cream, and the ice cream wasnt cold enough when they fried it, so it was subsequently melting pretty fast. and since it had a thick crust, it was hard to cut into it because the melted ice cream soaked into the crust.

So I guess that can sum up my experience at rusans. Thanks to the party i went with. (around 16 people) service was slow (REALLY SLOW, but i dont take off stars for serve, its all about the food for me) and tthe food sucked. thank god i only paid like 11 dollars, and i made 9 dollars for eating a spoonful of wasabi.

But yeah. so originally i was going to give this place a 2, but now that im writing this review im giving it a 1. save your money, go anywhere else, and get better sushi.

Youll thank me later.

Ru San's is probably the most hit or miss restaurant I have ever been to.
This particular one is my least favorite out of the 4 in the Atlanta area.
The food is not much worse than the other 3, but the service sure is.
I have been here quite a few times and I swear the service gets worse every time.
I do enjoy the layout of this one compared to the others, but it doesn't make up for the service.
Did I mention the service isn't all that great here?
Food would get at least 3 stars here, but due to the service, it barely got a 2.
I will be back because I am a glutton for punishment.

What can I say, I used to go here at least once a week when I lived in Atlanta. The staff can be spotty sometimes, and the place gets really loud on a friday or saturday night with people ordering sake bombs or having birthday parties. But that isn't why people go to Rusan's. If you are looking for excellent fish, traditional fish, or a quiet joint, go somewhere else.

Rusan's is the McDonald's of Sushi and that's why we love it. You can go to Rusan's and have a meal for less than the cost of a super value meal. I used to go in frequently and leave for less than 5 bucks. Most people spend more, but you get a ton of food. The sushi is decent and its cheap. If sushi is always super expensive you aren't going to be able to have it very often. Rusan's is the stop gap between sushi and no sushi. If you don't care for sushi, no worries, come and get the Chicken Fried Rice, some of the best fried rice you'll find in the city and this isn't a cost thing here, this is just a reality.

If you are looking for a place to get rowdy, to be noisy, to have a really good time...then come to Rusan's, you're always welcome (even if some of us sit outside to avoid you people =P ).

It's hard to say no to a sushi buffet for just ten bucks.  The sushi is decent.  Some of it sucks.  The steamed dumplings were awesome.  The fried rice is pretty good.  They really keep the sushi going quickly.  I didn't really like the loud dance music, or the guys at the next table who were talking trash about every person in there, but I know that's not RuSan's fault.  Douchebags can eat wherever they want.

Anyway, I can eat a lot of friggin sushi.  This is the only sushi place in the world that I can leave full and not cry when I pay the check.  Had I payed more, I might have complained about the quality.  But at that price, I like it.

Entertainment...great..Sushi...awful!!!
This place is good if you want to have fun and don't care about the Sushi..but being a sushi lover...I was rather disappointed by their food....
I hear their Sake bombs are good..never tried them!!
It has a very welcoming ambience...loud music...screaming chefs...all the knick knacks thrown in but as for the Sushi.....I will have to grade it below zero!!!
There are tonz of better Sushi places to go to in Atlanta...I would def choose another Sushi Restaurant, if you are going for the Sushi that is...
If you just want Sake bombs and good entertainment..then I guess Ru Sans is your place to be!!
As for me...I plea the fifth and will def go somewhere else :)

Ru San's is my least favorite sushi establishments but its so close to home I can't help but find my way inside their loud and obnoxious spot.

It's awfully crowded in the evenings and the sushi usually comes out room temperature from being over handled.  I like mine a bit chilled.

During my last dining experience, there happened to be three birthdays on a wednesday night, how coincidental.

The whole place goes into song and dance and the absurd "happy happy birfday" song cracks me up! I love it when they get to the person's name and improv it... " happy birfday to... somebody!" It's historical.

I usually order sashimi a la carte, surprisingly they regularly have toro.
I also order the spicy chicken yakatori.

If you want cheap sake bombs, come here. If you want food, go somewhere else - the rice isn't even like sushi rice, it's not that fresh, low in quality, a lot of fried stuff that isn't authentic and fake teriyaki sauce on everything.

More of a mix of chinese food with japanese. Cheap, but definitely not high on the delicious scale.

I love RuSan's! It's my favorite place to eat sushi, not saying its the best, but its the best for the price. You can't beat the $1 sushi. I crave RuSan's almost every day, its almost like I'm addicted! I've eaten there tons of times, and have to say that I felt a little queasy once when I ordered red snapper. I probably won't order that again, but other than that the fish is always fresh and yummy. Their aioli sauce is amazing though full of calories I'm sure. It's a great place to just come for a quick sushi meal, but expect to wait a little longer for your food (and your tab) on crowded nights.

It's a casual place, so no need to dress up, though you can if you want to. Lots of people come here before going out so wear whatever and you'll be fine. It's very LOUD in there, so make sure you don't have sensitive ears. They play techno music and the waiters sing to you if its your birthday, or scream if you order a sake bomb. You usually have to scream just to talk to your friends which can get a bit annoying, but it's just part of the atmosphere I guess. The staff is really friendly and they always get my orders right!

I just posted this in a comment on a friend's blog and thought it was perfect to share here.

While generally I would avoid buffet sushi, [this] RuSan's has a really good buffet and they are constantly changing out the food on it because it goes so fast. It's a good lunch on the cheap and you get lots of variety.

I know this place is considered the rock bottom of sushi joints, but I actually like it.

Ok, if you go for the buffet it's probably not the best quality sushi you've ever had, but in my experience I've never had anything taste bad. Also, it's always busy so the turnover is high and the plates really don't sit for all that long.

The wait is always insane on weekend nights, even if you have a so-called "reservation" (which usually won't be observed). But it's a great place for groups and celebrations. I'm sure everyone who has been has seen or experienced the dancing, loud music, anatomically correct "orange man" and other carryings on for the birthday honoree. It's good fun. Also, who doesn't love a group sake bomb?

The menu is massive. Really. Every time I go I feel like I have no idea what to order. They have all the standards plus a few more creative specials. What I do think is really great is the wide variety of other foods they offer for the non-sushi-fan in your group. Plenty of yakatori and other asian dishes.

Oh yeah, and as you probably already know, it's really cheap.

This is gawd-awful sushi for amateurs, but I guess if you're hammered on sake anything tastes OK.  But what about your olfactory senses?  The whole place (and fish) stinks, and it's not even a bargain.  Avoid it like the plague, or you just might get it.

If you want good sushi ITP you'll find it at Taka, MF Sushi or Harry & Son's.  Also, Starfish on Peachtree is small and delightful with a $10 sake sampling.  Sit at the counter and watch the pros at work.

This is a cheap sushi experience for those who either can't afford or know what a real one is like.

Their atmosphere is more catered to the raucous college crowd that finds dunking sake into beer entertaining.  Don't get me wrong - there is a place in the world for that and its at RuSans.  In my college days, this was the thing to do and we had plenty of large groups there on the weekends that they gladly accomodate.  That is what the 2 stars are for.  The food quality didn't earn this place any stars in my rating.

I've recently become a sushi lover, thanks to a good friend that introduced me. Now about once every two weeks I get the Psychotic, can't get you out of mind craving for sushi.

After a trip to RuSan's with my very sushi-literate friend, I am hooked!!!! RuSan's is like that guy you meet that has the great body, perfect height, killer sense of humor, he's smart (without being condescending) and when you're with him, you feel like the two of you are the only ones in the room. You can't stop thinking about him, no awkward phone conversations you guys just CLICK, and you can't wait until you get to see him again. Well....RuSan's is my new man, and I am in desperate need of his attention.

The customer service was great, for the most part the waiter knew what was what on the menu. The food came out quickly and was awesome, very inexpensive. I had an awesome time while I was there and I plan on returning (ummm maybe this weekend)....Only bad part was we were a group of 3 and the waiter failed to ask if we wanted separate checks (huge pet peeve on my end)

I liked this location a lot better than the RuSan's in Buckhead. The service was a LOT faster. The food was the same. This location lacked the bright lights and shiny decor of the Buckhead location but the mood seemed a lot more festive.

If you haven't been to RuSan's before, its not the best sushi in town, but its quite reasonably priced, and I've not died yet, so it cant be too bad.

I've been to every location, and they are all the same to me. Some people find some locations are cleaner than others, but I don't see much of a difference.

I only like going during lunch when I don't have to look at the menu (which is why I give it a 2). I usually hate buffets, but Rusan's is okay, because the sushi tastes decent (I have learned to stay away from the fried rolls section of the buffet though), it's cheap, and it's all you can eat. Plus they have other things like salads, fried calamari, and fried rice on the bar.

Most of their menu is a hot mess. They have way to many options of sushi. They probably have a peanut butter and jelly fried roll on the menu...with some sort of nasty sauce on top.  It's like they take every known food and make a roll out of it. Some rolls probably have 123,841,873 different ingredients. And then they'll fry it and add a sauce on top and call it something different. It's quite disgusting. You can't tell what you are getting from the desriptions. It may sound simple, but you'll end up getting a what looks like a fat donut with veggies inside.  I had a hard time finding a simple spicy tuna roll on the menu.

Once I went there during non-lunch hours and ordered a roll. The fish was lukewarm, and the avocado was warm and waaaay too creamy. The temperature was overall OFF. I was scared I was going to be sick.

Their presentation isn't great either.  The waiters are not pleasant, and they don't seem to care about customer service. Most locations looks kind of untidy, but it's not a huge issue.

The only reason I go here still is because my friends love it, and I don't mind the buffet.

All hail the McDonald's of sushi... burp!

My cheap charlie fwends love this place b/c it's so friggin cheezy...literally. Fried cream cheez this and fried cream cheez that...poo poo! I usually get roped into this joke unknowingly. The recently thawed sushi is meh...but at least it's "kinda" fresh with the high turnover. It ain't sushi grade...it's more like a Fancy Feast!

The buffet is a sight to behold, reminds me of Jackson Pollock's "Number 2"...those sneeze guards are effective as saloon doors keeping the draft out.

Between all the sake bombs, rounds of beers, freaks, geeks, techno music and the mumbling mexi-sushi "chefs"...who can focus on the food?!

It's all location, location, location! What a great scam...I gotta sake bomb of my own!

RuSan's exists in some alternate dimension, I'm sure of it.  Most people I know either lovelovelove it or hatehatehate it.  Me, I lean toward a strong dislike.

It might be because I really love good basic sashimi and RuSan's does not do that well.  The fish does not look sushi-grade - the tuna is grayish, the salmon dull orange.  But, having a strong stomach I ate it anyway the last couple of times some coworkers wanted to go there for lunch.  It tastes pretty good, but I got a stomachache afterwards each time.

I wonder if the intense chili sauces are intended for the same purpose wasabi originally fulfilled...  They may have some kind of anti-bacterial property.

I also have to say that the service has been pretty bad every time I've been.  Erroneous orders, terse servers, and long waits characterize my RuSan experiences.  It can also be extremely LOUD.

One thing I do like about RuSan's is their diverse menu - I've had the courage to try a few things I've never tried before such as pickled plum sushi.  Pretty tasty, though my companion didn't care for it.

I think it's a style thing:  if you like your sushi and sashimi traditional, try Yu-Ka (Lotus) across the street next to the Disco Kroger for a quiet, sophisticated experience.  If you are looking for a new way to eat fish, rice, and seaweed, and you love loud techno, give RuSan's a go.

No matter the frustrations this place has given me, I still come back. It's just one of those HURT SO GOOD kinda thing. Maybe I'm just a freak like that. But I'm addicted to Rusans. Been going there since 2000 and still going strong. Even had my birthday party there in 2005. Ha!

I highly recomend that you go early on the weekends (such as Friday night) otherwise the wait is treacherous. Their services are beyond poor but their food is oh sooo good.

It is quite overwhelming to look at their menus and have no idea what to order. I recommend the following items and I promise you, you will not go wrong. Although I don't really recommend eating their fresh sushi there, sometimes even bad fish happens to good restaurants.

From their summer menu:

The Shrimp Tiki Tiki - This is almost similar to the shrimp tempura except they are crusted with macadamian nuts and topped over a bed of salad, drizzled in their sweet chili sauce and - once in a while, you get lucky and get their mango pineapple salsa to go with it. it's suppose to have it everytime but it's a hit or miss for me so far.

The Kobe Steak Salad - There's like 4 cubes of kobe steaks in the entire dish but it's worth knowing how kobe steak can melt in your mouth.

The regular menu

The crispy salmon skin hand roll ($5) - make sure you tell them that.
#38 - The Mad Max Rolls (cucumber rolls with crabs and stuff with an awesome dip)
The Seafood Medley - this usually comes out in a heaping plate full of mussels, shrimps, salmon, calamari served with grilled mochi rice.

I can't think of the rest but you get the drift. My all time favorite place to eat, about 2 times a week! Plus, Mr.Rusan is such a flirt that it's addictive to come back to get some of that ME LOVE YOU LONG TIME attention! lol

Sake Bombbbbbbb!!!!!!!! lol This place is great. I think because everyone knows our names (is that really a good thing or do we eat here too much? lol) and the sushi is decent for the cheap price. Mmmmm sushi! They've been really good to us here.

You've got the buffet which is Mon-Sun from open to 2 during the week and I think 2 or 3 on the weekends and is $10 per person. It ranges from raw sushi to battered and fried sushi to fried chicken wings, salad, and fried rice. Not a bad deal and the food is ok for a buffet.

We usually head there on a Fri or Saturday night now before heading out on the town and I must warn you if you don't get there between 8 and 9pm you may be waiting for a while. The weekend crowd swarms in like no other but that's when the party begins if you've already been seated. You will constantly hear "Jager Bombsss" lol just kidding It's "Sake bombs" here. lol and I would honestly reccommend sitting at the bar, although a booth is fine too. It just so happens when you sit at the bar you get more for the little money you'll spend. The chefs tend to pass over free food and shots while you sit and converse with your friend or friends. If you are drinking all of the drinks are pretty good but I particularly like the plum wine, hot sake, or the cold unfiltered sake. (I think the brand is Nigori, but it kinda makes me think of a cold Egg Nog. lol)

The prices are extremely low all the time. $1 sushi, $1.50 sushi, $2 sushi. Not a bad deal at all. If you like rice and meat I would reccommend the California Sunrise or Sunset. It's tuna and salmon rolled in rice and avocado but these aren't little rolls. They are pretty large in size and will fill you up and will run you about $8. So yummy in my tummy. Mmmmmmmm.

Sooooo, anybody ready for a Sake Bomb and some cheap eats????

Loud.

Cheap.

Good Food.

It is super crowded on Friday nights, with groups of people doing sake bombs, where one of the guys that works here, runs around yelling SAKE! and the group taking the drink yells back BOMB!! This is done 3 times then they all drink the drink.. It's a fun place to go eat some good cheap sushi, just don't go if you want a nice quiet evening or if you have a headache.

There are multi Rusan locations in Atlanta and I have had the lunch buffet at all of them and this one by far has the best buffet.  They may and try and deceive you that there all the same but this is just not true.  This particular location always keeps the buffet well stocked and they don't tend to run out of cuts of sushi like other locations.  In addition I believe the actual buffet is larger.  I would recommend the lunch buffet special here to anyone, its the most bang for your buck plus they have Maguro one of my favorites when it comes to sushi!  The place also seems to be kept up better then some of the other locations.

The buffet runs you around 10 bucks which is just A-mazing!
