Jillian is my stylist and literally won't let anyone else touch my hair and my husbands for that matter. I live in San Diego, but will wait it out until I go to SC or she comes down here to get a cut.
+1 star for perfectionist skills
+1 star for actually talking to me about how to style my hair in several ways not just the takes 30 minutes style, but the cute I've only got 2 minutes style too!
+1 star for meeting my husbands standards of excellence (yes, surprisingly he is quite picky about his hair cuts)
+1 star for being creative and not having to give her a 20 minute discourse on what I want my hair to look like, she asks a couple questions and then just gets inspired and makes my hair look amazing!
+1 star for making sure that I am pleased with the cut and style and is totally open to making changes.
Great service and above and beyond what I have experienced at other high end salons.
Don't let the other two reviews get you worried. Just book with Jillian and you won't be sorry. -

I was misled by this salon's website, since I thought that they had manicures available. When I came by, it turned out that they had no manicurist on staff. However, I'm giving it three stars b/c one of their staff members was very kind to give me the name and number of a manicurist that used to work for them that now works for another salon down the street. If I lived in the area, I would definitely go back to them for hair/skin services, just b/c of the thoughtful customer service I received there.

Ok, so I went to this place when they first opened. I had just moved to the area and I thought I would love it because they carry B&B as well as other great products. My cut and color were just average, overpriced for the quality. The worst part, however, was the service. My stylist was the only one working and got me started over 1/2 hour late. I can stand that, but then he had me double booked with another customer and he had no assistant. He was either ignoring me or her the entire time. Weird. I feel bad giving a negative review on a place that I have only visited once, but I can't afford to have another bad experience there.

I was recommended by the gal at Head Quarters to Rumors, because her shop was all booked up that day. Realizing I was calling at the last minute I wasn't sure if I could even find somebody. Rumors took me on the same day, and after 5pm which was fantastic for me. Ildefonse transformed me into a modern day woman with a color and cut, a work of art I must say. I was attending my daughter's high school graduation and would be seeing people I hadn't seen in a decade; I received so many compliments.

Rumours is a beautiful, spacious salon where you are treated like a queen. Upon your arrival you are offered a beverage and snack if you like. It definitely adds to the pampering experience. I followed my stylist Janae here about a year or so ago. Janae has been doing my hair for over 15 years. What I really like about her as a stylist is that if you ask her for something specific she will do exactly what you ask. You never leave disappointed or get bored. But, if you go in and tell her to do something creative she always whips up a new style that fits you perfectly. She can go funky or conservative depending on your mood. I also find it ironic that a few times I have commented on how cute I think someone's hair is and often times they say, "Oh thanks, I get my hair done by Janae!" I tell anyone looking for a new stylist to go and try Janae. She's the best!

Tuan was recommended to me by a friend and he is amazing! I went to Rumours about 3 years ago when it was a dump. They have hired new stylists and gave the place a HUGE makeover. The design is gorgeous and looks like something you would find in SF.
