We have been to Rumbi twice and both times we were very pleased with our meal. Between my hubby and I, we have tried the Luau Pork Plate, Chicken Teriyaki Rice bowl, Jerk Chicken Sandwich and Luau Pork Sandwich.
The luau pork was very good on the plate entree and in the sandwich. It tasted surprisingly similar to the luau pork we have had in Hawaii. The noodle salad was tasty but the coleslaw was too watery for me. The chicken teriyaki bowl was excellent. The sauce was tangy but not too sweet. The Jerk Chicken was not what is typically called Jerk Chicken. It was not hot or spicy but instead tasted like teriyaki sauce was used instead of jerk sauce. It was still good, just not what was expected.
The salads look great. I am glad to see from Amanda's review they are as good as they look because I have my mind set on ordering salad there next time.
The ambiance is what is expected from 'fast casual' dining. Think Pei Wei re-worked into Hawaiian. You order your meal at the counter, they give you a number and bring your food to your table. One great thing is they have very large booths that can fit 6 - 8 people so it is good place for gathering to hang out.

If you've read my other reviews, you may have gathered that I'm pretty much a card carrying carnivore. So it may surprise you to learn that I've only ever had the salads at Rumbi. They are the first things on the menu and they all sound (and are so good) I've honestly never read any further.

Okay, I'll have to remember to give the Luau Pork Sandwich and the Jerk Chicken Bowl a try; they sound mouthwatering.
But seriously, this is actually a great place to come and get a fresh and tasty salad. I love the variety of toppings (mango, mandarins, macadamia nuts, avocado, feta, noodles, BBQ chicken) and you could easily serve two people from one salad.
I think you get a bit shorted when you get the salad to go, they probably don't make to-go boxes that big, and you run the risk of your hot chicken wilting your cold lettuce.
I like the Hawaiian-style atmosphere. If you space out on a hot day you might forget your 5,280+ above sea level.
