I am definitely coming back here. Strong drinks, good music and great attention from staff. Their rum list was amazing...I didnt know that many rums existed! I sat there for a second, taking it all in before I could try to pick something. I would tell you how great the drinks were that I had but honestly...I can't remember their names. Hah.

They even helped us find a cab/our DDs when we were leaving. Rum is my favorite liquor, so I am glad this place wasnt a dud, or I would have been very sad!

Went here for 1/2 priced mojitos last night with a friend who works nearby. We both had the cucumber-infused version, and they were very tasty but somewhat lacking in alcohol content. We tried to get an extra shot in our second drink (which we of course expected to pay for), but it didn't taste any stronger and so at that point we felt we might be getting ripped off. But then when we closed our tab we weren't charged for the extra shot, so all was well; it was clearly just a case of the bartender not hearing me correctly. That happens, and it's not big deal. She was very nice, was on her own and was clearly a bit swamped when we were there.

The atmosphere was laid-back and it was nice to be in a bar where you can hear each other talk, although I suppose that's most places on a Monday night.

I'll definitely be back, but probably only for this deal since I'm not that much of a rum drinker generally.

I probably don't go to this place enough since it's right next to my apartment.

The rum list is both stunningly long and dizzyingly unmanageable. But the key I suppose is to just get a mixed drink, because only pirates drink straight rum.

The mojitos are consistently the best in the city, with some creative choices on the menu. My favorite rum drink has always been the Dark and Stormy, which is only of the cheapest things on the menu and DAMN good. I like it with lemon, but that's just me.

If you're with a bunch of friends you could spring for the $60 flaming volcano drink, which tastes like Hawaiian punch and looks ridiculous.

Brad's rating (out of 5):
Drinks: 5
Price: 3 (isn't rum a cheap mixer?)
Decor: 5
Service: 4
Wild card: Sent back one of the huge $60 drinks because it had a fly in it. But they replaced it!

Went here for a few after dinner drinks on my recent trip to Philly. While it ended up not really being my "scene" the drinks were fantastic, even if it took a while to get a few of them. We were there on half priced daiquiri night and sampled a few of those as well as some martinis. Really each one was unique and above average. If I lived in Philly I'd get liquored up here often.

Ok I absolutely LOVE Rum Bar. Can't beat the M-W specials-- half off mojitos on Monday, $2 Tuesdays, and half off daiquiris on Wednesdays-- seriously! I love the ambience and seating available (though sometimes sitting in the front seats can be awkward with multiple groups) and service is (generally) friendly. Be aware though that the kitchen closes before the night's up, so if you're looking for munchies, this may not be the place late at night. Drink specials make M-W nights totally worth it all over again!

As a rum lover, I'm always alright with a place called the rum bar. Especially when they have $5 tiki drinks on Tuesday nights!
I think I will start out by telling you that the Tiki cups are WONDERFUL! Mine was a purple tiki pirate, complete with a gold tooth and an eye patch. LOVE IT! Now the drinks, if you're looking for something really strong, they sure do have a lot of rum in 'em. I'm not so much a lightweight and I was feeling that drink.
We also ordered the mini burgers. I wasn't sure about a pineapple on a burger, so obviously I had to try it out. It's really really good. I'm under the impression that they marinate the raw Burger meat in teriyaki and then grill a pineapple and some onions to top it all off, and it really works. Yum.
Overall I really do like this place, I haven't been highly disappointed yet.

The drink menu shows thought and creativity.  The Rum Bar has a diverse list of rum and rum-infused drinks.

The wait staff is very knowledgeable and helpful in deciding.  My table ordered a La Carib (beer), a pepper infused mojito (very spicy), a Hemingway daiquiri, and various rum (gold and white) and cokes.  Despite the steep prices, the rum adventure was well worth it.

The food, unlike the drinks, was not good.  We shared the guacamole and chips, ribs, and crabcakes.  The crabcakes were a little too breaded (I've lived in Maryland so I may be spoiled), the ribs were very dry and tough, and the guacamole was decent.

I would recommend drinks at Rum Bar to anyone, but make sure you have a full stomach.

I decided to try this place on a Tuesday night.  Honestly, I went because I had a http://restaurant.com gift certificate for $25 and I was near it.  When the two of us sat down, we were greeted by our friendly sever and given time to make that hard decision, which drink to order!  Their rum drink selection is vast and they all sound good (except the Tiki drinks, they just sound tacky and too sweet to me).  Unfortunately, on Tuesday, they were out of the rums vital to making my first AND second mojito choices so I decided to settle for a traditional mojito.  Yeah, I know, a rum bar out of rum.  WTF!  Well , I had two since they were indeed very good.  I plan to return on a Monday since they're half price then and I can really afford to get hammered.  Anyone want to join me?

The food menu is ok, not the most expansive but definitely one that reads well as tempting.  My first choice was the scallops, oh-guess what the server had to joke "we're out of them too!"  I don't blame him, poor guy.  So I asked for the BBQ baby back ribs and for the chipotle sweet potato mashies to go with it instead of the rice that normally does, and they were cool with that.  The mashed potatoes were AWESOME.  The ribs however, were only OK.  Not tender really, but tasty.

My friend got the pork medallions but we later remembered he didn't get his fresh peaches with it, that were promised (and they were a major part of the selling point in the menu description).  They were good but not a plenty and accompanied with some spicy mac and cheese which was alright.  Really small portionof pork for an $18 entree.   We both got a bit of some zucchini Au gratin and their chipotle corn bread which were good.

By the time we got our food, the place was filling up and our server, the only server, was definitely in the weeds.  He was good but took a long  time to get the 2nd round of drinks in, and my friend noticed the chef coming out, often, to drink at the bar.  Hmmm.
All in all, it was a decent experience thanks to the friendly and informative server and of course, thanks to our $25 gift certificate... oh yeah, and the stretch of time between ordering and getting our meals was well spent trying out my friends new iPhone app. that offers up random Mr. T quotes (iPity) that truly made the night wonderful.

I am mos def not a rum drinker/lover, but might be after last Friday night's trip to Rum Bar while we were in town.  The b.f. had been once before and loved it thanks to some yelp due diligence on my part.  We had one night left in the city, and decided to go to Rum Bar after dinner so that he could watch the Stanley Cup final game (poor Detroit).
It ended up being one of those nights where we stayed for hours, made friends with the bartenders and other folks at the bar and had way too many drinks (in a good way).
He stuck with the stiff stuff, whereas I had numerous strawberry mojitos, which were delicious.  (I'm a big fan of muddled fruit in drinks.)  We didn't try any food, but I did get a chance to look at the menu and it looked super good.
Next time I/we are in Philly, I will definitely come back to Rum Bar.  It's very comfortable and has a great vibe to it.

Hands down, my favorite bar in town. Their Monday mojito discounts are fantastic (2 for the price of one) and they have all sorts of inspiring concoctions- for instance, the chili cilantro mojito that gives you burns of all sorts.

The food portions are small and relatively expensive, but I don't go there to dine. As far as drinks and atmosphere go, Rum bar is fantastic.

Went to the rum bar this past Friday night.

I love this place. I didn't really drink rum until I found this place. Unfortunately, there was a big party coming in and there were no tables to sit at and the bar was jam packed. We ended up sitting in the front window area.

Didn't have anything to eat. We drank a couple shots and a few cocktails. They've got a good handful of totally original cocktails and tons upon tons of Rum.

I used to live in the area. I've been to this place a lot. If you pass by, do yourself a favor and go in for a drink.

Rum Bar = 4 stars

Went here Friday night to meet up some friends.  Chill place with some comfy chairs in the front, but we sat at some tables towards the back of the place.

They have a nice selection of rum hence, the name.  I didn't try anything too exotic simply because they have a $6 rum jungle juice mix thing.  I know I should have tried some exotic, cool rum - but hey, I'm using the same excuse I am a poor grad student.  Until I'm out of that, then I'll be adventurous. Anyway, I digress - this is a cool chill place and if you're up for rum and you like rum - check it out.

One word = STRONG.

Hell yes. You definitely get your money's worth of alcohol here ;) I went for half price mojitos on Monday and definitely enjoyed it. I got the jerk chicken quesadillas and shared tostones with my friend. Awesome tasting food. And the watermelon and the dirty mojitos, pretty darn good.

Definitely wish more food was served, but then I read it was tapas style so now that makes sense to me :) They should definitely expand this place so I can bring more people. I'll be back, Rum Bar! Arrrrrgh!

I've been to Rum Bar twice, both times because the people I were meeting chose it. I can't say, of all the places in Philly I want to meet up with friends, that I would ever choose it. It was mediocre, really. OK drinks, food was just alright, but nothing really stood out about it except for the tacky pirate bathed in lights in the front. The bartender was nice, as was the server, but I would have to say "nothing special." There's no cuteness about it, no coziness, no charm, and I wondered if it were perhaps brighter in there if it might be kind of dirty. Decor - eh, food - eh. Just eh.

Stopped in after dinner on the day after Valentine's Day. The place was deserted, but it was kind of nice to have the place to ourselves. The Mojitos were great. I had one of the house special mojitos with cucumber. It sounds weird, but it was awesome. I highly recommend it.

My wife had the strawberry mojito and it was great too. It had freshly pureed strawberries it and had a nice, clean taste. I can't say that the mojitos were as good as the Cuba Libre watermelon mojitos, but it would be unfair to compare anything to those.

The bartender was very nice and gave us some cupcakes that she had baked for Valentine's Day.

The prices were as you would expect them to be for this neighborhood - like $22 or 2 drinks. We were only there for 40 minutes or so, but we enjoyed it and would come back.

I hit this place up last night and it was suprisingly packed. However, I was getting a lot of strange looks from the crowd which was 90% female. I think I walked into a themed night. Anyway, drinks were good, ambiance a little tacky and only 1 bartender. There's a giant pirate in the front, maybe Lt. Morgan. I probably won't be back.

Mondays mean 1/2 price mojitos at the Rum Bar. Which is amazing since it means that I can actually afford to order some of their mojitos.

The bartenders are super friendly and knowledgeable. If you have a question about rum, you should definitely ask Adam, the owner.  He's very nice and certainly knows his rum. I can say this because I once witnessed a rum identifying contest between him and one of the bartenders.

A good friend of mine lives right above the bar, so I met him here for a few drinks. I'm not normally a big rum drinker (tequila...yes please), but I will indulge now and again. Figured I go the mojito route, and I enjoyed them...not as much as the kind you can get in Miami, but above average for the city. I liked the "house" variety with cucumber...refreshing! And strong...I had three and was feeling no pain. A fourth would have put me in lampshade hat territory.

I didn't try any of the food, so I can't comment there...the crowd was light at the time so it felt very relaxed and chill. I can see it getting crowded and rowdy, and I wouldn't like that so much.

The bartenders were great...friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without hovering (especially hard to do when it isn't so crowded). They didn't even seem to mind when I stirred my straw a bit too hard and sent my drink spilling all over (I always find a way to embarrass myself).

They also had some beers on tap, but that clearly is not the focus here (nor should it be). If you aren't in the mood for rum, you may want to try another place...but if you go into a place called "Rum Bar" and get annoyed at the non-rum selections, well, I don't know what to tell you.

I could see myself coming here again, especially as an early stop in the evening. Worth a visit!

A couple of my flight attendant buddies and I wandered down here after a little shopping and work.  This is a cute little place!  My friend ordered some kind of cilantro/hot pepper cocktail concoction she really liked, another had a well drink (happy hour $3), and I had a tasty rum runner.

The food was very good also!  We had the spicy mac and cheese, and the habanero grilled cheese on brioche.  Damn, that was seriously good, as was the home made guacamole and chips.  It's hard to beat freshly fried chips.  My friend also ordered the scallops, and she was absolutely in love with them.  They're all tapas sized for sharing which is the way to go.

I plan to go back again sometime.  I might go for a few less habaneros, as they kinda had their revenge on me the next day.  Oh well!

The staff was super nice, and the chef comes out with your food, and comes back to check on you later.  You don't get that very often!  They were also very patient with our questions, which we had many since it was our first time.

Shiver me timbers was Rum Bar a good time. And it was definitely more swankier then Davey Jones' rum bar (although I got a great kick out of the pirate statue and "Walk the plank" signs on the bathroom).

Of course getting to hang out with the Yelp crew, and getting hooked up with a free Rum Runner made the night even better. But I definitely need to come back even without those perks. Of course the rum selection was fantastic. but they had a good enough variety for those that aren't too fond of it. Having Rum-barrel Lager on tap was a good touch too. Throw in some spicy food options, and great service and you have a spot that's worth throwing some gold doubloons at.

The only flaw I can think of is that the space can be pretty tight. I felt like an aisle hugger every time I was having a conversation by the bar. But the table spots kind of evened it out.

Whoa, Rum Bar is GREAT!!  The only thing that could make it greater, is more pirate.
Or, at least - take the pirate situated to the left of the bar & make it more of a centerpiece to the place.  Always more pirate!  ;)

I really hope I get the chance to return to Rum Bar soon.  I visited for a very fun Yelp Happy Hour & tried a few very, very tasty drinks & some equally tasty appetizers.  That spicy mac n cheese is phenomenal & if you're a meat eater, you don't wanna pass up their jerk chicken wings either.  YUM!

The decor of Rum Bar is appropriately theme-y but nicely executed, it doesn't at all seem cheesy.

I have nothing but love for this place. Maybe it is because I got to hang out with the owner as he talked me through rums of the world. Or maybe it was because I tried lots (uhhh, maybe too many) drinks that I would not have ordered if I had just been sitting at the bar with my friends. Regardless, he took good care of me and my group, and I loved it so much that I want to have a Yelp event there. That's how impressed I was.

I first ordered the Raspberry Mojito, which was amazing. I am pretty much a raspberry nut, though, so I'd order that wherever I go. Then they convinced me to try their new Strawberry Mojito, which isn't even on the menu yet. Simply put, it is a taste sensation. A party in your mouth. A heavenly experience. And I don't even care for strawberries, so I mean what I say.

I also tried a Mai Tai...good but too strong for me. And the cachaca (Brazilian rum) mixed with sugar & mint...wow. Just try it. It's yummy.

The seared diver scallops with blood oranges and the pork medallions with fresh peaches were also perfect. Oh, and there's a life-sized pirate in the front of the place. Ahoy matey...I'll be back here soon for sure.

Probably in a few hours.

Even before I heard about the Yelp Event at this place my buddy that transplanted with me told me that he was trying to get his passport stamped at this place called, The Rum Bar.

A place after Captain Morgans own heart. Every type of Rum you could imagine and every type of flavor is captured in the most narrowly laid out place I have been to since moving to Philly. A couple people complain about the closeness but hey, if I can get closer to that hot girl there is no problems over here.
Speaking of the closeness issue, I don't know if I'm a bigot by even mentioning this, but walking into this place on a Thursday night I noticed that there were alot of non-mixed gendered attachments being made.(In the best Seinfeld voice)Not that anything is wrong with that, just noting it. Had a freakin sweeeeet time and will definitely hit it up with the rest of my Yelp folk.

Rum Bar is a pretty cool place, partially a bar and partially a restaurant a couple blocks from Rittenhouse Square. They have specials like 1/2 price Mojitos on Mondays. Too bad these mediocre thrown together Mojitos with little kick are usually tipping the scale at $10 so they aren't exactly giving them away either way. The menu looks tasty with a lot of creative items and nothing too too expensive. But when your plate comes and the portions are that of a Manhattan fancy bistro you realize that you are in fact paying a little more than what you bargained for. I wasn't impressed with the food either, in fact I was down right disappointed with  the incredibly dry and tasteless pork tenderloin. I was also a bit annoyed at the rowdy crowd that had been swarming around the bar.

So the bar is clean and decently run and the menu is full of really great sounding items but the staff, drinks, and food just falls a little short when it really comes down to it and next time I'll just have to keep walking.

Just went here last night for the first time after passing by the red back lit "Rum Bar" sign for over a year now. In fact, Rum Bar just celebrated its one year anniversary (January 2008).

When I arrived at around 10 PM the bar area was full; however, the tables in the rear were not full... yet. By 11 PM, all tables were full of ladies wearing shiny tops and gentlemen wearing club like clothing. I actually felt under dressed, which is rare because I normally am alway accused of being over dressed (I love my collared button down shirts!).

What struck me instantly was that the volume of the music was not over bearing, meaning that I was able to have a conversation and not have to yell. It was odd as normally I feel that I leave bars deaf and without a voice the next morning.

The drinks (mai tai) were really good and came with edible orchards. And to answer your question, yes, I did throw mine up in the air and catch it in my mouth, chewed it, then spit it out into a napkin because it tasted like a plant. The servers were very friendly and... smile when you talk to them.

I asked what their most popular night is and was told that on Monday's there are HALF-OFF mojitos. In addition, they still use the top shelf stuff instead of switching to bathtub rum for the cheapo's who want a drink. There are over 15 different mojitos to choose from.

There were some LCD TVs on the wall showing sports, which really was antithetical to their decor and the upscale vibe they were trying to send out. It would be like having a dog fight cage match going on in the lobby of the Ritz Carleton. They should stick to music videos and slide shows of tropical areas instead.

You've got to go to their website to find out who's DJ'ing on which nights and what other events they have. Another major draw is their $1 mini-entrees and drinks during happy hours (5-7pm).

Funny story: no sooner did I arrive with my date (the lovely Jenna C.), a tall lanky d00d who looked German and had red wine in one hand, put up his fist so that I could "blow it up," which I gladly did. Then he looked at Jenna and said to me, "She's a cute one, don't you think," or something like that. Yes, she was looking very good that evening, I would agree... but he just stared at us, back and forth with no sign of stopping. It was funny and awkward, but so is the German sense of humor.

I'll definitely head back here again and again and would recommend it to anyone. Even if you're not dressed the part, it is still a nice feel in this place and you'd feel comfortable wearing casual clothes. One final note, this was one of the most diverse bars I've been to in Center City where white patrons normally out number all others 10:1. It was a pretty even spread of ages, sexes, and races... although the level of shiny tops were very high.

If you like Rum, then surely the Rum Bar is the place for you. In their drink menu they have I'd say nearly a hundred different bottles of rum. And their drink specialties? You guessed it. The key ingredient is always rum.

The Rum Bar is not a very large place. There is a typical bar, and a small but cozy dining area in the back. I went there on a Monday night, and they had half price Mohitos, which is one of their specialties. The drinks were good, but the service was pretty slow, especially considering that it was Monday and there wasn't much of a crowd. I guess that's because they spend so much time making each drink. The result of this labor was certainly good, but just didn't impress me that much. For a Mohito from a place called "The Rum Bar", I expected a little more. The prices were kind of high too. It was very clean and well decorated, and has  a cool pirate theme.

I feel like I'm cutting it a little short with just three stars, but I don't think it quite earned four. Maybe it was an off night.

Went here a few weeks ago and drunk people almost got themselves beat up by my friends.  More than once.  Pretty weird, huh?  Drunk guys were waving their arms everywhere and taking coats that didn't belong to them and it was way too early for all of that.  It is a typical long & narrow center city property, but definitely not that narrow where the tables are in the back.  Up at the bar area things seemed more calm.  Friendly bartenders.  Table service was pretty aggressive, as in aggressively asking what else we wanted to order every 5 minutes... when we were clearly not there for dinner.

I had one drink and it was positively Heavenly--the mango mojito.  Strange crowd notwithstanding, I would actually come back to have that again.

On second thought, no I wouldn't.  Just can't get a handle on this place's vibe.  I don't think it has figured out its own vibe just yet, & that's a deal breaker although the alcohol is on point.

Very good food.  Great presentation.  Good selection of drinks and the drinks were not watered-down.  My definition of weak watered-down drink is a little different after going to school in New Orleans.  Clean establishment with nice decor.

I didn't eat here so I can't speak on the food, but every drink I had here was really really heavy tasting.  Regardless, it was strong.  The cap'n morgan pirate, though has got to go.  The dude is creepy and tacky and drove me nuts!

The Rum Bar is a good place to go and get some drinks.  Mojito Monday is definitely the way forward, as the Mojitos are far more justifiable at half price.

There is a good selection of rums, although I can't imagine some of the higher end stuff ($300 bottles) ever really gets sold and is merely there to make the place a little more pretentious.

Intriguingly, I've had the Rum Coriander here and also made it at home following their recipe on the NBC10 website.  I used bog standard Bacardi but my home made version was still better than what I received at the bar, odd but true.  The mojitos are great though.  The food looks good, though I've never tried it.

My only worry about this place is how long it will be around, it always seems to be pretty empty whenever I'm in there.

The Rum Bar is one of my favorite places. I know the whole crew, Adam (sommelier), Briana (restaurant manager), Patricia (executive chef), Vena (best mojitos in Philly) , Ben (most creative fusion drinks), they're like family. The Rum Bar features over 120 rums. Monday nights are Mojito Mondays where the Mojitos are 1/2 price Vena is who you want for this. Usually have a DJ or band present. They have a passport program. Ask about it. Sunday evening are relaxing, chef Patricia makes an excellent brunch and Briana is quite the bartender herself.

two words: raspberry mojito
they muddle fresh raspberries and it's purely orgasmic. some bartenders make them better than others though.

mondays are half priced mojitos.

the crowd here is weird. reallly weird. byo drinking buddies.

the food is tasty, but some of the small plates are just that... small. ordered the crudite. i had to laugh. it was a teeny broccoli floret, a baby carrot, and a thimble of dipping sauce. it would have been a rip-off at 50 cents. that said, the homemade chips and guacamole were irresistable (finished one, ordered a second)

I should probably wait to review Rum Bar until I've spent more than just half an hour there, but in case that doesn't happen any time soon, here are my observations after the Yelp happy hour. First, it's a relatively small space (which can be cramped) but definitely cute. The pirate theme is obvious but not overdone (unlike in a certain credit report commercial). The one drink I had--a Bahama Mama--was tasty, not too strong and not too sweet or cloying. Service was quick and friendly. The kiwi- and starfruit-infused rums looked quite festive; perhaps I'll try those on my next visit. I'm not big on the Rittenhouse scene, but if I find myself in the area, I'll certainly pop into Rum Bar again.

Definitely go on Monday - 1/2 price mojitos.  Of course we made up for that by ordering a couple of appetizers.  The tostones could have used a more flavorful sauce - they came with plain sour cream.  However, the calamari was off the hook.  Seasoned batter and sauce that was kickin'.  The mojitos were tasty as well, no loss in quality with the special price - we all know that SOME bars do this.  We sat in the banquette area in the front and had lots of room to enjoy ourselves.  I thought the place would be packed but it was not.  Our server, Adam, was appropriately attentive and added to our having a wonderful time.  Definitely on my list of places to return to!

I was really pleased with this event!  The food was excellent and SPICY but not so much so that I couldn't eat - it just made me drink my mojito faster.  The drink, by the way, was incredibly strong and also quite tasty.  I don't really see myself hanging out there on a regular basis - it seems to attract a different crowd than I typically identify with, but if I'm out and in the mood to stray from the typical dive bar, I will keep Rum Bar in mind.

ok i don't like rum at all... but i really like the concept of this bar... everything is made of rum and there are a TON of selections for all types of drinkers... pretty reasonable prices too.

i tasted the mojito which was pretty strong rum tasting...i would have liked to try the cucumber or pepper infused rum mojitos!

and my friends having a horrible experience at monkey bar decided they needed a really strong shot... so they asked for the strongest shot there which was an austrian rum called stroh 80.  its 160 proof which is 80% alcohol... there are apparently videos on youtube that show AUSTRIANS crying over their own drink because it is so dang powerful.

at first it smelled pretty good... almost like butterscotch candy... and when you take it it goes down pretty smooth, but man the after effects on our friends happened right away... every single guy small or big started tearing up... they felt like they were breathing fire out their mouth and ears and down their throat... wasn't pleasant at all.

still it was pretty cool! haha

"I liked this place a lot.  Very cosy, chill and decorated well.  Its small, but that's cool.  The place is hard to miss with its 'high seas' style facade.  I think this place is great, but I had one problem and that problem was me.  See,  I only like ''rum and...''  Not three distinct shots of rum solo otherwise known as a ''rum flight.'' Which is what I ordered (like an idiot.)   If you like rum, then this place is all you need to get by in life.   We didn't get food,   This place is definitely worth a try if your in the area."

three stars only for the painful prices. i suppose it's to be expected considering their location on a saturday night.

it was surprisingly quiet, not at all crowded, which suited me just fine. there were bits of ruckus here and there, including a woman who decided to attempt "the worm" on the floor, thereby exposing way too much of her crack.

the music was good, but not too loud. one could have a conversation, or dance a bit.

the drinks were all fantastic. i love mojitos and rum drinks. the lighter ones remind me of summer and the caribbean. they also have a delicious version of a hot rum toddy called "hot buttered nuts" that is perfect for a chilly night.

they're fairly strong, and easily drinkable - watch out! unfortunately, also very hard on the wallet: $10+ and they add up fast. maybe that's why this place was a little empty.

service is excellent. our waitress explained all of the drinks, and was very knowledgeable. one of our party doesn't drink rum, which they accommodated very nicely.

i personally didn't have any food, though friends who've eaten there before say it's overpriced for the small portion sizes.

the decor is very warm and comfortable, with plenty of seating and a huge beautiful bar.

i would definitely return to rum bar, but only for a happy hour. the pros here are many, but not quiet enough to outweigh the wallet-draining cons.
