Since moving back to the Bay Area I've missed this place. I missed the Spicy Egg salad, and the Fried Morning Glory...
Last weekend the gf and I were in LA and made a trip back to Ruen Pair and gorged ourselves to the point of stomach pains. (Spicy Egg salad, Fried Morning Glory, and Pad Kee Mao... all very, very good)
Service is pretty brisk and the food comes out pretty quickly (although they come out one dish at a time...)
Note: this place is CASH ONLY but they do have an ATM inside the restaurant.

The food is good, quantity on the small, and the service isn't the best but that isn't really a surprise.
The names of the dishes are so unique. You'd never guess what's in it by the name. Now if you didn't pick up on my sarcasm you'll figure it out when you look at the menu or by reading on that the dishes are named for exactly what's in it.
I recommend ordering the broccoli and pork skin dish as it was flavorful with lots of textures. The Fried rice was good and the red curry was average and the size was half of what you'd normally get at other restaurant.
Bring cash money $$ as plastic isn't accepted.
This is sooooo sad! My favortiet Thai restaurant has gone dowwwwn hill! I USED to love this place with a passion. I don't know if business has slowed down for them, but some of their food is not as fresh as before. One of our favorite SHRIMP CAKES are made with PORK and shrimp as well and its not stated on the menu! This time we had them take it back because there was a funky smell. It wasn't fresh!!!
They seemed uneasy and rude if you bother them with something like that instead of apoligizing, etc, etc.
NOW!! They automatically add 15% tips on your bill!! We only have a party of 4! WTF?? We used to tip them 20% but if they wanted to add the 15% on to the bill, we're not even going to give them the extra 5% because they became so greedy! :-(

Sometimes you don't know what you've got till it's gone, or at least until you move to the valley...
I used to eat here a few times a month, something that living in the bowels of the valley no longer affords me.
Apparently a few months deprivation of stir fried morning glory, green curry, panang, black egg & basil, and egg & salty turnip makes you go crazy.
Who knew?
Feed your brain. Keep your sanity. Eat at Ruen Pair often!
Great food in the heart of Thai town...I had the Thai Beef Jerky&Chinese broccoli with cripsy pork, since I've never seen that offered on a Thai Menu before. I Loved my meal here, Portions were plentiful.
I'll be back to try the Pork Jerky.
Ruen Pair is as close to dining in Thailand as you can come in Los Angeles. With cuisine inspired by Northern Thailand, the menu here is less rich than you would find at Jitlada (a supremely delicious Southern Thai spot), but equally delicious.
When it comes to Thai restaurants for me, I tend to hold the belief that the more kitsch the decor, the more authentic the food. It's a cultural thing, I guess. At Ruen Pair expect to find a cozy kitsch decor that includes not only a fish tank and year round holiday decor, but flat screen tv's and a BYOB policy.
We always start off with an order of Pork Jerky and then I order the Papaya Salad, medium hot, without dried shrimp, Pad See Ew and either the Tom Yum or Wonton Soup. A fairly traditional Thai order, really. When dining with a larger group we might go for the Salty Egg Turnip or the red curry.
If you don't BYOB, get excited because they have CRUSHED ICE! Personally, there is nothing more delicious with spicy Thai food than a 7-UP with crushed ice. If I am trying to be healthier, I opt for the hot jasmine tea.
Definitely as good as it gets for Thai food in this town, and even better - it is super cheap and when dining with my boyfriend we have never had a tab over $25, and we left VERY full. A great late night eat, as well. On the weekends, Ruen Pair is open until 3am.
Pretty authentic Thai food at reasonable prices, except I was disappointed that the pad kee mau turned out rather different from what I'd get in Thailand -- it seemed to be covered in a reddish paprika-ish powder that I had never encountered before.
Service was ok but inconsistent - we had 3 servers come by at different times, all differing attitudes (friendly, surly and nonchalant).
Still, I would consider returning when a Thai food craving hits. The Thai iced tea was yummilicious and the tom yam soup's really full of ingredients. Good value for money. We spent $50 for 4, including beverages and tips, and were all stuffed. Note: Cash only place though.
Another OG Thai Town restaurant is Ruen Pair. Prices are decent, and all the food that Ive tried there has been pretty good...cant really complain, except that the restaurant is always kinda crowded.
Even though Ruen Pair seems to be one of the better restaurants in the plaza, I dont like to go as often because of the crowd, and the parking (valet only). There are many other good Thai restaurants around that are more convenient for me.
Came here last night with some friends. When we go out for Thai - I order the usual: green papaya salad, Pad See Ew, pineapple fried rice, and tom yum soup. Since we were with my friend (who's half Thai) she suggested we try some other dishes. We had:
Beef salad - similar to green papaya salad but with beef on top
Green Papaya salad - very good and had crab legs in it...something different.
Crab rolls w/ plum sauce - Fried crab meat balls - very yummy and i loved the sauce!
Spicy soup noodles (not sure if this was the name of it but i remember it was the first one listed under the soup noodle section) - really liked this one. The broth was dark and it came with meat balls (that had the same texture as fish balls) and rice noodles
Fried Catfish - the sauce was slight sweet, red and very tasty! Also came with fried basil leaves - excellent way to top the dish!
Pad See Ew - OK i had to get it, but unfortunately this one was the only letdown. It tasted different from what I'm used to....
Tom Yum - OK i had to order this one too - what can i say? i like soup on hot days! i like this a lot, but it was slightly more spicy and lemony here.
We also ordered sticky white rice to accompany the different dishes - good stuff! Overall this place was great, but I will probably just stick to Thai Boom (Culver City) for convenience.
This place has a lot of bang for your buck...and oh ya, it's good too! In the heart of Thai Town, this place is authentic and had all the spicy level on all their dishes for all kinds of diners. It is open super late and so is a good spot to go after a night out. the parking lot is tight and is valet, but depending on what time of day you are there, you can find street parking nearby.
I got the pad-see-ew and the seafood soup, which were both excellent. The soup was a huge portion and came in a hot pot, right to your table. There was so much shrimp in it, I couldn't believe. They don't skimp on anything here. The soup was $6 bucks and the entrée was $6 as well.
I will be coming back until I have tried everything on the menu!
Probably one of the most authentic Thai food place in LA. My favorite restaurant overall for the last 15 yrs. A real feast, an explosion of taste.
Not matter what you order it's always good.
Particularly recommend
Papaya salad (it's hand chopped and crunchy.. the best)
BBQ pork (the sauce is unbeatable)
Prik King chicken (the best one town)
Morning glory (simply delicious)
For those who like to try something a bit different the raw shrimp salad is great!
And so many more dishes.
Living so close to Thai Town, I have had many, many experiences with Thai food. Some good, some awful. This one went very, very well.
Came here on a humid 95+ degree day and their AC was just barely able to take some of the edge off the heat. That didn't stop us from getting our grub on. We ordered the Chinese broccoli with crispy pork, pad thai, chicken satay, and pineapple fried rice. I have nothing negative to say about any of these dishes. I'm not even going to try to critique them, because you can read previous reviews extolling the virtues of all the food at Ruen Pair.
The parking IS horrendous. No need to go into that. If I had to describe the restaurant itself, Ruen Pair is like an Accord and Sanamluang is like a Civic. Both very reliable, but one's a bit more refined and streamlined than the other.
We will definitely be back. 4 solid stars.
Not as good as it used to be. Had the papaya salad, red curry, chicken prik khing, and sauteed morning glory. The food was OK but not spectacular.
Parking lot is ridiculous, small, with valet only ($2 with validation if you park an hour), so it's better to find street parking. Also, the waitress was too busy talking to the other staff to see me trying to flag her down.
We had the medium spicy and all the food was surprisingly bland. Ordered the papaya salad with dried shrimp and there wasn't any dried shrimp as far as I could tell. The morning glory was pretty tasty with garlic, but the red curry didn't have much meat in it, and the prik khing was good but fairly bland.
Next time I'll eat at one of my current favorites, Thai Paradise in Monterey Park.
Huge fan! ... I don't get good Thai food often in the OC and my friends lean more towards late night Korean after clubbing in the Hollywood area... But the few times i've been to Ruen Pair, it was delicious! And those times I was sober :) ... I wish we would go there more often!
Anyways... my fav is the porriage combo. Basically it's a biiiiig bowl of white rice porriage with a big plate of sides like black eggs, preserved veggie, salty egg, asian sausage... *drool* just thinking about it... I've had a few other dishes and they are also very delish!
I went here with two girlfriends prior to a show last week. I came here with somewhat high expectations as I've seen several people blog/comment about how sound the food was...and.....
*thank the stars* I wasn't disappointed....
Between the three girls, we had:
-chinese broccoli (sans the pork)
-raw blue crab papaya salad
-pork jerky
-seafood salad
-ruen pair fried rice
I enjoyed every dish but I probably could have done without the seafood salad as it had items in the salad that i didn't care for. Since this is an ONLY CASH spot, they do have an ATM at the location if you forget to bring cash (like myself). Basically, if you're looking for a cheap casual place to eat, here are one of your options.
OMG. I forget what it's like to eat real thai versus close to my house thai.
After eating here tonight I want to lower my ratings on the places near me. ugh. I wish I had the writer/review skills to properly verbalize how good this place is, how much better/yummier it is to any of my local staples. I love the places near me but this is restaurant versus fast food for lack of a better comparison.
My advice is, if you think your local thai place is great, it's worth a trip to thai town to compare.
We got the crab cake appetizer. I got crab fried rice and pad thai (which i normally dont bother with, i just truly had no idea what to order) and it was the best of both dishes I have ever had. It actually makes me feel like I have been fooled up until now with what I previously thought was good thai food.
Let's see... we got:
Tom-Yum Goong - asked for medium spicy
Tod Mun Pla (Thai Fish Cake)
Pad Si Eew
Red Curry with Chicken - asked for VERY spicy
Ruen Pair Fried Rice
Lychee Juice
First, don't ever get the Lychee Juice. Blended dried Lychee in water, sweetened with sugar, leading to a drink with a similarity to very dirty dish water, topped off with brown! Lychee fruit. I did taste it and more than once. I even ate one of the Lychee. Now I LOVE Lychee. But all I can say about this drink is ewwwwwwww.
Everything else was good and the Red Curry did knock my socks off; I was sniffing throughout and my friend could only tolerate one bite.
So why the 3 you ask?
Because both the Pad Si Eew and the Ruen Pair Fried Rice had a strong aftertaste of uncooked ground rice. This was bizzarre. I did not taste it until my friend pointed it out. Once she did, I could not eat any more without that taste assaulting my senses. We asked the server and she said they only put that in the Larb. Really? Uncooked ground rice? Why?!
Maybe the kitchen has clouds of this stuff floating around or they were having a ground rice fight. Whatever it was, it ruined the food.
And I must mention, it's open till 4AM (yipeeeee) and there are five other establishments in the same strip mall that were open past 1:30. Nice!
This place would taste awesome if...I were drunk. But I wasn't.
Although I've had better Thai food in Thai Town, Ruen Pair did have cheap prices and the spiciest food in town.
The order:
- Raw Blue Crab Papaya Salad (Medium spicy): Yes, real blue crab! OMG for being unbearably spicy. Oh! The agony!
- Deep fried whole pompano with a spicy chili sauce: Pompano had a tough, meaty texture similar to fish jerky. I'm not a fan of the fish, but I am a fan of the spicy chili sauce!
- House special pan-fried flat noodles with chicken: The chicken was tough, but the flavor was decent and very spicy.
- Sticky rice: Sadly, it was hard rice and became even tougher as it sat on the plate.
- Thai tea: I wished they gave refills to soothe my tongue from the chili peppers. I was sweating, crying, and in pain.
Total bill: About $30, included three entrees, sticky rice, two thai teas, tax, and tip.
Service: It was pretty good for a Thai restaurant. I was thankful that they came often to refill our waters. I must have drank 10 waters!
Parking: $2 in the shopping center lot.
Overall, 3 stars for cheap, spicy Thai fare. Cash only.
When reading this review, please keep in mind that I am a newcomer to the Thai game... In other words, I am an unadventurous white person. This time, though, during my visit to Ruen Pair, I branched out from my appetizer of chicken satay with peanut sauce and entree of pad thai--both of which are excellent at Ruen Pair, by the way--and tried the green curry with beef upon the insistence of my good friend Dennis R.
In spite of my low tolerance for spice--the spiciest food my ancestors ate was probably cabbage--I enjoyed it. I never knew that Thai curry was any different from Indian curry, so I was surprised to see that it was a dish more similar to soup than anything else. Indeed, it was a pale green liquid with beef, bamboo shoots, peppers, and basil (?) leaves; it was sweet, savory, and spicy all at the same time. Now, it didn't set my mouth on fire, but I was glad to have a mug of Thai iced tea on hand for the occasional bite with a little extra kick.
BOTTOM LINE: Ruen Pair is cheap and delicious Thai food... Oh, and did I mention it's cheap? Minus a star for the lame parking situation (valet only) and for being cash only. Bonus points for being open until 4am.
Tried them again for the third time. I was on my way to the Bowl and didn't have time to pack a picnic. I knew I had to be near a Metro stop so I could park n ride it, and I decided the Hollywood/Western stop was my best bet. Wandered in and out of the Plaza before I decided on Ruen Pair (mostly because it had the least customers.) I ordered the papaya salad, with dried shrimp this time, and pad see ew w/ beef. Food came out in about 7 minutes, I barely had time to run across to the bakery.
The food smelled good but I had to wait over an hr and a half before I could dig in. By the time I got to the papaya salad, it was soaking in the sauce and super spicy. Sooo good, although I do prefer blue crab to the shrimp. The pad see ew was pretty standard, although the beef was overcooked. The portion was HUGE though and well worth the $6 price tag.
All in all, I thought the food was better than my second visit. For the price, the value can't be beat. But for consistency, I think I prefer Thailand Plaza restaurant and even Red Corner Asia to RP, just based on my other visits to Thai Town.

I used to eat @ Thai Palm, right across to this restaurant, so I never noticed this place. The place is tiny, parking is horrible but the food is delicious. We got papaya salad (recommended by 2 yelpers), my favorite spicy deep fried catfish, and pad prik king with chicken. We probably got the food 5 minutes after placing the order. Wow..that's super super fast!! Papaya salad was okay for me but my honey loved it. I loved the fried catfish and pad prik king chicken was tender and delish. We couldn't finish the food and took the leftover home. The papaya salad was still crunchy, I actually liked it more the next day.
Yummy and cheap. Great place to grub when you are hungry and it is late at night. The place is open until the wee hours of the morning. I tried the spicy soup noodles with flat rice wide noodles, fried catfish with spicy sauce and basil, and green curry with chicken. The catfish was a tad on the dry side, and it would have been nice to have eggplant in the curry; but all else was fantastic. Three dishes, rice and two drinks was under $30.
Will be back!!
This is definitely one of the best Thai places I've been to :)
I came here with a good friend of mine who sold me on this place because she told me " Ruen Pair is where Thai people go to get Thai food" (she's Thai) I can totally see why!!! The food here was authentic, spicy, and at a good price!
We both ordered noodle dishes since we were hungry. I had the Pad Ke Mao with chicken, and it was really good!!! I love spicy food, but I'm definitely a lightweight...so I ordered mild, and it was still really hot! This place knows how to pack the heat :) The peppers were fresh and the rice noodles weren't too oily!
My friend ordered noodle soup. The broth was nice and light, and the egg noodles were yummy too!
I can't wait to go back and try some more Thai food here :)
Oh, the parking situation is a total downer tho...what's with valet parking in a parking lot?!?!?! so lame...
And this place is cash only!!
Love the food and the ambiance is cute.
The Staff is friendly but parking sucks!
Love the fried fish cake and they have yummy curries!
My fave dish is the drunken noodles!
YUMMY!
I've never known what this place was called other than "that thai place with the green sign".
Surprisingly good thai food is served here, whether you're in for a quick lunch special or late night drunken binge. Bring cash.. but you won't really need too much of it.
Tom Yum soup is bomb. Can't go wrong with any of their curries or noodle dishes either.
Their tiny parking lot charges a small fee late nights, so that's a bit of a bummer. Other than that, if you're looking for some good thai food, you've found your place.
Service hours, great food, location and not so difficult parking. I came here after watching Hairspray at the Pantages and was already late about 11pm and they were still opened, yay!!! Girls need great food before hitting bed, yes?! :)
Too many good dishes to list here but my favorite was that pork skin with the vegetable, I forgot what's called. I think you can try every dishes in here and it will taste good. Price are very reasonable for a late dinner and service was great. Parking, I believe it's valet but it's only about $1.50 or so, not expensive at all... Gotta try and eat here if you love Thai food, this is one of the best hidden gems in Thai Town.
Satan not understand why Ruen Pair so popular. Satan think maybe Ruen Pair like Denny's; People go because at 2:00 am not too many restaurant open. Also, people very drunk and not care about quality Thai food or self respect.
Don't misunderstand Satan, he think food at Ruen Pair OK, but not great. On most recent visit he order Duck Noodles, Pad Prik King and Tom Yum Soup. Satan think maybe chef forgot to put spices and flavor in Pad Prik King. Duck noodles were edible but Satan like this dish at other places better (See Satan review of Palms Thai).
Satan would like to give 2 1/2 stars but Yelp website very stubborn. Satan round down because of too many 5 star reviews.
Satan willing to go back to try much talked about Papaya Salad and Fried Morning Glory. See, Satan not so evil.
In the "Thailand Plaza" shopping center, which has valet parking (~$3) despite looking like an ordinary shopping center. I parked at the curb instead, paying the meter about $2 for an hour. Ordered the spicy catfish, steamed rather than fried. The dish had catfish steaks (crosswise cuts), artful branches full of green peppercorns, basil, kaffir lime leaves, galangal (I think), chili. There was also a small dish of what appeared to be fish sauce, but I took it off the platter when the dish arrived and forgot to use it. The fish was very flavorful with a nice balance of traditional Thai seasonings. My only complaint is that it was a bit tedious trying to pick the meat from the skin and bones, especially since the fish was a small one and so had less meat in proportion to the skin and bones. In any case, the food was pretty good, although it would've been *really* good if they'd used catfish fillets or some other easier-to-enjoy form. As it was, the flavor was good, but the amount of meat was small, and it was a bit of work to eat.
As others have mentioned, it is cash only. My meal of spicy steamed catfish and a side of steamed rice came out to about $8.50 including tax.
This is a no-frills, cash-only joint so be prepared.
I hadn't been here in a long time, so i was curious to see if it was still as good as I remembered. The good news is it was!
Myself another another ordered the following:
1. Papaya salad - Nice and crunchy with a bit of sipcy kick. Refreshing dish.
2. Tom Yum Ka - chicken coconut soup hot pot. Who doesn't love a hot pot? It's very good with chicken, lots of mushrooms, perhaps a tad too much lemongrass. Amazing broth nonetheless.
3. Pad See Mao - ordered beef and 'medium' spicy. It turned out to be very spicy, so will need dial it down next time. Pretty straightforward dish.
4. Pad Thai -- always my fav tha dish, noodles were great, served with lots of sprouts on the side.
At $4.95-$6.95 per dish, you can't really go wrong. Order a bunch of different stuff, take home whatever you cant finish! Staff is very friendly.
The only downside is the mandatory valet lot which will charge $3 for two hours (not bad). Find street parking if you can.
Feeling the local flavor, they even turned on the Lakers game.
Good value. I like coming hurr at night!
But try Ayara Thai in Westchester... better but slightly more expensive.
I bring out of town guests here when they ask about thai food. It's open extremely late and the food is very good and priced exceptionally well. The Tom Yum is fantastic, I absolutely love the panang, the curries, the Pad Thai, the papaya salad. One thing I have learned is that "medium spicy" to you is not medium thai spicy; medium thai spicy is capable of making a mexican cry. And for god sakes, dont eat the dried chilies they throw in the soup (DIMITRI!! lol) or you're bound to have a very miserable next day.
The only reasons I didnt rate this place a 5: valet parking only, cash only, and I've rarely seen them with an "A" restaurant rating, it's usually a "B", although I wont lie, I've eaten here when it was a "C" and... um... considered it even when it dropped to a "D" but my friends refused. That was years ago, though.
Can I just say one more thing? I have seen the absolute hottest and most fabulous thai trannies waltz in here at 3am.
I've tried so many Thai restaurants in Thai town and in the end, I still find that Ruen Pair is my favorite. Even a Thai friend of mine chooses to come here when she is visiting LA, so that lends it some credit too. My favorite dishes are these:
1. Papaya salad (I ask to get this with raw shrimp instead of the crab--ask for mild because even the mild makes me cry)
2. Tom Yum Ka-chicken coconut soup (you can order noodles on the side to add to this, which makes it a little more filling)
3. Any of the curries--they are all delicious!
4. Pad Se Ew or Rad Na--actually served with Chinese broccoli instead of regular broccoli like most Americanized Thai restaurants
5. Grilled Beef Salad
6. Fried Pompano Fish (ask for spicy sauce on the side so you can dip and the fish stays crispy)
and on and on....
There's always a pretty mixed crowd in here... all the Thai kids start rolling in after hours for late night grub, so this is one of the more authentic places around town.
My cousins and I absolutely loooooove this place. Out of the many Thai restaurants we've tried, this place has the best:
1. NAKED SHRIMP SALAD: This is a cabbage salad with raw shrimp. First off, I don't see this dish on the menus of many Thai restaurants. It's pretty rare to see it because the shrimp is raw, and many people can't handle too gooey goodness of raw things. Besides that, all of the ingredients in this salad are very fresh! Delicious.
2. PA NANG CHICKEN CURRY: The pa nang curry chicken is really good. There have been times when they made this dish too salty, but still alright nonetheless. Other Thai places usually make this dish really watery with frozen carrots and peas, but I prefer Ruen Pair's thick-sauce-pa-nang. We tried the beef version before, and it wasn't half as good - go with chicken.
3. SHRIMP CAKE APPETIZER: A sweet orange sauce compliments this dish. The end product is great! I would choose the shrimp cakes over the fish cakes any day.
My cousins and I go out of our way to eat at this place, and it's open late, so it's convenient for us when we feel like being nocturnal sometimes...
One con - why in the world does that parking lot need valet service? It's absolutely ridiculous, and we have changed our minds about going to Ruen Pair because of that nonsense. You still park by yourself, you give them your key, you pay, they give you your key back, and you drive off. What kinda valet is that??? It's more like... paying someone to key-sit for you. I miss the days when I didn't hate that parking lot...
Haha.
My all time favorite Thai restaurant.
I was in LA again and had to make sure i stopped by. really enjoyed The papaya salad. It was the freshest and spiciest too.

Atmosphere: Very casual, typical Thai place, busy
Service: Just ok
Food: I thought it would be great because of all the reviews. But it was pretty mediocre. Maybe I needed to order less of the typical stuff, though.
Price: Cheap
Would I go back? I don't have to.
I wasn't sure what to expect on my first visit here, and the extensive menu is a tad intimidating, but I shouldn't have worried. I ordered a simple option -- chicken and vegetables, and it was wonderful. The veggies were fresh, and the flavor of the sauce was extraordinary. I may be a little more adventurous next time. The service was no-frills and fast. I was there for dinner, but this seems like it might be the perfect lunch spot.
And you can't beat how CHEAP this place is! I'll be back!
I'm down. Cheap, cheap, cheap...good, good, good. Just make sure you have cash before going or pay the $2 fee at their ATM.
We had the duck noodle soup and the red curry. Both were awesome, but the curry was some of the best I've ever had. Their liquor license is pending, but they did let us bring in our own beer with no cork fee. Awesome. Made for a very cheap night out. Oh, and we saw Adam Goldberg stroll in.
I will definitely be back.
My friend told me about this place and raved about their thousand year old egg salad. At first i thought it was a bit strange but i gave it a try anyways. They dont have this on the menu, you have to order the fried egg salad with the thousand year old egg instead. Result? amazing, quite spicy but very yummy.
Tom Yum soup was delish as well, A bit on the spicy side but not too overpowering to the point where you cant taste any of the other ingredients.
Service was quick and friendly. I think i found a new favorite thai restaurant.
It takes several visits to Ruen Pair to come to the conclusion that it's... pretty good Thai food. Crispy fried fish with onion and spices might conquer all other dishes on the menu - you'll want to enjoy it cut, not whole, as the bits of fish are chewier and more steeped in the flavor of the dish rather than the flavor of the sea. Bonus: no eyeball. The pork omelette is thin and full of meat and manages to contain a lot of egg and yet not overwhelm with egginess. The papaya with chili salad is good but rather monotonous in flavor and overwhelming in volume. And the crispy pork with Chinese broccoli is best enjoyed quickly as the fried pork bits tend to lose their crispiness after soaking in the sauce.
With Red Corner Asia merely steps away, making an argument to go here is a little like trying to convince yourself to go to the Starbucks next door to Susina. But, Ruen Pair is open until 4 in the morning, which kind of makes it the Thai Jack in the Box: fast, possibly drunk crowd, and totally satisfying without changing your world 4eva.
EXOTIC & FINE TASTING THAI FOOD WITH NICE SERVICES!
I yelped this place decided to give it a try over the weekend.
One of the most impressed Thai restaurant that I have been in a long while. Their dishes are all tasty and portionable. Four of us picky porkers wiped out the whole table of food clean(& we weren't even fat). Prices are cheap, which add to the upside of my rating!
Service is fantastic. The head waitress kept coming over to ask us how the meal goes. We get water service twice(rare in Thai restaurant now a days). Here are four dishes that we ordered:
***** Papaya Salad with crushed peanuts and cashew nuts - So good!
**** Marinated raw crab with spicy sauce - Exotic sea flavor, love it!
***** Salty catfish pan fried with crispy mint leaves - Wow, more rice pls!
**** Battered fried oysters with bean sprouts - Kinda like tempura Thai style.
Would go back there in a heartbeat. Too bad we live in OC. Parking might be a problem during the noontime, but there's a valet service. We being el cheapos parked 2 blocks away. Anyhow, I'll walk three blocks for Ruen Pair!!!
