This is my go-to place after enjoying a wonderful day in the nearby mountains. Rudi's has solid sandwiches such as the yummy "Thanksgiving" sandwich consisting of turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and cream cheese.

I also love the veggie wrap which is chock full of all of my favorite veggies plus avocado, hummus and yummy vinaigrette dressing (That's how I get it anyway..they are totally cool with customizing it however you want).

And Rudi's may just have on of the best cole slaws in Colorado. It's a vinegar-based slaw with a nice sour kick and all the crispness you'd expect from really fresh cabbage. No gross heavy mayonnaise on this slaw.

The soups are also top-notch especially the veggie chili. Best of all, the service hear is friendly and efficient. The deli also has great long hours which is perfect for me because I always want to eat after skiing or hiking in the mid-afternoon and for some reason a lot of Winter Park restaurants close during this time period. But I know I can always count on Rudi's to be open and serving up some great sandwiches and superb slaw.

Still a definite go-to when in Winter Park.

I tried the pasta salad this time --elbow pasta, kalamatas, tomatoes, and feta with a light dressing -- most excellent.

I still need to hit up their Englewood location to see if it lives up to WP's original.  Even if it falls short, something tells me it will still be pretty dang good.

I love their sandwiches, The Bacon Boy is awesome. The pasta salad is some of the best I've ever had. I stop every time I'm in Winter Park.

Definitely a great sandwich place!!! Can't wait till the next time we come to Winter Park. There was only one guy working but he was awesome, taking orders and busting them out pretty quickly. My bf wanted to make sure we gave props to the guy. He was friendly and was working really hard.  We went for an early super casual dinner. We've been eating out a lot and wanted something a little more basic. Their menu has a ton of variety. At least thirty different types of sandwiches: meat lovers, vegetarian, paninis and soups.

    Here's what we ordered:

Timberline turkey panini - roasted turkey breast, red pepper aioli, marinated artichoke hearts, fresh mozzarella ($8.50) Big sandwich!!!  At first I was a little worried about the artichoke hearts. Sometimes they're a little too salty or vinegary for a sandwich. But this one was chock full of yummy tender artichoke hearts marinated perfectly and had a light but flavorful taste. The turkey was good, lean, moist and just right. And the mozzarella - I wasn't expecting real thick slices of fresh mozzarella on my sandwich!!! It was perfect, not overdone, just right.

Poachers pastrami panini - lean pastrami, banana peppers, Swiss cheese, Dijon vinaigrette coleslaw ($8.50) The bf devoured his sandwich in about five minutes. Nuff said. I didn't get to try a bite but according to him it was really good and he would definitely order it again. He also really liked the pasta salad. It was simple, a little cheese, light vinegarette, tomatoes and kalmata olives - not too salty and just the right compliment to the sandwich.

Overall, this place is great!!! We will definitely be back to try other selections on the menu!!!

I've been on a bit of a sandwich kick.  I think it's the summer heat and I want something simple, cool and refreshing..

On the way home from Grand Lake on the 4th we stopped in Winter Park to get some grub and be filled with less hate for the ridiculous traffic. I order Danny's Italian and my wife ordered the Roast Beef.

I usually win the ordering war (the unspoken game of who ordered the better dish).  I give credit to age and being chubby... but not this time.  She kicked my ass.  That roast beef panini with roasted red peppers, chipotle aioli and melted cheese. So good.

Danny's Italian was good, but the Italian at Lenny's is better. Also... Lenny's damn relish.  I'm ruined for a deli sandwich without it.

Best sandwich I've had in a very long time!

A few of us stopped by here on the way up to Grand Lake for the 4th after a much needed lunch after trudging the traffic from Denver.
They had an amazing lunch special that just couldn't be turned down: $7.50 for a half sand, side, and a beer!! I had the Grilled Anipesto, house potato chips, and a Stella. Wonderful....and they had quite a few options for us veggie lovers....and plenty that looked great for the meat lovers too!

Life was good sitting on the patio with my two pals, two dogs, and my yummy lunch. I'll make it a point to stop there each and every time I pass through Winter Park.

It says they have the best sandwiches in town....why wouldn't we go in and eat?

Soo cold, we immediately notice the amazing smelling soup..the lobster bisque was being made so we sampled the Chicken Curry Peanut and whoa! Sold! (Before we left we sampled the lobster bisque, good but nothing like the hearty curry soup.) A cup came with soft wheat bread..pretty much a perfect meal.

The menu is huge with choices for carnivores, herbivores and panini lovers. The menu is written on the side wall and my boyfriend and I came to choose the panini reubens. His with corn beef, mine with turkey. Perfect amount of saurkraut and 1000 island.

I chose the coleslaw and I swear the amount they gave me was bigger than the sandwich..not your cheap little side..literally cups of it with a tasty, light vinagrette. Very good and too much for the two of us to share. Deal breaker.

We volunteer at and ride Winter Park a lot and will definitely be back. Next time I'll only get half a sandwich, cup of soup and coleslaw for their "Value Plate" for $8.25.

This is a great spot for lunch while in WP. Their soups are a crowd pleaser and the sandwiches are large and filling. One of the better values in a town that can hit the wallet when eating.

Decent sandwich, but a bit pricey. At least it will fill you up. We liked the italian style cole slaw.

Being a big fan of sandwiches, I am always looking for a new place to eat one. While taking a wonderfully scenic drive to Winter Park, I ran across Rudi's Deli. While driving on an empty stomach, I was hoping to come across some sort of local eatery, the kind you tell your friends about and beam with pride as you do so. The word 'deli' had my eyes turning like an owl preying on a rabbit, so I quickly turned into their cramped little parking lot, excited to see what awaited within.

I walked in and saw that the menu was painted onto the wall. Pretty creative. There were so many sandwiches to choose from that it was hard to pick one so I just did a general scan and picked out a couple which looked good and asked the girl up front what she liked. Without telling her what I was deciding between, she recommended the Turkey Avocado Melt which I had at the top of my list. Since she was cute and was wearing shorts, I thought "hey, this girl has good taste and obviously knows how to take care of her body, she must be right". I think she must drink a lot of milk. Her frame looked strong and healthy. Anyways, that's beside the point. I made eye contact with her throughout the transaction, just like the internet articles have told me to do. She asked me if I would like coleslaw, pasta salad, or chips and I wanted to say "I'll take your number instead" but being the smooth cat I am, I said coleslaw because it seemed the most healthy of the three and I wanted her to know that I dabble in physical exercise and healthy nutrition. I paid with my debit card so she would know I'm a cash type of guy. The money's in the bank young lady, no credit for me. I was also wearing my company polo shirt which possibly showed I am a man with a full-time job. Chics love that...

So moving on, I was told I could sit down and she would call my name when my food was ready. I went to the soda fountain to get my usual diet coke with a couple shots of Dr. Pepper at the top (it gives me the Dr. Pepper taste without so much sugar) and took a seat at a table where I could see any cute girls if they were to walk in. I call it 'seat with a view'. She called my named and I loved hearing her say it (I wish I had it on tape). I sat down with my sandwich and gave it a good look; scanning for detail (yes I just used a semi-colon) and played out the soon to come partaking in my head, teasing myself before I was to commence my consumption. Hurt so good baby. I took my first bite and was immediately hit with the delightful taste of avocado, tomato, and the delicious taste of what I believe to have been homemade bread. It was kind of like a honey wheat and my taste buds loved it. After the next bite I detected more of the honey mustard sauce which they put on there and after placing the sandwich down after that bite, I saw some had spilled onto my finger. I looked at my napkin and thought 'no way I'm wiping it off on that thing' and proceeded to place my finger in my mouth to savor the deliciousness of the stray sauce. After finishing the first half of the sandwich in record time, I decided to grab for my fork and sample the coleslaw which was nestled tightly against the other half of my sandwich. I first noticed this coleslaw was not your normal mayonnaise-drenched family reunion/picnic at the park coleslaw. Being the curious man I am, I saw the cute girl up front as she went to adjust the napkin holder right next to me, and decided it was a great opportunity to talk to her and to also have my question answered. Talk about killing two birds with one stone...I said, "excuse me" and she didn't realize I was talking to hear and not the weird, loud couple sitting behind me. I said it again and she then turned around and gave me that look like, "oh I have identified you were speaking to me, what can I do for you?" I then asked her what type of dressing the coleslaw was in, for it was very unique and unlike any other coleslaw I have consumed in my long history of coleslaw consumption. She gave a slight grin and told me it was a honey dijon vinaigrette. Surprised, this new revelation made me feel as if I now knew grandma's most private kitchen secret. Of course, honey dijon vinaigrette! Why didn't I think of that? I told her I really liked it and she said 'yea, isn't it good? It's healthy too.' There she went with her health talk again and I loved it. So after that she returned behind the counter and I dug my fork into my last couple bites of coleslaw. I sat in solitude for one final minute (okay probably like 10 seconds) and glared down at my empty basket, knowing I may not return to partake of such deliciousness for many months to come. I stood up, placed my trash in the waste container and stacked my little red basket neatly on the others which had once contained other delightful food I am sure brought many smiles to many faces.

In conclusion, I highly recommend Rudi's Deli to all who pass and will part by saying, "don't hit on the cashier, she's mine!"

This is one of the best places for lunch in Winter Park.  I've been a fan for over 10 years and still not bored of the menu, and they recently started serving beer and wine... nice!  My favorite is the value plate with the turkey avocado sandwich, pasta salad and chili.  If you're in Winter Park, this is a must for lunch in the winter and summer!

Having been away from Rudi's for some time now, I could be romanticizing just a bit...but Rudi's makes some of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten so I feel compelled to write a review. The bf and I used to get Rudi's every day we skiied before making the drive back to Colorado Springs. The knowledge that I would soon be devouring half of a baked artipesto, followed by a half veggie sub and sometimes, if I really pushed myself for that extra Railbender, one of their amazing brownies. They bake their own bread and I seriously dream of its perfect texture and taste. You can't walk away from here not feeling great and thats about all you can ask for.
