I have dined here twice, both times ordering the same exact thing, however, getting drastically different results.
My boyfriend and I decided to try this newly-opened restaurant one Saturday night, as he is a big fan of barbeque and I am up for anything. The place was crowded, but with no wait, good service, and gimmicky names for dishes like "Heck-Of-A-Meatloaf" and "Don't Touch My Chicken Pot Pie".
I had the BBQ grilled shrimp and he had the ribs and brisket combo, both came with our choice of two sides and cornbread. My shrimp was a little spicy and tasted like it had been marinated before it was grilled. Being as I don't eat meat, I have to take my boyfriend's word that his ribs and brisket were tasty. He is a very picky eater and it is rare that he finds a meal he enjoys as much as he enjoyed this one. The sides were delicious, especially the creamed spinach, and there were many different options to choose from--always a bonus.
Because we had such a great dinner experience there, we decided to stop in for lunch one afternoon, and both ordered the same meals. I've heard that restaurants have better foods on weekend nights than they do at all other times, and it is definitely true for this place. My shrimp was overcooked and tough, and instead of being marinated just had some barbeque sauce slathered on top. My boyfriend's ribs and brisket were tough and dry and looked like they were leftovers from the night before, if not older. We ordered corn on the cob, but we got a dish of canned corn that hadn't even been drained of the excess water.
I don't know how a place can pull such a Jekyl and Hyde routine on us but it totally did. -

By chance we stopped in. There is really nice seating area outside. (it is getting a bit chilly for it tho.) The inside is nice ... Full bar. A bit too dark for me. The waitress was super nice and very attentive. The only thing i would have liked is if the food was serviced a bit quicker. The food was good. Very visually appealing. The price I thought was a bit high. But that is just me. If it a special occasion ... like a wedding anniversary... A 1st date to impress... Etc.

This fairly new BBQ joint (complete with gluten free menu!) is great. I went on a Friday night, and it was busy, but not packed. Service was prompt and friendly. The baby back ribs had that great smoked taste, and the brisket was tender. I enjoyed their full bar, too. I'm definitely going back.

I was very excited to see this place open. I figured with a company backing it with other restaurants that were successful that this place would be great as well .The Long Island BBQ scene has not been that impressive. SMokin Als and Swinbellys turn out some good food but it sure can be better. My first two visits were not so good to this joint. The meats were not cooked correctly and lacked any good flavor. I am originally from North Carolina so trust me I have eaten some of the best in the country. I went back on Thursday for a 3rd and possibly final visit to give them a fair shake. I must say I was pleasantly surprised, the food has greatly improved. Apparently they hired a new pitmaster. The food has a ways to go before being the best on LI but I can really see the potential here. What I would really like to see is the pork offered with a vinegar sauce. The pork should also be served coarse chunked not finely shredded , The ribs were cooked perfectly. The brisket could of used more smoke and would of nice if it had some aujus on it. Sides were decent. I did not like the chili at all.
