Erin Graffius is the best recruiter ever! I applied to a bunch of temp agencies and Ruby Peak was one of the temps that emailed me back right away.

I met Erin in person not expecting too much since I didn't have much success with other temps. I filled out paper work and spoke with Erin briefly about what I was looking for. After I left, I didn't know if I'd hear from her since our meeting was so short.

However, a week later Erin gave me a rang at 9:30am about a part-time contract position at Wikimedia as a Recruiting Coordinator. I was sooo stoked! I didn't sleep for two days because I  was worried about the interviewing process.

Fortunately, after the second interview, I started the following week which is this week and I absolutely love it so far! I highly recommend Ruby Peak Recruiting and Erin as a Recruiter! She is on top of it. In addition, Talissa is great too. She is the Office Manager of Ruby Peak.

David Goldman is by far the best recruiter I have ever worked with!!! I believe this is due to his no-B.S. approach to placing people. I sent in my resume for review and immediately got a response from his team to come in and meet with David(they were all very friendly and pleasant each time I spoke with them and/or went to the office). In my meeting with David, he went over my background and then we talked about my wants/needs. He told me he would not even submit me for any positions that did not line up with what we had discussed. I think this is why David really succeeds at placing people in jobs they love; he listens and does his due diligence. Unlike other recruiters who will submit you for anything that lands on their table, David is selective and makes sure it is a good match for you and the employer.

David sent me on two interviews. I got an offer after the second interview, which I couldn't wait to accept. Not sure what else to say: David was honest, straightforward, extra helpful, and always available throughout the entire process...I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Yay! Jim Powell is awesome! He called me today with a lead for a job and when I told him I had just accepted an offer, he was so happy for me.

Jim really is a great guy to work with and I would highly recommend him.

David Goldman is hands down the best recruiter I have ever worked with.  I have been at my current job for just over a year and couldn't be happier.  David was extremely communicative and supportive during the entire interview process, and I doubt that I could have gotten my current position without him.  Ruby Peak has continued to refer great candidates to our firm, and David doesn't make a recommendation that he doesn't think is a good fit for both the employer and potential employee.  He's looking for long-term placements, and he won't make a recommendation unless he thinks it's a great fit.  I'd highly recommend working with him whether you're an employer or job-seeker.

Funny how the 5 star positive reviews ALL practically begin with the same sentence.  Gee I wonder if they are all written by the same person ?  Hmmm.   That's what I love about Yelp - it's so reliable.  Just write a positive review about yourself, then go to your competitor's reviews and write a negative review.  Accountability?  You decide.
I've emailed them my resume and never heard back.  Why would I expect a call?  It's a recruiting firm!  I hope nobody suits up and goes in here expecting anything.

Jim Powell is a "rock star!"  He is the BEST recruiter I've ever worked with. That is saying a lot since almost every job I've had was through a recruiting agency.  I never once felt like I was just a number (as it did with the other recruiter I was using).  He's very thorough in his interview process.  He's not just interested in placing someone just to place them.  He really wants to make sure it's the right fit for both his client and you.  I decided to move out of state so Jim obviously isn't able to help me now.  If I ever decide to move back to SF I will hunt him down. ;)  All I have to say is my new recruiter has big shoes to fill!

Yesterday was my first day interviewing in a San Fran recruitment office. I have recently moved here from the East Coast and have a more legal background. The market being what it is, I thought it was time to market myself via a recruitment agency. I interviewed with premier staffing that same day. Comparatively speaking, I think Ruby Peak is more personable, devotes more time to the client instead of a more conveyor belt approach of their competitors, but I am waiting to see which one comes through in terms of their follow up. I've read a lot about recruitment agencies promising to follow up and never doing so! We'll see. As a matter of first impression, this agency seems really humane and friendly.

i'm a little frustrated since the last time i reviewed ruby peak. my last review is featured under the testimonials on their site. i've started searching again and keep getting a lot of what i would call "nice no's." a situation happened and i was let go from the position i was last placed in.
i understand the state of the job market, along with my personal situation perhaps changes the dynamic of the average job seeker, however honesty would be better than continuous "nice no's."

Hands down, the WORST recruiting firm ever.

I submitted my resume via email and also followed up with phone call 3 times. David Goldman told me one sentence, "We'll see about it." And HANGS UP on me.

I would add that I was extremely polite. He never returns voice calls, never replies emails.

I have nothing but positive things to say about David at Ruby Peak.  Within one week of sending in my resume, I met with David, interviewed for a job, and took the offer.  David asked questions to understand me, what motivates me, and what I was looking for.  Thanks to his amazing listening skills (and obviously his wonderful recruiting skills), he helped place me in the perfect job.  I couldn't be happier and I couldn't be more grateful for David's help!

    I highly recommend Ruby Peak!

    UPDATE:
David found me a fantastic  **perfect** job. It's a place I can start a career and I'm SO excited to start on Thursday.
    ************************************************
I gotta say I have a staffing and HR background so it means a ton when I say Ruby Peak is the shiznit. David Goldman gets excited about placing you, your experience, and what he does. He follows up to make sure you are as prepared as humanly possible and really finds you a place where you fit. The rest of the staff is equally awesome.

Big thanks to Ruby Peak! You've made my job hunt at least 5% less painful!

I remember this guy, David, who used to be my recruiter from the Alan J. Blair days.   What should that tell you, first off?  One of the worst recruiting agencies in SF ever.  David never was able to place me in years I'd been registered there.  (He said he'd have difficulty placing someone with a lot of "temp" on their resume--I didn't have much then.)  I found out he'd founded his own firm and decided to try him again here.  (This was years ago.)  Big mistake.  When you see someone's colors don't ever think he'll change.

He met me once in his office and said he'd call with opportunities.  That was also a load of bull just like at AJB. Another year or two rolls around and I decided to contact him yet again because he has jobs posted on the web.  So, he chats all nice and friendly on the phone, I send him my resume, and he writes, "Maybe I'll have better luck this time placing you!"  What the hell does this mean from some so-called "recruiting veteran"?  You think you "might" have better luck placing me this time?  Why would that be?  I know lip service when I hear it.  He is the worst, egotistical, shallow, non-caring recruiter I've ever met and I'll be sure to not recommend him anywhere whether it be for a business or to friends looking for work.  He will never call you and just let you drop off the radar.

Ruby Peak is synonymous with = No results, ever.

Yes, Ruby Peak is surley the shiznit. (Remove the 'izn' in the middle and what have you got?  One classless, tactless, rudea** business.)

I don't really know how to explain some of the other reviews, because David is very hands on and responsive. I wasn't sure at first about wanting to interview for a new job and he was sure he had the right fit for me. He gave me great pointers for interviewing and was honest with his feedback. I only interviewed with one company and got the job. It's been over a year now and I am finally at a great place that I love. Good luck with the job search!

It has been over a week and repeated attempts at contact have been unsuccessful. I have no idea why they do not even respond to someone looking at using their services. If I am not someone they can work with or if they do not get positions that will be a fit for me then simply send a short email stating so.

I just realized that the negative reviews are filtered, had I known that I would likely have went elsewhere anyway. They seem to have as many negative reviews as positive.

Update: They did email me today. The person who emailed me says she has been out of town. I am fine with that but would be nice to respond a little earlier.

I highly recommend David at Ruby Peak Recruiting.  I got laid off in July and had been out of work for 2.5 months.  Having a background in HR and having negative experiences with other recruiting firms in San Francisco, I was skeptical.  But, because I had been out of work for so long, I figured that I may as well give him a try, plus the great yelp reviews really helped boost my confidence about the situation.

During our first meeting David was very thorough, honest, and seemed to ask the right questions.  He thought he had a good fit for me and we decided to pursue the opportunity.  Throughout the process, David was attentive, reliable, and really advocated for me and my needs.  He even coached me on interview skills and had a very personal approach to his placement technique.

I ended up getting the job and am very pleased!  The job is extremely unique, very exciting, and a great fit.  I highly recommend Ruby Peak and David to anyone that is out of work and looking for a great new job!

I highly recommend Ruby Peak and David Goldman. David has an uncanny ability to "cut to the chase" in deriving the essence of what characteristics in a candidate are most important to his clients. He saved me countless hours, and produced a candidate we hired who is just fantastic. I so appreciated David's attention to detail, communication and follow-up. If you are seeking to hire, and are thinking of going it alone, don't be foolish. Contact David. The time and energy you'll save, and the perfect fit in a candidate you'll end up with, are well worth it.

Since the previous incident I met David who was great at immediately lining up 2 great opportunities for me. He also spent a ton of time going over the interview process, the questions I'd be wise to ask the potential employers, and how to respond to any tricky questions. As a result I walked in completely confident about the job. I'm proud to upgrade my previous rating.

    -------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------
They have not responded to my application by e-mail (twice). I called in (got sick of waiting) and was told that they will call me in for an interview only if a suitable role become available for me.

Given that their focus of job placement is administrative ( I have around 2.5 yr-admin experience in the finance industry), I don't really understand how they have nothing available whatsoever for someone with my experience and background.

Having said that, I've come to accept that I probably wasn't their ideal candidate. However, I do consider it hugely unprofessional and rude that they couldn't be bothered to return my emails.

A simple two line email reply to the effect "We do not think Ruby Peak is the right agency for your needs" would have prevented the waste of my time.

All I can say is that David Goldman worked wonders.  My resume needed some help and David took the time to brainstorm with me and gave me valuable input.  David worked very hard to help me each step of the way!  And this in turn helped me land a fabulous job.  I start at the end of the month and I am truly excited.

Since January I have been working with several recruiting firms and none of them took the time or invested the energy that David did.  If you want someone who is going to listen to you and work for you, you MUST call David at Ruby Peak!  He's the best!

Moving back to the Bay Area in this job market had me a little stressed.  I shouldn't have been!  Talissa from Ruby Peak emailed me via LinkedIn on the Fourth of July about a job they were recruiting for - these folks take their work seriously!   The job sounded too good to be true, but I called her the next day.  I was immediately transferred to David Goldman.  He is a direct and to the point kind of person, but also easy to talk to.  He was also very accommodating...he wanted to meet me in person before sending me out to his clients, but I hadn't yet moved to the area, so we did our initial interview via Skype.  Things moved quickly from there.  He kept me very busy interviewing for the initial job they'd contacted me about, as well as for several other opportunities - all of them right up my alley.  I think he has a good knack for honing in on what a person's strengths are and the kind of environment for which they are best suited.  As a result, all of my first round interviews resulted in call backs for second and sometimes third rounds.  Less than three weeks after making contact with Ruby Peak, I received an outstanding offer from the company that I was originally called about!  David was there throughout...calling before the interviews to make sure I was prepared and to see if I had questions, checking in after meetings to find out how things went, and through the negotiation process - which was painless because of his expertise, btw.  He and his team are very dedicated and even made themselves available evenings and weekends.  They also seemed sincerely pleased when I got an offer (yes, I know they make money from the placement...but it still seemed sincere).  Lastly, they also contacted me after I started my new job to see how things were going.  I would highly recommend working with David and his team!  True, dedicated professionals with talent!

I have worked with David Goldman as both a Candidate and a Client.  It is without hesitation that I give him top marks and strongly recommend his services.
As a candidate, he found me my dream job, offering support at every step of the way.  He worked with me to improve my resume, listened carefully to my needs in order to find a match for my search criteria, coached me throughout the entire process, and successfully negotiated my salary.  He followed up several times after my start date to make sure the job was a fit, and that I was happy and adjusting well.  The job search process is a stressful one, and David assuaged my fears and coached me to hone my interview skills.  It felt as though he took a personal interest in finding me the perfect job.
I am now a client of Ruby Peak Recruiting, and David has placed 3 fantastic employees for us.  He listens intently to every detail of our need, and works diligently to find both the skill set fit as well as the cultural fit.  His attention to detail and customer service exceed expectations.  He is an absolute pleasure to work with, and we wish him continued success.  Thank you, David!

I had the pleasure to work with David for several years and know for a fact he would like nothing more than to help everyone he meets find work.  The simple fact is as a Recruiter you can't help everyone that you meet.   David tries every day to arrange interviews for all his candidates but at the end of the day it is the client who ultimately decides who they will agree to meet for interviews and who they won't.

When I moved to San Francisco, I met with four recruiters. Of those four, David Goldman was by far the most professional, courteous and respectful. Every time i called to check in, he was either there to take my call or actually returned it within a reasonable amount of time. He seemed actually committed to finding me a position with a company that fit my needs. I can't say that about the other companies. Just feeling like someone is actually on your side means a lot during a rough bout of unemployment. Definitely recommended!

I had worked with Ruby Peak, specifically David Goldman during my job search.  They were the most professional and hard working firm I have worked with hands down. My initial interaction with Ashley in the office was extremely receptive and responsive.  After describing where I was at in my career and where I want to go, David gave me the best advice on how to reflect it on my resume.  Although the economy is not optimal, David was attentive and contacted me weekly to ensure that if something that was a perfect fit came along, he would consider me.  He was creative in his search, and has great business relationships and clients that I would never have access to.  Without reservation, I would highly recommend anyone who is searching for the next great job, reach out to Ruby Peak.  They will work hard to assist you and help you in your search.  In comparison to the other companies I've worked with, they will listen to you carefully and take you seriously.
