3 reviews for Rubio's Baja Grill
A review based on a brief visit to sample what a friend considers to be one of their best items: fish tacos.
It's Fish Taco Tuesday or something like that. The taco was very good. I tried two sauces and some very fresh cilantro. The verde sauce was excellent. The other sauce, a red sauce, overpowered the fish. The corn tortilla was OK; I'll try the flour tortilla next time.
Very clean; friendly staff; cheerfully decorated. Leaves the Taco Bells I've been to in the dust.
Conclusion: Great value for the money: $1./taco.
I've been here probably 8 to 10 times now, and I have yet to get really bad service, or bad food. The service, food, and everything else, is pretty consistently good. That's more than I can say about a lot of places. I'm not a big fan of fish, so I can't vouch for their famous fish tacos, but their burritos and tacos are pretty good. They aren't "authentic" Mexican food per se, more of the fresh, slightly Americanized food you would expect from a Mexican food chain. It's a bright, clean place with a salsa bar and an outside dining area.
Average fast mexican food but much better than a taco bell.
What more can you say about a place location in the burbs of Tucson in a familiar strip center.
