Royal Bagel Bakery

We recently had the opportunity to try out
Royal bagel bakery in the DMV. We got breakfast sandwiches I got the sausage egg and cheese on an Egg Everything Bagel I don't know why more bagel shops don't make this style bagel but it is a game changer. This sandwich was so good a little dry but nothing a little onion cream cheese didn't help out which is also house made.

The service is very good for a wonderful small little bakery

The overall experience is nice very small so for staying in the dining area it can get cramped quickly

Mehhh this place has gone downhill IMO. We didn't go during "covid time" because of the silly rules but we just came back recently and neither of us were impressed.

BEC on a bagel had 1 small egg. I asked for well done bacon & it wasn't well done. My husband got the Penn Station, no tomatoes, and they added tomatoes and didn't add the hot peppers it was supposed to come with. As someone who worked in delis before, these are just careless/cheap mistakes.

Realistically there are much better options in the area for breakfast/lunch - go somewhere else unless you're in a pinch.

3 stars because they do have donuts, cookies, pastries etc. also, and those were good in the past.

Good donuts. HUGE selection. Reasonable prices.

My go to breakfast spot, BLT on a bagel is my usual or just a toasted bagel with cheese cheese.
Donuts and pastries are really good as well. And don't forget to order your pie's for the holiday season

Sandwiches are good. However the pastries taste stale like they have been sitting on a shelf for days. Being an actual NY native I was really disappointed with the pastries especially the donuts and cake. It's almost insulting. Oh and they way they charged me 86cents to add butter to my sandwich was really wack and pathetic.

The bagels, donuts and toppings are outstanding here. There is a great selection of deli meats and fresh breads/baked goods on the weekends.

The bagels are not too doughy and not too sweet. The donuts are fresh and light, some of the best non-chain donuts I've had in years.

The line is out the door for good reason -- it's a little bit of baked goods heaven in Germantown, of all places.

New to Germantown I usually love Bethesda Bagels and skip Einstein bagels. I'm not a full bagel snob but I guess kinda. I def don't buy from the grocery store. The horror. Anyhow, this place is legit! I'm so happy it's close. Every bagel cream cheese combo I've had is great and so are all the delicious pasteries. Donuts, cookies, cakes. All A+ support this local business you won't be sorry.

I got around to having some breakfast here today. I ordered a blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese and a cinnamon crunch cake donut. The bagel wasn't all that great, but the cream cheese was out of this world. Besides literally stuffing the bagel with so much cream cheese that it felt like a whole 8oz container of cream cheese was on my bagel; the cream cheese was extremely creamy, actually had blueberry pieces in it and it finished off with a complex flavor. I liked it very much because it didn't taste like Philadelphia cream cheese right out of the tub. If I am not mistaken, I think they make the cream cheese on premises. The cinnamon crunch cake donut is the best donut I have had here and I keep getting it, over and over again. ;) I took a picture of the outside, bagel and donut; I will update once I get home from work.
