Yup, they make a Korean Chicken sooo ono.  Went back, and it just gets better and better.  And the people that make the food exude the Aloha Spirit so well...

Fried Saimin too.  Soooo onoooo (goooood).  Makes me think twice everytime I see an L&L pink-ish Chicken Katsu here in New York City... maybe I should get the first flight to Portland and grab some real local kine grindzz.

So, I tried this place on my first night after moving to Portland. A friend had highly recommended it for being the closest place to get Hawaiian food. After two visits to get an accurate sampling of the menu, I'd have to say that while the food here tops places like L&L's, it can't compete with Bamboo Grove or Noho's in the Portland area for taste and quality.

I would go back to this place for the quick friendly staff, "in your neighborhood" closeness, and good comfort food. But if you've got the time there are better Hawaiian food places if you take the time to drive to Portland.

My daughter was begging for shoyu chicken all week.

So I took her in there two nights before Christmas. Uh oh.

They were out of almost everything, including (gasp)... shoyu! OH NO!

We got Orange Chicken instead, for five people. They packaged it family style for us, which I like. Rice in two containers, mac salad in another, chicken in two more...

    you know what?

It was DELICIOUS! Big relief. I didn't think my nine year old would survive this.

She did. The chicken was crisp, nicely sauced, had real pieces of orange zest in it I think, not too sweet, just right. Everyone ate it and was happy.

My brother in law, who had never had Hawaiian and thought the mac salad was weird until he bit into it... then he stole someone else's on top of his own. That good.

Next time, maybe we will go a little earlier, and not on  a Friday.

Maybe I shouldn't have yelped it so nicely??? Sharing is tough people!

I think I have a problem at this place. I'm thinking of suing Roxy's for an infinite supply of the best Hawaiian grill in town. Well... that was a funny thought that makes my tummy hungry.
This place is a total dive and every dish I tried so far was really good. The loco moco and chicken teriyaki are the best I ever had.

If you've never been here, stay away!  No seriously stay away.  I don't want ruin the wonderful vibe created by the genuinely nice and friendly staff.  I don't want to wait in line to get my hands on the tasty items that fill Roxy's menu.  I don't want to wait behind a 1st timer, who cannot make up their mind as to which way they will enter into food bliss.  Please stay away.  I want to keep Roxy's all to myself.  ;)

All there food is so Good.

The bad side is no restroom and very loud music makes it hard to eat inside - best get it to go if you have kids or a group of people you want to talk to across the table.

Buffet style to go, not a bad thing for them. the lunch line can be long for a lot of Nike people tend to go there a lot. So best to go before noon and just after 1pm, then the line is shorter.

There menu needs to change a little for its hard to see the prices so always ask. 3 or 4 times if they can hear you over the music.

This is a continuation of my search for yummy loco moco. I happened to be out in the Beaverton area and did a quick search for some good Hawaiian food and found Roxy's to have gotten a lot of positive reviews so I journeyed on over.

I got the loco moco and ordered up an extra side of mac salad. Staff was really nice and the order was cooked up in good time, with little waiting. The food was dang good and I was instantly happy with my choice of restaurants upon digging into the joyous super gravied goodness. There was enough gravy that I certainly wasn't left wishing I had more (which happens sometimes with my loco moco experiences). The mac salad was awesome and I took some home to my wife and she agreed that this stuff was "it". I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area, gonna have to try some other dishes too.

I go here about once a week and get the Terriyaki Chicken every time. Bento size is $4.50 and comes on a bed of rice. mmmmm, MMM! Cover it in the special Sriracha sauce or ask for it "extra fkn HOT" and they'll throw in a delicious spoonful of chili paste. Yes.

This is really one of the best Hawaiian place in town. If you went to OSU and ate at Local Boyz, you know their Mac salad is the bomb! But this place, let's just say that I don't have to drive down to Corvallis for good Hawaiian food again.

The Shoyu Chicken is a must try if this is your first time. The orange chicken is also really good, but it does take a bit of wait. If you are not in a hurry, it's totally worth the wait.

I love to go there before movies at Century. However, if go go there right before they close, don't be surprised that most of the items are sold out.

They used to take cash only, but now they take cards.

I am astounded I haven't written a review sooner! As often as I frequent this establishment and as loudly as I scream their praises from the rooftops this review has written itself.

Everything on the menu is GREAT! Sho-Yu Chicken with Rice only is my "go to" but the very first dish I ever ordered was the Orange Chicken. A few months ago I encountered the Sweet Garlic Teriyaki Chicken and when I have time to order it I most certainly do! Fried Noodles to substitute the white rice is a nice kick of spice.

Be sure to look for the house special blend of Sriracha/Teriyaki Mix and say "What's up!?" to Dino while you're there!!

I'm averaging this one out between two dishes.

So I came in on a Saturday afternoon on the way back from Portland, and score! they had Kalua Pork on a non-Tuesday/Friday!

The staff is super friendly, and will help out with special requests on your plate. (regarding the mac salad:rice -wink wink- )

BUT..... it was SO SALTY. It was like having the most comfortable bed ever, only it was at the bottom of the sea.  The pork had a nice smoky flavor, but the saltiness was just overpowering.  I had to eat 2-3parts rice per 1 part pork just to survive it!  maybe it was hold over from the day before and had been soaking in the juices.

I liked the mac salad, as it was very fresh, but it was a little on the blander side from what I'm used to.

Also tried the Loco moco, which I could totally see myself abusing far too often.  The beef patty was a thick, juicy, and a bit heartier that the typical frozen patties you see at other Hawaiian places.  The gravy went well with the more natural taste of the patty.  This dish came out great.

Next time: shoyu chicken + fried noodles

**if you see the Kalua pork on any day you drop in, ask for a taste first! check your saltiness at the door!

This place has great chicken hawaiian dishes. I love the shoyu and teriyaki chicken. Their steamed vegetables go great with their rice, chicken, and sauce. I am giving the place 4 stars because the atmosphere is a little lacking. but other than that, the place has great food and its reasonably priced. I really want to try the teriyaki burger next time I am there.

Bemoaning the new loss of Aiea Grill and their amazing potato-mac salad, we decided to give Roxy's a try.  Delicious mac salad.  Chicken Katsu slightly overcooked, but still okay.  Sauces flavorful.  Worthy of a return visit, but still doesn't fill the void.

    Sho-yu Chicken, FTW!!

I was finally introduced to Roxy's this past weekend & I'm already looking forward to my next visit. We arrived before the lunch rush & was served within 10 min of ordering. When I couldn't decide what to order from their picture menu they gave me a few samples of their meats & I fell hard for Sho-yu Chicken. It's sweet, juicy, tender & full of flavor. Their two scoops of rice & one scoop of mac salad are a tasty addition; three sides with choice of entree for only $6.50 @ lunch; WHAA?!?! Something else that's awesome is how much food is served for just one person. Holy moly I had so much leftover... I loved it!

I've had good hawaiian in Eugene & PDX but there's great hawaiian here in Beaverton. Roxy's is available to check out between 11am & 8pm, M-Sat but they need a day of rest on Sundays which is completely understandable with all that hard work preparing & serving incredible hawaiian eats! Check 'em out!

Wow, this is the type of place that combines so much deliciousness in a single portion at such a great price that it brought be back again the next day and the day after.

    Day 1 Sho-yu chicken:
This appears to be the all-time favorite, so I went for it. You have already read it on all the reviews... huge portions, juicy, sweet, delicious!

    Day 2 Kalbi chicken:
This also appears to be an all-time favorite. This one isn't sweet, it's grilled chicken but has the same huge portions and juicy delicious chicken!

    Day 3 Orange chicken:
I'm not a huge fan of orange chicken, but given the record-track on the past two days, I wanted to check try something different. It was spectacular! Fireworks were going off in my mouth. The outer layer was a paper thin crust that surrounded the chicken and the orange tangy breading which melted in my mouth.

After that third meal I drove to a rehab and admitted myself before a severe addiction could develop. I have since been a few days without Roxy's, but I have a feeling it won't be long before I go back to get my fix.

    Deleeeeesh-ous!

We had Roxy's the other night on a last minute dinner fix.  I was excited to try Roxy's with such high reviews and praises.  My experience was 3 stars.  I'm not saying they aren't a 4 or 5 star establishment, i'm saying that my visit was a 3.

Why? The food lacked.  The macaroni salad didn't do it for me, and usually that's pretty fail proof on my tongue. Hold on, I do remember thinking that the rice was cooked perfectly. It had a great texture.  The teriyaki chicken I had was rather simple or "safe" if you will...minor let down.

My wife's Shoyu chicken was a good tasting dish.  It was shredded really well and had lots of sweet flavor in it.

So really, I didn't mind the prices, the service was so memorable, that all I remember was paying for it.  I have no clue if a guy or girl helped me now I think about it...girl maybe?  Yea....anyhow....

I am not gonna count them out yet, I'll try it again, just hope they had an off day.

I consider myself a seasoned vet at Roxy's by this point.  My "check-ins" don't tell the whole story - I only got a smartphone as recently as January of this year, yet visited Roxy's about every other week during all of 2010.

There isn't another restaurant that I can eat at so frequently and not get sick of.  I think it's important to review the circumstances under which I've been to Roxy's:

Twice in one day?  Yep.  Lunch and dinner.
    Consecutive days?  Haha.  Oh yeah.
Multiple consecutive days?  I think my record is 4 days in a row.
Utilized their catering services?  Ayup.  For the 4th of July last year, I picked up a tray of shoyu, a tray of teriyaki chicken and trays of both sticky rice and mac salad for a friend's annual party.  Cost: $150-ish.  Result: 25 happy party goers, and I was happy to answer questions about the food for them.

They've got a debit/credit card option now.  The counter staff has gone through a bit of turnover recently, but they seem to have stabilized.  I would offer that if you get something to go, it's worth double checking your order by peeking in the lid, especially if they're busy.  On consecutive occasions recently they've slightly messed up my order a bit.  Which, to their credit, they've corrected instantly.

If you're going for lunch, I would absolutely recommend showing up either early (11:30 - 11:45) or late (1:00+), because high noon can be absolute chaos.

I miss Hawaii. I miss the food and the weather and the warm ocean. Thank goodness for Roxy's. I feel like I am walking into my mom's house, or one of my auntie's,  and the smells and Hawaiian Sun and pidgin english make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

The Chicken Tonkatsu reminds me of the lunch truck that used park out by our favorite beach. All salty and sandy and starving we would scarf down a plate of fried chicken, white rice, mac salad and Hawaiian Sun Guava juice before heading back into the ocean.

Thank you Roxy's for bringing a bit of home to me in the PNW.

    Mahalo for the Ono Grindz!

At long last I had good reason to be out way out in SW recently, and so finally had good enough pretense to stop by Roxy's. Been wanting to check them out for a LONG time! So very glad to know it was worth the wait!

Saimin noodles? Check! But what is this? No take out containers w/the Saimin???

Shoyu chicken? Magnificent. They make huge batches of it all at once, b/c, um, they sell so much of it...

Kalua Pig? Of course, but only on certain days, as with many (but not all) other Hawaiian eateries...

Loco Moco? Freakin' awesome braddah!  Cyber- high - five for that goodness! And the burger patty-- so thick! So tasty!

Musubi--- XXXXXX (gonnnnnnnnnnnnnng) no go on the musubi =(

Roxy's is a very solid 4 star place to get your Aloha fix; the building is custom built for drive-through service. Hey powers that be @ Roxy's: Would you kindly consider putting in a drive through? It could only help business skyrocket, and you deserve to skyrocket! and Musubi! How 'bout adding the quintessential Hawaiian snack to the menu? Don't even have to bring Spam to the menu (though it'd probably sell great if you did); just use the katsu chicken, etc. already on the menu....  pretty please, w/poi on top.......?!?

    mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm gooooooood....

Had a craving for Hawaiian food and asked the GF if she wanted it and she did. Looked at the watch it was 7:45 and the place closes at 8. Get in the car, drive through the red lights, drive over the sidewalk and rush right into the join at 7:55 and asked "if they were open?"

"Yea, were open until 9 during the summer"

Great, wasted all that precious gas. But now I know, and knowing is half the battle.

So I've been to this place a few times and I like it. It's Hawaiian but without the Spam...booo! But I do really like this place. The Loco Moco is fantastic. The beef patties are well seasoned and the gooey gravy is nice. This dish is the "Spoil yourself" dish if your on a diet.

The chicken dishes are not bad either, moist and not dry. The Kalbi chicken is something you need to try along with the Loco Moco.

The prices are pretty good. If you expect to be waited on, that's not happening. They'll call your name and you get for food. Easy as that. Service wise was alright. The Pepsi machine was out of Pepsi and they changed it quickly.

The aroma of the place smells so good when you go home you still smell it in your shirt...just makes you want to eat the shirt.

So yesterday, my co-worker came back from lunch. He'd mentioned he was going to some grill place that didn't sound impressive. He came back, and he said the food was bomb. Color me suspicious but there was much raving to be had. I had to try it, if only to disagree with him.

Holy Hawaiian Hannah, THIS IS SOME GREAT FOOD. I literally almost wrote a review while I was eating my meal today. I fortunately missed the lunch rush, but there were enough people in there to convince me this place stays busy.

The menu is simple - pictures of what they offer & what sides they have. I've never had shoyu chicken before so you'd think I can't judge it against other places. WRONG. I have no doubt this is the best I'll find nearby. Tender, juicy and full of flavor. I mixed it with the rice that comes with the platter and I tried to eat slow to make it last...fail. Too good to do that.

And I cannot stress this enough - do not miss the mac salad. This is a sin. That stuff was so delicious I can't even...well I'l try....creamy, well balanced.....DAMN it's good what are you doing still reading this review!?!??

Portions are good for a reasonable price. I was served quickly, with a smile and sent on my way with a to go box. I cannot wait to go back again. The only problem is I hate when food places know me...that means I go there too much. Guess I can't avoid it in this situation!

Side note: It's tiny, seating is sparse.

The wife picked me up from work yesterday and she wanted to have dinner at Roxy's. We've been there together a couple of times since my first visit. I'm upping my review to five stars because they are just so darn friendly. My wife was excited to see that they had her favorite flavor of Hawaiian Sun--Lilikoi Passion. The folks at Roxy's also knew how to properly pronounce her Hawaiian name when they announced our order was ready. That never happens.

We shared a katsu plate and brought one home for the boy. Good stuff. I could eat a tub of that mac salad. Very reasonable prices and generous portions, and with the friendly atmosphere, Roxy's is hard to beat.

When I moved up here a few years ago I was on a search for the best hawaiian food in Portland (according to my Mainlander tastes) When I lived in Euegen I ate Hawaiian food 2-3 times a week at Ron's Island grill and Hawaiian time (which is now in Portland) but I never quite found what I was looking for.

Eventually I gave up having eaten at some pretty decent spots, Bamboo grove was a stand out, but I grew bored of it quickly.. so I gave up.

Somehow I missed this place completley, it is awesome! My favorite place in Portland I will be making the drive to eat here a lot. I tried the Shoyu and Kalbi chicken. Both excellent, but the Shoyu was the best I have ever eaten. Falling apart tender and super moist still stewing in its awesome marinade. If you like island food go here

Beaverton's Roxy's Island Grill is quite the hangout. Seems that everyone from the Beaverton Police to the local store clerks are taking their lunch at Roxy's. It is not unusual to see a line extending from the cash register all the way to the door at Roxy's Island Grill.

There is a good reason for that. Roxy's Island Grill serves delicious food at rock bottom prices. You can easily have yourself a royal Hawaiian feast (including drink) for less than $10. The menu is small but the entrée selections are spot on. Some examples are the Teriyaki Burger, Shoyu Chicken, Loco Moco, Chicken Katsu, and Fried Noodles.

The seasonings are perfect at Roxy's and the proportions are correct. For example, teriyaki at Roxy's Island Grill does not mean that the food is swimming in teriyaki sauce. On the contrary, Roxy's meats pick up the teriyaki flavor nicely without overdoing it.

The interior of Roxy's Island Grill is a little worn out and the seating is extremely limited. You might want to consider take out at Roxy's. On my first visit to Roxy's Island Grill there was a young man who was just learning how to run the cash register. It was a toss up as to who was more confused by Roxy's ordering system, me or him. Later I heard the young man's fellow workers get on him about not offering mac salad. Felt more sorry for him that he caught hell than I felt sorry for myself for not getting macaroni.

The Hawaiian food at Roxy's Island Grill is definitely worth five stars. However, I deduct one star for the worn interior and the scarce seating. Would recommend Roxy's Island Grill for anyone looking for quality and inexpensive island foods.

Yup, just found my new lunch spot.  Shoyu Chicken is delicious and the macaroni salad was awesome.  $7 for a giant plate of food.  Guys behind the counter were friendly and fast.

When this place opened a couple years ago I would've given it 5-stars. Over the last several months the owners have put their focus on another location. As a long-time customer I feel this location has unfortunately taken a hit with quality and speed of service, as well as the quality of some dishes. As for their current rating I would like to give 2 stars, but I'll comprise with 3 since they used to be the best place to eat within 10 miles for less than $15. Hope you guys can return to form...

Thought I had reviewed this place earlier, but the iPad app says otherwise. Whatev.

I'm actually glad I went back to give Roxy's a second chance. My first experience was kind of "meh", but they redeemed themselves this time. The Sho-Yu chicken was outstanding. It had excellent flavor, and damn near melted in my mouth it was so tender. I can't remember what I ordered the first time I was here, but it must not have been the Sho-Yu.

Service was friendly and quick, (I came in after the lunch rush,) and prices were very reasonable.

Between Roxy's and Hapa grill, I'm covered for Hawaiian food in Beaverton.

Sunshine in your mouth even if its raining outside. One love. I had previously visited Roxy's and had some so-so kalbi chicken. For one the KC isn't my favorite dish but they were out of Kalua Pig, their famous burger, and a number of other items. I can't complain about a place that's so good they run out of food. I geddit.

Walked in today and got a 50-50 order of Kalua pig and Kalbi Ribs. The latter of which I love with little char. Everything was perfect, just the best grinds from a wonderful ohana.

Prices are lower than the surf in Oregon. Some of the best Hawaiian food around, and one of the best places you can possibly go to in Beaverton for a nice casual spot.

If you're laid back and looking for great food, Roxy's is it! If you're not laid back, you should probably work on that. :)

Had lunch at Roxy's today and it was my first experience at this Hawaiian restaurant. Fantastic food, exceptional and friendly service and the price was great.

I had the Orange Chicken which was very good. The price of $6.50 included two big scoops of white rice and a scoop of homemade macaroni salad.

I will definitely add this place to my lunch rotation. Highly recommended.

Southwest Portland? Not by about 6 miles...

Anyway, the shoyu chicken rocks. Good food, fast, at a good price, the mac salad is worth it all by itself. The space is small, so if you go during lunch hour on a cold rainy day, be prepared to do take out.

Top notch! There are better Hawaiian places in PDX but nothing in Beaverton. I had the Sho-Yu chicken, it was sweet and the chicken was cooked just right. The Mac salad is awesome. The portions are huge. The price was right. Ill be back.

Lots of food and cheap! Had the teriyaki chicken and YogaLady had the shoyu chicken which we exchanged because we preferred each others dishes.

I wasn't mad about the macaroni salad, but YL loved hers (big mayo fan, whereas I'm not), and the sauces (spicy and soy-something) were yummalicious.

Not a green vegetable in sight, but that's what salad bars are for - riiight?

    They finally take credit cards!!!!!!!!!

Seriously cheap and filling and delicious. They are super nice and service is always quick. The mac salad is awesome! I love the katsu because it's so crunchy but everything I've had is pretty much fantastic. The only item I didn't love was the fried noodles, it was a little too greasy and lacking in flavor. They have a nice selection of tropical sodas that pair nicely with the food. I really appreciate that there are lots of sauces to customize your meal - shoyu, soy, sriracha, etc.

My husband raved about this place for good cheap eats. When he finally took me there I was disappointed at their very limited menu. It was SO hard to choose that I couldn't make up mind (sense the sarcasm). I ended up choosing the chicken katsu with Mac and rice.

When I got my food it was of decent portion. First test was the Mac salad, that didn't make the cut and I gave it to husband to finish off.  Next was the chicken katsu, I dipped a piece into the katsu sauce & the sauce tasted quite familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it.  Then I realized it was BOTTLED Kikkoman katsu sauce!!  This place doesn't even make their own katsu sauce!!

Needless to say I've never gone back. They're prices is the only positive I have for this place.
