Finally a five star review. I was starting to think I was becoming a cranky old foodie who enjoyed whining about dining experiences and shooing kids off the front lawn.

Roxy's was simply, a delight. Colors and personality both splash sensationally on the walls and the place is a-buzz with warm and friendly "diner chatter". Booths, stools, chairs, whatever; there's a good amount of space for patrons. The busy but friendly staff is attentive and opinionated about favorites on the menu. The menu is ambitious but from the sample that we had, it does very well. The country fried steak I had was really one of the finest I've ever had. The portions were more than enough. When a giant Everything Bagel can be served as substitute to toast, you get an automatic 5-stars. Oh and another thing, when your breakfast potatoes (house fries) are a blend of perfectly seasoned potatoes AND sweet potatoes, you deserve 6 stars.

What? NYC Diner in the middle of Fremont? How did someone combine the best of both NYC and Seattle? I guess anything really IS possible!

This place makes you feel like you just got done with the bars in Manhattan and stepped into Fremont for a quick bite to eat. The food is authentic, with lots of corned beef and pastrami options, and NYC portion (read: HUGE!) options for all their sandwiches. But the art, decor, and people quite clearly scream artsy hip Fremont. It's cute, with much more fun art than anything serious. My favorite is the 24-hour same sex marriage drive thru sign on the back wall!

So don't be afraid of the pink, whether it's on the walls or in someone's hair. Relax and read The Stranger, dummy; you've got some good food coming!

$2 champagne cocktails and mini mary's paired with great, super-friendly staff? I love it! Keep it up!

Roxy's had more champagne cocktail options than I was expecting, so I ended up having two. I believe it was the Bombay Bellini (w/ mango puree) and the Russian ..... I can't remember the name, but I believe it was the one with the blackcurrant juice. They tasted like juice, I could consume WAY too many of them, and the two I had definitely got a buzz going.

I originally wanted one of the mini-mary's, but decided that their Mary is not for me because they use a spicy mix instead of putting actual tomato juice in there. (I love tomato juice, so I'm picky about that.)

I also tried the spiced tater tots and they were good, but nothing special. The only thing that I was slightly bummed about is that the waiter checked about my food order about 10 minutes before HH started, and I didn't feel right telling him I'd like to sip on my drink for another 10 min and order the appetizer when it became half-priced. It was only about $3 anyway, so... not really a big deal.

The customer service: Great. Not only did they come off as being generally cheerful/friendly, but the male was especially nice and diplomatic in the way that he asked me to move from the booth to one of the smaller tables (b/c those were saved for 2+ people).

I'm not ready to 5-star Roxy's yet, but it definitely has potential!

Notes:
+ Happy Hour means one half-priced app PER DRINK. I noticed this in small font on the menu.
+ Most of the champagne cocktails are $2 for single and $4 for a double, but some of them cost $4 for a single.
+ Most breakfast omelets go for about $9-11.
+ Most of their appetizer options are fried.
+ I was rather amused by how a number of menu items had "Russian" in the name... and most of those items included sour cream. I was a little amused by that because just about the only time I eat sour cream is when I'm at family functions. (I moved here from a suburb of St. Petersburg  in 1996)
+ NOT a good place to study, which was my original intention. The music was too loud, it's hard to get cozy in a chair, and the $2 delicious champagne cocktails are distracting.

I didn't know Seattle had a Jewish deli.  Chalah!  We went to Roxy's for breakfast.  I had the hash which was solid.  It was solid because it was no fancy added items in my hash.  Just a classic straight up deli style hash.  It was very good.  I haven't had a good classic hash in awhile.  The loud and bustling environment really adds to the experience there.  Servers are kind yet quick with the draw.  Great in and out with good food.  My wife got the Reuben.  It was good.  Best reuben yet in Seattle.

Roxy's was my very first Yelp review and I've decided it's time for an update because I love it just that much.

I know far too much about the servers here after being a regular for so long and I love it! One time they lost my ticket but comped my meal and my mimosa AND my coffee because they're that cool.

The food's still great, the specials are still interesting and the mimosas are still $2 or $4 for a double (which is a full wine glass of delicious champagne with a splash of orange juice.)  Roxy's is one of my favorite places in Seattle and it's without a doubt the place I frequent the most.

*Also I got it wrong in that first review - pitchers of PBR are $5 anytime.

Here is the thing, I love breakfast and drinking. I am also about the cheapest gal I know.

Let's start with the decor; AMAZING!  It reminds me of a slightly more sophisticated Lisa Frank and I am for it.

The service was great, our coffees and waters were constantly being refilled, but not in that servers all up in your face way,  more so the perfect timing kind of way.

The menus are so expansive! As a group of four we went in for a late breakfast, it took us roughly twenty minutes to make up our minds about what to order. There were so so many delicious looking options.

We order drinks while we discussed the pros and cons of the actual menu, I went with a peppermint hot chocolate (they had a lot of seasonal drink options which make me extremely happy) which put me back around four dollars, which is not that bad. There is also the largest selection of champagne cocktails this side of the u-district.

I ordered the latke sandwhich, which is the best use of a latke to date. It was a breakfast sandwhich (eggs, cheese, bacon, tomato) in between two latkes (potato pancakes). My friends ordered the tater-tot omelet (which also comes with a side of hash browns!) the pumpkin cheesecake pancakes, and the deluxe homefries (potatoes, sweet potatoes, feta, and other deliciousness)

Our waitress was great! after she rang us up we asked her to split the bill (i know i know asshole move, but i thought I had cash when I didn't) and she didn't give us the usually attitude that you get at most places, we really appreciated it!

Lunched with a friend at Roxy's today. This spot has earned another repeat customer. Service was fast and exceedingly friendly (thanks, Jamie!). My friend ordered a pastrami sandwich, which was so big I feared IT would eat HIM. I ate a Western Bacon Cheeseburger, served with fries on Jamie's recommendation. The burger was thick and juicy - much more ample than what I received when I ate at A Burger Place in the U. The fries were tater-tot crispy and perfect.

Roxy's also serves breakfast. All day. New fave breakfast place too? I'll report back and let ya know.

3 1/2 stars...oh Yelp, please give me half stars.

Anyhow, this place used to be a lot better...but I feel like my meal is shrinking every time.  I always order the latkes & eggs.  2 potato latkes, 2 eggs, and 3 strips of bacon.  Not bad at all.  The latkes are great, but this time they were flatter and smaller than I've normally gotten them.  I mean, because they were so flat, it was all really crispy and fried.  Sure, I like it that way, but sometimes it's nice to have the center be a little soft.  2 eggs?  Seriously?  It looked more like 1 egg, the egg sizes have gone WAY down. The boyfriend got the pastrami hash and it came with 2 poached eggs that were PUNY.  Get better eggs guys...seriously.

Overall the food is good and you're not going to find anything like this elsewhere in Seattle.  I just wish that this darn recession would get better and people could get back to the yummy big portions I'm used to having!

They bill themselves as a deli, which is not entirely accurate, since it is nothing like any deli I've been to. They also call themselves an east coast establishment on the west coast (seriously, wtf is with the west coast inferiority complex? why can't west coast diners just be west coast diners and not 'east coast diners on the west coast) which also isn't entirely accurate since the food they serve was delicious and nothing like anything I've ever eaten on the east coast (most of which isn't so delicious). I suppose I could go on, but I don't see the point; just go there (preferably not on a weekend) yourself and you'll see why west coast diners don't suck.

A Jewish style diner that serves as a place for overworked livers to take a nap? Seriously. They'll sense your poor liver's plea for help, send you to the back of the diner for some serious R&R(and eggs and coffee and hashbrowns).

Servers that get to know you after a visit or two to the point you're swapping sordid details about the prior night.

They serve breakfast all day and kick ass at it too.

I can get my matzoh on with a side of bagel? Love it.

It truly is solid place to get your breakfast on. The kitschy diner swells with people at almost any hour, but there never seems to be much of a wait. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is piping hot and fresh. They'll even leave a water pitcher on the table because we drink that much.

The scrambles have fresh flavor. The bagels are perfectly toasted. The freshly made jam is delicious. The specials are truly special.

I love this place. It's a must every time I'm in town.

Besides who can't get behind a place that sells underwear that has "Tongue is Good" plastered on them? You stay classy Roxy's.

Excellent service! Even though in the hilarious fine print on their menu it says "Please be patient during peak hours," the servers were extremely attentive. I think I got my water glass refilled four times in thirty minutes. My water rationing problem has never been accommodated like this.

The pancakes and fruit bowl I ordered were very standard down to the excessive honeydew. But they did not commit the sin of serving hard butter pats.

I don't know if they have better food on their 18-page menu and I just got unlucky. It's possible. Probably not though, because my dad's omelet and hash browns looked totally ordinary too.

In any case it was really cheap (are bellinis really $3 or is that a trick?) and we were treated like sultans of brunei.

I've come in here twice to purchase a bag of bagels for work and every time I get the same blond with awful facial piercings giving me attitude. It's just putting bagels in a bag...not asking you to build a rocket. I don't like faux alternative people giving me attitude at 7am in the morning.  So I won't be giving them any more of my money.

Ohhhhh Roxy's, you always make me feel so good!

Those scrambles, those tots, those amazing sweet potato fries, and even those regular fries, you make me feel so warm and loved.

I love all your greasy diner food! I feel so replenished and well fed after your meals! I promise to always stop in when i'm in town to eat your Russian and Greek scrambles, your veggie burgers, your hash browns.

Thank you for providing such satisfying foods!

Sidenote: On crowded and busy days, try to be patient with your server. That person has a lot of tables to take care of, and a lot of hungry irritable people to deal with. Be understanding of their stressful day. I heard people complain about service here. Go somewhere else if you can't understand what being "busy" means.

I went to Roxy's for breakfast one morning when I had some time to kill, and it was amazing!

I had the Veggie Heaven scramble which included veggie sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes and maybe spinach if I remember correctly. It was great. The hasbrowns were perfectly crispy and for once instead of fearing restaurant toast I was excited to see and taste some really  awesome toast. Very good indeed. The server was also really friendly.

The prices are a little high, but still, most likely worth it!

So I have been a fan for a long time, it started when they were in Ballard. Went for breakfast the other morning and it was TERRIBLE!!! The wait staff was the worst, the one girl was actually sitting at the bar with her head down when I had just ordered juice. She came back and was ohhh...I forgot. The person I was with ordered LOX and a bagle and everything was there but the LOX!!! seriously?? Food was good when it got sorted but the experience was not enough to bring me back. Another great place ruined by bad staff............

I LOVE ROXY'S.

Probably my most favorite establishment in Fremont.

- $2 mimosas (and a wide variety of juice/mixers to choose from)
- $3 wells (and not shitty wells, things that came out of a glass bottle)
- BEST BREAKFAST. Always get the homefries over the hashbrowns.
- BEST STAFF. I love everyone there so much. I would quit my job and serve at Roxy's in a heartbeat. However, there seems to be virtually... zero turnover, which I don't blame them for. It's so chill.
- The "bacon specials" section of the menu

All of their food is good... all of it! Scrambles, meaty things, fried things, pancakes, coffee, drinks; the array of greasy, delicious options is just dazzling. This is THE ultimate hangover spot. And every breakfast entree comes with a bagel option instead of boring ol' toast!

I go here all the time. After work, before work, during work (uhh just kidding, I would never drink a mimosa in the middle of the day, that would be SO inappropriate and uncharacteristic of me)... when I leave Fremont/Seattle one of the places I will remember mostly fondly will be Roxy's.

I only wish they stayed open later, as I like them better than any of the actual bars in the Fremont Ave./36th area.

Walked into Roxy's at 2:30 pm and with 6 or so open booths or average size tables nearly half the restaurant, was told for just one person I had to sit at the bar or the tiny table. Took my laptop and turned right around & went next door to Norm's where the service was immediately 110% better. I'll review the food here soon but honestly, I can't put up with snotty service from the get-go.  Bye bye Roxy's!

I went to Roxy's with two girlfriends recently because of the awesome reviews on Yelp. We were not disappointed! There is an INCREDIBLE selection on the menu and everything we ordered was fresh and very tasty. I loved the homefries... I felt a little healthier about my carb-o-rama breakfast (by choice) because of the added veggies in the not-too-greasy potatoes. My girlfriends raved about the challah French toast and the tater tot omelette. I was very impressed with the wheat toast, too. The coffee was fine and the service was also. We'll definitely be coming back to Roxy's!

burnt latke
expensive OJ
sarcastic service
interesting atmosphere
fantastic menu!!!!!!
good looking servers with wonderful assets
sarcastic service
fantastic menu!!!!!! :)

you get the point?

the menu is very diverse, lots of choices, the prices are ok....bit on the steep side for what you get, the OJ is good, but pricey.....my latke was burnt, oh the poor Jew in me is shivering....

the service is fantastically sarcastic at times and i am ok with it as the servers are generally very attractive and that appeals to the hetero in me....wait....that doesnt sound right....you get the point....

I had some great company as i enjoyed my breakfast and got a bit of history on heartbreak from Christina, who by the way doesnt like the "shot" that is named after her....weird when i ask what is her favorite and the reply i think they are all gross....not a very good sell :) but that reality is probably what gives this place its kitchy charm...

would i return? hell yea...i plan on returning very soon to try their pastrami sandwich

would i recommend this place? of course...its got a killer menu

should you try it? you better....while you are down there, go see the troll

I've enjoyed meal's at Roxy's for a few years.  They're pretty good.  The food is reliably good as are the bagels.  In recent times I've found that they're understaffed and as a result the entire experience suffers.  Service lately has been very rushed, the food takes an exceptionally long time to arrive and the portion size has shrunk.  When the food arrives its tasty but after 45 minutes a string cheese and a juice box would have been culinary gold.

Its a good restaurant and I'll probably end up going again.  Hopefully they'll have more staff next time.

Do not miss this place for brunch in Seattle.

The place looks so different.. the walls are covered in a huge modern mural.  Roxy's is famous for their extensive sandwich list, but everytime I'm here (and, admittedly, hung over) I can't help but get breakfast.  It's fast, the servers are quirky and fun, and I love eggs and hashbrowns to no end, brother.  To no end.

Also, try their oatmeal--it's a large bowl and comes mixed with cinnamon, brown sugar, almonds, raisins, and a little butter.  Ohhhh, man alive.

My last experience was Friday, when I was driving home from a friend's at 8am and roommate Joe wanted bagel sandwiches.  He hopped out while I waited in the car (the outfit was too.... obvious from the night before, hehehe) and we brought home some of the most delicious (and filling!) bagel sandwiches ever made by man.  They were probably made by a woman.

Last Saturday was my first time here, I really really liked it, and I'm thinking this will be a regular place for me.  It was around 3pm, pretty slow, so we got seated right away and everything was prompt.  The only thing that got messed up was the sour cream and salsa for my friend's breakfast burrito was asked to be on the side and didn't happen.  The server remembered when it was about halfway gone, and apologized, so at least they remembered.  Obviously it wasn't a deal breaker.

Here's the greatest hits:

- $2 champagne cocktails - try the ginger kiss, champers with ginger ale.

- An entire page of the menu is dedicated to meals where a bagel is the star.  I had traditional lox breakfast with whole grain bagel - AWESOME!  You can get an egg/bagel/cheese sandwich for under 4 bucks!

- diner counter, which always scores points with me

- pastrami sandwiches available "New York Sized", which if it's anything like Bloom's Deli on 39th, lawd help ya.

I haven't seen a monte cristo sandwich on a menu since I don't know when.

I'll definitely be back.

The Breakfast Gods did Fremonters a great favor when they cast the obnoxious hacks from "Bagel Oasis" out of the neighborhood and allowed "Roxy's" to open up in the same place. Only 100 or so reviews, so far. You can tell these guys are doing something right.

Roxy's is popular, in fact, that you can expect to wait for 15 minutes in order to get a table on a weekend morning. Totally worthwhile, though.

Roxy's is, as best I can tell, the closest thing Seattle has to a genuine east-coast diner, except that the coffee is actually _good_. The staff is always running around (which I take as a good sign), but takes the effort to smile and talk to you and make you feel welcome. They make a great breakfast, and have some of the standard east-cost fare that you don't see much of out here (potato latkes and [holy freaking gods] actual perogies!). Great deli sandwiches, too.

My one complaint. . . they _slaughter_ an otherwise perfectly good corned-beef hash by putting peppers in it. You can't call yourself an authentic New York deli and then go and pull that crazy fusion crap where people least expect it. Same with the homefries - what the heck planet do people come from where putting peppers in homefries is considered acceptable? That will still get you tarred & feathered back East.

So, seriously though, that's my only complaint, and it's well made-up for by the service, selection, and atmosphere. Roxy's is well worth a visit for the home-sick East-coaster, or anybody else who wants a no-nonsense good meal.

I really like the murals on the outside of the building (which is what drew me there in the first place), but all the waitstaff in there are uniquely fashionable -which shouldn't matter right, but I loved it! Great tattoos, quirky haircuts, and just generally edgy and interesting- and the murals inside are even more zany than the ones outside! The food was amazing! I had the Italian Tuna Melt and it was by far the most delicious Tuna Melt of my life!! Reasonably priced too ; )
Oh and their Happy Hour is extremely generous!

Sad sad sad. I miss Roxy's from downtown when they actually made a sandwich. The brisket sandwich I received was a thin replica of a sandwich. I was very disappointed.

3 stars for the service as the gal working there was cheerful, which was a nice contrast to the drabness of the place. I felt like I was sitting on a homemade rickety bench in a drafty warehouse.

I've been here a half dozen times now and really think it's my favorite Fremont breakfast / lunch place. One of my favorites in general.

No it's not fancy foo-foo Palisades brunch or frenchy Cafe Campagne (another fav) it's good ol' diner food made well. The Varsity Inn is closer but I'll walk to Roxy's anytime. The menu is huge and nothing has ever disappointed.

Today I had a simple bagel w/cream cheese and tomato...how many places doing scrambles, pancakes, hashes and all offer something so simple and so good. I love that I don't always have to have a massive meal.

Thanks Roxy's, I'll be sad if you ever close...

The breakfast here is not cheap, but what do you expect in the hippie becoming yuppie neighborhood of Fremont.

However, the food is great and the service was friendly and relatively prompt.

Definitely expect a wait if you want to go Saturday or Sunday for "brunch" (aka when you roll out of bed with a hangover at 11:00 AM).

It's worth it.

The entire time I was here, I could not help but think how much more I would have enjoyed this place drunk at 2am, hung over at 10am, or resolving "the munchies" - whenever.  I also wondered if employees get a discount on piercings (not criticizing that in any way, just they all had some!).

"Diner" is in the name, "Diner" is what you need to expect.  A little pricey for a diner, but not horribly.  You find that if you start swapping or upgrading, you can easily reach $18 a sandwich.  My guess is that if you plan on coming here, you need to come a few times until you find the items on the menu you really like, then not experiment.  Although not bad or anything, my hot sandwich was too salty and only hot because of a microwave.  My lunch companion's sandwich was tastier, but still nuked.  Sad on-tap beer selection.

*Warning: Roxy's seems to have pushed me over the edge into my Brooklyn JAP alter-ego*

Oh. my. gawd. Deep-fried Mac N Cheez. Chipotle dipping sawce. Best dahn tuna melt evah (the Italian). Oh, and bee-ah (beer). This will be the source of my early-onset atherosclorosis, fa sure.

There is nothing not to love about Roxy's.  Even if you are a health-conscious, cook-at-home kind of gal (which I am) you've still got to love that semi-opulent weekend brunch.  And even though the menu has the full gamut of stick-to-your-ribs breakfast items, it also has filling, delicious stuff that doesn't feel like pure artery destruction -- like the Nova Lox plate with a bagel, which is everything you've ever wanted.

Really, though, let's not talk about health-consciousness, because that's not the beauty of Roxy's.  Roxy's is perfection.  The atmosphere is fun, the servers are always nice (Even when it's packed), and the menu leaves NO stone unturned.

Nova Lox plate: perfect.
Egg on a bagel sandwich: perfect.
Challah french toast: perfect.
Country fried steak: enormous and delicious (according to my carnivorous boyfriend.)

What's YOUR craving?  Roxy's will satisfy.  I promise.

I have made multiple appearances here. The menu is expansive, the food basic but tasty. The pancake specials always worth perusing - but my last few stopovers here have just been appallingly bad. The first experience involved overcooked poached agains. At least the waitress tried to make good and was willing to deduct it from our ticket. The next couple visits involve stale bagels and shitty service. When their bagels are good, they are amazing. So when they are stale, they are an extra large disappointment. The last straw for me was we appeared, it didn't look too busy... it took forever to even get coffee to the table - much less refills (and when coffee costs $2 - the cup should never be empty) somewhere between 30-45 minutes, the waitress finally attempts to take the order of the table next to us (who had been seated much less long ago) had it not been for the honesty of that table, I don't know how much longer we would have lingered. I was so disgusted at that point, I didn't even order.

If you go to Roxy's, expect poor service and have a scramble. It is a safe, tasty bet. As for me, I give Roxy's the kiss of death.

Breakfast places in Fremont are surprisingly sparse, but Roxy's fills the my need for no nonsense diner food.  No offense to Silent-Heart-Nest, but sometimes (ok all the time), I crave some sort of salty real meat product to go along with my eggs, hashbrowns, and toast.

The L shaped counter is perfect for the single diner wanting a good cup of coffee in a real heavy diner mug.  I went on a Sunday and it was packed!  You'll be sitting like sardines next to others noshing on their omelets, benedicts, and hotcakes, but the food will quell any hint of a hangover or morning cravings.  The full bar (Bloody Mary's...hint hint) is a big plus in my book.  For ten bucks I was out the door full and pleasantly caffeinated...

This fine sunny but cold Seattle morning, my boyfriend and I were on a mission to find coffee and something tasty to calm my grumbling stomach. As we walked down the street through Fremont, we quickly realized our choices mostly only consisted of lattes and mediocre pastries. That just wasn't going to cut it... then we came upon Roxy's Diner. I have always noticed this place when I visit Norm's but had never tried it. We contemplated outside the door for a few moments and finally stepped inside so we didn't look like creeps peering in at all the diners. And boy am I glad we went there!

The decor is colorful and fun, keeps you entertained. The menu is HUGE... with anything you can possibly imagine. You can have a different bagel combination for every single day of the year! And many more choices. We settled on the Smoked Salmon Benedict and Roxy's Latke Sandwich (eggs, cheese, tomatoes, and choice of meat sandwiched between scrumptious potato pancakes). The two of us pretty much licked our plates clean. Plus, our waitress was a doll!

If you are at odds deciding whether to grab coffee and pastries or a real breakfast... choose Roxy's and I promise you will find yourself satisfied!

Where else in Seattle can you get traditional deli delights? Roxy's is the only one I know of, and I will happily drive to Fremont solely for their matzo ball soup.

Ah, the matzo ball soup. This is all I want when I'm sad, sick, hungover, or all three.  Fat little dumplings chortling away in their bath, a clear and savory broth with slices of carrots and onions providing some chunk. Fat little dumplings are adorable and delicious, and let me know it's going to be A-OK. Thanks, dumplings.

Then there are the latkes, which taste pretty perfect to me. Crispy, thick, and flavorful, served with apple sauce and sour cream.

And, after many fruitless searches, I've found Seattle's egg cream soda.

LOVE.

I *heart* this place.

Not only is this place quite decent eats, but it is jew-friendly. I like.

I haven't tried the matzoh brei or latkes (because I am better than all I know at making both these dishes) but the mexi-themed breakfasts have treated me right (last dish was tamales & eggs with hash browns).

I like the friendly atmosphere and there are quite a few of the hottie waitstaff variety to ogle.

Cheers, and support the diner!
