My first time to Roxsan Day Spa was for a Brazilian. Lili worked on me. She was sooo fast and effecient. The whole process was very comfortable. I felt relaxed in her capable hands. So I recommend her for Brazilians, because I'm going back to see Lili soon.
The spa's atmosphere is nice. The place looks clean and well kept. The bathroom is nice and clean. The individual rooms are comfortable and calming - very different from other spa's.
I have been going to Roxsan for about 8 years and I am the most loyal of customers. The front desk people are friendly and professional and the body treatments are exceptional. I was referred to this spa by 4 friends recommendations, who receive waxing from Natalie. She is the best by far and is the only person I trust for waxing and facials.
I have been going here on/off for 6 years and worked with almost all of their estheticians. I'm very picky about waxing and have finally settled on Nathalie. I have been seeing Nathalie for the past 2 years and am consistently pleased. She is very attentive and always doubles/triple checks to make sure she got everything.
Ask for her if you're looking for waxing!
If you happen to be in White Flint Mall and need to get your eyebrows waxed, this is a great place to do it. It's located on the third level, near the movie theatre and Dave and Buster's. They were fairly busy when I went, but I was able to get an appointment right away. My esthetician was Norya, a sweet French lady who had years of experience, as well as being a former instructor for Yvonne de Vilar School Aesthetic Salon and School. (It's funny what therapists tell you if you tell them you work in a spa. I don't think she thought very highly of that school after the owner sold the business). Anyway, she did a great job waxing my brows and lip. The only thing I didn't like was afterward she applied some kind of alcohol to the waxed area and it was quite stingy. The total amount for the bill was $34 ($22 for eyebrows, $12 for lip), excluding gratuity. Since I go to White Flint maybe once every other year, I don't foresee a return visit. However, I have heard that Norya has been at Roxsan for a very long time, so I would recommend her for waxing.
For my 20th birthday, I decided to treat myself to a Brazilian waxing. I'm kidding. As anyone who has ever had themselves stripped bare of everything they own, it's not a very pleasant experience. I was so traumatized by my first and only Brazilian that I did not dare to get wax anywhere close to my nether regions for 7 months. I would say that the last person to give me a Brazilian was ruthless, brutal, and impatient at some nameless salon/spa in Columbia. .
So I decided that I should get over it and just go for a Brazilian again. After some research for a reputable place close to home, I decided to try Roxsan. In high school, I used to go down to the Georgetown Aveda, but the distance and price of parking kept me away. Roxsan is located on the third floor of White Flint Mall right next to the 3rd floor entrance to Borders. Upon checking in, I was given the option of tea, water, or coffee, and I sat in a dimly lit waiting room with comfy chairs while listening to soothing new age music. At 9:30, there weren't too many other customers, but a few people were getting pedicures.
My esthetician was a really nice woman by the name of Mahin who knows how to get the job done. Unlike other places I've been to for waxing, she stayed in the room while I undressed. I personally didn't have a problem with it because she's going to see everything down there anyways. I'll admit that she wasn't particularly neat using the table and ripping up the paper as needed to cover up wax drippings. This probably could bother a neat freak, but I didn't care as long as the waxing was over soon. At one point she also made me hold my leg in the air, which wasn't so bad except I nearly kicked her.
A mildly important note: I was getting a full arm and underarm waxing done at the same time. I didn't take off my shirt, and Mahin used a white powder to prep my skin before waxing. I didn't have any problems with getting the powder all over my black shirt, but it's something to keep in mind.
Even though I haven't had a single hair waxed in months, she got the job done relatively less painful than the last time I had it done. If I get a Brazilian again when I'm at home, I'll definitely come back to Mahin, and maybe I should try out the massages at Roxsan's. I need a massage.
I've been going here with my mother for the past 8 years (shes been going since I was a little girl). I love coming here. The staff is AMAZING, very sweet & funny. The atmosphere will put you to sleep, its so relaxing, and it looks and smells so fresh and clean. Importantly, their pedicure tubs are always clean (very important to check before you get a pedicure, for health reasons). I've been getting my eyebrows waxed with the same woman every time I go; she does a superb job. I trust no other place! Roxsan Day Spa is my little slice of heaven...
What can I say .....hmmmmm I know lol I went to this place too get my very 1st massage I had a water therapy treatment and a 1 hour massage I came in I was seated in the waiting area where they had plenty of magazines to read within 10 mins someone came and got me the water therapy really got me loosened up and in the mood for the message the room was very neat and clean they had some soft music playing lol but the staff was nice clean and they also have their own line of creams and bubble baths love this place will be back !!!!!! The best thing about this place is that I have been consistently satisfied with their services. I have been going to this spa since 2001, mostly for the massages. They hire really good therapists. I would dare say the best around this area. I always leave there in a state of bliss after a massage.
The manicures/pedicures there are very good. Nothing to really comment except that I trust them the most in this area. Also got my eyebrows waxed here. Very natural looking results.
I've also gotten a facial there. I was always scared of getting facials because I have very sensitive skin. My skin did break out a little after the facial but after a day or two, it turned out to be really smooth and clear. In fact, the effect lasted several months. I'm not an expert on facials though.
The staff are very pleasant and helpful. They have never made a mistake with my requests or appointments. The other clients there seem to be very respectful of each other so it's a nice peaceful place to go when you need a break. It's also in a convenient location on the third floor of the White Flint Mall. The address says North Bethesda but it's basically off Rockville Pike. I'm surprised no one has reviewed this place yet.
Roxsan Day spa is a great spa for massage, nails and waxing. I've had all three and their hot stone massage is WONDERFUL. I always leave with a sense of bliss for just having a wonderful experience. The staff is friendly, polite and very good at their jobs. highly recommend to anyone in the area.
My friends read my mind (and my wishlist!) and got me a gift certificate for a massage here at Roxsan's. I haven't received any of their other services, but I was really impressed by the efficiency, professionalism and quality of my massage. I believe the 50-minute deep tissue massage costs I got cost $85, but I would be willing to pay a lot more for what I got. I'll have to come back here for their other services. I highly recommend.
this is my go-to place for massages, and it's always as comfortable and relaxing as any spa should be. the downside is that the atmosphere, in terms of interior decorating and the sliding doors to the individual rooms, can feel a litle dentist-officeish, and i know some people are very particular about those kinds of environmental details. but the masseuses are great and inside the rooms are fine because everything looks relaxing and fine under dim lighting. i've gotten swedish massages, a hot stone massage and a salt scrub here before. the only one i wouldn't recomend is the hot stone massage. hands are much better at massaging than stones. each masseuse is a little bit different but i've never had a bad one. the price is comparable to any other spa, from what i've seen. but if you happen to catch a special during spa week, it's a pretty good deal.
