When it comes to driving ranges, I would frequent Pacific Palms at Industry Hills, Royal Vista (at night) and sometimes Diamond Bar.  Until I actually made a trip to Rowland Golf Center.

This range is very clean.  The practice balls are still relatively new and not some beat up old yellow and pink balls you find at other ranges.  LOL.  The snack bar is better than some golf courses!

What I like about this place most is the level field you are hitting on to - no undulation, no bare spots and the back of the net is about 265+ yards away.

This facility is 2-level and there are plenty of bays.  It can get rather crowded quickly especially during the summer.  The price of range balls can't be beat - $10.00 for 130 balls and you can even by a range card saving you even more money.

The range is open to 11:00 pm daily but they stop selling balls at 10:00 pm.  There is a chipping practice area as well as a nice putting green.  Parking is okay and this place is easy to find.  Located right off of Nogales and the 60 freeway.

I will never come back again.

It was my first time in a long time at a driving range. I came here last night and was treated poorly by the cashier.  I felt as if I were a 2nd class citizen because I was 1. female; 2. young; 3. don't speak the language; 4. not a regular customer

3 of us arrived at 8:55pm, stood in front of the cashier window trying to figure out how things work and their price structure.  We don't come alot, so we wanted to discuss how many balls we might need. 30 seconds into our discussion, the old Korean cashier shouted repeatedly to us "HURRY", "FAST!!", "MACHINE CLOSE", "NOW" then pointed at his watch "9 CLOSE"

I thought it might have been just a language barrier and he was just trying to tell us they were closing soon. So without any hesitation I handed him a $20 bill.  Then he shouted at us some more, but I couldn't make out what he was saying.  Turned out he only rang us for 100 balls... he shut down his computer immediately, and locked up the ball dispenser machines the instant we received 100 balls.

I was shitting in my pants, cus we made a few friends drive more than 20 miles to come hit.... but only to find out we have 100 balls amongst 8 people?!! 10 minutes later, the Korean dude walked up to us and yelled "COME".  So it turned out that he had to restart his computer and unlock his ball dispensers... a number of regular customers showed up after us and they needed balls.  =

This time around I thought i was smart to ask for 2 Jumbos (130 balls / jumbo)... then he screamed ... yes he screamed at me "NO" that i was not allowed to get 130 balls for whatever the reason he might have.  so FINE, i compromised and asked for 2 Large (100 balls/large).  then he questioned how many people we have... how 3 ppl are gonna hit that so many balls.  Therefore i explained nicely that i have 8 ppl total.... then he was finally willing to sell me 2 Larges.

Only 6 of us ended up making it last night... the old Korean dude shook his head at me and asked with perfect grammar... "I thought you had 8 people, what happened?"  He was totally capable of carrying a full conversation in English and yet he didn't even try to explain to me what was going on with the closing and ball situations.

and i later learnt that they close at 10:30pm. I have no idea where the 9 pm came about.

Nice place, but unfortunately horrible attitude.

Golfgolfgolf....must golf.
...golfgolfgolfgolfgolfgolfgolfgolfgolfgolfgolfgol fgolfgolfgolfgolfgolfgolfgolf...
....must golf.

Friend: Hey Kione, you wanna get some lunch?
Me: What? Golf?

Wife: Honey, can you take out the garbage?
Me: What? Golf?

Kids: Daddy, what's for dinner?
Me: Golf.

That's me, on the brain, 24/7.

Hello...everyone.
My name is Kione.
And...I'm a golf...junkie.

Hi Kione.
Admitting you're a junkie is the first step in recovering a bad shot.

When I'm taking a break from my  project I'm practicing my swing.
I could be having dinner with friends and family, I'm imagining my self on some fairway  on a recent course planning a shot, and executing it.
Even during intimate moments with my wife, I'm mentally going through the necessary steps of getting out of a bunker 6 ft. high.
I can't go to a park, or go to a look-out without thinking, "I could get through those trees or I wonder how many additional yards can I get driving off this spot."
I can't even eat a turkey sandwich and not think about the turkey sandwich I was eating when I was on the 10th hole of Trilogy while I was waiting my turn to hit.
I need help.

So, what does a junkie such as I do when he can't get out to a course and live the dream, and get that high of parring or birdying a hole that only golfers can truly appreciate?

Driving range!!
Oh yeah! A temporary fling. A temporary fix.
But how could I not?

A place like Rowland Golf Center doesn't only offer an driving range that has about 20 stalls, but a deck with an equal amount to match. There are 3 putting greens, a chipping area, and a practice mirror.
Practice mirror?
What?
It's like that sex mirror that I...I mean, "people" have in their bedrooms.
You can watch your stroke. Oh yeah, baby. You like that?

And if you get hungry, there's a snack bar that not only serves sodas and juices and I think beer. But boba. Oh yeah, ladies. Daddy's got your boba for you. Udon? Ramen? Of course!
And, as mentioned by Mike. 130 ball for $10. Good deal. Not great, but good enough.
Yeah, it's a cheap hooker compared to my  wife..I mean, being on a golf course.
But it's enough to get me through the week.

This is one of the better golf ranges out there.  The thing is that this place can get pretty crowded in the late evening hours and your wait would be about 1/2 hour.  The buckets of balls are competitively priced and the matts are in decent shape.  A jumbo bucket has 130 balls and costs $10.00.  They do have the rubber tees, so you don't have to bring your own.  I used to go to the range in Pacific Palms, but I think this place is a tad better.  They close at 10:30 pm though.

this is purely a driving range and putting green.  there are two floors of about 20 or so different sections (each floor) to tee off - both are shaded.

there is no real grass here except for the putting green.  if you're driving, you'll have to make do with astro turf.  it costs $10 for 130 balls if i remember correctly.  you can obviously buy less balls, but that was their best deals.

they have a golf shop and small cafe.  the drinks are meh .. but that's alright, i don't particularly go there for the food anyways.

the course itself is pretty bland.  just a huge open area with various markers at 75, 100, 135, 150, 200 yards and stuff.  random hills here and there .. you are essentially driving your balls towards the 60 freeway

best thing about this driving range is its proximity to all the asian food in the surrounding area - which may suck if you don't like it.

Great place to practice, however my only pet peeve is that the chipping area is hardly ever open. There are  3 putting greens, but only 1 is open each day as they alternate.
