I grew up playing mini golf here as a kid.  Not the best mini golf course around, but the memories make this worth 5 stars.  Decent arcade, good batting cages, convenient to get to.......it's worth a visit for anyone in the area.

The Orange Dinosaur kicks ass and stands out driving by on Route 1.

I'm a sucker for large animal statues, so I had to try out this course, if only to see the orange dino in person.  (The brown hippo makes for a better photo-op, though).

One thing that this course does that I haven't seen before is that it has signs indicating how you can hit an automatic hole in one at some of the holes.  I'm not sure how I feel about these signs.  I feel that it's the player's responsibility to scope out a hole before beginning, but the signs are probably helpful for kids.  On one hole, however, my opponent hit his ball through the promised "automatic hole in one" venue, but the ball didn't land in the hole.  Better for me, I guess?  (I lost anyway).

The course is old (some holes have golf balls stuck in them), but I think that's part of its charm.  Worth the $6.50 per adult.  The ice cream stand just feet away has the post mini-golf must-have, soft serve.  I wish they had a water fountain or accessible sink, though, because I seem to be incapable of eating a dipped soft serve in a cone without making a mess.

I love mini golf. Its the only sport I play. Yes i said sport!
Stopped in and happy gilmored that sheeit up this weekend.
I totally blew this time but it was my first time out this year!

Route 1 Mini golf is kind of run down and needs a little more tender love and care but its good times for sure if you have some people with you to make it fun.  I posed with & did some sexual harassment of the dinosaurs & other random animal status along the way.  Thankfully there were not lil kids around to see me stick my ass in the hipos mouth.

The batting cages looked scary and I wanted an ice cream but no one would by me one.

This mini golf course is the closest to me from Somerville. The course though is not very difficult or tricky, as most of the holes are a straight shot with some contraption in the middle blocking the view of the hole. I rate this four for convenience and two for competitive mini golf playing! (Yes I said competitive mini golf!!)

I have only been here once.  The place was pretty decent.  The mini golf course was not the best I have ever been to but it was okay.  The batting cages were not really my thing but my friend loved it.  They have video games and ice cream too so you could come with some kids and have a pretty good time.

It rules because of it's simplicity. It rules because of the big ass orange dino. It rules because 'obstacles' include a wind mill and bowling pins sticking out of the ground. It rules because of the appropriately placed ramp that causes many to consider launching their little red/orange/purple/blue balls into traffic on Route 1.

It rules because of the ice  cream place in the parking lot. It rules because of the old school batting cages. The batting cages rule because you can relive your little league days in the slow pitch cage while little kids make you look lame as they blast away in the fast pitch cage.

There is even an arcade garage. How can you go wrong? Fun for the WHOLE family.

I'm completely biased because I grew up with this place..but I won't apologize for that. In high school this place provided me with a 100% success rate on first dates. Not sure what that says about my date location or my date choices; but either way. The orange dino golf place rocks.

I love mini golf. If I could, I would mini golf all day, every day. Just probably not here.

So many mini golf courses now are either battered and torn up or not challenging enough. This is torn up. Sure, there is that awesome orange dinosaur and a windmill, but after 50 years, maybe some renovations could be nice??

It was my first time mini golfing there, on what I remember to be the hottest day ever, and there wasnt even a fan in the game shed. Luckily I still schooled my friend in air hockey (and mini golf, for that matter), swet and all.

This doesn't get four stars solely because of the mini golf, it gets four stars because there are a few different things you can do here.  It's a good place to go if you are tired of sitting in your friend's living room watching television and desire to see the light of day.

The mini golf course is decent.  It really needs to be refurbished because you can tell the stuff hasn't been touched in a while.  The obstacles are good though,  Also, theres a chance to win a free game on the 18th hole.  It's probably rigged, but its fun believing its not.  Newb mini golfer beware: Highway in playing field.  I have had friends hit the ball onto Route 1 before so be careful because that ball is long gone if it hits the streets.

Besides mini golf, there are four batting cages of different speeds.  These are decent batting cages, but the equipment this place has isn't very good.  I don't believe there are any helmets and the bats are crappy.  I would still recommend using their bats rather than your own.

There is also a little arcade if interested.  Finally, finish off your trip to Route 1 mini golf with some ice cream.  This ice cream is good, but your average ice cream joint.  I recommend this place as a cure for boredom.  Enjoy.

We've all seen the orange dinosaur on route 1. The other night I finally decided we should pay homage to the now 50 year old mini-golf course.

Sure there's no big fountains or go-carts... but there's ice cream, and batting cages, some video games and a whole lot of camp. It's good clean fun for the whole family!

Home of the large orange T-Rex!  I'm sure if you've driven on Route 1 South, you know what I'm talking about.

Other than that attraction, there isn't much I can say about this place.  It's small and even though the batting cages are always crowded the mini-golf usually isn't.  There's a reason for that folks...

The mini-golf course is tiny and not very interesting at all.  There are challenges where there shouldn't be, but none at all where there should.  Last time I went, there was a little boy behind me, about five, bored out of his mind.  That should never happen when playing mini-golf.

There is potential and room to improve, but I guess ownership doesn't care about that.  Go to Peabody instead, they have a great course up there.

I am only writing on the orange dinosaur here...that is one of the greatest landmarks in the world...it was a sad day on the north shore when the kids destroyed the poor little orange dino....but they rebuilt him soon after so life returned to normal....

This place is so freakin' cute!  I have passed by while doing errands several times and it's been on my to-do list... finally I got a friend to go with me last night!  What did we find?  Not only is the killer orange dinosaur there, but also an adorable hippopatomous, green dinosaur, lion and an egg (Humpty Dumpty?), rocket ship and all the other silly random kinds of things one would see along a miniature golf course - among the carefully crafted lawn art and greens kept nice and tidy.  As far as miniature golf courses go, it's not the most amazing I've been to, but it is an average sort of challenge and very cute.  I only got one hole in one - that may say less about the challenge of the course and more about my skills (or lack thereof), though ;)
If I were in even more kid-mode, or if I were bringing kids, I might also be tempted to try things like skee-ball and the batting cages.  It is fun when you're looking for an activity on a summer evening that will bring back some memories... good times!
