Every now and then I need to get my Fish Fix, and this place is good enough for that!
I used to work at Sea World once upon a time, so needless to say I like me some fish. Watching them calms me down and makes me warm inside. Alas, I am in love with a person who feels just the opposite towards fish. So he can stay outside and look at the ocean. plenty to do on a pier!
There is nothing new here. Everything is run by donations, the tanks are well maintained and the fish all look happy. Plus, they have some pretty dope dead sea-life on display for those of you who like that. (I do!) Love the turtle!
Plus, It's free! So just walk right in! Yup! Fun activity space for the kids upstairs, even if it does get a little hot and stuffy. Everything you'd expect from a free educational experience! -

SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! free free free and at the end of a beautiful pier.
i went cycling with a buddy down the beach and came across the pier. we figured we could lock up the bikes and take a quick stroll to the end when we found this little treasure.
its super cute and quaint. nothing spectacular, but it also doesnt cost anything to go in. enjoy the handful of tanks with little baby sharks, starfish, and stuff. the eels were creepy looking, but fun times nonetheless. -

This is a small aquarium that is run by volunteers and the admission if free. At the entrance, there is a donation box and it's a great idea to donate what you can afford to continue supporting this place.
This aquarium is nothing like the Long Beach aquarium but it's a nice place to take children to look at small marine animals. You will see crabs, starfish, and other small marine life.
The only reason I'm giving it only 3 stars is that I feel bad for all the small marine animals that are living in aquariums. Considering that there are several local environmental groups that are conscious about keeping the beaches clean and not harming the oceans and its inhabitants, this aquarium does EXACTLY what these groups are opposing.
Other than that, it does offer some education of the different marine animals and brings some $$ into the City of Manhattan Beach. -

Small aquarium that is fun to visit with little kids or if you are a big kid at heart. Free but you should leave a donation for fish food. Lots of pretty fish. Good place to take some pictures. My favorites are the eels. They like to ham it up for the cameras. A small touch pool for kids with starfish. Great views from the end of the pier and a small cafe nearby.

This aquarium is free to enjoy! Make sure you give at least a dollar or two donation when you enter. It's polite! The volunteers on the particular day I went this week were very friendly and informative. Sometimes the place seems understaffed, but who can complain? It's free!
If you have kids you need to entertain this is a great place to go for half an hour or so. I really like watching the rays swim around, but wonder why you can't touch them. :( They have a ton of star fish to touch and look at, which was fun. -

This place is free, so don't expect much. at all. It's a small roundhouse ran by volunteers. There are a few different marine animals, my favourite being the starfish.
It's a place to go to at least once living in this area, but I don't see myself going back anytime soon. I can see this place being fun for kids, though!Listed in: Parks & Recreation

Review from David L.
Run by volunteers, the roundhouse is a neat place to see what lives below it in the Pacific Ocean. Some great exhibits, many of them re-done thanks to a Eagle Scout project. It can be loud in here, due to all the equipment they maintain to keep the marine life alive. It can also get crowded. If you're looking for something nearby that offers a touch tank and a lot more tanks, check out the SEA Lab in Redondo Beach, about 2 miles south of the Manhattan Beach Pier.

Located at the end of Manhattan Beach Pier, this cute little aquarium and educational studies lab showcases a broad range of local marine life in a tiny roundhouse. They have a shark tank, a hands-on tide pool for kids, clown fish, eels and lots more. I learned a great deal of informative ecological facts and couldn't stop gazing at the prehistoric-looking eels.

Did somebody say beach day?! Awesome! Did somebody say ROUNDHOUSE?! With or without Chuck Norris, I'm there! I've been going to the Roundhouse Aquarium since I was a little kid and had a starfish (now I know it's a "sea-star") put on my head. This place is no Monterey Bay, but it's perfect for a family to stop by on the weekend. Or perhaps you want to let your inner child run free and stick your hand in the touch tank to slip on sea cucumbers, rub over sea-stars, and feel the ice cold water. No matter what age (well... you probably won't enjoy this place unless you're out of diapers), the Roundhouse is fun, educational, and a neat place to go.
