I miss this place so much, I used to go there all the time.  I hear Petit Robert is good, but I refuse to set foot in the building  since Rouge is gone.  So sad...

Overpriced - yes....but delicious. I love the warm environment and they always have some old-worldy tunes. The bbq is wonderful - and is perfect is you are a bbq kind of guy (or gal) and want to have a '"nicer" night out than say Whiskey's.

Went on the all-you-can-eat BBQ night (Monday I think).  For the price ($20) that's worth it although when we ordered more ribs they brought us each 1 rib - they could have asked how many we wanted because we inaled them in 5 seconds but didn't want to order again.  Maybe that's how they survive selling AYCE BBQ for $20 - who knows.  Anyway, I'd still recommend the place but not for anyone trying to eat healthy!

Food is a bit overpriced for barbecue but you do get a lot of it.  My husband & I both tried The Sampla for a taste of everything. . .being from NC originally this is definitely not NC barbecue.   The brisket was good, ribs very good and tender.  Not a fan of the collards.  Added bonus--you get a slice of watermelon with your meal.  The waitstaff was incredible, every single person gave a smile and "hello", "how are you", or "welcome to Rouge" as we were taken to our table.   We didn't try the bar area but the dining area was cozy.

Agree with Jason. Food at rouge is not okay. As a Southerner, I am embarassed for Andy Husbands. Is he joking? Brought a group of friends for brunch, and it was terrible. Dinner (have been twice) the same. Bland, overcooked (and not in the good southern way), and overpriced. The only thing I can vouch for here is outdoor drinks. The mojito earns its price tag, as does the patio. An excellent summer bar choice.

Yessss. Yessss.  This place is sex embodied.  The bar is dark and small, with victorian velvet lounging couches, a whole bunch of nik naks and board games.  And cute waitresses.  The dining side is comfortable cushioned side benches, gorgeous mirrors and trophies.  An old world southern food spot.  I went here when  a mom was buying so I didn't have to hold back on ordering.  I've never had such delicious food out of iron skillets in my life.  I wish I could eat here every day.  They brought us little shrimpies as tasters.  The wine was great, the waitress put up with our millions of questions, and the dessert was to die for.  Want to get laid?  Bring your date here, if only for a drink.

The BBQ is terrific, the atmosphere is nice, the menu is expensive, but worth the treat on occasion.  Andy the owner is a great guy.  He lent me three chairs for the Super Bowl party I had him cater for me.  They have a lot of fun activities with Harpoon Brewery all the time, so stop in there for a drink and maybe you'll land a keychain

Grab a glass of wine and relax, but do not bother with the food.  The menu alone should tell you all you need to know....

dark swanky and intimate atmosphere. great place to go with friends for a quiet and intimate night.  ....rumor has it the trophies on the wall are entirely unrelated to the bar however... can we say 4H club??? take a look!

Now with the great atmosphere and beautiful outdoor seating of this bar you would think Rouge would get a 5 star rating.  But not if you are looking good food.  The food is bland and boring and it all tasted the same.  Whether the corn bread or the fried chicken is it all had the same taste.  Nothing.  So go to Rouge and enjoy the drinks and the atmosphere but eat before you go.
