For some reason, a lot of folks aren't that into the Rotunda "Cinematheque," although I've never heard anyone call it by that name. For neighborhood residents, it's great to walk, and for those that drive, the parking is much easier than The Charles, Towson Commons, White Marsh, or the dreaded acreage of parking at Arundel Mills. The Rite Aid and Giant in the same building make it super easy to buy candy and drinks that you can smuggle inside with your "no outside food and drink" sizable purse. Once inside the theater, the seats are comfy and have ample leg room. The arm rests lift up to allow for cuddling during the movie. There are two things that the Rotunda could improve on that would earn them that fifth star: change up the films more often, accept credit cards. Not taking credit cards makes me feel like they are evading taxes or something. That's not nice.

Not the greatest movie theater in the world, but it's cheap and the location was fantastic back when I lived near JHU.
The Rotunda Cinematheque a no-thrills movie theater. Its primary draw is the proximity to Hopkins, located in the Rotunda just a few blocks away.
Its hard to believe that this theater and the fabulous Senator Theatre are run together. Given a choice, I would always choose the Senator.
