Here's a honest hard working mechanic that knows his stuff. After Jei at Blacktrax convinced me I had the wrong axles in my car I ordered a new set of racing axles and took them to Paul to install. He laughed when I told him the story and said there is only one kind and I already have them. He pulled them and installed the retaining clip that the wizards Jei forgot to install. At least now they stay inside the differential and won't fall out. As a result of Paul's advice I took the car to TriPoint so that it could be dyno-tuned. Now it works. Thanks Paul for your honest advice and good service.
Paul Rules!
I've been taking my Mazda 626 to him for 5 years now. Very honest, fantastic work. He's always super busy but somehow manages to get my car back to me quickly.
I'm thinking about buying another car. It might have to be a Mazda because he's he only mechanic I trust!
If I could give Paul-the owner and main dude at Rotorsport-6 stars, I would. I have been taking my car to this guy since 2000 when he used to be in Campbell. I had an RX-7 and wanted to find someone who knew rotaries well. Paul knows everything Mazda and knows even more about rotary motors. What's great about Rotorsport though is they do what needs to be done to your car without trying to sell you on useless crap. And, most importantly, they do an awesome job. DON'T take your Mazda to the dealership, and Paul can tell you why.
Paul is also one of the most honest mechanics I have ever come across. I know that sounds like an oxymoron, but it's true. I have a Mazda Protege5 and for months I wanted catback exhaust. Paul not only put it on in 10 minutes, but he let me pay for it 2 months later. Who does that? No one, period. If you have a Mazda, don't go anywhere else.
Paul and crew run the only shop that has never tried to pull a fast one on me. They consistently do exceptional work, and their prices are really reasonable considering the high caliber of work. I took both of my RX-7s here, as well as the four Miatas I've owned, and my Mazdaspeed6. Technically it's a Mazda shop, but I also bring my Lexus here when it gives me trouble, and their work is still flawless and reasonably priced.
It's great because I can have boring repairs like the power steering pump fixed, but also I can have hardcore performance modifications done by a skilled and seasoned Mazda veteran.
Paul was great! I actually found Rotorsport on Yelp after a bad experience at Menlo Mazda. Paul and team absolutely lived up to their positive reviews. Paul clearly explained the work my car needed now, and things that could wait. He was also really upfront about pricing and timing. A true professional and one who genuinely likes the cars he's working on. What more could you ask for? Thanks Paul.
Paul is the main dude here. The guy has experience with rotaries that goes back before I was born. Friendly guy, knows his stuff, works quickly and does what he says he will.
This is the only shop I'd take my RX-8 to.
I'm surprised by their honest price and knowledge of rotary cars.
Most of the time when any shop quote me anything, I'd be scared by their price and walk away and do it myself. This one is the exception.
For so many shops I've seen in Bay Area. This is one of the very few shops in this area that I think is not overpriced for their quality of work.
My friend's 90 Rx7 changed brake master cylinder, rotors, intake plenum gasket, brake fluid. All just $6xx.
