Like other people have said, they make you feel like a criminal. I felt really uncomfortable the whole time i was shopping and it just ruined my experience. Decent selection but not worth the discomfort i feel as i'm trying to peacefully shop.

I pulled a picture out of my bag to measure them in a frame i wanted. The lady that saw me take them out of my bag and measure them started following me around the store. I understand if it looks like I was secretly shoving things in my bag but 1. this was a poster which they don't even sell posters, and 2. I took it out of my bag in front of a worker. Why would I be stealing? I made it pretty obvious what I was doing. Then as I'm followed and eyed by 2 different employees throughout the store I go to the checkout stand. Keep in mind Im buying 60 dollars worth of items. A lamp included. As i'm at the checkout stand the security guards at the door start talking over their earpieces and the lady checking me out stared right at me. If i wanted to steal something why wouldn't I steal the lamp or buy a huge order just to steal a poster lol. My whole shopping experience made me feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable, I would've much rather have been asked "do u have a receipt for that" or "can i help you with anything", if they really suspected I was stealing and wanted to "scare" me. Had a decent selection but I will never go back here :\

I love Ross and the thrill of the hunt of finding something cute/fun. Came in a couple weeks ago and the manager on duty "Gwin" must have been having a really rough day because he had the worst customer service. He literally threw my items in the bag. After my transaction he stormed out the front door and went to sit on a bench. I don't like to call people out, but he was the manager on duty! Poor example for the other employees.

A large store, which seems to have no
selection of whatever household item that we need - the two times That we have been there. The employees checking customers out we have found to be rude. We have found them to be cold; they wave you over and process you on through without so much as a "hello" or a "thank you". They then will call the next customer in line, while you are still standing there shoving your credit card back in your wallet, rushing you out of the store as if you are a major inconvenience to them.
The security guard at the door, however, has always been friendly when we entered. Two stars for him, and ZERO for the others. I wish the store was a Marshall's instead!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kimberly O.Carmichael, CA333143010May 13, 2019
I really like Ross. I have found so many cute dresses here for cheap.
They carry anything from pots and pans...home stuff...clothes...pet stuff...coffee...shoes...purses...jewelry...kids stuff...and it is pretty cheap.
I really have enjoyed the dresses I bought here. I have bought many. You just cannot beat the price.
The store is always clean. Staff friendly and helpful. I like shopping here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 22, 2019
This is by far the cleanest ROSS I've been in. Not sure if it's because I was there when they opened but I was impressed. The store was bright and everything appeared organized. I was told it's a corporate office location. I wish I could find 1 ROSS in the immediate Bay Area that looked half this good and again I was there when the store opened. The young cashier Lauren was a gem, so pleasant with such a beautiful smile.

I just want to start off and say I absolutely love Ross stores. I never expect too much, but the selection is usually pretty good and when you do end up talking with the associates, they're pretty much always friendly.
HOWEVER in my retail experience, I have learned so much. One of those things is don't make your associates uncomfortable/not want to work for you.
I just was shopping around and heard an entire corrective counselling session on the sales floor, this should generally be a private discussion between associate and manager.
If management doesn't have enough respect for your team to work with them by coming up with a progress plan of some sort based on what they're not doing well and put them on blast in your store, I don't have enough respect to help your store by shopping here...Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Karina K.Fair Oaks, CA5861Mar 17, 2020
This was the cleanest Ross in the area. The manager is knowledgable and accommodating and the staff was great. The store has recently moved to a location less than a mile away on Madison Ave.

They make you feel like a criminal. Like another reviewer reported: screaming "Hi: welcome to Ross"; but not inviting at all! Then, when you want to use the fitting rooms, they search and pat down everything and again when coming out? Really? Even when you want to purchase something, with the correct tag for the number of items. I didn't feel they trusted me back in the store with the item, so just left it there. Going to order online.

3.5 stars. This Ross is clean and well-maintained. However, the housewares section strikes me as a bit odd. Where's all the stuff?!?!?
Honestly the store is too big for the merchandise. There are shelves with one or two lonely vases. They could really take in more stock.
I don't bother looking for shoes here because the majority of the shoes are "manmade". I can't stand non-leather shoes. Something about your feet not "breathing" and that irritating plastic-y feeling.
The pillow section here rocks. In fact, it is much better than Marshalls and dare I say TJMaxx? I bought three pillows today. Two were down-filled and had removable slipcovers. Only $3.99 apiece! You can't beat that with a stick.
I like the music they play here. It's that pop sounding crap you hear everywhere else, but they have a good sound system here. They must have done their market research because when I shop here, it actually relaxes me.
Also, their sunglass section has some good labels such as Prada and I've even bought Kate Spade ones, and they are polarized!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Aug 27, 2014
So, I dropped by this Ross unexpectedly on my way home from work. I just wanted to see if I could find a dress for work...if there were any summer dresses left at all. I was in luck! I found a gorgeous dress for $15! This Ross is uncharacteristically neat and tidy. They even have a designer purse section but, all of the bags are out of season and/or at least a year old.
The associates were really friendly and even greet every customer as they come through the door even if they are already waiting on someone else. I also overheard an associate let a customer know that a lantern she was attempting to purchase was cracked and gave her the opportunity to put the item back. This Ross is awesome!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
