2 reviews for Rosedale Inn
We stayed here this past Thanksgiving weekend, and it was completely fine. The Inn is located in a beautiful area - just across from Asilomar Beach Park and the Asilomar Conference Center. We saw several deer, hawks, bunnies and enjoying hearing the sounds of the ocean and seeing all the beautiful stars each night in the inky dark sky. The inn was also very very quiet, which I appreciated.
Our suite was totally fine. It was gigantic - a large living room with comfy furniture and a lame gas fireplace. It had nice high ceilings, but the windows were kind of dinky so it wasn't that bright inside. The bathroom was a little tired, but the shower was great, lots of towels and nice toiletries. Our sleeping room had two queen beds and they were both very comfy with nice duvets and lots of pillows.
We also had a Continental breakfast each day - the standard cereal, bagels, toast, muffins with the usual spreads, fresh OJ (Yum!), yogurt, fresh fruit and the worst coffee I've had in ages.
All in all, three stars and a decent, if not great, place to stay down in the Monterey Peninsula area, especially for the price. We paid $135/night.

I only gave this 2 stars because the amount of money we spent didn't seem to match what we received. It is really close to the beach, within walking distance and the big jacuzzi tub was a plus. The Inn was overrated on their website. The staff was very friendly but when booking the romantic package, they didn't know anything about it and it was on their website. So, needless to say, the room didn't come with the flowers and candy like it stated it would. The video library that they boast is old movies on VHS. The complimentary breakfast was gone by the time I went and it was only 9:30am and there were no tables to sit and eat it at anyway. There was no pool or hot tub, I guess that is why you have the tub. The fireplace was a gas fireplace that didn't give off much heat. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything and everyone that is next to you. I have stayed in better places for the same amount of money. Oh and if you are allergic to dogs, don't stay here, they own a dog who is in the lobby at all times with the owners. I didn't mind the dog but not all people are dog lovers. I am sorry to say that we will not be going back.
