I have mixed feelings about this place.  I've been here twice now.

The first time I felt like I couldnt squeeze into my seat because the tables are so close together.  The food was GREAT though!

The second time... the waiter completely forgot about us and after sitting there for almost 45 min our order was taken.  The food again was good.

Will I ever go again is the question ???? still dont know.  Im kind of disappointed in the service.

I enjoyed my visit. I had great food, great conversation, and a dessert I'm still thinking about 2 days later.

The ladies I came with all decided to get something different and then we were going to split it in fours. It was a great idea in theory but once we saw our food we all dug in and quickly forgot about the deal.  I did manage to get a forkful from a couple of the other plates but I was afraid of losing my hand if I tried for more. Everything was delicious. I had the tilapia stuffed with blue crab and cheese. We also had a crab cake, a salmon salad, and some other seafood salad.

We then had the orgasm worthy dessert. A gooey brownie topped with vanilla bean ice cream and mounds of whipped topping. The server also provided hot fudge, carmel and two kinds of nuts to complete the sundaes. If it would have been acceptable to lick the bowl clean I would have.

Our waiter was great and answered all of our questions and took our special orders without a hesitation. He had a little bit of a dry sense of humor but once you got past that he was great. I also enjoyed the bread server and the water guy.

I think I will go back next week and just order the dessert. It was that good! Really!

I'd probably actually put them at  3 1/2 stars if I could.  It's a steakhouse.  I was actually hoping a little more for an emphasis on Italian when I went, but that's my fault, not theirs.

The menu is pretty much identical to most of the steakhouses I've been to in downtown.  A few variations, but no shockers.  I did really enjoy the truffled peas, though.

I had the Delmonico steak.  It very very tender and perfectly cooked.  It was appropriately seasoned, however I tend to like salty flavors more than most people so I would have appreciated easier access to a salt shaker.

Although I didn't eat it myself, I did appreciate that they serve it with a piece of bone with marrow on the side, and a little fork to get the marrow out.  I'm not a big fan of marrow, but I know some people are and I think it's a nice touch.

The negroni I had was well-made, and the wine I selected was also nice, although I didn't think their by-the-glass list overall was interesting.

In summary, if you're looking for a business dinner at a nice spot in the middle of the Loop, or a place with outdoor seating that isn't right next to the street, or just a well-cooked piece of steak, this is a solid spot.  If you're looking for something beyond the norm for downtown steakhouses, or for anything resembling interesting variety on the menu, you're probably better off picking somewhere else.  That's not a dig - not everyone wants trendy food - but like most spots that specialize in business dinners, this is a "safe" choice that does traditional steak house food consistently.

For not being a big fan of steaks, they sure have a great bone-in filet. It was cooked just the way I liked it, medium-well, with a mountain of sauteed mushrooms. It was wonderful, however, you'll have to starve yourself all day to finish this dish. It was huge! At least for me. I had a quarter of the steak and I was done. The side dishes were OK, nothing spectacular. The wine selection was great, more than half our bill was on wine alone so be prepared to drop some Benji's.

I went here for a private party last weekend and it was FANTASTIC. Not only was the service great, the food was unbelievably delicious. I had the bacon-wrapped BBQ scallops to start. Hands down the absolute greatest appetizer that I have ever had in my entire life...ever. Then came the salad, good, but nothing special. Then my HUGE 12 oz. fillet mignon. While it was a little more medium well than medium, it was still amazing. Dessert was a platter of different items including a key lime pie, homemade ice cream, some sort of chocolate cake thing and a canolli. I would DEFINITELY head back here...if only I could afford it on my own!

I just ate there for lunch on business and I had to leave a review so that others can learn from my mistake.  Unfortunately, I was entertaining clients so I was unable to fuss about my dish.  It took forever for everyone' s lunch to come out in the first place so I didnt want to waste my client's valuable time.

I ordered the steak sandwich, cooked medium.  When the steak came out it was burnt on the outside, and what most places would classify as rare, or medium-rare, and definitly NOT medium.  I nibbled at it but was only able to eat a few bites.  Luckily, the fries were alright tasting.

The reason for the two stars is because my client's enjoyed their hamburgers.  They lost a star for the incredibly slow service and two stars for making a disgusting steak sandwich.  I even brought it back to my office and gave it to a co-worker.  She also thought it was gross.

I will definitly not go there again.  Rosebud is better at their pastas.

The restaurant could easily earn 4 stars, but I was part of the pre-theater rush and needed to get in and out.  Instead the restaurant was doing it's usual thing... get seated, sit around for a while, get the wine list, sit around for a while, order the wine, wait some more before you get the menu, etc.  While I tried to expedite it, this entire process took nearly half an hour before I was able to get my dinner order.  Now, this is the perfect routine for a group of people, or even a couple of people, who are chit chatting and hanging out.  I was a lone diner and had to twiddle my fingers while I clearly wanted to eat moving.

Ok, rant over.  Now onto the food.  Since this initial process took almost half an hour, my meal time was constrained (I was trying to get to the show!).  I only ordered the Rosebud's Signature bone-in filet with wild mushrooms and a side of freshly shucked cone.  The bone-in filet was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful.  The corn was just ok, there was some butter and spices sprinkled on, but unevenly, so some bites were good and some bites were bland.

I was happy with the actual meal and was curious about dessert.  Maybe next time I can devote a couple hours to dinner and really enjoy the experience.

First time eating at this Rosebud location.

We chose to eat outside - they have a very nice outside area partially covered by trees and far enough away from pedestrian and car traffic so that you don't feel crowded or have to smell exhaust fumes.  The space is great, with huge umbrellas for shade lovers and enough sun for those of us who like the  warm on our faces.

What I liked best however, were the chairs, they are the exact replicas of chairs at every Parisian outdoor bistro I have been to - nice touch.

Great service, our server timed everything very well, left us alone except for his check-ins - I don't like being fussed over or ignored - our guy was perfect. .

Had the burger - not what I would normally order at a Rosebud restaurant, but learned from previous reviews this was a steakhouse.  My burger was terrific, cooked perfectly medium.  Incredibly juicy, with cheddar and truly caramelized onions - not quick sauteed.  Tasty tastry fries.

Will definitely go back.

Great for a business lunch or before the theater!

I am actually kind of mad that I went here.  Met up with a friend for a weekday lunch and got a table outside (so far, so good).  Ordered a Diet Coke and had some pretzel bread with sweet butter (still going well).  Ordered a steak salad with goat cheese and balsamic viniagrette, which came out about 15 minutes later completely dry and with no goat cheese.  Not a huge deal, but mildly annoying.

I started eating the steak on the salad, and besides being rough and chewy (I think it was skirt steak), it also had a ton of gristley fat on it.  Not just the little bit that gives steak it's great flavor, but a LOT of fat.  If I'm going to pay $16 for a salad at lunch, I at least want the protein to be of good quality. The veggies weren't great, either -- the tomatoes were okay, the beets very obviously came out of a can, and I could barely see or taste any other veggies in the salad except for the lettuce.

Overall, I was very disappointed with the food here.  The quality did not live up to the prices.  Service was so-so.  I won't be back.

I brought my mama here for her birthday before going over to jersey boys. My mom had talapia which she loved, I had some sort of steak which was good, but it's a steak house so I better i get a darn good steak. However, my favorite of this place was the baked potato soup. Baked potato soup is my fave and I always have to try it if I see it on the menu some place. This here is DELISH!!! I loved it so much, that during cold days, I often walk over to this place for lunch, sit at the bar and order me a bowl of baked potato soup!

I really enjoyed having dinner there but then again it could also be the fact that I was in the car for four hours driving from Detroit to Chicago right before entering this establishment.

This is an upscale establishment but I was dressed casually and was fine. That's the whole beauty of Chicago, you can get away with it. Not like NY.

Anyways, Chicago is known for their meat but having traveled all day I was in the mood for something fairly light and decided to try their mouthwatering steak salad. It was one of the best salads I've ever had and the meat was so moist and perfect cooked. I almost want to drive up right now and get another one!

Along with it we were served some bread which was also great and the waiter also suggested some amazing wine for everyone to share. It was a terrific experience being in such a nice restaurant and I cannot wait to return on my next trip. The service was friendly and attentive and the prices weren't as bad as you'd think considering the quality that they bring to everything.

The burger may very well be the best in the city.  Rosebud's been on my list since Phil Vittel rated their burger best a couple years back.  The burger was excellent.  The meat's taste carrying it with the cheddar, Pretzel Bun, and excellent toppings playing supporting roles.  It was perfectly cooked and enormous.  Dynamite.
The fries could have been better, but they were good.
The unassuming entrance here opens to a well-appointed dining room with tuxedoed waiters and jacketed bus boys serving rolls and sweet butter.  It was pricey: about $20 after tip for each of us.  But still, I'd go back for that burger.

I have had memorable dinning experiences at Rosebud Restaurants in the past and had high expectations when I found out I would be dining at Rosebud Prime on the company's tab.  A party of eight from my office went out to celebrate a co workers going away party.  Fortunately we reserved a corner booth and were isolated from a majority of the restaurant's noise.  Having a conversation without yelling may have been difficult if we were seated elsewhere.

I started out with the jalapeño and sweet corn chowder.  I was impressed at how it managed to deliver the flavor of jalapeño without the spiciness.  The corn was right off the cob and I could taste the freshness.

For the main course I went against my gut instinct of ordering meat and went with the salmon special. The salmon was grilled and served with black olives and soy sauce over a bed of rice.  I was not a fan of the black olives and I failed to hear the waiter say anything about them in his description.  It was not the end of the world, but the salmon would have been better off without them.

For desert I had the chocolate lava cake.  It came with a scoop of vanilla and was everything that I expected it to be.  All and all, my lunch at Rosebud Prime fell shy of my expectations.  That being said it was not a bad meal by any means, just not as good as my other Rosebud Restaurants dining experiences.

I arrived just before 1 and the tables outside were pretty full, but it was too humid so we ate inside. It was not that crowded, and yet I think this is an excellent place for a business lunch. Great atmosphere, top notch service, and USUALLY great food.

Please see my blog for more details and reviews.

Mauro B was our waiter and was quick to refill drinks and take our order (the Arnold Palmers are great here). I ordered the french dip special, and my lunch guest had the chopped salad. The food arrived promptly, and the salad was HUGE. The french dip looked a little on the skimpy side, and when I took a bite it was HORRIBLE-----I cant even begin to describe how bad-it was tough and fatty and I could even take a bite. I called the waiter over and let him know if was horrible. This may be the first time EVER that I had to send something back to the kitchen.....and it is especially embarrassing when its at lunch with a new customer. I asked for a cheeseburger.

It took a few minutes, but when it arrived it was excellent. I really like the fries they serve and the burger itself was HUGE. I know the burger is my "go to" there, but I do like to try the specials.

Mauro did apologize, and due to the delay in getting the right meal, I had to end the lunch rather quickly to be back in the office. I gave him my credit card to pay the bill, signed and went to leave. As we were leaving the manager came over and apologized, said he tried the sandwich and thought it was horrible also, that it was the first time the tried it and they would work on it.

As I sit here writing this review, I noticed the did charge me for the burger.....I guess that's fair because I did eat it, but the horrible french dip kind of ruined the experience for me.

1 Arnold Palmer 4.95
1 Diet Coke 3.00
1 French dip 18.95 (eliminated from the bill)
1 chopped salad, chicken, blue cheese 19.40
1 lunch chz burger 12.95

Total - 44.93

I've only been here for appetizers and drinks, but would definitely recommend it for a client/company dinner. I had a taste of the osso buco and polenta. OMG they are to die for! The creamy polenta is full of rich butteriness that just lingers in your mouth.

This is a review for the bar experience only.

Met with friends here after a looong workday. Service was prompt and courteous. Everyone was happy with their drinks and food. I shared small burgers and an order of mussels with a friend. Both were delicious.  We were unable to finish all of the mussels. The crowd was mostly 30s and older. The guys at the end of the bar were rumored to be Jersey Boys cast members. Would love to return here for dinner in the restaurant area.

Appreciated the coat check at the front.

First of all, stellar service. Really just flawless, impeccable, spot-on service. Our waiter (Jay? I think...) was the image of perfect service. In fact, the good service is the only reason this place is getting three stars instead of the two I was going to assign it.

We ordered a bottle of "Boots" Shiraz. At $40, it was one of the more frugal choices available to us.

Coconut shrimp... we ordered it as an appetizer. It comes with three shrimp and the waiter was kind enough to arrange for it to come with an extra one to provide even portions. In the end, he needn't have bothered- they weren't all that great and neither my date nor myself finished ours.

Jalapeño corn chowder- it's their "thing," apparently. My date had it and said he enjoyed it, though be forewarned that he found himself burping it up several hours later.

I ordered the brie-and-crab-stuffed tilapia- three things I love, combined in one. I was disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it was certainly edible, but it wasn't sort of greasy and heavy especially for what could have been such a delicately flavorful dish. The salad that came with was smothered in a slightly syrup-y lemon vinegarette. I'd suggest asking for it on the side, or perhaps left off all together.

My date ordered the Delmonico steak. It was moist and cooked properly, but not a spectacular cut of meat to begin with. Again, edible... but not the stellar meal we'd hoped for.

We split the trio of creme brulee for dessert. No complaints there!

The restaurant looks and feels like it caters to a much older crowd- aside from the two of us, there wasn't a person under 40 in the dining area. It's a bit stuffy... still elegant, but oh so stuffy.

All in all, a decent meal, but not quite what we expected for our $160+ (pre tip) bill. Not someplace we'd ever need to visit again- not someplace we'd suggest to friends or family.

This is a nice restaurant and I want the record to show that he review is only for the bar and burger.

We were able to sit down immediately at the bar.  It is not very big, but it's comfortable and they have a couple of flat-screens behind it.  The bartenders were very friendly and conversational which was nice.  The burger is HUGE!  While I had high expectations based on its reviews, I felt the burger was just Ok.  I certainly do not believe that it is the best in Chicago.  I still believe that Tavish, Blackies, and others are better.  Add in the high price tag and I'm not really sure if i'll ever be back.  On the bright side, the fries were very tasty.

I do want to mention that my girlfriend and I definitely felt we were rushed out of there after we paid our bill.  I understand that there are other patrons there that order bottles of wine and expensive steaks, and we ordered burgers and cokes, but let's have a little courtesy.

Note - the 3 stars reflects my own dining preferences.  If you are looking at this strictly as a place to take clients, more like a 4 star for the *bling* factor.

I took a client to lunch here today and wasn't overly impressed.  Both my client and myself thought that while the space was attractive (very spacious and open) the actual seating was very uncomfortable.  My guest is well over 6 feet tall, and I'm not quite 5 feet tall, so maybe it had something to do with our extremes, but both of us felt physically uncomfortable in the chairs - not an auspicious start to an expensive lunch.

Our server took our order for first courses right away - we had the corn chowder and the daily soup, potato leek.  Both soups were quite good, but the bread basket that accompanied the soup was stale.  As we had an early lunch reservation, I was a bit surprised.

The menu was interesting (Kobe beef hot dog?!) but note - everything is ala carte.  See menu here: http://www.rosebudrest...

When my guest asked if any of the tuna on the menu could be cooked through (he isn't a huge fan of fish, but wanted to give it a run) the waiter said no - nicely - without asking the kitchen.  When my guest then asked for a fish that wasn't fishy, the sever kept trying to steer him to the Nicoise salad and the scallops, when there was Whitefish - the mildest fish of all time - featured on the menu.  Eventually, my guest ordered the Whitefish broiled and I had the special of the day, a chilled platter with shrimp, seared tuna and crab.

The food came quickly, and looked lovely, the whitefish was perfectly prepared and was a nice sized fillet.  My guest enjoyed his whitefish, but wasn't terribly impressed.  My plate was a bit of a disappointment - 4 very, very thin slices of seared tuna, 1 jumbo shrimp cut in half, and a very small piece of crab meat on top of a rather aggressive chilled fennel salad.  There were a couple of sauces (a balsamic and a green sauce of some kind) on my plate, but they were served in such teeny, tiny artistic dots, you couldn't actually taste them. Nothing on my plate seemed especially fresh, especially the tuna which was actually a bit fishy instead of clean.  I would not order this again.

We declined desert, but I had coffee.  I was not offered a refill.  Busboys were good about refilling glasses (bottle of Pellegrino), our waiter was very earnest and friendly, but overall, not what I would expect from a $60.00 lunch.  I'll be back if I have a client I need to take to a fancy-schmancy place in the loop, but wouldn't bother on my own dime.

I had an excellent petite filet mignon here, as well as a great grilled & chilled asparagus salad.  The bread basked had a nice variety, including my favorite - rye with raisins & sunflower seeds!  My drink was very strong (which I needed on this particular day, thank-you-very-much) and my boss seemed very pleased with the wine list.

Service was very attentive, almost to the point of being annoying.  I don't need to be called "zee beau-tiful lady" all night, or have crumbs wiped away so often.

The atmosphere was weird.  It is small but has huge windows that they cover them up.  It's very dark and red - almost like dining inside a human heart, now that I think of it.  Strangest of all, "Aint That A Kick In The Head" was played no less than three times over the course of our 90-minute meal.  Good tune, but it was noticeably louder than all the other music.

It was pricier than the places I usually go, but also much higher quality.  Nice for clients, but not really my scene for friends & family.

Quality / Taste (40%): 5
Atmosphere (20%): 3.5
Service (20%): 4.5
Value (20%): 3.5
Overall: 4.3

Four stars is hard to do for a newbie.  I had to take away one star because the service is still working out some kinks (support service not necessarily waiters themselves - our waiter was pretty on top of it).

Dined with five others on an afternoon in the loop.  We gave them leeway with the wines by the glass which were stellar (pinot was particularly good) and the steaks were unbelievably seasoned. It was the best filet I've had in about a year.  The ribeyes and delmonicos at the table got rave reviews as well.  I've grown accustomed to less than flavorful filets here in Chicago - but even the FILET was delicious and arrived in a tangy and sweetly seasoned au jus.  One drawback - kitchen is still shy and four of the six steaks were undercooked at medium and medium plus.  Order medium well if you don't want it really red.  The waiter however, was apologetic and we got more fire on all our steaks without sacrificing the flavor.  We even received a free round of dessert for the mistake - I like a restaurant who recognizes and deals with the opening kinks graciously.

It appears they have a separate rentable space upstairs for large parties.  The jalepeno hash browns are a MUST HAVE (this from someone who doesn't particularly like jalepenos OR hash browns).

Would definitely recommend for a martini lunch or pre-theater.

Update:  The lunch hour means crammed-in tables now, Gibson's style rid-damn-diculous, so your eating shoulder to shoulder with the stranger at the next table.  If you go for lunch - make it a late lunch.  By 1pm they start to remove some tables to create more room.

Got their too late to order dinner, so I had to make due on drinks (plenty strong, but $10 for a vodka/soda!) and the really yummy bread still left out on the party's table - i especially like the dark raisin bread and the crunchy wafer thin cheesy crisps.

Very attentive service, nice vibe for a big oversized loop dining room. Could be crazy loud in there, I suspect, but being there only one hour before closing, it was pretty sedate.

I don't know how this place is clocking in at 3 stars. We had some excellent food and service here. The steak to get is the Chicago cut ribeye. It's huge, but probably the best ribeye I've had. Also, the cream of spinach side with bacon, escargot, caesar salad. everything was good. My dad had what he said was the largest lobster tail he'd ever eaten there. The desserts were  excellent too. Especially the apple crumble thing. For a high end steak house, I would say this or the Rosebud Steakhouse on Walton may be the two best in the city. If you want a nice dinner before Jersey Boys, go here.

I came here with a huge group from work and I think the servers were quick to take advantage of the fact that all of us had expense accounts. They highly recommended that they bring out a couple of the appetizers for everybody but it turned out to be too much food. A lot of the appetizers went to waste because we wanted to save room for our entrees. As for the starters, the baby lamb chops were juicy and tender. The peppercorn ahi tuna was solid. The Oysters Rockefeller were disappointingly too salty so nobody wanted them. I was stuffed by the time my petite filet arrived. The filet was good but I've had better. If I ever do happen to find myself back here, I'll try the other cuts.

What a nice lunch we had here yesterday.  Possibly the best cheeseburger in Chicago!  Service was first class, everyone loved their food.  The atmosphere is upscale, white tablecloth type place that is good for a business lunch.  I'll be back

I had a terrible experience at Rosebud Prime this past weekend.  To start, we were actually asked to leave our table and head to the bar.  Our waiter said it was because the table was reserved, but there were plenty of open tables, there was no one waiting, and the table remained empty for at least 10 minutes after we went to the bar.  This has never happened to me before and I found it incredibly insulting and rude.
Second, four glasses of wine were cheaper than a bottle.  My friends ordered a bottle and the waiter did not bring this pricing to their attention.
Finally, we brought both of these matters to the general manager's attention.  In short, I have never been treated the way that general manager treated my friends and I.  He was rude, insulting, and dismissive.  I find that generally restaurant managers are inclined to remedy wrongs brought to their attention -- not so at Rosebud Prime.

Situation..dinner for my bday, not feeling well at all, but this is my bday present..cso and steak, sickness ain't gonna ruin my day.

My partner and I get there on a sunday afternoon at 5:30pm, the place was nearly empty..3 tables max. We didn't take it as a bad sign as this is the Loop on sunday and they just opened a half hour or so before hand. The wait staff was very nice and attentive. We both order a glass of wine, while we decide on entrees. Again our server was right there, quick with the drinks...always a plus.
So, I order the Bone-in Ribeye, medium and she gets the whitefish. As we are waiting for our food, and I am feeling miserable, but I am thinking a great steak cures all ;-).
Then my steak arrives....Boneless...I ordered bone-in.  Worst part, its totally overcooked, well done not medium, the outside is completely charred...just burnt to a crisp.  I could have forgiven the no bone part, if it was cooked right and had a good flavor.
Now normally I would have said something...anything..even just to check with the waiter to "verify"  I ordered bone-in. But I chose not to, totally my fault but I felt miserable and this killing of my order just made me want to curl up in a ball and go home.
My major issue, we were 1 of 3 tables and they managed to get my order wrong, and kill a perfectly good piece of meat. For a steak place that is just unforgivable.

I've been a fan of Rosebud restaurants ever since I used to make several trips to Rosebud express while working in the loop for a great lunch.   I graduated to the other restaurants and fell in love with Rosebud.    Rosebud Prime was good, not great, but not bad.  The service was amazing, 5 stars for the service.  The atmosphere was 5 stars.   The sides were excellent.  We choosed the Creamed Spinach and the Bacon Cheddar Mashed Potatoes.   Where I felt Rosebud fell short was in two areas, the steaks and the drinks.

The steaks were good, but not out of this world (ny strip & petite filet mignon).  They char their steaks, which I love, but the overall tenderness and flavor of the meat fell short of my, rather high expectations.  I still think the best Filet in the city is Tavern on Rush.  The drinks were mixed great, but I found the $10 price tag a little steep for a standard Tanquery and Tonic, even for a place where you know your gonna spend some money on your dinner.

Bottom line is that I would without a doubt head to Rosebud Prime again, but maybe try some of the seafood that looked great and seemed to be so popular the night of my meal (mmm crab stuffed Tiaplia).

I went here for lunch and had a great meal!  I ordered the salad w/ salmon which was amazing.  Prices are surprisingly reasonable!  I really loved the decor, lots of reds and dark wood.  Full of professionals, obviously, during the day, but I am sure if you came here before a broadway show it'd be a good bet!

My boyfriend and I had our Valentine's Day dinner here.  I loved the atmosphere and the ambiance of the restaurant.  We had the coconut shrimp as our appetizer and my mouth is literally watering thinking about how great that was.  Since it was ala cart and fairly expensive (from what we're used to), I figured our portions would be pretty small.  I ordered a house salad with goat cheese (which was great), the special, which was a cranberry crusted Salmon and a side of rice.  My boyfriend got the Porterhouse steak and ordered two sides - the spinach and the mash potatoes.  We were very pleasantly surprised when they brought out a tremendous amount of food.  My salmon was excellent and boyfriend was very impressed with his steak and sides.  Suffice to say that we were so full we didn't get dessert, and we had leftovers for three days.  It's pricey for sure, but the service is superb and they give you a lot of food for your money.  For us, it's a once a year type of place for sure.

I want to start by saying that the food was 4 to 5 stars, but our service was 2 stars and that is me being my usual glass half-full self.  We were seated quickly, but for some reason instead of bringing menus and/or a wine list our server approached and asked if we would like drinks.  My wife and I were a bit confused by this approach but requested a wine list.  After finally receiving our menus we ordered the lobster cocktail to share, a corn chowder soup for me, and a salad for my wife.  Lobster cocktail was amazing, and just big enough for us to share and still have another small starter.  My soup was perfect, not too heavy.  But my wife's salad never came, and since our server was not writing down our order as the other server next to us was, we knew why.  After mentioning this, and at this point our steaks were almost out, the server apologized and offered to rectify the situation with dessert.  Super.  My Chicago Rib-eye was perfect, one of the best steaks I have eaten.  My wife's NY strip also amazing.  The yukon mashed potatoes a nice choice, and they crisp the top of them.  The green beans amandine were inedible, and tasted of excessive burnt oil with pearl onions.  We were surprised they opted not to serve these with light butter and garlic.  Skip that if you go.  Drinks were very good from my manhattans to our wine.  We did find it odd that we had to repeatedly ask for more drinks, I would think at the price the service would be a bit more hands-on and the servers would be asking you before the glass was empty for 5 minutes if you would like another.  When it came time for dessert we had not planned on it but to rectify the salad we opted for the trio of creme brulees.  They were outstanding, all 3.  When the bill came we were floored to find the server had already forgotten to fix his mistake with dessert.  We said nothing as this was our first visit, tipped 20%, said thank you and left.  We will surely return, but request a different server, because for $250 I expect incredible service.

Rosebud Prime continues the tradition of the Rosebud franchise. The steaks here are out of this world. I had the bone in Ribeye and it was amazing. The service is what you would expect from a Rosebud restaurant. Our waiter was great and very attentive. Although the food here is at par at other high end restaurants I have to take a star off for a number of things. The first is the decor. I don't know who decorated this place but they should have been fired when they first suggested the red chairs. This place is just plain weird looking on the inside. The atmosphere also suffers because of it's location. I was there on a Thursday and there was almost no one in there. It's great if you are walking in off the street but it's kind of weird that only 2 other tables had people in it. My main complaint is that when we were finished eating I asked them to wrap up my steak to go and the waiter had it thrown out. Now I'm really not a picky guy but when you play top dollar for a nice steak and they toss it out its a problem. What was the waiters solution? He gave me a free desert for the next time I eat there. Not the solution I was looking for. If you want more action and are looking for a great place to eat downtown try The Gage before heading to Rosebud Prime.

Such a classy place.  I would highly recommend taking clients or anyone you want to impress here!  It is on the pricer side, obviously, but you can't beat the location.  I went here for lunch and ordered the salmon salad.  This particular dish was not pricey and the perfect amount for lunch.  I would highly recommend!
