If I need to get something done, I go to Yelp first. The previous reviews of Rose Restorations were not anomalies. Jason is the real deal.
I rescued (very) old photos from my grandmother's house in Puerto Rico. Years of mishandling, heat and humidity took a toll on the only photos of my grandfather when he was 19, my grandparent's wedding portrait and one of my mom and her three siblings as tiny tots.
Jason handled these precious heirlooms as though they were his own. His professionalism and attention to detail are top notch. His turn around time was quick and the results exceeded my expectations.
For a fair fee, he returned the originals, restored copies and a CD with the files on them.
I highly recommend Jason! He is a true find! -

Old pictures are a window to the past, so when my in-laws passed away, and there was only one copy of their wedding album, I convinced my sister-in-law to let me borrow the album and trek it 3000 miles so that we would be able to make copies. After months of searching, I discovered Jason on Yelp. Of course my review is only regarding duplication but Jason's professionalism and finished product has me convinced that any other photo project I have, will be entrusted to Jason Rose.

There's a strange duality to my existence because I spend half my time dedicated to the freelance curatorship of various antiquities, and the other half fucking around on web 2.0 with the rest of gen-Y. It's a weird product of modern existence and mild antisocial tendencies. I'm a catch!
Anyway, some of these antiquities include photos of the family W. dating from the 1920's, which are understandably marked and faded and in a state of general decline. It was important that I figure out the best possible course for preservation, not only because I'm a preservationist but also because the family W. is extremely attractive and faded sepia was just not doing them justice.
Good local photo restorers are surprisingly not located on every corner, so luckily web 2.0 busted out Rose Restorations. I was very pleased with the service; the photo was digitally rendered, cleaned up, changed in tone, blown up to 8x10, and the original returned to me intact together with copies and data CD for less than the cost of a decent frame.
An excellent option for digitizing your antiquities. -

Jason was incredibly understanding about my concern for the details in restoring an old photo. He was even willing to go extra steps to make sure it was right for minimal additional costs. He did all this with a professional demeanor that ensured me he wasn't messing around with his craft. The result is a fabulously restored photo that doesn't look cartoony or artificial.
I would recommend Jason's service to anyone who wants custom service with a high level of professionalism without breaking the bank.
Thanks Jason! -

Jason recently restored some family photos for me - he did a great job and I'm so pleased to have him as a resource. He is bright, professional, and meticulous.
One photo Jason restored for me was from a visit to Cape Cod when I was six years old, with me wearing my favorite sweater at the time. I have long treasured this photo of a very happy beach trip, and as such the picture had become very sun-bleached over the years. Jason did an excellent job restoring the color and contrast. I was particularly pleased with Jason's understanding in getting the color of the sweater exactly right (even though this took a few rounds of edits and I was describing the color from memory), because I wanted the photo to match the memory precisely.
Jason also restored a few photos of my Dad and myself from when I was a toddler that I plan to give as Christmas gifts to my parents; I'm sure they'll be amazed to find anyone still has these photos, much less to see them in brand-new condition. -

I found Jason on Yelp, while trying to find a way to salvage a quickly fading photo booth picture strip...for my mother in law. Who doesn't want to get in their MIL's good graces?! Anyway, I emailed Jason a scan and due to the poor quality of the original he was able to restore it, but he didn't have much hope for doing any enlargements. When I sent him the original he was actually able to improve the quality to the point that he was able to make enlargements! His work is fabulous, my MIL was thrilled with her saved pictures. Jason's customer service is also excellent. He responds quickly to any questions and is very good at communicating throughout the process. I have some old family pictures floating around, some damaged pretty badly, when I dig them out Jason will most definitely be seeing more of my business. Very happy customer! :)

Yelp comes through again! I had two very old, irreplaceable photographs of my great-grandmother. Both were taken in the old country and showed lots of "character," including a missing corner and all sorts of wrinkles and creases on one and stains and general discoloration on the other. I was very reluctant to send them off to some restoration place sight unseen, so I relied on Jason Rose's reviews here and it's a good thing I did. Jason was super quick to respond to my e-mail and even came to my office for a consultation and to pick up the originals. A few weeks later, he had transformed them into exactly what I'd been hoping to see, delivering a print of each and a CD with jpegs. He got rid of all the flaws and even filled in the missing part. True artistry!

I went onto Yelp and searched for Photo Restoration. Jason's is the first that came up, and I took a chance. So glad I did! I didn't even compare prices or search around. I just went with my gut instinct and am so happy!
We have two photos - one of each of my in-laws and they are the only pics of them pre-1990s. They are very small, cracked, worn down and faded. Jason did some great work and made them beautiful. He even made some prints for us. I can't wait to frame them and give them as gifts for the holidays!
Oh yea - the best part is he put them on CD for us so we can get our own prints if we want more.
And about the $ - I still haven't bothered to compare prices, but I found his rates to be very reasonable and fair for a good service.
Thanks, Jason! -

Jason did a wonderful job fixing and restoring an old picture of my grandmother. It looks so nice and I got it just in time to frame them for my family as Christmas gifts. He was very professional and I will definitely use him again. Thanks for making the picture look as good as new.

It was a pleasure to do business with Jason. He did an EXCELLENT job on restoring and reproducing some old family photographs. He came promptly to review the photos, took great care of them, and returned them, with his completed work right on the day he promised. His pricing was fair, and his work is excellent!
