Here's some background... I'm from the bay.. we have GREAT thai food... from Osha in SF... to Sala Thai in Fremont... all the way down to Krung Thai in SJ... However, I do realize that I am in Vacaville.. so I've become lenient. My friend and I ordered the Tom Yum Gai soup (or something like that).. it has Chicken, mushrooms, onions all nicely warmed in a coconut broth= this was ok... it had too much of something, can't put my finger on it  & the Green Curry with Chicken (TONS of veggies)

Everything was ok. Total was about $18 not including tip yet

The service is good, I got my water refilled.. but I won't be driving out of my way to come here

I liked this place the first few times and then realized that i would get acid reflux.  seems like they use add water and stir mixes - a lot of preservatives is what it tastes like.  Their country curry they should take off the menu- tastes like top ramen but worse.
Their best items are  Pad Ram and Pad Tai...everything else is just eh...nothing compared to Tom Youn Goon...can't wait till they reopen!

I eat here once a week and have been doing so for the past year.  Food and service are very consistent. The food is always excellent and I've never had even a mediocre dish here. Good value too.

I've eaten at many Thai restaurants and this one is definitely one of the best.

Nice place with plenty of parking (in a strip mall)

The food was spiced right and it was delish...

    Why the low rating?

Portions were shockingly small. The pad thai was half the amount that I usually get and the calamari as well.

Needless to say, within 10 min of leaving that place, we both admitted in the car that we were still hungry and had to eat a 2nd dinner =0.  hungry belly = no bueno.

It was ok. I had hot thai basil with chicken and my friend had roasted duck. Mine was pretty good chicken was not fatty and the waitress asked how spicy I would like it. My friend did not like the duck at all in fact he said it made him feel a little ill due to its slimy consistency. The staff seemed to be in a rush to get people in and out as fast as possible which for me is a bit of a turn off. The spring rolls were good and the thai iced tea was again ok. Im really surprised that this is considered "the best thai food in vacaville." Perhaps Vacaville should up its game a bit. Over all bill was almost $40 which seems pretty steep.

This is my favorite restaurant in the Vacaville/Fairfield area. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly, the restaurant is open/clean/organized...it's an overall great dining experience. I'm always surprised at the reasonable price I pay for the amount of food I order as well. Great place to check out!! Just remember that they are closed on Mondays...

It could be that we were famished on our way home after a long weekend in Tahoe, but we were so happy to find this restaurant on Yelp! It's such a charming little place hidden in a shopping complex -- you'd probably pass right by it without noticing.

The service was really good and they had nice finishing touches, like the way they made paper flowers out of the straw wrappers. We ordered a chicken spinach dish with peanut sauce, a green curry with beef, jasmine rice and of course our Thai food staple, pad thai. What a yummy meal that even the kids devoured in big portions. We'll definitely come back on future trips to Tahoe!

The food was sub-par for the Thai food I've eaten. The service was amazingly poor. We got in there around 15 minutes before closing, they said they were open, then they proceeded to turn the open light off and cleaned up while we sat and ordered. They kept staring at us to hurry up and finish. Amazing. Had never seen anything like it. If the food was good it would be a different story, but this place just plain sucks.

Go to Bangokian Thai in Fairfield or one of the other places in FF (except S&L).

SOME MUST TRY THAI! Working across town all week a rarely get to see the other corner. After hearing from multiple of my clients at my work about the best Thai in Vacaville I had to see for myself. Really is a hole in the wall place but truly is a special one. great service, very clean, peaceful with a dash of elegance; perfect sides of veggies meats (chicken, porque, beef) , thai noddles, rice, zucchini, red bell peppers, grounded chicken , green beans, eggs, prawns, fried carrots, broccoli, chicken never seen or had anything like it. best thai under $10 with always extra food for take home. cant wait to go back

The thing that sucks about working night shift is that your ultimately limited  to your options of dinner before nine o'clock.  Thankfully a coworker told us about this place since he frequents this here during the day shift.  We made an order with him one night before they closed and as soon as we all walked in the workers were so friendly.  Another night, we made a huge order thirty minute before they close and told them that we were going to order some more when we came to pick up our food.  They patiently waited and gave us shrimp chips for the road.  I love this place.  & the food is delicious!

This is one amazing restaurant! My favorite Thai place ever. Maybe favorite restuarant period. This place sets such a high standard that I judge other places in comparison. Every dish Ive had there is amazing. Its beautiful inside. Very clean, fresh flowers and the tables. Nice atmosphere. Great service. Great little touches, like flowers made from the straw paper at the end of your straw. The pad thai, chicken satay, all the curry dishes, the chicken noodle soup, the thai iced tea.... are all amazing. I have nothing bad to say about this place other than that its small place that looks like a hole in the wall type from outside, but i like that because it just adds to its charm!

It's all about the details here!

This place has everything - friendly service, a quaint feel, oh and did I mention good food?  I found this place on yelp and was passing through so I stopped in for lunch.  I love the shrimp chips they serve WITH a side of peanut sauce, delish!  I ordered the lunch special kra pow tilapia fish, spicy please.  Yup, it came out perfect so I didn't have to use any of the spice accompaniments that were brought to my table!  The water has fruit rinds, so it's just a bit more spectacular than you could ever guess...and oh yeah, the cappucino candy at the end just sealed the deal for me!  Great place, it should be a model for restaurants all around.  Even the straw wrapper "rose" atop my straw in my drink was lovely!  Atop all that the food is reasonably priced, $8.95 for my fish special.  I will be back.

Amazing! By far my favorite Thai in Vacaville. The people are great and the service is fantastic.

The drunken noodles(pad-ke-mow i think) are truly great with well cooked veggies and everything is portioned just right.  The Pad Thai is good but honestly be adventurous you will thank me.  Once i tried the Panang Curry which is ridiculously good i pretty much only ordered that and the Pad-ke-mow.  The chicken satay is amazing and perfectly spiced and the peanut sauce for it is perfect.  The lunch specials are fantastic and for dinner you get a small salad with one of my favorite dressings ever i only wish they sold it so i could take some home with me!  O and the Tom-yum-gai(spelling?) is really good and full of flavor and presented in a bowl that has a fire in the middle to keep it all warm. amazing presentation, first time i went i thought i walked into a fancier place then i had imagined but it was really great and a perfect place for a intimate dinner with my girlfriend who loves it too.  just know if you ask for spicy its gonna be!  I usually ask for a little spicy and its just right!

This is by far one of the best Thai restaurants I have been to. I love the atmosphere, along with the friendly staff.

They even give you little shrimp chips and peanut sauce to dip it in, while you wait for your food.

I'm a big fan of their Lemon Chicken. My bf's a huge fan of the Pad Thai.

One major plus factor is that they never let my water glass go empty. That's one of my pet peeves.

Next time I go, I will have to try out the curries. I'm a bit afraid to give their curry a try while being pregnant.

    Best Thai Restaurant in Vacaville

    We ordered:

fresh spring rolls- it was actually fresh! most places preroll and refrigerate their spring rolls which makes them hard and chewy

lemon chicken- it was light and not heavily battered (chicken katsu style), with a side sweet lemon sauce = amazing

guey teaw neau- very similar to pho but with a taste of celery

I will definitely go there again

This is a great find in Vacaville. I literally went here just for the thai tea because its hard to find in our area. I ordered Thai Tea and #7...which I can't remember what it exactly was, but it had chicken, eggplant and a slew of vegetables.  The thai tea was very sweet...so much so that I only drank about 1/2 (that NEVER happens!).  I'm not sure I would order it again...

My lunch entree was fantastic!  The eggplant was fresh and cooked perfectly.  This dish is truly addicting and a must have for any eggplant lovers.  Luckily I live about 10 minutes away!

We ended up going to Rose Garden because it turned out our planned restaurant option had closed down for good, but in the future Rose Garden will definitely be a first choice.

I wouldn't hesitate to say that Rose Garden is the best Thai food in Vacaville. The food was the best Thai I've had in a long time, and it didn't taste Americanized at all. Their menu has a wide selection of options, including a large number of different curries. I was very pleased with my meal and thought it was very reasonably priced.

Rose Garden is very cute as well, with a setting that's almost romantic. The tables have white tablecloths and roses, and straws wrappers in drinks are folded up to look like roses as well. The staff range in their command of English but are all universally quite nice and checked in frequently on our table.

I would raise their rating to 5 stars if they would do the following things:
    1. Speed up the service a tad
    2. Have their A/C at some setting other than "temperature of Antarctica"

PS - oh, and a special shout-out to the parents out there: if your infant is screaming at the top of his lungs and your other child is running around the restaurant at top speed without supervision, it's time to leave the restaurant. I don't blame the restaurant for your kids' behavior, but you people are obnoxious!

Good food, and excellent service.  We stopped here on the way home from a camping trip.  We were tired and hungry and homesick.  Our 3 and 6 year old were antsy from being in the car all day.  We found Rose Garden on Yelp, and trusted the reviews.  I am so glad we did!  The service was nothing short of phenomenal. Were served salads as soon as we sat down along with water that was very lightly flavored with cucumber.  So refreshing after a long, hot car ride.  The food came fast, and my husband and I dug in.  The kids were having a hard time sitting still though.  Instead of glaring at us and praying we would leave soon, the staff found some crayons and told the kids to go ahead and draw on the paper table cover.  We took plenty of food home for the next's days lunch.

I just moved back to Vacaville after spending 15 years in San Francisco, then Los Angeles.  I admit, I grew spoiled with all of the good restaurants in bigger cities and figured I was out of luck when I moved back here.  But thanks to Rose Garden, I can now have great thai anytime!

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but please give it a chance.  The interior is super clean and cute though spare, which I don't mind.  I'd rather they focus on the food, unlike Spice Thai at the Nut Tree where they obviously put all of their money into the decor because everything coming out of the kitchen is on the bland side and waaaay overpriced.

When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and seated, the servers were really warm and welcoming.  As soon as we sat down, we were brought ice water that tasted of apples and oranges, it was so refreshing that I didn't order my usual Thai Iced Tea.  We also recieved these little pastel colored crisps with what I can only describe as a spiced peanut chutney for dipping.  It was such a nice touch and really tasty.

We had the pineapple fried rice which was more flavorfull than most I've had, full of chunks of juicy pineapple, raisins and nicely caramelized cashews.  The red curry with eggplant, tofu and basil was good too, served with a side salad and steamed rice.  The real stand outs for me were the soups.  The Hot and Sour soup was SO good, perfect on a cold wet day.  I would go back just for that soup!  The other soup we tried was the Coconut Chicken soup and it was really great too, a lemony coconut milk broth with plenty of mushrooms and tender chicken.  Both soups were $4.95 and were big enough to fill us up before our entrees came.  Can't wait to go back and try everything else!

My husband and I stumbled upon this place one evening when the kids were in a I have to eat now mood. We went in and the setting was very relaxing; our kids immediately got into the same mood and when they brought the water it tasted so refreshing.  The waitresses put cucumber and some other items in the pitcher of water to make it taste refreshing.  We ordered things we had never had before and  we were amazed and how yummy the food was and how the staff was so nice and not that fake nice for a tip. I have a 3 year old boy and a 8 year old girl so you can imagine how dinners are when I go out to eat; we had a great experience and enjoyed the setting and the prices are decent.

    Eat here, eat here now!

Vacaville has more than enough TGIF/Chevys/BJ's/Chilis/KrustyMcFuntimeFoodbag with plenty of customers...do yourself a favor by supporting a local business, instead of yet another massive chain, which serves fresh, tasty food - as opposed to microwaved goop served from a bag.

Rose Garden is an excellent place to go to for Thai food!  The food is so delicious and very well priced.  I have enjoyed at their curry dishes except their country curry dish.  It is a peanut curry sauce and that is just not my style.  Other people have loved it though!
Anyway back to the food...Rose Garden gives you plenty to eat!  The service is really good too.
They also add oranges, cucumbers and apples to their water so that the water has a nice crisp refreshing taste to it.
I recommend ordering the chicken satay as an appetizer.  It is delicious.  If they happen to have a mango salmon red curry on the menu - get that!  That is my favorite dish there!
All around, this place is great!

This place is great.  I'm in SF and my brother-in-law is in Sacto.  So when we had to do the mother-in-law hand-off one Sunday night, we figured where better than in a parking lot in Vacaville?  We love our mother-in-law.

OK, so it's mother's day. So really we can't do that.  We decide to go to Thai.

This place, despite it's strip-mall location is surprisingly good.  All of it.  Pineapple fried rice, Pad Thai and perhaps the best Lemon Chicken I've had.  Really good, and great, friendly service.

Highly recommended, folks.   Good Thai food in Cowtown, who'da thunk?!

Wow!!! I eat at many, many Thai restaurants all around the bay area, and Rose Garden is definitely on the upper end of the scale. As for Vacaville, it's the best in town. I've been there twice, and so far I've had their Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice, Yellow Curry, and Lemon Chicken. Each of these dishes were delicious, no chemical tastes or blandness, just pure flavor! Prices are definitely reasonable, and the inside is always very clean and welcoming. The staff is also very kind. I hope a town like Vacaville can keep this place alive because it's one of the better spots in town!

I have had the papaya salad, which is pretty fantastic. It is nice and spicy and tangy at the same time.
I also have tried the red green and yellow curry. I like the yellow the best.. Really what more can you say than good, fragrant, flavorful curry. Nice portion size. Yeah!
I have also had the PD noodle dish. It was pretty good.

Very good selection of dishes. Tasty cooking and affordable pricing. Friendly attentive personnel and clean utensils.

The surrounding neighbourhood is a bit run down but nevertheless fairly safe: we've been here few times and nothing have happened to our cars.
You can get a bottle of chilled vine on the same plaza across the parking lot there is a Liquor store.

What could be better in a hot summer day after a daylong shopping at the Outlets up the road?

Definitely 5* for food, minus one* for the location (sorry guys).

Well,  I am a big time yelper so I yelped Thai and found the Rose Garden.
The decor was great and the service was excellent. The menu had a lot less than I expected. Water flavored with oranges very refreshing. We started with spring rolls which were pretty good (Not fried),  BBQ pork excellent, yellow chicken curry and pad Thai which were both pretty good. The prices were very good.
I usually go to S&L in fairfield and I love there food. I really craved citrus chicken and crispy beef and its not on the rose garden menu. If only the Rose Garden had similar dishes I would never go back to S&L, but they don't so I have to say I am still loyal to S&L.
I will definitely go back to the Rose Garden and get the BBQ pork and try some other dishes, but I am a creature of habit.
Definitely, give this place a try, it just does not have my favorites:)

Stopped into Rose Garden today and ordered takeout. It was amazing!! I didn't have time to sit down and eat but I've been too excited to try this place! It's a little hidden so you have to be looking for it.

The inside is super cute and clean. It's not a big restaurant but there's def. enough room. The people working there were extremely friendly. I only ordered one item: chicken pad thai. You can order certain items spicy so I asked for it "medium spicy". It was great! If you really like some spice I suggest you get it very spicy...I probably could've handled it with a little more spice. The flavors were wonderful and they gave me a small side of chili sauce which was good. I finished the whole thing! I also noticed they had some dinner specials up on the board. They sounded delicious!

    The prices are very affordable.

I will definitely go back again to Rose Garden but next time, order more food and enjoy it "in- house".

    Can't wait to go back!!!

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but wow! Nice atmosphere inside, quiet and romantic type setting. Service was top notch- its true- your water glass will never go empty. Language barrier is a little rough. But the real treat is the food! We got the fried tofu and egg rolls which were tasty and the pineapple fried rice is awesome! My husband and I go out  once a week w/o the kids and are always looking for an escape from the chain restaurants. So glad we found Rose Garden- we will definaltey be going back!

Thai food in Vacaville or rather the lack of Thai food options in Vacaville, has just been changed and it's all thanks to the Rose Garden 1 of only 2 Thai restaurants in the area that proves once again that competition is good for everyone.

Right off the bat I will tell you that easily the biggest advantage the Rose Garden has  are it's business hours.  Look, I love Ruen Thai (the only other Thai restaurant in Vacaville) but the hours are shall we say, lacking.  Both places offer excellent food, atmosphere and customer service but when it's all said and done it's the hours that the Rose Garden is open that put it on par with it's competitor.

You'd be hard pressed to find many if any issues with the Rose Garden.  Albeit the location could be better and aside from a few dishes, most noticeable the seafood soup having a different yet perfectly fine flavor too it I can't wait to go back.  What it really boils down to is where you are and how much time you have.  If I'm near the Rose Garden for lunch or dinner, I'll go their like wise if Ruen is closer (or even open) I'll go their either way you can't lose so eat up!
