Open mike review:
The Rose Room Revue is held on Thursday's at 7:30pm in the upstairs of the Rose Garden.
Matt Lindy is the host. He's very friendly and supportive and the room is 'cozy'. It's not really a performance space, but a dining room being borrowed. It works well enough. Folkies.
There is a feature act that plays at 9pm, and a pass-the-hat style cover. Over-all it's a good open mike, with acts getting 15-20 minutes each. The night's I've been were not too crowded, but it may be getting tighter (it's been a while). It's not hard to find someone to sit in with you. Sometimes, an open jam breaks out at the end of the night.
Matt's great, you should get to know him. He's a wealth of info. http://www.myspace.com...
It's a Chinese restaurant.
The atmosphere is nice, but a little bit sterile. There is something missing.
The lunch buffet is above your average cheap Chinese restaurant in quality, but also nothing to write home about.
Essentially, I've come here a few times because it's close to work, and its the best of a few OK, but not spectacular options.

I have had Rose Garden deliver to my home 3 times. Their delivery is fast, and the driver is always nice. The food is good, basic Chinese take out. Ingredients always seem fresh. Moo Shi has too much cabbage (last time, I could barely see any pork in it at all). Their Hot and Sour soup is good, and so is their Chicken and Broccoli. Overall, a safe, reasonably priced option for take out.
