We've been using Roscoe Recess for a few months, and are totally satisfied and happy with the service. Most importantly, they have always been completely agreeable to our time requests for making sure our puppy gets out! Also: they leave great, detailed notes about the walk, have been available for last-minute weekend walks, have turned off our coffee maker when we left it on, and supplied us with a dog towel and poop bag carrier. They seem to really enjoy Molly (the dog), and that makes all the difference in having peace of mind while away at work! We've had Elanor, Anthony and Carrie walk our puppy--all have been wonderful and friendly. Molly could not ask for a better dog walking service!!

I have been using Roscoe Recess for a few weeks now and I absolutely LOVE it. I work odd hours with a constantly changing schedule and no matter when I need my walker (Anthony rocks) he is available for me. When I come home I have a note letting me know the details of the walk. It's just nice to know my pup got some attention while I was working.
I would (and do!) recommend Roscoe Recess for anyone looking for a dog walking service! -

Roscoe Recess is an amazing company and the owner Carrie Ensign is fantastic. She knows a great deal about animal behaviour and makes a true effort to ensure the owner and the pet(s) are comfortable and happy.
This is definetely a company I would trust with a set of my house keys and my pet. The prices are fair and Carrie is very understanding with her clients. She is flexible as far as scheduling, cancellations and assisting with anything further you might need.
The foundation of this company is very strong due to Carrie's ability to be persoable, friendly, and administrative at the same time. I would highly recommend Roscoe Recess for the busy Chicagoan whose looking to give their pet a fun play date in the middle of the day. -

Roscoe Recess has been walking our dog for a year now. They are super trust worthy and flexible. Unlike some local dog walkers they are completely flexible with number of walks per week and last minute cancellations/ scheduled walks. It's great to know that not only does Grody get a good midday walk but if I get hung up at work I can call Carrie and get a "happy hour" walk as well. Chris even makes sure our cats get a treat from time to time.
When our dog started with some crazy behaviors Carrie and the walkers were completely open to working with us and finding a solution. She even came out with the walkers to see our pup was up to. I highly recommend this service. -

Awesomeness.
I've been using Roscoe Recess for a few months now and I couldn't be happier. I did the spreadsheet thing. I called around to a number of different dogwalking services and I was either turned off by the general attitude or the price. And hey! Not many places even walk dogs in Logan Square, which sucks...but Roscoe Recess does. ;)
Carrie is wonderful. I and my dogs met her before any walking began, and I was not only impressed with her experience, but also? I truly like her. She's good people. You know who else is good people? My dog walker Josh. He's taken out a bag of trash outside my back door which I forgot to bring down one morning, he's picked up the occasional mess in the house before he gets there, and he leaves these little report cards just gushing abut my dogs. He's always been very, very good with my guys and I have always been very, very appreciative.
So thank you, Roscoe Recess and keep up the good work! To Yelpers: if you're looking for a phenomenal dog walking service, look no further; this is the place. -

I've been using Roscoe Recess for almost a year now. Carrie is extremely professional and very hands-on. I did a lot of research on dog walkers both on-line and through word-of-mouth, and found that she was the one with the most flexibility for my work schedule. (*Note: I found her through one of my neighbors who was also using her service and has varying work schedule per week too.)
I had just started a new position at work where I was working from home about 50% of the time and couldn't committ to specific days and times each week. Carrie was very understanding and said that I could call or email her the Sunday before with my schedule needs for the week. Once I even had a client cancel a meeting the day of so I was going to be at home that day...I called a couple hours before to see if I could cancel and Carrie said "No problem!"
Carrie brings her dog walker and potential back-up dog walker for the first greeting. My regular dog walker recently gave his notice so she brought the new dog walker with her to go through the protocol on the next visit. The new dog walker seems to be very perceptive...in her report, she said she doesn't think my puppy likes the color yellow! Said 'he barked at someone getting in a taxi, a man getting out of a yellow jeep, and a man in a yellow coat.' Very interesting as I just read in an animal book the weekend before that many animals are scared of things in yellow!
All in all, Roscoe Recess is flexible, reliable, professional...and only walks one dog at a time. Really like how Carrie manages her team...and will step in to walk if her dog walkers can't accommodate last minute requests. Oh, and they are great with new puppies -- will make sure their walks are a priority given that they are still potty training!
P.S. If my review convinces you to give Roscoe Recess a try, please let Carrie know that I sent you. Thanks! -

I just got my first dog, an energetic 7-week old lab/blue heeler mix. I read articles and books to prepare for the responsibility of training a puppy. Little did I know that it really is like having a kid with the sleep deprivation, disciplining, and the mess. I found Roscoe Recess on craigslist and chose to try them out because the puppy care prices were great and they seemed organized and caring, well as much as I could tell from their website.
I was pleasantly surprised. I have had great experiences with my walker and the owner, Carrie. I can easily contact Carrie and let her know if there is a sudden change of plans for that day, meaning that I may unexpectedly be home and won't need their services, and she's great to respond without any problems.
Being a brand spankin' new dog owner, I am obviously clueless a lot of the time. I have contacted her with many questions, asking for advice, and she has helped tremendously on every occasion.
My little guy, named Taters, wasn't eating a lot and had a very inconsistent and erratic pooping schedule which resulted in many crate accidents. I emailed Carrie and she suggested softening his food to help him chew and it worked! He started eating a lot more and pooping on a schedule, resulting in a lot less accidents.
Recently, I just started to bring Taters outside and I started to worry and become frustrated because he refused to walk and would just sit. I contacted Carrie immediately and she gave me some recommendations. I, honestly, did not even get a chance to try them because by the time I came home the next day to try her suggestions, he walked/ran/chewed on rocks/attacked leaves with no problem. Our walker had brought him out that day and pretty much solved the problem. I was so excited!
I love the report cards that are left after very visit. Carrie and her walkers are awesome. I am looking to move this summer and actually want to stay in my neighborhood or at least in the area so that I do not have to look for new walkers.
My thinking is that if Carrie can train wild animals, she can care for and help train your pets. -

I have had Roscoe Recess walking my dog Shadow for about a month now and I am very pleased. Megan is Shadow's primary dog walker and Ariel is Megan's back up walker for my dog and they leave me helpful notes about Shadow's walks. I like how the same two people walk my dog and I trust them. Thanks Carrie (the owner), Megan and Ariel!

looking for a dog walker for our pride and joy, a 100 lb Doberman mix, proved to be a little stressful.
we obviously wanted someone we could trust to care for our pup and trust with our house keys.
We are so glad we found Roscoe Recess (so is our dog!) The owner, Carrie Ensign, took alot of time to talk to us about her love of animals (she's a former zoo keeper!) and made us feel very comfortable.
now when we come home our dog is exercised and content. Roscoe Recess even leaves us a little report card telling us what time they were there, if the dog went #1 and #2 (tee hee), and what his energy level was like.
I highly reccomend Roscoe Recess - they are trustworthy people who offer a variety of pet services at competitive prices. -

Roscoe Recess is a fantastic dog walking service that I have been using for almost two years now. My two dogs are home all day long during the weekdays while my wife and I are both at work., but get a daily 25 minute walk from RR. When we first investigated dog walkers, we looked at about 3 or 4 and there was no question that RR was the ideal choice. Some of the others would walk dogs from different households together, whereas with RR your dog(s) get their own personal walks to better ensure that their walk is productive, fun, and that they get good attention from the walker.
Carrie is incredibly responsive and flexible. On occasions where we need to cancel a walk at the last minute (such as even the morning of) an email sent to Carrie saying so is promptly replied to with a confirmation and it has never been a problem. Other times we have requested that our dogs get walked later than usual -- a request that has always been met.
Last December Carrie rented out the indoor dog park in the neighborhood to throw a holiday/end of year party for all her clients. It was a great way to get the dogs some play time and a sign that Carrie really loves her job and is committed to it and her clients.
Without a doubt, Carrie and the walkers with RR are true dog lovers who provide nothing by the best services possible.
