DELICIOUS AND CHEAP!!!
Here's another one of my favorite cheap spots in Seattle. Cheap but GOOD! I've been coming here since it was called the "Rowdy Cowgirl." Even after the owner change, things are still delicious.

There is pretty much not one bad thing on the menu. I usually get a pulled pork sandwich with a baked beans and potato salad on the side.  My friend usually goes for the Beef Brisquet and the wedge fries. The warm cornbread is also delicious.

There are about 6 different sauces on every table in varying degrees of spice and hotness. This is great so you can flavor everything the way you want it.

The meats are always moist and smokey, the sides are always delicious and cap off your meal with a beer or a home-made soda!
This place is SMALL, so you might have to wait a bit, but it's so worth it. So bring a hungry stomach, order up some pork, ribs or brisquet and grab a couple of PBRs and you will not be disappointed.

One more plus is the totally adorable Rockabilly girls who work here. They are always helpful, friendly and so sweet. Easy on the eyes, too!
Oh, and they always play great music here. Rockabilly and C&W really add to the vibe.

This place is amazing for BBQ in Seattle.

I have had BBQ all over the country and this is one of the better places, but not thee best.

Ribs - Fall off the bone good, smokey flavor
Pulled Pork - Tender, bun is heaven
Mac & Cheese - Awesome and creamy
Seattle Succotash - Nice light and Tasty side
Corn Bread - Smooth and delicate, good stuff
BBQ Baked Beans - Good w/ added BBQ sauce

This place is so adorable and cozy. Nice atmosphere and nice people! Best of all... REALLY good food.

This is a monthly repeat to inspire my overall happiness.

Let me start off by saying that in terms of US States, I have only lived in WA and OR.  While I love to travel, I have not had the opportunity to visit fine barbecue states such as Texas, Tennessee, the Carolinas, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, and so on.  Therefore, I don't know much about barbecue, other than my own personal tastes and preferences.

My visit to RoRo was a complete disappointment.

The three reasons why I chose to have dinner at RoRo:

1. It is on my way home from work.
2. We received a Valpak coupon for buy one lunch or dinner entrée and get the other one free with the purchase of two drinks
3. The rave reviews from fellow Yelpers.

Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion.  I just really wasn't very impressed by the food here.

We were greeted upon entering and didn't have any problems ordering.  We sat at a table next to the window.  This was a poor choice because it was windy outside and the cold seeped in through the windows and made the dining experience unpleasant.  No, wait, that was the food.... oh, my bad.

I loved the many side options but wish that fries was one of the two options.  If you choose fries, they're your only side.

I had the beans and mac and cheese.  While the beans were ordinary and nothing spectacular (think baked beans from a can),  the mac and cheese reminded me of the mac and cheese that I got as a kid for hot lunch in elementary school.  Bland, boring, and yucky.  Reliving my childhood impulses, I had the urge to fling it onto the ceiling!  But being a goody-goody, I refrained.

While creamy, the cheese flavor  of the mac and cheese was seriously lacking.  I like mixing it up when I make macaroni and cheese and have been known to throw in different kinds of cheeses from sharp cheddar to cream cheese, gruyere, pepper jack, and gouda.

The presentation was not the prettiest, and the portion sides were perfect for me, but left hubby wishing they were a tad larger.

We both had the pulled pork.  The pork alone was bland and while yes, this is barbecue, we couldn't help but slather our pork with a nice bath of barbecue sauce.  I wish that the pulled pork had a smokier flavor.  While I like to add barbecue sauce to things like pulled pork, I rather think of it as a condiment, like ketchup is to french fries, not like beans or mac and cheese, which are side dishes.  I don't like drowning my pulled pork anymore than I like drowning my fries.

The barbecue sauce was meh.  I wasn't that impressed.  I wish that the sauces had more depth and were more complex.  That doesn't say much, but I just found the sauces to be uninteresting and flat in taste.

While I love living and working in North Seattle, I will have to venture further south, where I hear there's good barbecue.  Not just talking about the Southern US, but more like South Seattle.  Anything else but RoRo!

If I asked Astro from The Jetsons what he thought about Ro Ro, he'd probably say, "Ruh Roh."

First the good: Service was prompt and friendly.  You also get a decent selection of sides to pick from with your sandwiches, but given that they charge $8.95 for a sandwich, it better come with sides.

Now the meh: I've been twice.  On my first visit I got a beef brisket sandwich.  It was just okay.  Maybe mediocre at best.  For me, the beef brisket sandwich at Pecos Pit sets the standard in Seattle.  Having said that, Ro Ro's falls way short in terms of flavor, smokiness and overall meat quality.

On my second visit I tried the pulled pork sandwich.  For lack of a better description, the pork tasted old.  I wondered if the pork was frozen and reheated.  it just had that "leftovers" kind of flavor, but in a bad way.  I ate about 1/2 of it before pitching it into the garbage can.

I wish the owners well, but I doubt that I'll be back.

The first bite of the pulled pork sandwich made me see stars.  Shortly after I ceased to be able to feel the top of my brain, and when it came back it was warm fuzzy and tingly.  You know exactly what I'm talking about - it was that good!

You get exactly what you expect from the menu items, and there is a  concentrated variety - it's only barbecue, but it's the whole table in the back yard - complete with the red and white tablecloth.  Loads of meat, baked beans, non-creamy slaw (best I ever had), mac n cheese, succotash, much more.  They even have an interesting take on the classic sundae, but there's no ice cream in this one.

The pulled meats melt in your mouth.  The buns have a crisp golden buttery toasting that is just right the right balance of crispy and moist.  They have an assortment of different sauces, none too spicy, but each with unique and flavorful taste (check out Rob's Reserve!).  Each meal is generous with two sides and a main dish, but won't leave you with a food coma.  Wide assortment of beverages that are well paired to the style of food - try the fizz drinks!  They also offer mexicola and some other sodas, or corona, pacifico, sierra nevada beers to name a few.

Inside dining seems preferred even on (the rare!) nice days of Fall/Winter/Spring.  There's big red picnic tables outside on a strip of grass, but they're right on the road - mid afternoon or evening on a weekend it's quiet and enjoyable though.  This little red barbecue shack really stands out as a refreshingly unique oasis on the ugly industrial stretch of Stone way.  However, it is quite small inside, so if it's busy you might not get to sit together if your group is bigger than 4.  Everyone who has served me has always been very friendly.  I go back whenever I can!

My regular meal: pulled pork sandwich, mac n cheese, slaw, mexicola

Coming from the South, eating BBQ is a somewhat spiritual experience for me.  Not only am I looking to mouth-watering meat that falls off the bone, but I am excited for the warmth and friendliness of  the staff who serve it to me.  But then I realized I was in Seattle.

The lady at the counter met me with the usually Seattle Ice.  She then gave me sass because I didn't know that the "RoRo Sauce" was in fact just the "Rowdy Sauce" and "Spicy Sauce" mixed together.  She kindly offered that I could take both and work my magic.

They forgot my wife's side of cornbread which was also a minus.  Finally, the food.  We were both hungry after having eaten it.  You shouldn't be hungry after BBQ.  They were really, really sparse with the meat, it should be OVERFLOWING the bun.  The sides (we got a side of mac & cheese) come in a thimble.

3 stars because what meat, sides, and sauce we did manage to get were extremely good.  If they would just be a bit more generous with the amounts and hired someone who would just be a bit more friendly to the customers, this would be a 5 star place!

The lady that worked behind the counter had some serious 'tude which was annoying.  That and my side of corn bread wasn't in my bag when I got home.  That and I had about half as much meat in my sandwich as I would have wanted from a bbq place and was still hungry after dinner.  Ok i'm done venting now  ;)

The sauces were tasty, so 3 stars.

In my opinion, RoRo's has got the best BBQ in Seattle; they are to BBQ what Paseo is to Cuban sandwiches. That is not praise to give lightly.

The pulled chicken sandwich is a work of delicious art.  The beef brisket is popular among my friends. Their house sauces are wonderful -- Rowdy Sass is my favorite -- and the sides are wonderful. While I haven't eaten my way through the menu, I've tried maybe half and have yet to have a bad meal.

The RoRo's staff has always been friendly, even discussing BBQ techniques with my boyfriend during a slow period. I have yet to take anyone there and have them leave unhappy.

Also, they have Mexican Coke, which is made with real sugar instead of corn syrup.  YUM!

Who knew great BBQ would be in Seattle?

Besides the wonderful service, homemade mac and cheese, refreshing beverages and the creamed corn, the BBQ here is primo.

I've had the pulled pork before and I could have just died. The gal serving us that evening gave me a taste of their mac and cheese, and creamed corn... I have no words it's that good.

I dream of coming back here and trying everything RoRo's has to offer... But for now I can only drool of the thought of their tasty bites.

I went to this place after the outstanding reviews. HUGE mistake! The one and only server had the worst attitude I have ever encountered. She was short, snippy, and down right rude to my party. Her entire demeanor was completely insulting as if we were bothering her by showing up. She even talked down to us when we asked questions about the menu. I wanted to leave before we even ordered but my brother swore the bbq was delicious. Don't remember her name but she clearly did not see the value of wearing a bra in the cold weather. Did everyone really need to see her bullet like nipples poking thru her sweater while trying to enjoy our lunch? Never going back there again unless the owners either hires a new server or she takes the cactus out of her a**.

So the good was: ribs, mac n cheese, and pulled pork were delicious. Prices were decent.

So far I've been here once, so it's possible upon further visits my review could fluctuate. However....

Just when I thought there was a complete dearth of good barbecue in Seattle, we came upon RoRo. I chose this place because of the good reviews, but also because I call my BFF Rosie RoRo, because (I hope) it bugs her.  So I figured it couldn't be bad.

And it wasn't! I got the hotlink sandwich. I ain't had a spicy sausage 'dwich (that's the new slang for sandwich, btw) that good since I took a bite of some queen's 'dwich from the Nelly Deli in NOLA in the middle of the night back in 2004. That was a great bite. This 'dwich was also fantastic. The sausage was fairly spicy, and it didn't have that more-fatty-than-meaty consistency I've encountered in sausage before.

Both sides I had were good, and my dad's chicken - no sauce (he's Alaskan, I don't know what to say) - was good, even plain. I didn't try his sides but I think he liked them. He REALLY liked that they had unsweetened iced tea.

The only detraction was that the lemonade I got, I'm almost 100% sure, had gone off.  The server/cashier girl told me that it was just very tart and sour, but look. I fucking LOVE lemonade. I make it all the damn time, and I know lemon-sour and I know it's-gone-off-bitter and I also know shit from Shinola, and I really think it the concentrate they used had gone bad. But I'm sure that was a one time thing, so I ain't gonna hold it against them, especially since I hadn't had any caffeine. And also because nobody's lemonade will ever live up to mine.

Give RoRo a try! Best bbq/comfort food I've had in Seattle, hands down. Better than the totally lackluster Kingfish.

Yum.

This is a great way to enjoy tasty barbecue and some delicious side dishes without lumbering away feeling like Bubba the Pig and enduring heartburn all night.

The meat is on the lean side, very high quality, and sides like the slaw and succotash taste fresh and homemade. There'll never be one barbecue sauce that fits everyone's taste, so RoRo has a choice of sauces on the table -- sweet, hot, and North Carolina vinegar style, and some combinations thereof.

We've been to RoRo twice and both times have been charmed by the service and the food. (And the iced tea!)

This place is AMAZING.  I have been on a desperate search for good BBQ in Seattle (being Southern, I get cravings), and this is the only place I've found worth spending money on.  On top of a great selection of meat and sandwiches, they have homemade succotash, excellent baked beans, and a whole bunch of other stuff I wanted to eat, but only had one sitting.  I had the pulled chicken sandwich delux (with slaw), succotash and baked beans.  Awesome.  They also have a great selection of beer and sodas, most (if not all) local.  I am so glad I can walk to RoRo.

If you work near here like I do I suggest placing RoRo in the back of your head and trying to forget it exists. If you don't do this you will be tempted by it every moment of every day. The BBQ sauces are amazing. The sides are delicious. The meat is succulent and tender. Also they have Mexican coke and beer.

This place is a little small. In the summer you can sit outside but in the winter you might end up sharing a table. Either way its worth it.

I haven't been to the middle America or the South to try the REAL BBQ, but as a meat expert...trust me, I have tried many different kinds of meat from different places.  AND, I would have to say RoRo is the goods.   How do I make the judgment?  1. flavor, 2. juiciness and tenderness and 3. the sauce.

1. Flavor was there.  That classic smoky hickory flavor was perfectly balanced with the meatiness.  Sometimes I find BBQ places overdo on the smoky flavor.  I personally think it takes away the meaty flavor away.  That was NoNo for RoRo.  They balanced the smoky flavor perfectly with that deep meaty flavor of ribs.

2. Tenderness?  Forget about it.  It was literally falling off the bones.  No need for silverware.  I just took the ribs and gently pulled it apart.  It did all the work itself.  It dissipated in my mouth.  Other thing is that when I pulled it apart, juice dripped off of it.  Yes, it was that moist.  Even before I put it in my mouth I knew it was going to be good.

3. They had 4-5 different sauces.  All really good.  I went between the Spicy and RoRo.  The sauces did not stand out on their own.  They were good with the meat.  That is always what I am looking for.  Again, a lot of times sauces take over the meat.  RoRo sauces were all complimentary to the meat even their spiciest sauce didn't take over the flavor.  BBQ's highlight is the meat not the smokiness of it or the sauce on it.

Lastly, the wait was VERY LONG but they still had great service.  huh? what?  What do you mean, Won?  That' because the server came over and apologized and explained why it was taking a long time.  She even gave us some corn bread and corn to chow on while we waited.  This is great service.  To me great service doesn't have to be fast but informative.  I just need to know when I am going to eat.

I say the food here is 4 stars but service bumped it up to 5.  I was very impressed with the service here.  Hidden between Fremont and Wallingford this is my new favorite of the month.

Had lunch there yesterday taking the order taker's recommendation of the pulled pork sandwich with succotash and broccoli cole slaw for sides.

I didn't think the pulled pork sandwich was anything special. Kind of low on the smoke or maybe they didn't smoke it at all? Definitely requires a healthy dose of sauce. They have a selection of 7 homemade sauces on the table of which I tried 3 and didn't find one that I really enjoyed. I definitely think Maximus Minimus does a better pulled pork, and maybe Slo Joes.

The sides are definitely unique. The succotash was very bright in flavor and tasty. The broccoli coleslaw is a combination that leaves much to be desired. Watermelon Fizz wasn't sweet enough for me, but I don't like drinking straight soda water or selzer either.

My lunch clocked in at $12 which I think is probably $3 too much...

Street parking was plentiful and free.

Not too bad at all.  First the negatives.  There is a pretty long wait for anything.  The ribs can be a bit over smoked.  The sides seem a little small for what you pay for.  Now the pluses.  It's good.  Even with the slightly over smoked ribs i got once, it was still good.  the sides are all good.  the service is awesome.  you will get yelled at but in a really great way.  the sauces  are great.  I could drink them.  but i won't.  they have these cupcakes on the counter, they are amazing.  they have good cheap and not cheap beer.  it's a cool place.  I recommend eating in though.  i feel like the portions are better if you sit down and eat.

Great food. Love the BBQ pulled pork & chicken.

The biggest problem has got to be who I assume is RoRo herself.

Seriously, put a muzzle on this girl.

I used to come in as frequently as three times a week and she'd always greet me asking if I had ever been there before in that sappy, pseudo-southern accent. Okay, facial recognition isn't a skill for everyone, I can live with that. The other issue is her over-injection of sassafras folksy country lingo and exclamation outbursts every one to two minutes. I get it, its southern, its BBQ...but it doesn't have to be hillbilly.

The music can get a tad bit annoying and whatever is playing on the television is a little bewildering.

I decided to just pick up my food from now on and bring it home. That usually works well. One thing that did really get me mad was bringing home one of the sauces and finding macaroni in it. Eww.

Anyhow, RoRo needs to cut down on the southern version of Sarah Palin. Can't really take much more of the aww gee, aww shucks this here chuck wagon broke an axle and we lost five days. Somebody go ford across the mighty river of Fremont.

Great food! The Hot Link sandwhich is amazing, and although they offer a wide variety of BBQ & hot sauces, I usually stick with RoRo's Reserve.

One order is enough to fill me up. I would recommend against the brownies though (they never seem satisfying).

The staff is fun, the location is unique, and the food is excellent. Treat yourself!

Yum. Most NW BBQ joints have figured out that BBQ involves meat-like products, perhaps liquid smoke, and a brownish-red sauce. This makes folks exposed to real bbq sad.

Hint: Gristle is not meat. And a dirty look and adding molasses to ketchup ain't barbecue sauce.

Ro-ro, though, is on the right track. It's not Tennessee bbq, but tender well-smoked meat falling apart at the mere hint of a sharp glance is a good step in the right direction. With a selection of sauces, both the pork and the brisket were wonderful.

The mac cheese side was good, but not El Gaucho's OMFG good (but then, it wasn't OMFG my aching wallet, either) - good enough you could come in and with just a hint of salt make a meal of it. Cornbread was good, and nice things were said about the slaw by the companion person.

A side note, they DO have a non-alcoholic beer supplementing their magnificent selection of fully leaded bottled beers - and it's NOT NOT NOT their fault that the selection of near beers out there run the gamut from piss poor to reasonably adequate.

Nich and I go here once a week and it's truly a glorious experience each and every time.  From the hugely popular and equally productive waitress (who called Nich out on his review today - haha), to the amazing food and great selection of beer, there is no equal BBQ in Seattle.

Recommended is the pulled pork with cole slaw on top - fitting named "The Deluxe"  - sides I enjoy include: the always fresh and light succotash, the creamy, melt-in-your-mouth mac & cheese, the fluffy corn bread and the rich, potato salad.  There are other sides but those are my favorite.  As a side note (not really), you can't have any sandwich without the sauces (there are 6 or 7) - try the Rob's Reserve, the is BBQ sauce from the God's!

Now I know I'll catch a bit of flack for not giving this joint the coveted 5 stars but it's lunch.  That said, it's probably the best BBQ lunch I've had in Seattle.  You go now.

I wanting nothing more than to have the most badical BBQ experience here but sadly, I didn't.

My main issue was the lack of sanitation !! HOLY HELL !!!

The woman who works behind the counter is in serious need of either a box of rubber gloves OR learning how to wash her hands after she does nasty ass things like, oh, I don't know, HANDLING NASTY ASS MONEY or washing tables with a filthy rag. She did BOTH of those things &  then proceeded to make a "mint iced tea" for my boyfriend.  She started out by picking the mint leaves out of a big bag with her bare hands & then placed her entire PALM over the glass while mashing the mint into the ice. WHAT ????!!?!??!?!

My boyfriend's balls will probably fall off now.

It was incredibly rank.

I could not touch ANY of the BBQ bottles on the table without using a wet-nap because everything is caked with the funk of the 34234 people who've eaten there before us. I am SURE none of that shit is wiped down.

I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with corn bread (which was a MUFFIN not bread) and mac & cheese. The sandwich was tiny & fairly decent as far as flavor. The mac & cheese was OK too but wicked runny & not very cheesy. The corn muffin was just that. A tiny little muffin. Big deal.

My boyfriend got the ribs & the same sides. He isn't too terribly thrilled with his meal either.

Hmph.

I'm glad we finally had a chance to go here so that way we never have to do it again.

So sad too because we like to eat & we LOVE to eat BBQ.

NOW GO WASH YOUR FRAKKING HANDS !!!!!!!!!!

I love ribs.  Any ribs.  Crappy ribs, soggy ribs, dry ribs, any ribs.  Especially good ribs.  RoRo, most of the time, has very good ribs.  I usually get take out and here is why they have lost two stars.  The owner is very friendly and always up for some back and forth banter but the banter sometimes distracts from the order being correct.  Every time it seems that corn bread is missing, an extra was left out, something important was forgotten.  Every once in a while, sure, human error, sure I get it.  The last three visits though?  It can't be THAT hard to double check the receipt and make sure.

The food is delicious.  So far I've had the ribs and the pulled pork sandwich "spiked", meaning added hotlinks.  And goddamn is that sandwich tasty.  The special house sauce is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy and there is plenty of it.  If you notice in the first part of the review I said "most the time" the ribs are very good.  A few months ago me and a friend got the ribs and then after we ordered and paid we were told that they had a problem with their distributor and that they had to get a different kind and were receiving complaints about them.  Information I could have had five minutes before, but whatevskies.  Those ribs had too much fat and not enough flavor.  I haven't had them since so I don't know if they are back to normal.  If they are, go for it.

Eating there has never been a problem but trust me, if you get it to go CHECK YOUR BAG.

Being homesick for some good ol' comfort food from my native land of Texas, I am ashamed that it took my fiance and I almost four entire months to 'discover' this place. We recently moved to an apartment a mere 5min walk away from RoRo and we were all 'Gee, we should go there some day, it's the closest restaurant to our place...' and we'd just never go.

The pulled chicken and the bbq chicken sandwiches are damn incredible. The 1/2 lb burger is insanely huge and always stuffed with delicious fresh veggies and there are so many delicious sauces to choose from, it's never a disappointment. I prefer the Rob's Reserve, personally. It's got a nice kick without going overboard. I'll admit that the cornbread isn't really that amazing (small and dry) but the iced tea is great and they carry Shiner which just earns huge points in itself.

As for the tacky dissing on the cashier chick who is always there, she is awesome. She doesn't hesitate to make a person feel welcome and we've never seen her grumpy or rude. Being the only person taking orders, delivering orders, refilling drinks, etc. she kicks ass for being pleasant while dealing with the chaos of a typically packed restaurant. This isn't some high class, high maintenance, foodie mecca...it's a freakin BBQ joint and the atmosphere is as authentic as the food.

Also, it seems that a lot of people generalize BBQ into a single category but it differs from where it originates, a lot like pizza. Texas BBQ vs. Mississippi BBQ vs. Tennesse BBQ...they're all a bit different in flavor and technique.

I'm not saying this place is heaven-sent nor does it make it into the top 5 of my most favorite BBQ joints of all time (I *heart* Rudy's and Salt Lick) but for Seattle, for the price and location, it's pretty damn good.

PS always ask what the seasonal side is, if it's the sauteed green beans with onions and bacon. DO NOT HESITATE.

PSS One real complaint I do have, they close at 8pm so for those of us who are late dinner people, it stinks. (They're also closed on Mondays)

We discovered serendipitiously when trolling Stone Way for plumbing fixtures and tile... we'd passed by it like 20 times and never bothered to try it.

So glad we finally did.

Officially and instantly some of our favorite BBQ in Seattle (though of course that's typically more of an oxymoron than a huge accomplishment), and I already shlepped over there at 10 minutes before they closed on Sunday night to grab a round to go for the family.

Highlights -- the pork and brisket sandwiches and the creamed corn (holy yum)

Solid -- the spareribs and baked beans

Lowlights -- the mac & cheese is all cream and lacking in flavor, the slaw is similarly all vinegar and underseasoned, the chipotle brownie/cake has nice heat but is just dry & crumbly vs. moist & decadent

Roro row your boat straight up my pleasure canal! Totally awesome BBQ! I've lived in the south and just couldn't find anything even close to decent in Seattle, until RoRo. Had the beef brisket, potato salad & beans. BF had the pulled pork, mac and cheese and corn bread. Everything was home made and had enough food to fill me up. Ran about $10 each with drinks. Several sauces to choose from at your table and the owner was really helpful.

If you're feelin like some home made goodness, and love you some meat, go to RoRo.  It's close to the Pac Inn too; a nice little corner of goodness in Wallingford.

Small & cute rustic shack. Bottled IPAs and homemade sodas...

The bbq pork is so delicious! Meat falling off the bone YUMMY!

The server is so helpful, friendly, and quite funny too! She even gave me a run down about their 6 different hot sauces. She sounded like a professional hot sauce sommelier... cool! I could tell that they are really proud of their product.

"RoRo (snapping my fingers)... you go girl!"

I LOVE RORO! i eat here more regularly that the kitchen in my own house. seriously. this is some of the best food in town and a price that can't be freaking beat. i never leave any less than stuffed and am always smiling on the way out of the door. whenever i bring the hound, darlin kelly feeds her BBQ so even my dog loves it whe i come here. my brother always begs me to take him here when he is home on break from school. those who work in the kitchen at my restaurant love the sweet potato fries so much that all i need do to get in their good graces is bring in a side or two. bacisly- i, and all those around me, are better for me eating at this place. if you haven't eaten here yet, i pity your poor and unfulfilled existance and encourage gettin your butt in here as soon as possible. i ain't messin around...

Great vibe in RoRo's, and as a lot of folks have mentioned, the woman (owner?) running the joint brings a lot of energy.  Even though the place was packed, she was super friendly with everyone, took time to explain all of the sauces (yum, Rowdy's sauce), and just generally made you feel welcome.  Oh, and they've got tall-boy PBRs.
I had the pork ribs, mac & cheese, and coleslaw.  Tim got the pulled pork sammie and beans.  Pork was falling off the bone, and the mac & cheese was creamy deliciousness.  The coleslaw was a great addition to the sandwich, but on its own, a bit bland.  Loved the baked beans too, just like my Mom's!
I asked Tim if we should rate RoRo's a 4 or 5 star, and he says, "Well, I mean, it was good, but it's not like I have to back and eat there again today."  And thus, the 4 star rating.
Still, delish BBQ served up in a sassy, sweet style.

This is where the locals eat. Often. I eat here at least once a week and love it. The food is excellent, the service is first-rate, the atmosphere is fun and prices are low. Where else in Seattle can you get great food, attentive service, Betty Boop on the big screen, and Freddy Hart over the sound system? I ask you.
Their BBQ selections are consistently fine. I like the Pulled Pork the best, but be sure to ask Kelli about the special of the day, which can be to-swoon-for. The ribs are great. Their sides are tasty and healthy. If the Side Special of the Day is the Green Beans with bacon and caramelized onions, order it. Or try the Seattle Succotash.
Kelli, the manager, is whip-smart and really cares about great service. Rob, the owner, is kinda cute and has great legs.

The food is pretty good. We have ordered a few things and have always been happy with the food. The sandwiches and shoestring fries are yummy.  Same with the iced tea!

The place is clean and small but there has always been room for us.  They also have a pretty big compost program and seem to be some what 'earth friendly' on the outside.

I think we could both live without the "what do you want sweetie" and "Thanks honey pie" stuff that the workers say.  They aren't rude, it's just kind of annoying.  :)

The woman who works behind the counter at RoRo's is reason in itself to go there. She is funny, sassy and a bit quirky. I adore going there because her personality shines through the place. Plus, she knows her sauce and gives excellent service.

I'm picky about my BBQ after living in Oklahoma, but I really enjoy this place. The pulled pork is tender as is the chicken. I really like the vinegar cole slaw and the corn muffins are some of the best I've had in the Northwest.

If you check your valu-pak when it comes in the meals, there is usually a deal for buy one dinner, get the second for free. How can you beat that?

I live just a few blocks from this little place, but I hadn't stopped in until a few weeks ago. But when the temperature reached into the 90's the other week, I couldn't stand the thought of cooking anything so I walked down. The pulled pork sandwich was pretty tasty, the beans were overly sweet, but the cornbread was quite good. The selection of hot sauces is immense and the service is very good. Plus, it's really cute inside, clean and bright, which is different than a lot of other BBQ places i've been to. I'll be back!

One of my favorite bbq places in Seattle -- probably make it out here once a month.  Food is tasty (spicy chicken sandwich is my fav) and the servings are plentiful.  I'll admit that the menu isn't as broad as you'd expect of normal bbq joints but the stuff they do serve is pretty damn good.
Bonus:  Random, quirky sodas -- some even homemade.

Seeing as how I have spent most of my life in Califonia central coast, and the south... I have definitely had better BBQ. But for this area, it is VERY GOOD. I got the tri tip sandwich, with sweet potato fries. My boyfriend got the pulled pork sandwich with corn bread and the mac n cheese. The tri tip is not like how I am use to(ie Santa Maria Style BBQ in central California)  but it was tasty, with the garlic mayo and roll. The only complaint I have is the lack of meat, it wasn't very thick sliced and they give you only one slice. However, I have nothing bad to say about any of the other food... it was all very good. The Mac N Cheese was delicious, and the pulled pork was good. They have lots of sauces to choose from. The only thing I would say is if you like southern sweet tea, don't order it here. Its more like a mix of iced tea and lemonade, not my cup of tea!

The pork ribs are divine and the space is cuter than I thought it'd be. I don't know what I was expecting... that it'd be like most other BBQ shops I've been in (there hasn't been many)? Anywho, I rather liked the ambiance at RoRo with it's rustic kitsch and WB cartoons and I'll definitely be returning.

All entrees come with two sides or wedge fries. When I asked the lovely gal who HAS to be the owner (her twang is just too cute!) if the fries were good, she smiled and nonchalantly replied with, "Does a dog lick it's junk?! Hell yes, they're good." And there you have it, folks. I ordered the fries.

The meats were tasty, the sauces 'Rob's Reserve' were spicy and flavorful, and the food came out quickly. I plowed through half a rack of ribs (with a little help, mind you) before I said, "No More!" and got the rest to go.

One thing I really appreciated: Upon entering, they'll welcome you and ask if you've been in before. If yes, you proceed with your ordering. If no, they'll guide you on how to order, ie: sides, entrees, how many, what's the best?

Wet Naps along with the roll of paper towels on the table are a nice (and much needed) touch, as it will get messy. Just embrace the fact that you will come out of RoRo sated, happy, and slightly disheveled; ie: sauce in your hair and meat in your teeth, and you'll be a- okay in a BBQ way!

hmm.... i wasn't too crazy about my chicken because... well... i don't remember it.  It was okay, but not memorable.  the only thing i really remember about this place is the rowdy cowgirl.  the lady who owns it sure is rowdy y'all!  she's spunky and cool...and i'm sure it would have been more welcomed if.. you know, i wasn't in a sad mood because my bff 4eva was going to texas.

so i'll come here again and i promise to write a better review... unless, you know, they're not memorable again.

If you didn't know being a Texan is an honor and privilege but it isn't an easy task when you live in the Pacific Northwest. Because us Texan's need a constant supply of beer and BBQ to keep us sane.

But lucky for us fellow Texan's RoRo BBQ has us covered!! Because the pork ribs/steak fries and *BBQ Sundae(brisket) are amazing!! Add in the fact that they have some pretty good bottled beers on hand and you're set. They even have Lagunitas(king of beers) on hand and in my book that's just another added bOnUs!!!

And at your table you'll find 5 different BBQ sauces just waiting for you. I really enjoyed "Rob's Reserve" because it had a little kick to it! And as you know us Texan's love our food spicy!! So if you like BBQ and or you're from the south then you need to try this place out!! So RoRo BBQ you get this Texan endorsement!!

BBQ Sundae:
Your choice of Pork or Brisket in a to-go cup covered with BBQ beans and then covered with cole slaw and topped with pickles!

Sorry to inform you all, but this does not pass the "is it better than McDonald's" test.  Two stars is GENEROUS for this place.

Look, this place really tries.  They've got their actual barbecue smell, a variety of sauces, Americana kitsch, and in-your-face friendly service.   Unfortunately, the food doesn't cut it.

I had the ribs, which came with two sides.  The ribs were bland, reasonably tender, and FULL of fat.  Part of the point of barbecuing ribs is cooking them until the fat melts away and disperses into the meat.  The sides, beans and mac and cheese for me, were more like sample cups.  Decent flavors, but a little bland and not very special.

The significant other got the pork sandwich.  Dry, flavorless, and tiny, if I were to summarize it.

I'm sorry, but this is not good barbecue.  To anyone who rated this above 2-stars: have you never even had real barbecue?  I know we're not awash in the stuff around here, but at least try Jones barbecue for a sample of genuine barbecue (not saying it's the greatest, but it's authentic).

Lastly, I ate everything on my plate and left hungry.  How sad.
