Hello!!!

I just wanted to put a review down for my stylist Angie because she absolutely deserves one. She's so intelligent about hair coloring and gave me so much advice about changing my hair color. I'm an Asian male with short, virgin black hair and I wanted to go to silver. Angie got me done in one session and I'm so pleased with the color. She goes the extra mile for her work and is the sweetest hair stylist I've ever had. That being said, I'm going to regularly go to Angie for my hair coloring. Happy client here! I highly recommend!!!

Love, love, love how Fabian handles my hair! Just moved from Seattle and was worried about finding someone to keep my thick, slightly wavy and cowlicked hair looking sharp. I'm growing a pixie cut out into an asymmetrical bob. Lots could go wrong--Fabian makes sure it doesn't. He doesn't sugar-coat what's working and what's not, and he keeps me looking both professional and fun.

Oh, and the color! I have very dark brown hair, almost black. Fabian suggested some warm, caramely balayage that beautifully highlights the texture and movement of my hair without saying, "Look! Highlights!"

So glad I found Fabian and Roots!

Terrible scheduling & a super disorganized salon. That's 2 times got screwed over by them. No wonder they're closing.

If you have an appointment, be sure to call to triple check because you may show up to be told "I'm surprised no one called you.." and either your stylist is running late or that she works somewhere else.

I gave Jaimie the unenviable task of taming my long, fine, thick, unruly hair that hadn't been cut in over 6 months. She knocked it out of the park! Got me looking like Joan Jett meets Jennifer Anniston and I couldn't be happier. The staff at Roots are so nice, funny, professional, and beyond talented. Can't wait to go back. Thanks so much Jaimie!!

"Angie" was the hair dresser. Hair fell out. Awful experience. I was refunded and they tried to fix damage. Was too damaged to repair. I was left with 4 colors in hair that created a SWAMP color. I would not recommend . Too many qualified/better places in Houston to risk going to Roots. 5 min after posting this the owner of Roots called me and told me I was the kind of person that is never happy. And that me losing 6 inches of hair due to chemical burn and making my hair unable to fix and no real consistent color ... ((I look like a calico cat)) that I should be appreciative they refunded me and there is nothing more they can do and to stop asking. I will just have to wait a year to grow out. This place is "Sketchy"

Im half latina hardly racist. What I said is Angie needs to use deodorant if she wants to charge 350 for hair she smelled like a zoo the 3 times I saw her. No deodorant is not racist. Yes I did say I wanted to punch Angie in the mouth after she destroyed my beautiful hair but I didn't. And any woman after a chemical burn that took 6 inches and ruined all the curls in my hair and now impossible to fix and horrible color would feel the same. Will post some pictures soon so the public can see exactly what Roots is trying to defend. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE EVEN THE OWNER PROMOTES HORRIBLE WORK ETHIC.

Fabian Fabian with the fabulous hands that works so effortlessly. You have absolutely taken my hair to the next level. I want to congratulate you for becoming a new stylist at roots Montrose. I was pleasantly surprised by my cousins recommendation to come to this salon and have an experience that I'll never forget. My hair is absolutely beautiful I feel amazing I feel wonderful and with the new hair products that you Recommended, you have won me over. I am giving my hair products that you recommended a five star rating as well. Thank you for giving me an experience that Everywoman should feel after leaving the salon.

Lee is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to thin hair and bangs. She listened to me and knew exactly what I wanted. To look younger and to learn how to manage a fringe with thin hair (I'm 46). I highly recommend her! I'm sure she knows many other techniques with other types of hair and color. I will be back!! And Congrats to Lee becoming the sole owner of Roots!

Taylor is the best! Always get my hair done with her here and it's always perfect! Wether you need a quick cut, all over color, or even wedding hair and make-up, she's the girl to see. I love coming in to see what art they have up as well!

Taylor is a freaking hair wizard! I've been seeing her for years, and she always does an absolutely stunning job. I love that she takes the time to listen to what I want and then suggests ways to personalize it for my own hair. I highly, highly recommend her, she'll have you leave feeling like a supermodel!

I've been coming here over the years with a couple of different stylists. A few months ago, I decided to try someone new and I couldn't be happier! I explained to the receptionist my style and my hair and she paired me up with Sarah! OMG!! Sarah is AMAZING!! She listens to what my issues are and what I want and delivers the most amazing results!!

Last week I went in for a cut with Sarah and decided to take my little one (2 years old and hates getting her haircut), Taylor came by and made friends with her quickly!! So much so that she let her CUT HER HAIR!!!!

You guys, these two are the reason I will never go anywhere else!!
