No view, but the food is fantastic here. I've been here twice for lunch, and throughly enjoyed my pasta the first time and the club sandwich the second. With the sandwich also comes the best cole slaw I've tasted (almost beats KFC)! You can taste the freshness in all their dishes.

Really quaint little restaurant with great service. Mr. Rooney is often there to greet the customers - he is such a nice gentleman. There are seating inside and a couple tables outside. This is a perfect place for a nice brunch or lunch.

(One note about the parking lot for the restaurant: they only accept cash)

Rooneys has been serving good food with good service since my childhood. The small garden outback is particularly charming.

Forget about eating any place else in Tiburon, this place is amazing and worth the visit! They have the best curry chicken salad, fresh crab stacked salad, an adorable patio, and great service.

I don't love San Francisco. There are some things about it that I like- the chinese food, the quirky people, the park- but mostly I find it cold, crowded, and dirty. But just across the Golden Gate Bridge, in Marin County, I find very enjoyable. It's quiet, pretty, and sunny... just like I like my women :) kidding.

The town of Tiburon is gorgeous, the real estate here is SPECTACULAR, and this restaurant is quite good. Service is ok, I didn't feel it was horrible like some of the other yelpers. I ordered a ribeye because approaching the restaurant I could smell steak being grilled and it totally triggered me into wanting a steak. It was delicious, I don't think it was aged (my stomach can't handle aged steak) , and the sides were very good as well, some sort of curly fried potato side with stilton crumbles, garlic mashed potatoes,  and what I think was bokchoy. Sort of a strange combo, bokchoy and steak, but it worked.

The restaurant is small but comfortable. Be prepared to get some confused looks if you don't fit the demographic of  45+, affluent +, white, plays 20+ rounds of golf per year, subscribes to wine spectator, etc

After flying in around lunch time, a local recommended Rooney's to us. We sat outside for a late lunch around 2pm on a Thursday. I had the shrimp salad (at the waitress's recommendation) and my hubby had the reuben (which the woman we were staying with insisted would be the best reuben he'd ever had). Both sandwiches were good. After being on a plane for hours, I was very happy they kept my water glass full.

The only bummer was that they didn't have any high chairs, so our baby had to eat in her stroller, almost under the table (I think they did have booster seats, but she's not big enough yet).

AWFUL. AWFUL. AWFUL. AWFUL. AWFUL. AWFUL. AWFUL. SERVICE.

Seriously, appalling service. I understand that when you go to Fridays on Main Street and sit outside, you're not going to have a normal dining experience. But this was beyond mildly disappointing. 30 minutes into being seated we still had not had our DRINK orders taken. I used my napkin to balance out the wobbly table legs, and had to ask TWO PEOPLE, FOUR TIMES for a new napkin. There were two servers and one busser "taking care of" our table, yet none of them seemed the least bit interested in taking our order, or checking if we needed anything throughout the meal. The time between courses and finishing dessert to getting the check was INSANE. I have NEVER felt so neglected by a waitstaff. If I wasn't with my parents and their friend (who all love this place), I would have up and left long before our entrees arrived, with a complaint to the manager.

On a positive note, the food and the presentation was impressive, but that is not enough to keep me coming back or recommending Rooney's. Get it together!

On my last visit to Rooney's the food was absolutely EXQUISITE!

It was a Saturday night and they were extremely busy, but our table of five was served quickly and pleasantly. I can't imagine ever getting bad service here. The wait staff are all experienced and professional.  We were never made to feel rushed.  The staff was attentive without being overbearing.

It is a pleasure to live near here and know I can come down to Rooney's any time for a wonderful meal.  The back patio is intimate and quiet . . . . especially on a Friday night when the street is chaos with all the Friday Nights on Main crowd.

Update:  9/28/07  Had dinner again in Rooney's.  Fantastic once again.  Had the Crab Stack.  Yum.  Their quality & service continues to be excellent.

Just moved to Tiburon from SF a few weeks ago and we decided to give this restaurant a try.  First off the people are amazingly warm and friendly and the food is delicious.  I loved the Crab Stack and my boyfriend enjoyed is burger.  We also love that they allow dogs on their back patio, such a treat coming from the city where dogs were allowed everywhere.  .

Last Thursday, my wife and I walked downtown to Rooney's, a cute little cafe with quaint decor and good food.  My wife had a shrimp pasta dish which she cooed over, and I had an excellent Reuben sandwich.  Afterwards, plump and happy, we strolled along the sunny shoreline of the Town of Tiburon.  The view across the bay to San Francisco was magnificent, and our entire experience at lunch was delightful.

We are regulars here coming for lunch as often as twice a week, occasionally with  a client in tow. The menu underpromises and the food overdelivers. The salads are fantastic, and the sandwiches as good as it gets. Best corned beef, best pastrami this side of New York -- simply no competition in the entire Bay Area. Wait staff are devoted to the owner, and thus to you, too. A triumph of everyday perfectionism.

Rooney's has great food from a solid menu. The chefs here are absolutely amazing. The wait staff is really good and considering the crowds they manage at times (both in terms of size and attitude), this is no minor feat (even given the relatively small square footage they have to cover).

The decor is elegant and simple, the bathrooms are clean. I am especially fond of the outdoor patio in the back during the summers.

If you know someone in Bel/Tib you will likely encounter them here at some point.

Service is horrible here.   The back area is a total nightmare!  Why would I want to have lunch with 20 million flies buzzing around me?  The crab salad was delicious but everything else was so-so.  I would not come back because the service was so bad.  But I would definitely order the crab salad to go.

One of the best albacore tuna melts I've ever had. We were heading straight to Sam's, on the other side of the street (a suggestion from a friend) and after looking at prices we gave Rooney's a try. 100% satisfaction. The ambiance is somehow Parisienne.

A 94920 institution for the past 30+ years and the perfect place to have lunch with your mom. Great sandwiches- both hot and cold. Killer Reuben, fresh seafood, and a slow cooked roast beef sandwich to die for.

I've never had anything bad at Rooney's.  The Curry Chicken Fruit Salad is my favorite (not sure if that's the real name).    All the house Reuben and burgers are good too.  It's a little on the expensive side for lunch ($15 w/o drinks), but that's easily justified by the food.  At Sam's across the street you get less for more.

I have been to Rooney's a few times on our visits to Tiburon.  It has a nice relaxed atmosphere with simple, tasty food.  The same staff is there when we visit, so that has to be a good sign.  Make sure you try the crab cakes.  Also, there are always a number of tables with cute older couples having a leisurely lunch.
