Not bad food for not bad prices.  I was a little disappointed that the "squaw bread" wasn't actual squaw bread, but the food was good, simple and inexpensive.

Stopped in here yesterday for a Sunday breakfast.  Had the Bacon and Mushroom omlet, which wasn't all that great. They use that cheap institutional cheese, which is gooey and overpowers the bacon/mushroom flavors. Served with grits and wheat toast. I'm knocking this place down one star for their omlets, which wouldn't take that much to be better.

cute hostess though!

I enjoyed my breakfast at Ronnie's. Cheap, and tasty diner food. I had the Scrambler and it was delicious! The management was extremely friendly and shared with us a sample of Chile Verde which was the size of an additional meal. Will definitely go back to try lunch and more of the tasty breakfast options. It is in a weird little strip mall, on a busy corner in Culver City, but $20 for two people to eat breakfast is almost unheard of in the area... check it out.

Great diner food.  Had the club sandwich on wheat, haven't had one like that in a while.  Nice thick shakes.  Bf tried the steak sandwich thought it was so-so and wouldn't order it again.  Thought it should have had thicker steak, lettuce, and maybe a special sauce - but I'm willing to go back!

Whenever I am in town, I eat here with my LA friends for breakfast. The place has an outdoor patio and the staff is super friendly.  The food is yummy and service is quick. Can tend to get busy on the weekends, but not a long wait.

Major staple for me, used to live pretty close to this place.  Usually crowded, but very reliable.  Friendly service, you can tell it's a team environment.  I've had so many dishes off the menu and the only one that really was below par was the veggie burrito... kinda greasy.  But every breakfast dish I've had was very satisfying.

Great diner food, yummy diner breakfast, good price :)

You will usually find me here on Sundays (yes we are the annoying family who drive away waitpersons and the like) . . . i love this place because of the down-home atmosphere. . .  and they always treat us like family.  They do have decent food at very affordable prices which is why my family likes it.  (cheap peeps)
they make their own potato chips which are great, so order them instead of potatoes. . .

I recently had to go to Culver City for a figure/bodybuilding competition and found myself at Ronnies the following morning, based on all the favorable reviews. This place was GREAT! They have a little side menu for "bodybuilders" featuring egg whites, grain pancakes, etc. I have to say the pancakes were amazing! Whole grain, honey and walnuts...very fluffy and tasty. Service was great as well. The owner came over to say hello and we chatted for a while....so nice for an out of towner to feel so welcomed. He even sent me on my way with a chocolate chip cookie! check this place out folks, well worth your time!

With its varied menu, reasonable prices, and friendly staff, this cheery diner draws a large and lively lunch crowd on weekdays. The lunch menu boasts a hefty assortment of sandwiches, burritos, and salads, while the (smaller) dinner menu comprises about a dozen dishes spanning fish, chicken, and pasta, respectively.  There are several vegetarian options, but perhaps not enough to keep a frequent visitor interested.

True to the diner experience, most of Ronnie's menu items are the sort of fried dishes that Americans know and love, while upping the ante with grilled salmon salad, espresso shots, and San Pellegrino. Considering such offerings as the cucumber sandwich, pinto beans, buckwheat pancakes, brown rice, and egg white omelettes, Ronnie's seems to endeavor to include more healthful selections among its diner fare. Organic foods, however, are curiously absent, as are cage-free eggs. Some visitors may also be disappointed to find that this is one diner that lacks a dessert menu.

The service, the standard of food quality and variety, and the airy atmosphere place Ronnie's a cut above the average diner or family restaurant at a comparable price point. Try the rice, bean, and avocado burrito ($6.50 with two side dishes) or one of the numerous sandwich platters ($5.50 - $7.95).

So, this place looks like a total dive. Like, duct tape on the seats and everything. I have a feeling they use the same silverware they always have and some of the the customers have been there since day 1. The food, however, is great diner/dive fare. Totally tasty, totally affordable and totally fast. Ronnie's is a-ok with me. Parking is a snap, too, and all the servers are way nice. I wish it was in my hood so it could be my local dive.

This is a neighborhood diner, families (kids), old people and locals.  We mainly eat breakfast here and an occasional dinner so I will focus on what I know.  We eat on the week ends before 8:30 am, with a toddler, and the service is fast, friendly and helpful.  The owner told me that they get really busy around 10 and the food doesn't come out as quick. A diner with cappuccinos and lattes, the food is great for a good price and they'll accommodate all requests.  During the week they have great deals on kick ass breakfast burritos - great to go food.  Dinner - I discovered I am not a diner girl for dinner, I need to try more items but seafood isn't their specialty.  Decor - basic table and chairs/booths with large white ball lights and a couple of TVs with sports.  They just updated their booths and chairs so no more duct tape, the tables are clean and don't wobble too much.  Rene is super friendly waiter and the owners brother. They have high chairs for the kids.

Ok guys.  Maybe they were having an off day.  We went in, sat down and got served ten minutes later.  I got cold coffee in a cracked cup.  When they brought me more coffee, then I think they must have held the cup under the flow as it was just beginning to brew and it was way too strong, and subsequent cups were brackish!

Ten minutes later I got a stack of cold, dry pancakes and greasy sausage.  i will honor my own rules "Try the place thrice" and see if I have a better experience.  The extra star is because the wait staff seemed friendly enough, but I don't know...

When I lived in LA, summer 2005, I had lunch at Ronnie's EVERY day. Greek salad with grilled chicken. Healthiest, most reliable lunch meal ever. I'd kill for a consistently amazing salad like that in NYC.... sigh.

Mmm... you know I've been craving a grilled cheese sandwich for about 2 weeks now, right?  Well, after passing this diner for years, I remembered it today, looked on their website and wallahhhh... GRILLED CHEESE... $5.50.  On my drive there, I was salivating at the thought of that first bite... the melted cheddar cheese inside buttery-toasted bread... mmmm...

I sat alone in a booth and before the waiter even gave me the menu, I was like... "I already know what I want... "  He says, "And what would that be?"  Before I could think about it, I muttered...

"Tuna melt, please."

WHAT?  Huh?  You don't get it?  I don't get it either.

It was DELICIOUS and kinda hit the spot in a melted-cheese-toasted-bread- kinda way... just with added tuna which was light and fluffy!  It came with fries which were a little soggy, but I inhaled them anway - I prefer the shoestring kind but whatever... $6.50.

Totally a no-frills diner, with a huge fan to ventilate the place.  Service was good and the waiter made sure I was doing okay the whole time.  I'm always skeptical when dining alone because the waitstaff always forgets the lone diner... but this wasn't the case here.  The menu is HUGE... I'm talking 4 pages, with 11 point font.... yes, I printed that sh*t out for future reference.

Definitely my new lunch spot!

I eat at Ronnies almost every other day at work.

Try their turkey patty with eggs, as a turkey burger, or with a salad.  Because it's delicious.

You'll always find something you like, and once you get bored you'll start asking for new things, which they will somehow have.

Freaking love this place, and the people who work there are all nice.

There's nothing like having a neighborhood diner that you can walk to, and a great one to boot! I've been coming to Ronnie's for several years now and each time I dine there it always leaves me satisfied. Run by the man himself, this is a family run establishment with a great wait staff who make for a nice experience. It kind of makes me feel like Norm from Cheers whenever I walk in here, everybody knows your name.

I think I've pretty much tried everything on the menu from their breakfast, to the sandwiches, to the salads, to the dinners. Its all very good. Some personal favorites include: Cuban Sandwich, Fried Chicken Sandwich, Jalapeno Burger, Louisiana Royale, Steak Royale, Chicken Parmesan, Steak Sandwich, and the new favorite the Chorizo Bowl. That is the s**t right there! Chorizo, eggs, tortillas, potatoes, sour cream, guacamole, and cheese all thrown together in a bowl. Mix it up and you have a fiesta in your mouth, no doubt.

It took me a while to warm up to Ronnie's. There's nothing really remarkable about it at first, until you realize that their menu is basically without crappy food. Most diners I go to are a process of choosing something "less bad" for me. I'll figure out some sort of combination of eggs and meat and try to avoid ordering the huge, pillowy biscuit, or the complimentary cinnamon bun - or worse - the deadly combination of the two (damn you, Dolores!). But at Ronnie's, the whole menu is diner food made by an ex-bodybuilder health nut so the rice is brown, the beans are black, and vegetables are steamed and few things are fried. Give Ronnie's a whirl sometime when you're looking for an unpretentious, healthy meal served by nice folks just running a good joint. (With possibly the most uncomfortable bench seats.) About ten bucks per person.

I LOVE SUNDAYS!!!

Why?

1.  I get to sleep in.

2.  I don't have to go to work.

3.  I don't have to do my errands.

4.  I don't have to workout.

and the most beautiful thing...

5.  I get to have Sunday brunch!  Yay!

There are plenty of breakfast joints I frequent, but I recently added Ronnie's to that long list.

My boyfriend introduced me to this place a couple months ago upon waking up too late from a hard night of partying.  We didn't want to think too hard for a place to grub and feed our hangovers.  Thus, we opted for a brisk walk from his crib, which is a few blocks from Ronnie's.

My first breakfast meal was the SAUSAGE ROYALE.  It was good for what I needed...to soak up all the leftover alki in my system.  But rice is not my friend!  :*(  I might be Asian, but I can't seem to digest it properly.  They stay in my stomach for days and make me feel bloated like an air balloon...'cuz those lil' rascals expand in your stomach!  My second breakfast is the smackalicious CHORIZO BOWL (w/ sliced potatoes, a tortilla, 2 eggs, chopped green onions, cheese, & topped w/ chorizo).  I love this dish so much that I've ordered it for breakfast 3 days in a row!  Now what does that tell yah?  That is some mad love!  This dish is only on the "specials" board, but I'm crossing my fingers & have talked to Rene (the brother of Ronnie), that they put this delicious dish on the regular menu.  Oh please, please, please!!!  :D  I've also tried their pancakes & French toast...nnnnyeh! for taste, not somethin' to write home about.  Their kaaaawfeee is good, and the service...da best!!!

it's a great value for comfort food in mar vista/culver city. my wife loves their turkey burgers because the patty is tasty and alfalfa sprouts make her happy. they've got a nice selection of sandwiches/melts that i could have thought up myself. and since i'm a little lazy, i'm glad ronnie's is there to placate my slothfulness. my favorite melt so far is the florentine chicken.

anyway, they have solid preparation and ingredients at a decent price. whatever you imagine how the food tastes while you're reading the menu is probably what will be hitting your taste buds. i mean to say, the food doesn't disappoint.

I first went to Ronnie's when I worked in a nearby building. I had never heard anything about it even though I had lived so close to it for many years and driven by it countless times. From the initial look of it, there is nothing to be impressed about. Inside it's your standard fare of simple tables and booths with a TV set to sports hanging in each corner. The menu, however, is quite varied for a small establishment. The breakfasts are fresh and generously portioned. My favorite, however, is the turkey club w/ french fries (which are lightly sprinkled with chili seasoning). My buddy swears by their burritos and my wife is a fan of their breakfast specials. The prices are also extremely reasonable, averaging about $10 per person for lunch including drinks.

For the most part, service has been fantastic, with family members and Ronnie himself keeping tabs on each table's status. A few bad apples for servers here and there although I've never seen the same bad server twice in the 40-odd times eaten there.

The only request I have, and what kept this score from being perfect for a diner, is the lack of a breakfast menu for dinner. As a diner, I don't expect much in the way of decor, however I do expect a menu that doesn't change from meal to meal. Granted, Ronnie's is only open for dinner on Friday's and Saturday's (and eerily empty) however it's my assumption that breakfast is the staple meal of all diners, regardless of the hours they're open.

Probably the best BLTA (that's bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and avocado for those unfamiliar) I've ever had. It seems so simple but they're so easy to mess up and Ronnie's gets it spot on! This place is so great because the food is really good and well priced and that's all there is to it. Not much atmosphere to speak of, but in a way that IS the atmosphere. They're not open for dinner, just lunch and breakfast so if you're coming, come early.  A great brunch kind of a place for sure! If you're looking for a no-frills place with good, reasonably priced food - Ronnie's is definitely your place.

Conveniently located walking distance from my boyfriend's apartment, Ronnie's diner has quickly become our favorite breakfast eatery.  He prefers the chorizo and eggs burrito while I go for the artery clogging "Josie's Toasties" fried french toast stuffed with marmalade, sweet cheese, coated with syrup.  Prices are great, I rarely spend more than $12.00.  The menu has a lot of variety.  Ronnie's is a welcome respite from the vegan shabby chic wannabe diners on abbot kinney or main street (firehouse, axe).  Ronnie actually works there and he commended my boyfriend on his eating abilities after he polished off three burritos.

After living about 2 miles from Ronnie's for the past 5 years, today was the first day my husband and I stopped in for breakfast.  Our breakfast was great!!  I had the spinach and turkey sausage omelette with egg whites and my husband had the huevos rancheros and we both were highly satisfied with our meals.  The staff was very friendly and the most impressive thing was how fast our food was served. Ronnie's is our new place for breakfast. Oh and did I mention the prices are very resonable and the coffee is great!  Great experience all around!

This conveniently located local diner eaily located in an easy to reach strip mall off of the 90fwy just off of Culver blvd serves up friendly service and tasty meals.   The menu covers breakfast, lunch and dinner but I personally find myself going here mostly for my Saturday and/or Sunday breakfast with friends.  It's the perfect distance between my South Bay residence and all of my Westside buddies.

It's not like this place is just called "Ronnie's" for no reason.  Ronnie himself can be found working tables, the register, and even the grill if need be.  Other members of his family also round out the staff and the personal touch can be felt in everything from the warm greeting at the door to the hand drawn specials on the dry-erase board.  This place feels like the "Cheers" of  diners where everyone knows each other either by name or by face.

Now that I've covered the ambience, let's get down to the food.  It's yummy.  A creature of habit, I've settled on the breakfast burritos (both chorizo and bacon/egg) along with the home fried potatoes.  Sometimes when I'm feeling saucy I get the Chilaquiles which are usually a Sunday special.  There's an extensive healthy section which appeals to weightlifters and South Beach/Zone/Protien, etc...dieters.  Once upon a time I was really into the "Protein Plate" which helpled me slim down for my wedding.

I absolutely love Ronnies.  It's such a great local eatery.   Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a breakfast, lunch, dinner here whenever you find yourself near Marina Del Rey, Culver City,  Playa Del Rey or the  90Fwy.

For how good this place is, you'd never notice it if you just drove by.  I went there with my gf for the first time tonight.  She got the Friday fish and chips and I got a double cheeseburger combo with a soda and onion rings.  Mine should have been $8.50 but the server neglected to mention that onion rings did not count as a choice for a side for the combo.  So I paid closer to $10.  The burger was perfect.  It didn't explode everywhere when I picked it up but that didn't stop it from being amazingly delicious.  The meat was perfectly done and the ingredients inside tasted as fresh as they looked.
I haven't gotten a chance to try the onion rings that came on the side because the burger and coke filled me up so much but the batter on the outside looks of higher quality than your average onion ring.
The service was to the point but attentive and quick.  The inside of the restaurant is nothing to talk about.  I ended up spending most of my time between talking with my girlfriend and watching the news.
The menu looked really long and not a single one of the choices didn't appeal to me.  I REALLY WANT TO GO BACK and try the rest of the menu.  My gf's fish and chips were also very tasty.  The "chips" were nice and soft but not greasy and oily.
Overall, I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.  I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order.

Ronnie's Diner was just what we were looking for to satisfy a Sunday morning diner breakfast craving.  Good diners on the west side are too hard to come by, and Ronnie's doe the job with a great menu, great food, great prices and good service.
I got the breakfast burrito and grits and was very happy with both and the prices were very reasonable.  What really sealed the deal though was when Ronnie came by with our check afterwards and personally checked in to see how our meals were and really spent the time to get to know some new customers.  You can tell they're really goin the extra mile to provide a great, healthy, american-style restaurant experience at Ronnie's Diner.  We'll definitely be goin back.
