11 reviews for Ronin Autowerks BMW/MINI Cooper Repairs
So this is my 2nd visit to Ronin to bring in my Mini Cooper S. The service I received leads me to write this review, because it's well deserved.
Matt, the owner, gives the most upfront, friendly, and honest service. He is upfront because he gets straight to the point and explains everything completely. What you get quoted on is what you get. I saved a couple hundred dollars for bushings, tires, and an alighnment, versus what I was quoted from competitors. I am absolute that what I get quoted on elsewhere is not the final price.
Plus, the quality of his craftsmanship is expertise. He is very efficient and also works around your time. He will go above and beyond to make sure you are getting the most savings. This says a lot because European cars are the most expensive and complicated to service. A true example of customer service, I even got a thank you card in the mail for coming in. Thank YOU, Matt.
Also, check out his dog, TAZ!
Matt at Ronin is the best.
I don't entrust my car with too many mechanics and shops. Matt has solid BMW and car expertise as well as a friendly and honest nature. The guy is awesome.
He uses original BMW equipment and fluids or sometimes better stuff (Elf oil). He's a perfectionist who will get the job done right. Gotta love it...
Matt's done everything from a routine oil change on my 330ci to moonroof shade fixes. Each time, he does a great job and charges a fair amount.
I don't know about you, but I really value someone who's skilled and trustworthy. If you do too, Matt and Josh are for you.

I have taken both my Mini and Audi to them. Their prices are better than taking it to the dealership and the quality of the work is just as good or better.
The owner Matt is a really great guy and knows how to treat his customers.

I went with the recommendation of other Yelpers & gave these guys a shot. I guess it helped that I could see these guys from my backyard & never new they were there. They were reasonably priced for an OC auto shop & very nice. Mat there was cool. I felt good about having them take care of my car. Even though they claim to be BMW specialists, they took care of my crappy Explorer starter.
Thanks guys, i will be a repeat customer.
If anyone goes there let them know they owe you being there to Yelp.

Great service! I was really impressed with Ronin. Matt is a great guy and runs an honest business. My 2002 330ci has 95k miles, so it needed to get a few things replaced. I had my belts replaced, control arm bushings replaced, rear brake pads replaced and an alignment done. Matt did not advise to do any unnecessary work nor did he overcharge. I would definitely make an apt. because they are pretty busy. 5 stars! I will never take my car to BMW again. BMW dealerships are the worst!

Being female, I absolutely DREAD having to get work done on my car. I had a window regulator go out on my 2005 330i and I went to a shop by my work. (I live in Sacramento.) They fixed it but in the process, they dismantled my side air bag and didn't put it back together so none of my airbags worked.
I was really frustrated because I took it back the next day and they told me it wasn't their fault. Typical.
I had to come down to Fullerton and Ronin Autowerks was recommended by my friend who swears it is the best auto shop anywhere, ever. I brought my car in and they took care of fixing the airbags, and they also fixed the other window regulators that the first shop didn't repair correctly.
The service was so good, and they were so open and honest with me, I got my 60k service with them while still in town. My car has never driven better and I didn't have to worry about anything going wrong on the long drive back up North.
I will absolutely bring my car down to Ronin, even though they are 400 miles away because they know what they are doing. They also have great custmer service and really fair pricing. The owner was really nice and personally went over my car's issues. I felt like I was at the Nordstrom for BMWs!
Highly recommended. Excellent independently owned business. Thanks!

WOW!!!
I needed my brakes done on my car sooooOOo bad, and I found Matt's shop here on YELP! They did not disappoint! They were able to get my car in, brakes done, and a few other miscellaneous problems done that same day. The best service I have ever encountered from and auto shop. To top it all off, I received a hand written card from Matt in the mail a week later, thanking me for my business. Truly a good shop, and a better owner!

I took my girlfriend's BMW 325ci here to get a thermostat housing change and a oil change and let me tell you... I was skeptical because being a former mechanic..i didn't want to get rip off..(i don't have a garage to work on cars anymore) so i ask questions and they were fine with it...the service is awesome..and the price is fair...even though Matt the owner wasn't there..Josh took care of everything..he even gave me a break on the price..awsome service..and Chino the pitbull was cool too...oh i even recieved a card from them in the mail..with a picture of Chino..how cool is that...

Matt at Ronin has been taking care of my 330i giving it all the attention it needs. He is really knowledgeable about bmws and is always willing to accommodate your schedule, he'll even wait till you get off work! And while you are there, you should check out his m6 or go to the skatepark next door!
Just a quick list of work he has done, level2 service, changed the coil, changed all 4 brakes, replaced the radiator, countless oil changes, etc. I think this would have cost a ton of money at the BMW st-ealership. So this is my praise for all the good work he has done!

Matt the owner knows his stuff. He was throwing knowledge bombs left and right. I had some performance parts installed at his shop. I feel comfortable and secure when I have work performed on my Z4 here. I have read all the reviews on here and no one has mentioned anything about Matts other employees. They are really cool as well. When Matt isnt there the other guys are very helpful when I cruise by or call in with questions.
I am definatley taking my car back for whatever service my Z4 needs!
I own a '99 Z-3 Roadster. I live in N. California and drove down for a family emergency. On the way I had a whacky EML & ASC light problem combined with a severe lack of power. The car was effectively un-drivable. In a pinch (away from my regular mechanic at home) I luckily found Matt at Ronin. This was right before a holiday weekend and he got me right in, properly diagnosed the problem (a mucked up throttle box) and merely cleaned it (rather than gouging me for a new one). Matt is knowledgeable, personable and on the up and up. He is what a mechanic should be and Ronin is what a shop should be. I wish I could have Ronin as my regular shop at home.
