1 review for Rong Cheng Chinese Restaurant
I was reluctant to review this place because it is kind of a secret! In fact maybe I should just not say anything....forget you saw this review! Go play around on Google or something!
Oh....alright...I guess you twisted my arm.
This place is great! A wonderful "locals" place.
Decor: old, but functional. Red booths (about 4). 3-4 tables. Small, but those who know it like it that way.
Music: this is the best part! If you love old Michael Jackson (like from a cassette tape), then you will love this place. My girlfriend has been going here for 5+ years and this is the only tape the older lady who works there plays! "ABC...easy as 123!" All the classics! She only owns 1 cassette tape, and that is what you hear time and time again....
Now for the good stuff...but wait....maybe I should keep it a secret??? Do you really deserve to go and have some good food? Maybe a test will help..Answer this question and see if you really should go here.
Question 1. Do you like overpriced, chain rest food in a "cool" atmosphere, or do you like good food and good company (like your friends or mom or dog)?
....if you like good food and your friends, then this is your place!
.....if you answered the first one, then go to Pf Changs...they will serve you crap, AND over charge you. (but hey, they have cool statues out front!!)
Menu: Not gonna say to much. About 150 items (typical China food). I usually have Kung Pao Chicken, and it is always good. Their rice is the best I have ever had (and I have lived in Asian countries). I think it is a short grain rice, and always nice and buttery (if that makes sense???). Either way, the fried rice is wonderful, as is how they cut the vegetables. I never like places that have real big slices of onion, pepper, etc. If you like an onion sliced in half and green pepper in 3 slices, then look somewhere else. I love vegetables sliced small and proportined to the meat....and they do it great there!
This place does a lot of take out, and the lady who works there (Jun??) is nice, but hard to understand sometimes. Either way, this is a great place..small, quiet...sits next to King Soopers. But if you were born with a sliver spoon in your mouth go somewhere else. But if you like food and a quiet small atmosphere...this is it!
YUM...
Now forget you ever hear of this......look directly in the light and dont blink,....
What were we talking about??? I forgot.....
(ps....I really don't care what other reviewers will say about this place...I LOVE it and will go there till I die...or they close...or I move...)
5+ for food! and its cheap! That is the BEST part about it.....specially in this tuff economy..
