I've been taking lessons from him for something like two years now, and he's been such a great mentor. He gives you a well-rounded concept of music, and because of his immense experience (played with Frank Sinatra for eight years, and George Shearing) there's basically no question you can't ask him that he won't have an answer for. He also continually makes changes to the lesson to challenge you to grow as a musician, at least from my experience with him :)

Even if you don't plan to focus on jazz when either playing for your own enjoyment or in your music career, Ron Anthony's lesson plans provide a strong base for you to work off of to become a solid guitar player.

The best guitar teacher around hands down. Ron Anthony used to play for Frank Sinatra and George Shearing. He also taught guitarist Ron Affif. Both of them also played with Joe Negri. He has a lot of knowledge to share, lots of stories and lots of patience. He teaches at Pierce College but also provides private lessons in his Burbank studio.
