HOLY CANNOLI!   (Yep, I said it).

I drove all the way out here for a major Spumoni craving (given most places don't serve it). I didn't plan on eating cannoli's due to my ice cream craving, but decided to accompany it with my Spumoni. Results: Deeeeelicious!

The scoop of yummy Spumoni hit the spot. You can't go wrong with the scoop or the cake wedge of it. They have bins to take it home with you as well. The fresh homemade cannolis were very tasty, light, and not too sweet (which I loved, as I'm not a fan of extremely sweet desserts). They even have ice cream filled cannolis!

Everyone working there is extremely nice and cheery. The atmosphere feels very much like a mom & pop dessert/ ice cream parlor. Best of all, I love peeping through the glass while they fill my cannoli!

My only wish is that they were open later! Although maybe it's a good thing because I'd find myself there too often.

Friday afternoon, we were in the area for a meeting and decided to drop by.  A couple of people were ahead of us, so we checked out their orders.  One person got a drink called an Espresso Freeze - it looked yummy, like an icy coffee shake.   Another customer ordered a few cannolis...I liked the fact that the cannolis were filled right there behind the counter.

Finally, we placed our order for one chocolate cannoli with chocolate chips and one regular cannoli with cherries.  Both were filled and boxed up in no time.  When we got home we opened the box and while the cannolis looked and tasted fresh and yummy, we were a little disappointed that they were smaller than expected. Don't get me wrong, these cannolis were crunchy with a smooth creamy filling, but the shells were a little on the skinny side with flared open ends.......  Not sure if they're worth the $3+ price.

The place itself was clean and inviting.  Definitely a popular neighborhood spot.  Service was efficient and friendly.

Thanks, Yelpers, for giving me the directions to this superb little ice cream shop, just off El Camino Real. We went for cannoli (the ice cream filled) but also got a milkshake to go. Had good cappucino and chocolate cone while waiting. The espresso is nice and strong and the chocolate is real.

Charming little store that looks like it hasn't changed since the 60s when it opened. Good service. My only complaint would be the very limited selection of ice creams. Don't go expecting 31 flavors. But the quality makes up for that.

I had never tried cannoli before and did not even know what it is, until yesterday. I followed my fellow Yelper friend's reviews and came here. One taste and I am a fan!

I had the cannoli with the shell dipped in chocolate and pistachio topping. The inside filling is slightly sweetened, creamy ricotta cheese. My friend had one with the same shell with chocolate chip topping and ice cream filling. We both ordered a cappuccino to go with the cannoli. You can take the cannolis to go too but we could not wait to eat it, so sat there at one of the tables there and enjoyed it.

It was a delightful experience chowing down their freshly prepared cannoli, with the crispy shell outside and the soft creamy inside. The cappuccino went perfectly with this dessert and no sugar is needed for the coffee either!

The shell was baked  the same day and it only lasts for 4 hours so it's best to serve right away. Best of all it is only very slightly sweetened so you don't feel the sugar rush to your head after eating it. Be cautious as you will be tempted to eat another one, and another one, and another one as it feels like very light dessert. In reality it is probably not. But I am not going to count calories on this one.

The place was busy on this Christmas Eve day. Everyone else came in and bought at least a box of cannolis to go home with. I can see why. At $3.50 each it is not a cheap eat. It is definitely something special to treat to your special ones!

I bought two more cannoli ice cream to give to my friend. When I got home though, I could not help but eat one more. It looks like the other one is not going to last till I see my friend next week!

    Cannoli's MMmm....
I was trying to find cannolis for my mans father whos from Brooklyn, NY. He's always talking about how he misses great east coast cannoli's. So when i ran accross this place, we had to try. The cream is so fresh and sweet, I love the chocolate chip cannoli. We bought a few. Then later we bought their kits to bring over for Thanksgiving, it was a hit! The family loved them. They provide you will the shells, powedered sugar, cream, toppings, the works,, you take it all home and construct the cannoli yourself. So there you go fun for the family and tastes good too!! MMmm...

W-O-W!!! To start off, all I can say is...well actually I'm absolutely speechless. I had initially intended to surprise my friend for his birthday and take him here, and we fell in love with the place. We each intended to get one or two cannolis. We ended up eating a total of 15 Cannolis and our only regret was that we didn't have enough money for more. extremely friendly service and OUTSTANDING desserts. And as an honorable mention, they have great espresso to boot. All around great establishment for everyone, 420/5

WOW, YELP!! seriously.. you never fail and disappoint!

Romolo's has long been on my bookmark, I'm certainly glad that I did finally decide to go try their famous cannoli!!

It was my first cannoli experience and boy, certainly a love at a first bite!!

I got the traditional cannoli with pistachio. The verdict: DELICIOUS!!! The shell was crunchy, the cream filling was not overly sweet and smooth. Every bite felt like heaven to me!

I was really really really tempted to get another one and ate it on the spot, but I was running out of time (meeting some folks in San Bruno to go to the Dickens Fair in SF)..so I embraced myself and ordered TWO more cannolies to-go LOL!!! Got one chocolate dipped shell with pistachio and traditional with chocolate chip.

The price is a tad steep for just one piece but totally WORTH IT!!!

I also got a single shot latte to go...total for 3 cannolies and latte was $13.

The service was also extremely friendly and FAST! She complemented how I "ordered like a PRO" despite me being a first-timer (well, I did my homework and studied it on YELP before hand LOL!)

BTW, traditional shell cannolies (filled with cream) last for about 4 hours before the shells got soggy, and the chocolate dipped shells (filled) will last 8 hours according to the server :). They sell cannoli kits (you fill them by yourself) but you have to get at least 6.

I can't wait to go back for more cannolies and would love to try their spumoni too!!

I had a groupon for this place and had to use it, so we went on the last day that it was good, to redeem it. I decided to get a bunch to bring to share with friends, so I used my groupon to get 6 of them. They looked so delicious, so I ate one before I could share with anyone :) After meeting up with friends, I had no more cannolis, so I guess they were good. I wish we lived closer to this place, so that I could go there all the time. They had plenty of other treats that looked delicious as well, so hopefully I'll be able to go back and try them all someday. The cannolis were really good. I really liked them.

I've been wanting to try this place, but I usually drive by early in the morning when they are closed.  Today I stopped in for  a coffee.  The grandson of the owners was working (I didn't get his name).  He was very helpful.  Since I wanted the Cannolis for dessert later that evening, he suggested I bring home the cannoli kit which includes 6 shells, a pastry bag full of cream, and the toppings.  There was more than enough filling and toppings and it was a really fun dessert to make with the kids after dinner.

    My first cannoli ever!

This place is amazing. I've tried the chocolate chip cream filled cannoli and the butter brickle ice cream filled cannoli.

OMG you guys have to try the vanilla ice cream with butter brickle! It is heaven in your mouth. The cream they put in their non ice cream cannoli is fresh.

There is plenty of parking, the store is clean, the workers are friendly, and everything is yummy!

My dad is mostly off sweets, but leading up to his birthday I asked if I could bring a special dessert. He was being good and said "no." When I mentioned it would be cannolis from a special place that makes them from scratch, he changed his mind. My native New Yorker dad cheated on his diet for Romolo's, and he felt it was totally worth it. These are the real deal.

I bought a variety pack for his birthday, and by far the most popular cannolis were the chocolate chip variety in the chocolate dipped shells. Now I don't bother with any other types.

I haven't tried much more here than the cannolis, but I did sample a few flavors of their unusual homemade ice cream.  It was divine.

    What have they got?

    * Ricotta cream cannoli
    * Ice cream cannoli
    * Spumoni - Their most popular ice cream flavor. Pistachio, fig, almond, berries and more combined. I tried it - YES! They are not screwing around.
    * Ice cream and sorbetto - They make their ice cream on site using natural ingredients. Flavors may include spumoni, tiramisu, chocolate, vanilla bean, mocha almond fudge, mint chip, butter brickle, pumpkin, sea salt ripple, pistachio, banana and more. Raspberry, orange, lemon, pineapple, pomegranate sorbets and granita.
    * Tiramisu
    * Tartufo - Italian ice cream truffle.
    * Frozen Banana - A frozen banana dipped in chocolate.
    * Amaretti - Round almond paste cookies, crunchy outside, soft inside.
    * Cucidati - Rolled sugar cookies with filling made of fig, date, almond and chocolate.

    Tips:

    * If you can't get to Romolo's when they're open, they have an arrangement with the Buon Appetito Italian Pizzeria next door. Have some delicious dinner at Buon Appetito first and then enjoy your pre-ordered Romolo's dessert which will be waiting for you. I love this symbiotic business relationship. Genius!

    * The young owner is hot, so ladies, just a heads up. I know - married, but not blind.

Romolo's is one of those businesses that you want to love, minus the caloric implications, for being a unique mom and pop institution that has been satisfying epicurean dessert cravings since 1968. I do love it, and hope it will be around forever.

I don't give 5 stars often, but this place is a treasure.

So far I've tried their pistachio and chocolate chip flavors.  Both were divine.  The shell is light and super flaky.  The ricotta has the right amount of sweetness.  These are also pretty large so it's a good value.

Give them a try!  Especially since it's a mom and pop joint and I love those.

Yummy! The cannoli here is so amazing and fresh. One of the workers gave us his recommendations on which cannoli to go with and gave us a little history on the cannoli. Then he showed us how they're made. The ricotta filled cannoli with pistachios is the most traditional one so I went with that. Sooo good. I've had the frozen ice cream cannoli before too and that was pretty good.

I like the ice cream cannolis more than the regular cannolis.

    1) I love ice cream! 2) The regular cannoli's inside is too creamy and soft for my liking. 3) Try both to decide for yourself!

Loved the service. The girl behind the counter was very open to answer questions and was super informing. I also love how you can stand behind the glass and watch them fill your cannoli.

I'd like to give this place a 5 star, but I have never had a cannoli in my life, this being the first.

I got the chocolate dipped, chocolate chip cannoli, unfortunately they were out of the cherry.  It was so good that when I picked up my phone, my friend had gobbled down his cannoli instead of savoring it...sheesh.  I made sure to share with my shirt since I'm a messy eater.

    Service: Friendly and quick
Parking: Street parking, but area seemed quiet and a little dead so parking was not a problem.
Price: Pretty reasonable for one cannoli each.

There were plenty of other items I want to try next time that's on the menu, in particular the drinks and the affogado.

Not having ever had Cannoli before I don't have anything to compare to but as a first time experience Romolo's are pretty tasty!
The shell is crisp and flaky (which I think works better with the chocolate dipped) and filling smooth, creamy and not overly sweet... adding your chosen topping makes the flavour combination complete. Yummy in my tummy... and fingers... Yup, they're messy.

I had a Groupon for either 6 Cannoli or a Kit (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) where you can make your own. As it was just for me and hubby I went for the kit so we could make them when we wanted to save them going soggy, plus it was fun! (don't they look good?: http://www.yelp.com/us...)

I dropped by the store on Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy, I noticed 2 other people ahead of me who also had the Groupon deal too which I guess were picking up their goodies before the coupon expired in 10 days. Staff were really quick and efficient.

While I was waiting to be served it gave me a few minutes to check out the cabinets in the store which were stocked with Ice Cream, Spumoni, Tartufo and even chocolate dipped frozen Banana's (yum!).

When it came to ordering I was expecting to be asked what topping I would like with my kit (pistachio, Cherry or Chocolate) as the people ahead of me were asked but I was pleased to see the male server putting a bit of everything in the box. Just as well as there was no way i could decide.

I highly recommend the kit if you want multiple but are not likely to eat them all at once. Kit contains:

    6 Cannoli shells (I got 3 Chocolate dipped & 3 plain)
Huge bag of Ricotta filling which even had chocolate chips in
3 bags with toppings (Cherry's Chocolate Chips & crushed Pistachio's,)
    Powdered sugar

I definitely want to return to try the Tartufo & Spumoni because they look sooooo good.

Go to Romolo's if you're looking for a treat on a stressful day. Romolo's menu consists of an array of coffee, ice cream, and CANNOLI options. You can expect to pay $3.25-$3.75/cannoli since there is a more expensive chocolate shell.

I'm glad we happened to chance upon it after a hard day's work  'cause boy oh boy you can't ever make me sing praises about something so phallic unless its at the end of the day! I highly suggest getting the ricotta cannoli with the chocolate shell and pistachio topping. It's classic and delightful! Now try it for yourselves. It's a little messy to eat since the shell is crunchy and flaky so don't take it to go in the car eat it fresh in the "factory"--there's some seating.

Con: service was a liiiittle bit too slow for my taste. There was only one girl in front of us but it took over 10 minutes to get served.  I don't think the girl behind the counter had to be so chatty with the manager and customer when other customers (moi) were waiting. But minor detail. I'll go again fosho!

Romolo's cannoli are the best! And always filled to order, so the shells remain crisp. That's proper cannoli. They've been in business for over 40 yrs. now. http://media4.px.yelpc... It's been a long time since my aunt first brought me here years ago. The simple decor is old fashioned. Somehow it feels peaceful and pleasant as soon as u step inside. http://media1.px.yelpc...

My favorites are the cannolo topped w/pistachios & an ice cream cannolo, this time topped w/butter brickle ($3.25 each).http://media2.ct.yelpc... And on sunny days I'd get a spumoni wedge ($3). http://media4.px.yelpc...

The menu includes ice cream by the scoop ($2.75-$4.50), and pre-packed containers - pint ($5.50), quart ($8.50), and half gallon ($11); many coffee drinks and other desserts. Service is friendly and helpful.

They close so early! Thats my only complaint.

Only positives from here on out.

Decent prices. Efficient menu. They even offer seating.

But yes. The cannoli's steal the show.

Chocolate dipped shell. Half filled with chocolate chips on one end for me. The other end with pistachio for the GF.

That thing disappeared so fast, it was like magic.

Maybe we should of gotten one each instead of sharing.

The first time I tried this place, I had the standard cannoli with ricotta and pistachios.  The ricotta is so light and perfectly complimented with the crispy cannoli and pistachios.  I was honestly in heaven.

The second time, I brought my sister to try the place, but it just wasn't as good for some reason.  I think it's just hard to live up to my amazing first experience.

I had my first cannoli here and all other I've tried after weren't as good as here.

The shell was not oily and has just the right crispiness. The filling is not too light and not too creamy which perfect complement to the shell.

Sugar powder and chocolate dip are distractions. Skip them. Pistachio as garnish.

I don't care about the other things they have here, except tiramisu. Unfortunately, they don't have it all the time.

CED: WHAT!! My first time trying a cannoli?! Godamn where have I been all my life!? Right after brunch, gf and I decided to catch some desserts around the area... Saw this place and decided to get some. Entered and didnt truly know what to order so we tried the traditional pistachio cannoli and the ice cream cannoli. WHAT!!! Helllallalala ggoooooddddd. Gf and I beasted on the cannolis after the first bite of trying it...BEAST!!!! I recommend this place hands down...

ANN: HOLY CANNOLI! these are amazing!!! the shell on these cannoli's are so crisp and flaky and the fillings on them just melts in your mouth! WOW! they made their cannoli's perfectly! TIP: make sure to grab a few tissues. it can get pretty messy eating them, especially when you're sitting down and eating in a car. .the powdered sugar can get all over your pants. although these babies are yummy they are kind of on the pricey side. i'm not sure how cannoli's regularly cost because this is my first time buying cannoli's but damn 3.25 for a regular cannoli and 3.75 for ice cream cannoli? is a bit much if you ask me. well, i guess it doesn't matter since they are worth the price. =)

Finally after hearing all the hype & seeing Romolo's everytime I'd go to get my hair & eyebrows done at Picasso...I finally tried some cannolis on Sunday!  Thanks Romolo's for teaming up with Groupon.  I got 6 cannolis for $10.

The guy helping me was super friendly and helpful.  This was our first time trying cannolis.  They were so yummy with it's crispy cannoli shells and creamy smooth ricotta filling.  We got a mix of the chocolate and regular shells with the chocolate chip and pistachio fillings.  Bf and I ate the majority of them and gave a couple away.  We didn't want to fill the cannolis ourselves so we opted for the 6 instead of the kit.  Remember, you must eat them within 5 hours.

We may be back to indulge in one in the future or just to satisfy our sweet tooth with their other goodies.

The restaurant looked like it could use a remodel.
As for the young man who helped me, he was nice.
I had the chocolate dipped with pistachio.
I enjoyed it, but it didn't really wow me.
I think I was biased because of the reviews I read on Yelp.
I was expecting something orgasmic in my mouth.
    That didn't happen.

I used to make cannolis myself at an Italian restaurant I worked at in Washington and those were better.

    Ugh.

My search for the world's most delicious cannoli continues...

I don't think I'm a cannoli type of girl.  I know it shocks me too!  And I'm never one to turn down a good dessert.  So I'm a bit disappointed.  Well not really but you just won't find me craving cannolis anytime soon...or ever.

We ordered 3 chocolate-dipped cannolis: 2 with chocolate chips and 1 with pistachios.  These were a good size and a lot bigger than I've seen at other places.  I have the pistachio cannoli and at first bite I'm in heaven.  But the second bite, not so much.  I think the saltiness of the pistachios on the end that I bit helped cut through the sweetness I was now tasting.  Maybe it was the chocolate?  Maybe it was the ricotta filling?  There was something about the richness of the cannoli shell that reminded me of a cake donut.  It was good but just too much for me.  I was confused.  The third bite was the same with the sweetness.  So much that I couldn't take another bite.  What happened?  Maybe I was foo full from lunch that I just didn't need anymore food in my stomach?  I was looking for reasons why I wasn't feelin' the cannoli.  But really it was just too sweet for me and too much to handle.

IF I do come back for another taste, I might go a little lighter and get a regular shell and say nay to chocolate chips, pistachio and even the cherry.  And if I like it I'll work my way up from there.

    The food:
The cannolis were good, but I wish they have more than one flavor. They are made to order so the shells are always crispy. I love the chocolate and pistachio but not the so much the cherry, they are just your ordinary birthday cake cherry. The ricotta cheese filling was so very good, creamy and not too sweet. The ice cream cannoli was good too, but it's just kind of like eating a vanilla ice cream cone.

    The service:
The girl behind the counter was helpful and friendly. She recommended that we get the kit instead of buying more than we can eat in one night because the cannolis will start to get soggy after 5-7 hours. Man, she was NOT KIDDING about that. Due to my laziness and the fact that 2 people can only eat so much, we had half of what we bought left over, and ended up tossing one away because the shell was so soggy it broke when I lift it up with a fork, and the filling hardened a little and let me tell you, it was bad.

So word of advice: don't ever leave your cannolis overnight. Ever.

Like my friend always says... "yumboooooo!" I took my friends and sister to this place and they keep asking to come back. Unfortunately, they only have limited hours but I guess it makes it more special the next time you come.
I had their spumoni first and it was delicious! The piece was in a perfect triangle piece with the 3 different layers that melted in my mouth as I watched the sunset. The best part was that it was not overpowering or extra sugary.
The cannoli.. O.M.G. amazing!!! It was so rich yet so decadent at the same time! I tried the one with chocolate chip and pistachio and loved both. The cream was to die for and the shell was a perfect crisp. I shared one but it's no doubt that I can finish one myself!
What's great about this place is that you get to watch them make it and you can tell that it's fresh once your order it. Will definitely come back again and again!!!

First, I'd like to make a shout out to the girl with pink nails and feathers in her hair that served us: YOU ARE AWESOME.

She was really nice and helpful.

I came to try the spumoni because I have been meaning to try their spumoni for the longest time but kept forgetting to make my way over (1st world thing, I know).

If you like a multi-flavored ice cream experience, with little raisins, then you'll probably enjoy a plop of spumoni. It's really good here, obviously, but it's not for everyone.

I tried the tiramisu ice cream before choosing my final flavor and I wish I had gone with tiramisu. Again, the spumoni was good but the tiramisu tasted better than any tiramisu cake I've ever had. It was sugary but not overly sweet and it had that rich, deep cocoa liquor flavor.

I also got an iced latte which was also very good (sometimes you can't count on a place being good at two things).

Support local small business and get yourself a scoop of Romolo's!

Romolo's cannoli was listed in ..... as an item to eat.(before i die?).

    sampling:
    -cannoli with ice cream(3.25)
pretty good. velvety ice cream, crunchy shell.
-cannoli with ricotta (cream) in crunchy shell (3.25)
dusted with powdered sugar, ends  dipped into roasted pistachio chips.
nice creamy taste, crunchy shell had a peculiar taste. frying oil related?
    not sure.

    foodnotes:
-associates very helpful, friendly, and courteous in advising whch cannoli to try.
-cannolis made to order save for the premade ice cream ones.
*ice cream, vanilla bean, homemade: creamy, clean taste, no aftertaste whatever.
-cannolis can be habit forming and fattening....
    -recent groupon? offering.

    I am in love.

Tried the ice cream cannoli, the spumoni ice cream and the original cannoli with pistachios.  There were all awesome.  The next time I have a sweet tooth craving, I am coming here!
