I recently purchased a deal from http://bloomspot.com for a Keratain treatment with Antoneill at Romi Cortier Salon. The instructions were to call her directly to schedule an appointment, which I did. I left a message and she returned my call within about 30 minutes. She is definitely not the friendliest person on the phone, but she was flexible with her appointment schedule.
Like most places in LA, there wasn't a parking lot, only metered parking. The salon is small, but cute and looks like a house turned into a salon. When I first walked in, there wasn't a receptionist, however, a guy(seemed like the owner) doing hair walked up the front and asked me who I was there to see. Minutes later I was greeted by Antoneill. Her cold demeanor on the phone, definitely matched when I met her. She briefly talked about the procedure for the treatment, and then she started her work. I was taken back that she didn't offer any water, or magazines, as you would expect from most salons. Well, at least all of the salons I have been to ask. She wasn't very talkative, and she even noted that she's not very talkative today. This stemmed from me asking questions about her and the salon. She then proceeded to bring me some magazines, which was great, since I didn't want to sit there staring at the wall for a 2 hour procedure. The treatment took an hour and a half, which was great, because I honestly couldn't sit there more than I had to already.
The treatment worked well, and I saw an immediate difference in my hair, as well as after I washed it 3 days later. The trying time is cut in half, and the frizz is definitely gone. I'm satisfied with the results, however I won't be going back to get it done with Antoneill. If I'm going to spend 2 hours with a stylist, I want her to be a little bit more friendly and easy going. -

The real Shear Genius is EJ Alejo. He works extreme magic. I can go in looking super crappy in a bad mood and after he's done my mood is fantastic and wanting to go out there and have some fun. He turns me into a super Glam girl. Sometimes when he's done with my hair, I do a double take to see if that's really me. My face lights up, smiles all over and always satisfied. I'm so addicted to his haircuts and styling, I will not let ANYONE else touch my hair.
I've been complimented soooooooo many times throughout the years. People always ask who did my hair when I'm out and once they go to him they WILL NOT go to anyone else.
He can work with ANY HAIR! BELIEVE it! He's also excellent with extensions. Not excellent, INDESCRIBABLE!
He is definitely a people person and always make time to fit you into his intense busy schedule.
If you want to look fabulous EJ Alejo is the man! -

I see Marylin and I love her, she's great to me, listening to me and to what I would like. Leaving the salon I feel sexy and happy. It's not cheap but not as expensive as other less good places. Parking is not the greatest but you can walk a block to get to the place.

EJ Alejo.... my best friend's cousin and has been our friend since we first met him a few years back.... extremely talented artist/designer/stylist/etc when it comes to hair. My best friend told my wife, when you meet EJ, just let him do whatever he wants with your hair and you'll understand why he's so good at what he does. My wife is EXTREMELY picky so for her to just say that to a stylist is a BIG deal. Sure enough, she let EJ work his magic and she came out looking amazing and feeling like a million bucks! We even flew him up for our wedding last year...thats how much my wife likes him!!!!
If you want EJ to work his magic on you, make sure you contact him as early as possible because he usually has appointments daily and is always booked up 247!

Put simply: EJ Alejo is a miracle worker. I started seeing him over two years ago, and the difference in my hair is literally night and day.
I have naturally curly, dry, frizzy hair -- that at the time was overprocessed after seeing a stylist who used color techniques that were too harsh for my type of hair. I was in the market for a new stylist, and tried him on the recommendation of a friend. Let me tell you ladies -- I have never once looked back! My hair has looked amazing from my very first visit, and he has actually brought my damaged hair back to life! I joke with my girlfriends that his tagline should be "From Trolls to Barbies," because that's how great the transformation has been.
The best thing about EJ is that he really knows his stuff. He was able to recommend products to help save my hair, and has also taught me how to maintain my style at home. Two years later - I get compliments on my hair everywhere I go - no exaggeration. I know how to get it salon straight at home, and I also know how to get a 5 minute style using my natural texture.
He can work with all hair types (bone straight to naturally curly), and is very efficient --- no more spending 3-4 hours in a salon due to a slow stylist! I know this because so many of my girlfriends now go to EJ becuase they've seen the difference he can make.
He's done everything from fashion shows to celebrity hair, and still has time to make me look amazing at a very affordable price. If you're in the market for a new stylist -- look no further because you've literally found the holy grail of hair. -

I love this place. Professional and friendly. Hip but home-like. Trendy but not snobby. I get my hair cut/styled by Antonielle who has a fantastic eye and impeccable style. Also brought my wife to Antonielle for an amazing makeover that she LOVED. The perfect gift. Highly recommend.

Back to see EJ twice since and he won't even trim my hair because I'm trying to grow it out. Glad I listened because his cuts grow out very nicely. My mom complimented me on my haircut 3 months later and keeps asking who did it. So, I've been trying to do my color when I get the chance. No cheap date but he's worth it.

I went into Romi Cortier hoping to walk out with my totally destroyed hair (thanks to my own dye job) somewhat fixed.. Didn't have much hope :(
After spending around two hours in a stylist named Antoneill ('s) chair, I walked out more than satisfied.. More like elated :) She not only repaired my horrible dye job, but she totally transformed my hair. I left feeling like a supermodel !!! Can't say enough about this woman... -

This salon I can't recommend higly enough. Romi Cortier is a very unique individual who's passion and talent in the painted canvas contributes to his expertise as a hair colorist. He went above and beyond to give me the perfect hair color. The salon itself is a cozy little place full of great art. A great reason to visit Larchmont Village.

Karen is the stylist you want to see. She does an amazing job in color, cuts, styling and she will give you an honest opinion. I go to her for everything, especially for the Global Keratin Treatments. My hair is much more manageable and healthier. Recently she added beautiful, natural highlights. She has a private room, she does a clean job, and I always leave happy.

I have been going to EJ Alejo for over 4 years now and he is an amazing stylist. He takes the time to listen to what you want and can magically transform your boring lifeless hair into a beautiful masterpiece. I highly recommend him for your next color, style , cut or all the above!!

I recently moved to LA--without my hair stylist--but a friend recommended me to Karen who works at Romi Cortier Design. I felt like I couldn't have found a better match! The salon is so cute and stylish with great prices! Karen does a fantastic job on my hair and I would definitely recommend her!

Antoniell has been my hair stylist for about 3 years now and I can't say enough good things about her to justify how wonderful a stylist she is! I have to admit that I am a pretty picky person when it comes to my hair and I can be somewhat difficult. But Antoniell not only gives me what I want but she exceeds my expectations everytime! This woman is a miracle worker with cuts AND color!

Karen is a five star hairdresser! She makes me feel like a superstar every time I leave the salon. She can do anything from color, cuts, and my favorite, the Global Keratin Hair Treatment. She transformed my hair from frizzy to smooth with that treatment. She works her magic in a private room, that makes you feel like a V.I.P. I look forward to my appointments with her. I will never trust anyone else with my hair.
