I live right around the corner from here and walk by it everyday on my way home, and given all the good yelp reviews I decided to try it out.  Came out to my car the other day to discover a missing hubcap, bent wheel, and a completely flat tire.  Don't ask me what happened, cuz I have no idea.

Anyway, got to Rolling Stock around 3pm today, a Saturday, and they were busy but I got right in.  Really nice guy at the counter quoted me right away for fixing the tire and the bent wheel, reasonable price, said he'd call me when it was ready.  Went home and relaxed for an hour, and when I went back to pick it up, they had patched the tire, fixed the wheel, AND replaced my hubcap, which I didn't ask them to do.

When I went to pay, same nice guy at the counter only charged me for the tire patch, and wished me a merry christmas.  Didn't catch his name, but he really helped me out cuz I'm not made of money.  He also turned me into a loyal Rolling Stock customer - I will recommend this place to all my friends in the neighborhood, and would definitely go back for any more tire services.

This place was recommended to me years and years ago by a good friend who was seriously into cars at the time.  He said that if I needed a used tire to replace a spare this was the place to go so I filed the recommendation in the back of my head.  I recently needed a used tire to use as a spare.

I asked for a tire and they had the size I needed. It was installed in 20 min while I got some food.  And I asked for a quote on some new tires which they promptly gave me.

    Staff was polite and fast.

These guys are amazing. First time here, bringing my recently curbed wheels on a brand new car with less than 500 miles (I cried when it happened, trust me.) I called over the phone, and asked to see if it was possible to get it taken care of today. The time was 1:45pm on a Friday, and the guy told me to come on down and they would see what they could do.

When I came down, they told me the wheel needed to machined, because of the type of wheel it was. I told them that I really needed my car back today and if there were any other options. He told me they could do their regular recovery by filling it up and painting it but there would still be a noticeable line. They also could not guarantee the quality of work.
(note: the price difference was $160 to get it machined, whereas the other method would be $85 + $25 for rebalancing, which leaves a $50 dollar difference.) Getting my wheels machined would require them to send it out, and I just couldn't leave my car there for the day.

So I told them that if I am not satisfied, I'd come back and get it machined. (Other places charge at least $250 to have your wheel repaired.) I came back at 5:45pm to pick up my car, and I couldn't notice the difference. I am very pleased with the results. Only when I look at the car very closely will I be able to notice the slight difference in paint color on the edge of the wheel.

I feel that they did a fantastic job, and offered me options based on what I needed. They could of told me that "We could only machine it, but we must guarantee or work," but they actually was able to be flexible with my situation. I am very satisfied with Rolling Stock, and I will be coming back in the near future to get that wheel machined.

I took a tire here that wasn't holding air. I drove right into the garage, told the woman at the counter what the issue was, & parked myself in their waiting room with a book. 45 minutes & $15 later, the tire was patched & back on my car & the donut was back in the trunk. Not the swankiest of tire shops, but no fuss, no muss.

I needed an odd-sized used tire and they had one! I had a flat and these guys fixed my truck within less than 20min: they took the spare off and placed it back under the truck and put the new tire on the old rim and back onto my car. Everything for $70 incl tax.
Plus, it's a pretty cool place with a nice sound system. And the guys are very friendly, helpful and polite.

    I'd definitely come back!

Rolling Stock is great!  Mention that you'll review them on Yelp and they might give you a discount!  Seriously, though, I was told by another tire place that I needed 4 brand-new tires, took my car to Rolling stock and they told me that all 4 were still fine. Totally trustworthy and quick service!

These guys are the best!  I've been coming to them for seven years and they've always taken really good care of me.

I've been to two other tire places, one time each, over the years and both times I ended up going back to Rolling Stock without purchasing anything at the other places.  Both times the other places tried to sell me tires when all I needed was a patch.

The guys at Rolling Stock are trustworthy and will never try to sell you something you don't need.  I've gone to them countless times for leaks which they patched and have bought sets of tires twice from them.  I've never been anything but 100% satisfied.

As a bonus, it's good to see a little piece of the old Mission still thriving in the gentrifying Mission!

What a treasure trove of used rims and hubcaps! Most people think a hubcap is a piece of plastic that's designed to be scratched and scuffed. I'm not most people.

When I want to pay less than what the dealer charges for a plastic wheel ornament, I call these guys up. They have most common cars' wheel covers. Also, their used rim selection is crazy good. I haven't had to replace a rim yet (and don't intend to), but I know where to go. Their alignment and new tire prices are good too.

This is hands down, the best place to get tires, brakes, alignments, etc, etc!!  Not only is this the best place in town price wise, but the guys are all really nice, very honest and never over-charge.
I took my car in 2 weeks ago because my tire light came on and I figured one of my tires was leaking a bit.  I was greeted with a smile and helped immediately.  They checked all 4 tires, filled them with air and didn't even charge me for it!
That pesky tire light came on again yesterday, so I took my car back, no appointment necessary, and was again greeted with a smile and was helped very quickly.  This time, they found a nail in one of my tires, so they patched it up, checked the air pressure on all tires again and only charged me $15!!!!
They are amazing and I highly recommend them to everyone!

I've been to Rolling Stock twice, once to drop off some Vespa tires for recycling and to have some old tires removed from wheels that needed powder coating. Both times the staff here were very helpful and friendly. A woman helped me the first time and the second time it was Jay R. The prices can't be beat. I will be using them in the future for all my tire needs.

Their service is quick, efficient, and friendly. This is a place of no BS when it comes to helping you with your tires or rims. On two occasions when I had to replace my tires, the staff was extremely helpful in searching for affordable options first. That is just awesome! I mean, where are you gonna go to have a shop that doesn't try to overcharge you? I like the 10% discount too found on Yelp.

Also, they are conveniently located so you are always BART back to your place or take a bus back.

I know where I will be taking for my tires and rims always!

Let me just say that I really love the guys at Rolling Stock! Adam and staff, you guys made my day today!

They were not only helpful and professional, but were able to take care of my major brake repair within 4 hours of when I originally brought my truck in to them. They replaced my rims, gave me new studs where I needed them, and replaced my front rotors and brakes, as well as replace a seized caliper on one side. The price was very fair, especially for all that needed to be done...

My truck is driving great now, and I'm SO happy... I highly recommend this place, especially if you want the job done right...

The little lady has a habit of the right front tire mating with curbs.   Took in the tire/rim and was told be done next day and possibly end of day.  Quoted $70 to resurface the rim and $15 to balance.

Other place wanted $200 or $150 if I went out and found some paint for it (WTF?).

    SO yes, good place.

Had a $200 tire with a bent rim which caused leaking when tire was above 10 psi.    Went in shop at 1:50 pm, left at 2:15 pm with new rim.  Diego was the service person and Lalo knew the rim type and number from 20 feet away when he saw our old 96 Saturn.   You can see more than a thousand (and I mean thousand, not hundred) rims and tires on the walls and stacked everywhere when you drive in.  Sometimes they are very busy, so Lalo said don't always expect a 15-20 minute turn around, but this a huge shop with at least a dozen employees that we could visually  count, so I can't think of anywhere else in San Francisco where you can find better prices and service.    Thanks guys.

In bought my Mazda 3 in for a tire rotation and we discovered that one of the tires was severely worn due to my wife hitting a curb and knocking the alignment out of spec. After inspecting all the tire we decided to replace them all with Delinte's. I had never heard of this brand but I didn't want to spend a ton of $$ as the car's going back to Mazda after the lease expires in 7 months.

The car then developed a shimmy in the steering rack and we discovered that the rim was bent (same curb incident I'm sure). I ordered another factory rim and then we discovered that one of the new tires was defective. Rather than mess with these we switched to a new brand and we started over and they didn't charge me one cent extra.

Jay R. was very helpful and even though I made at least 5 separate trips to get the problem resolved, these guys stepped up and made me a happy guy.

I gotta give Adam and his crew props for the service that I got with mine and my lady's car.  You know you are going to get taken care of when the owner is working the floor.  They are competitively priced and do exactly what they say they are going to do.

They are a first come first serve shop so if you can make it when they open at 8:30 chances are you won't have to wait very long at all.

If you do have to wait then definitely sit by the window in the waiting room.  It looks like a window from your perspective but from the street it looks like a mirror.  It seems like every other person walking by fixes their hair, checks their smile, sucks it in for their own view of their side profile....its pretty damn funny.  Maybe that's why it seems that your car is ready so quickly....hmmmmm

I never write reviews usually but Aldo and Jay are just amazing people - everyone here is quite over-the-top when it comes to customer service.  I got a nasty curb rash that was on the edges and face of one of my wheels recently.  I couldn't stand the sight of it at all and was very hesitant in fixing it because I was worried about blotches/paint-mismatch/etc.

I saw the reviews here on Yelp and decided to bite the bullet with this shop. I literally called every reputable wheel repair shop in the bay area (from SF to oakland to San Jose to Fremont to Sacramento even) and these guys had the lowest price by quite a significant amount.  Hearing about the lines, I went in 8:30am on a Monday morning to make sure I was in first.  Unfortunately, Aldo told me my wheel would be an overnight ordeal since the entire wheel has to be fixed then re-powdercoated.  I got a call on Tuesday that he wouldn't be able to paint-match the wheel 100% but since Aldo's a perfectionist he sent it out to one his friends to have the job done right.  I get a call on Wednesday that this friend couldn't guarantee 100% match, so Aldo told me he's gonna try another shop and that this place should be able to get it.  Wednesday evening, Aldo calls me again to tell me he has the production manager of this shop working on my wheel since he really wanted that 100% paint-match.  Keep in mind Rolling Stock's customer line resembles that of an in-n-out, and I swear Aldo himself has two cell phones that never stop ringing.

On Thursday I went into the shop and saw my wheel - it looked amazing...couldn't find the damage anywhere...I'm still trying to right now to no avail.  Aldo wrote down on my invoice a little discount too for the extra time it took to get my wheel done (driving on a spare in SF is no party).  Jay apologized that he wished he could give more of a discount since it really took so long, but instead told me that if I ever needed a flat repair (such as punctures from a nail I'm assuming) that he'd hook me up and I could come on in. When I got home and took a closer look at the wheel, I noticed a really nice finishing touch to their work.  When most shops balance you wheel, they just hammer the weights in...when you take the weights off and move them around you'll see scratches/marks where the old weights were.  What Rolling Stock did here was put an adhesive padding on my rim, then put the balancing weights on top of this padding to prevent any potential aesthetic damage to my wheel. Not much people care for this, but I think it is a detail that should be noted since nobody really does this (I've had tires balanced about 40 times throughout my life and never saw this).

Great people. Great shop. They have a TON of wheel/tire choices. All the price quotes I heard as I waited were insanely low. Go to these guys.

I walked in due to positive Yelp reviews and left because the guy I talked to was totally clueless...

The first thing out of the guy's mouth after I told him that I wanted new tires for my sportscar was "so you want the cheapest tire???". No, I don't want the cheapest tire, are you nuts? So pressing onward I went for "well, do you have any tires in X size" and he went and looked and said he could get stuff, but didn't have anything in stock but couldn't find anything under $100/tire.

At that point, I gave up - who the hell puts cheap crappy tires on a sportscar much less what tire shop in their right mind tries to sell someone cheapo tires when they walk in saying they want sport tires. Maybe its a product of the area, but a place 4 blocks away got me something good right away with minimal hassle so probably not.

In and out in an hour just like the person said. Had a curb rash repaired. These guys are really good at what they do. I have a gunmetal forged re30. At first i thought they wouldnt be able to match the color but they did.  Best of all, it didnt cost me an arm and a leg for the repair just like other shops have quoted me. I definitely recommend these guys.

I needed to get out of town right after work - and had just been told by my mechanic my tires were maybe going to explode any second if I didn't replace them.  So I needed to get new ones before work.  Luckily my friend recommended I come to Rolling Stock and ask for Adam.  Super nice, had me in and out in 30 minutes and I made it to work on time.  They even shined up my rims (I had forgotten I had them).  For a chore that no one likes to do, this made my day and I felt safe getting out of town.  Definitely recommend them. (Also, accidentally went into the garage across the street when I was looking for this place - those guys are SO RUDE, glad I kept it moving).

So I took my car in for a flat tire which they fixed, then I asked about getting my 19" rims fixed since I had a dent on them from hitting a pothole. I was originally quoted $170.00 by Jay 3 hours later I got a call to come back because the labor was going to cost more. After review the damage I was quoted $200.00. I was suppose to pick up my car on 2/10/10 but when I was their at 4:30 Jay told me it was not ready but to come back the next day and that the price had gone up to $240.00

I should of known that this was going to end bad because when I picked up my car today 2/11/10 the price had jumped to $450.00 with a so call discount real price ($550.00) but Jay was not in the shop he had gone to vacation, how convenient. well my jaw dropped and I was like WTF HELL NO. After talking to the several people finally the so called owner came by and told me he's employee Jay told me the wrong price so now i had to pay this new quote.

I was not going to pay that much money so I was talking with the owner for about 30 minutes so we can come up with a reasonable price but it was not working. Finally I had to pay $350.00 to get my baby out of the shop. I will NEVER NEVER give this place my business, how can they keep changing the price after you had agreed for the work to be done at the price they quoted you. Don't take a risk and end up like me do some research and find a better place.

I must say I haven't come across such great customer service at a tire store than I have at Rolling Stock. Yesterday I had to deal with a flat tire (apparently a piece of glass can do serious damage) and after about 30 minutes, I drove away with the same tire patched to last the lifetime of the tire.

They didn't try to upsell me anything, they didn't try to convince me that I needed to change the actual tire; just straight-up, friendly and efficient service. Beto did a wonderful job patching and changing my tire and Jay R. patiently explained everything to me (a non-car person) and sent me on my way. I really appreciate people and businesses like Rolling Stock and I know I'll be back here with all my car tire woes!!

These guys are awesome! The left rear tire fell off (yes, completely fell OFF) of my 99 Blazer one night while I was driving it. The wheel itself was completely hosed and needed to be replaced. I got an estimate for a new wheel from the Chevy dealership on Van Ness and they wanted about $500 for a new rim alone (plus another $500 for labor and the studs and bolts)!

Long story short, my dad and I looked around at the local auto salvage places for a used one to no avail. We called Rolling Stock (after getting a recommendation to them by Toscalito Tire) and they confirmed they had one that would fit for under $200, including labor.

We brought the Blazer in that same day (on a *very* busy Saturday afternoon) and we were in and out in LESS than an HOUR!! (And they even put the spare back under the rear end - which is a total pain in the ass.)

I'm going to these guys for all of my tire needs from now on. They rock. And they're funny to boot.

    Reasons I like this place:

    - Cheap used tires.
    - Cheap rim repair.
    - You can haggle an even better price out of them without much effort.
    - They guys are always laughing and ragging on each other.
    - They open early on Saturday mornings in case you hit a curb the night before and slept in your car because BART wasn't running and you're too cheap to take a cab back to the East Bay (God, I sure was broke in college)

Reasons I don't like this place:
    - The owner is so mean to his guys.  It's painful to see him yell.
    - You will be there all day (pack a lunch)
    - You can stand at the counter for a good 45 mins and no one will bother to notice you (speak up for yourself)

I got a tire fixed by them because as the tow truck was picking up my car one morning, they ripped one of my front tires.  So the tow truck company had to pay for me to get a new tire, and this place was the one they chose for my car to go to.  First, they tried to give some crappy ass cheap ass replacement tire.  Second, they took forever to order my tire.  Third, when the tire was ready, they never called me (I had to call them and was left on hold for 30 minutes only to be told my tire was ready).  Fourth, a week later, the same effing tire ended up going flat because they left a small piece of paper in between the tire and the rim as they were installing the tire.  FIFTH, they charged me to get THEIR MISTAKE fixed.  This shop is a ripoff!  Don't go here!  EVER!

Happy hour at a bar on a Friday night is the best way to describe this place.  The employees are so casual... no laid back... no unprofessional, almost comical.  I took my car in to have some curb rash touched up on one of my rims.  I walk in and see at least 5 employees, two just hanging around and 2 other customers waiting to be helped, 1 waiting for his car.  I should have taken this as a sign to go somewhere else but I figure I'm there already it can't be that bad.  One minute, two minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes before someone asked "need some help?"  Guy advised it should take no more than an hour to fix my rim.  I figure I'll grab something to eat and come back.

An hour later, my car is still waiting to be serviced.  I over hear the gentleman waiting for his car arguing with the caucasian guy how they could charge him $30 if they didn't even perform any repairs.  Guy behind the desk replied they charge to look at the rim.  The guy reluctantly paid them $15 in the end and stormed out pissed.  I would be too if I stood over an hour and a half to be told it can't be fixed and you are getting charged for it.  Person that helped me earlier said for me to wait in the waiting room, shouldn't be too much longer.

I ask every 20 minutes if my car is done, they said it's still being worked on.   An hour later I am still sitting in their waiting room.  I see people come in and back out who seemed to know the people there and came in WAY after me get their vehicles done within 45 minutes.   About the 2 hour 15 minute mark a worker getting some water looks at me and says "You had the rim repair right?  Car was finished 30 minutes ago"  Well Damn couldn't someone come in and let me know!!!  The work overall was a 2 out of 5.  Curb rash is covered but you can totally tell the paint job is not blended.  Thumbs way down on all levels, never again.

SCCCCCRRRRRAAAAPE... the anger welled up as I realized what I'd done to the right front BBS on my lovely new car. After calling my go-to tire shop, Larkin Bros., they recommended Rolling Stock as the best wheel repair shop in town. I called them, they told me to bring it in and they'd give me a quote. Next morning I stopped in, they gave me a very reasonable quote of $60 and they could do it right there if I could wait an hour. 45 minutes later it was done, and the quality of the repair was superb, especially given that these wheels are a difficult-to-match gold color.

If you ever curb-rash your wheels, Rolling Stock is without a doubt the place to go in SF.

    a REAL man's place
nothing but machos and muchachos talking about cars and shit about each other.  Fun place to wait and hang out since everyone is so cool and easy to talk to.

More importantly, their' prices are AWESOME and they don't do any suggestive sell ( would you like our life time guarantee?? How about tire insurance good for six months, etc)

They just put your tires on and let you go, just like they way they should.

wait can be a bit long though.  make sure you come early in the day or fridays late in the afternoon

I had a flat that needed fixing. I spent the week calling tire place after tire place to find the best deal. I had decided to just go someplace near by. I walked in to a different place, they looked at my cars tires, and quoted me 600+, saying I needed to replace all my tires. I told them I would come back later... Then I came into rolling stock. After about 5 min they came back and said that:

    1. I only needed to replace to two front tires.
    2. They had a set of used tires that would give me 20k miles, more if I remember to rotate them.

They told me to come back in 45 min, and in exactly 45 min I got a call telling me the car was ready. The best part about all this... I think I spend on 160 bucks for the two tires. and the work... I actually don't remember how much it was,,,, but it was crazy cheap. That and the honesty factor. They totally could have sold me 4 tires like the other place had tried to, but they were honest about what I needed.

ah my boys...Aldo, Adam, L-Train.....what would I do without you guys. I have been doing business with you (new and used tires, rims, rim repair, flat repair) since 1985.

If you are looking for a good deal or on a budget Rolling Stock is the place to go. Not only are they friendly, have excellent customer service but they stand behind their work and products 100%.

I was recommended to these guys by my tow truck driver after I got a flat (and a flat spare!) last week.

While they have a large stock of tires and seem to have a some happy customers, I was very disappointed in their service. They really don't give good customer service. It seems to be a place for hardcore shiny rims car drivers--not the average car owner.

There was a large line when I came in but I was told I would be out of there in 45 minutes. 50 minutes later they finally STARTED on my car. What's more annoying is that no one explained to me what the hell was going on. I didn't know if my tire was fixable, or if they had it in stock, or what. No explanation, no point person to tell me what is going on with the car. Also, I don't mind a friendly, low-key informal workplace. But these guys are constantly joking around and ignoring customers. I didn't feel taken care of.

Finally, after pestering a few people I found out that they had to replace two of my tires and did have it in stock. I got out after an hour and fifteen minutes, and I won't return. Service, and clear communication, especially when you are dealing with a huge investment like a car, are paramount.

Gotta give these guys the extra star! I had one of my wheels with a little nik on it that I believe just went unnoticed. Dropped the wheel off this past Saturday, they told me they would take a look and see what they could do on Monday. Got a call from Adam on Monday and they told me not to worry about and that it would be ready in a few days. I ended up getting a call the next day and they said the wheel was ready! Went to go pick it up and I couldnt even tell where the original rash was!

I'll definitely be check these guys out again for any polishing or powdercoating needs I have.

I brought 4 bent wheels to these guys last week.  One was a BBS LM with a seriously bent lip and 3 were my really nice OZ Superleggeras with multiple bends each (thanks potholes!).  Having had a wheel straightened at another shop before, I expected to pay $150 per wheel and to have warped paint afterward.

Nope!  The wheels came back this week for less than $100 each and looking as good as new.  I am seriously impressed with the quality of the work.  While I hope to never need these guys' services again, I will definitely bring them more business if I ever bend a wheel in the future.

I ran over a screw, had practically brand new tires completely flat. I thought oh my this is going to cost a fortune, someone's going to try to sell me a new tire or rims etc the usual shake down .
They said yeah, just leave it and we'll have it done ASAP.   I was really surprised by the price to fix the tire i was prepared for 2-3x that amount from prior tire experiences
They were fast and helpful these guys are real tire specialists and I highly recommend fixing a flat there.

Great place to get your curb-damaged rims resurfaced. Best price I know of.

    6/19/07

I went back here recently to get two new rear tires installed. When I came to pick up my car one of the rims was scratched! This actually happened to me before when I had gotten a tire patched at Larkin Brothers (but they were very cool about it and took care of it).

I took my car to Rolling Stock specifically because they work with exotic rims all the time; so much for that precaution! Also, when I checked the wheel locks I had just bought from them, I noticed that one of them was loose to the touch. Definitely a safety hazard; not cool!
Santos (one of the employees) must really be slacking lately.

Thankfully they redid the scratched rim the next day, but that loose wheel lock is completely unacceptable.
