It's a mall.
It's a bit bigger than you'd think Medford would have. Better selection of stores than you'd think too. Food is a disappointment but it is in all of Medford. Fun note, you can feel the floor shake on the top level. -

What to say about the mall...we have kind of a love-hate relationship, this mall & I. Having transplanted here from a more populated area, I am used to lots of shopping options and good ones at that. The Rogue Valley mall has a few basic anchor stores - Macy's, Macy's Home, Kohl's, JC Penney - some trendy teen stores - American Eagle, Gap, Aeropostale - and a fair representation of children's stores - Gap Kids, Gymboree, the Children's Place.
The best attribute is that the mall is something to do indoors during the looong chilly season. The play area (near JC Penney) is a God send when it's cold and days are shorter. Criticisms are the selection of the stores, high turnover of many shops, and it's pretty small and dated. At the end of the day, it gives an option for shopping & passing the time, but it isn't a very inspired one. -

The mall was more than ok...but a store in particular Zahara' Gems STAY AWAY!!!!!! Wen t in with some semi-presious stones (emerald, saphire, and rubies) and one of the owners Michael said they were fake and dyed. Which we know is not true since we had already had a gemologist verify they were NATURALLY GROWN the man then sent us to Fix it Fast Watch Repair since the man there is a gemologist he looked at the stones and guess what none were dyed or fake he actually wanted to purchase them once they were cut down to smaller sizes. We specifically asked the woman at the counter and she said no they were all real and they would be interested in purchasing them. We returned to Zahara's and informed the owner of this and he didn't believe us so he called down to Fix it Fast and then he proceeded to chase us out in the parking lot calling us liars and acting like a huge jerk I WOULD NEVER EVER RETURN OR REFER THIS STORE TO EVEN MY WORST ENEMY THIS MAN IS RUDE AND HONESTLY THE BIGGEST JERK I HAVE EVER IN MY LIFE THIS MAD WAS A LOW LIFE PUKE AND TO ACT THIS WAY IN FRONT OF MY SMALL INFANT SON WHAT TYPE OF BUSINESS PRACTICES DOES THIS COMPANY HAVE OR THINK ARE OK!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER BETTER PLACES TO GO AND YOU WILL BE MORE SATISIFIED WITH YOUR RESULTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Review from Doreen L.
The mall was large compared to the malls I've seen in Vermont and Binghamton but this is really only a review of the Mountainside Food Court.
I was slightly appalled at the food selection. Yes it was clean and was edible but the franchises were ridiculous. Sansei Japan sold teriyaki beef or chicken or pineapple flavored beef or chicken. How is that Japanese? The california rolls, I dared not to try, especially since it was probably bought at the local supermarket and repackaged before they place it in a Styrofoam plate to give to you. Chinese Gourmet sold the worse parts of a typical Chinese American buffet: General Tsao's chicken and thick gooey noodles with two pieces of broccoli. Zen Kitchen looked like another americanized chinese food place. I ended up eating the teriyaki beef from Sansei- which tasted of soy sauce and sugar. Edible but it really made me miss New York. New York- where distinctions between different types of asian food are celebrated whether it be Korean, Thai, Malaysian, Cantonese style or Japanese. New York- where you can have kalbi, shabu shabu, and hot pot in one day. New York- where you can have bad Chinese food any day but there are infinitely better choices.
I got sick of choosing between mediocre and bland asian food choices so the next day I got subways. -

I really enjoyed this great mall. It is just bog enough that they have a little bit of everything. Parking is good all around the mall as well.

I have to give it one more star since nobody at the generic mall kiosks chased me with a curling iron or tried to straighten my hair. And by "tried" I actually mean "grabbed my head while I was walking past and fried my luscious locks into a flat Marcia Brady-do." I don't buy volumizing shampoo for nothin!

Review from Janet W.
San Francisco, CA
As has been said before, too many vacant stores, run of the mill department stores (J.C. Penney; Kohl's (what's THAT?), and a Macy's that brings to mind Mervyn's or, better yet, Mervyn's Rack if there were such a thing. Typical mall "specialty" stores abound. Journeys, PacSun, the sport shops, the hat shops, the cheap accessorie shops, Victoria's Secret, Radio Shack, etc. See's Candies has left the mall so I see no reason to go. The mall IS clean and well maintained. I think Chico's probably has the most fashionable clothing and accessories of any of the stores but Chico's is more for the mature woman. Kohl's took over the former Mervyn's location but I am not impressed with their stock, their prices or their sales staff. Typical food court fare. But, it's the only game in town for about 250 miles so it gets two stars.

Not too bad, as far as malls go. Clean and lively. A bit too many empty stores. C'mon, guys, lets get these things filled!

The Rogue Valley Mall has a clean, safe atmosphere. It's great to walk thru and never too crowded. (except during Christmas season) BUT there's no book store anymore! The mall should give anyone a break on rent who's willing to open a bookstore because otherwise I have no reason to spend the day there.

To date, this has been my only experience with an Oregon mall and I found it to be A-OK. The stores are very decent and they do have major anchor stores here. The inside of the mall looks pretty up to date in terms of its appearance. However, I was there on a Saturday night about one hour to an hour and a half before closing time and was shocked that the mall was virtually empty. It was almost silent and barely any customers were walking around. Maybe people in the area have better things to do than frequent the mall on a Saturday evening, but I thought that it was kind of strange.

I like this mall. It's the first mall coming from California that has no sales tax and all of the cool store that I like

too many empty stores and not many cool ones...I like that they have all the food in one place - a strip of restaurants with a dining area in the middle.
