My running buddies and I are signed up for the Rogue and back running challenges. After our run, we returned to Rogue Pearl for some hydration and eats.
Their parklet is nicely built offering steady protection against cars and their umbrellas are the adjustable kind so they can be adjusted to accommodate shade based on where the sun is. Be sure to let the Rogue staff do the adjusting of the umbrellas!! Our server Colleen was quick to make the necessary adjustments.
We had marionberry cider and Yellow Snow Pilsner and tater tot's to start. The tots are perfect!!! The cider and Pilsner were soooooo refreshing!
I had the cheese curd burger. It was delicious and it is LOT of food!! The fried cheese curds on the burger add a delicious crunch. The fries are a tasty side.
The food and drinks were the perfect way to reward ourselves after our hot run.
The best part of our experience was our server Colleen!! She is quick witted and incredibly efficient.
We are looking forward to going back next week after our run to Pittock mansion!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 16, 2019
5* for the beer but 2* for the food
This is a really great spot to grab one of the many wonderful beers Rogue brews. Their menu also contains a lot of unique combinations of beer which you normally wouldn't find anywhere else.
Unfortunately, the food is below average barfood, at best. The most recent trip to this location I ordered the Buffalo chicken sliders. Unfortunately, it seemed that the batch I got did not appear to be cooked all the way through. I only finished eating one of them, actually.
This is a great place to go if you just want to grab a beer and maybe some casual appetizers. I would not recommend it if you are looking for a full meal.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

When visiting a state with over 280 breweries, one must try as many local ales as possible. While hanging out in Portland, we stopped in for dinner and more ales. This Rogue location is Conveniently located in the hip pearl district. The restaurant wasn't too busy the evening we visited and we quickly seated and greeted. We ordered and enjoyed:
Four play pizza
Rogue lettuce wraps
Flights of beer
The food and beer were great! We loved the four play pizza as there were four different types of pizzas within one pie! The ales were also memorable and a visit here will not disappoint you! Mahalo Rougue for an excellent evening !Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Dec 3, 2018
Rogue is one of the many reasons why I love Portland -- it's such a great place for a drink!
The inside is spacious and well-decorated. I sat on the bar side, not the restaurant. The wall of beer options can be overwhelming, so ask for a sample or a suggestion if you need one. I'd say beer flights are the way to go. Beers are about $6 a glass, which is totally not bad. I think beer flights were just under $10.
I had the Hazelutely Choctabulous and the Hazelnut Brown Nectar. Both were quite delicious and savory. I also tried the Nitro Oatmeal-something, and I was decidedly not a fan.
They have their merch for sale, which is pretty cool. Nice to see a company with a solid brand. I didn't get a chance to look around last time, but I'll have to check it out in the future.
Service was great. I don't remember his name, but he was chatty and knowledgeable and much appreciated.
There's food, but I didn't want food. Typical bar food, from what I remember.
I'll be back!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - 314506418Feb 12, 2019Updated review
Awesome tap room. Tons of beers to choose from. The staff and bartenders were super nice and offerred us some samples.
Im a big fan of stouts and porters and they had a good selection. For those who like lighter beers and ipas, this is also a good spot to check out.
Definitely would come back in the future.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 27, 2018Previous reviewCame here during vacation. Opted to get a flight because there were so many good beers on display. I chose the hazelutely choctabulous, mocha porter, moms hefe, and honey kolsch.
The honey kolsch was refreshing and had crisp flavors. The hefe was quite good as well. All the aromas were popping on ever sip. Not too hoppy either so it goes down smoothly.
The mocha porter was rich and creamy. Another smooth taster.
My all time favorite is the HAZULTELY CHOCTABULOUS. Huge taste of hazelnut and chocolate. Reminds me of nutella spread. Doesnt even taste like a beer due to the ingredients inside to form this powerful taste. Smooth and easy going but be careful, many have under estimated these type of beers and end up getting trashed.
We also oredered the chicken sliders. The chicken was sous vide which made it super juicy. The sauce was perfext, awesome example of heat and intense flavors. All wrapped in a Hawaiian bread. Those slices of jalepenos are no joke. Beware. Great food and great drinks. - 437714948Dec 20, 2018
We were in the area and decided to get some beers. We got the beer flight so we got to taste a variety of the beers. We tried the yellow snow pilsner, canter current, pinch imperial hose, fruit salad cider. We also got a side of dirty sweet potato fries.
The beers were alright. I liked the yellow snow and pinch imperial the most. The fruit salad cider was very sour and kind of tasted like 4lokos. The sweet potato fries were good! They were crispy enough but the potatoes weren't very sweet. The bartender was hard to get attention of even though he was right there.
It wasn't very busy and they only had 1 bartender and 1 waiter. We were seated at the bar so only got to talk to the bartender.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 19, 2019
ROUGE BREWERY Portland Or.
It was a busy day everywhere but we came in at the tail of a rush. Really fun vibe inside and out on the streets here. We did the share plate thing that when placed together looked like a party...it was. Tasty bites with a great amount of different dipping sauces. Sliders, curd, veggies...and I don't know, must have been the beers. The beer here stands on its own.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 30, 2018Updated review
Dyamo tap list! Convivial vibe in new pub layout! Great service (you rock Ana)! Hold off on the grass feb burger!
The brew tap list is dynamite and it's a cool spot to drink it up in the newly renovated pub or diner. It's way more spacious and open with that trendy contemporary industrial look. Catch my drift?
Now to the burger. It is excellent quality from Bartel Farms where the cattle lead a happy life style grazing on grass only --- no grains, right Foodies! But the burger is rolled thin as a pancake and cooked well done. Basically over cooked. Perhaps, there is an undercooking concern, but with grass fed there is 10x's less issues than beef provided in the standard industrial food (CAFO) chain where cattle do not roam, live in confinement, fattened on grain and shot up with antibiotics --- yuck at the thought of that.
Dear Rogue,
I'll be back for beer, but no grass fed burger for now. I suggest make it an 8 OZ pattty, juicy thick, cook medium (try one at Dick's Kitchen on 21st --- and you will have a winner winner winner grass fed burger). Charge a few dollars more for a delish burger. There are few concerns undercooking grass fed beef as long as the kitchen staff is managing cross contamination prep with meats with other foods. Matter of fact, medium to rare is better for grass fed and well done is a bummer!

There are 5-big pubs (a few smaller guys) that brew on site. Some brewer's do tours in their pub. Or you can pedal on Brew Cycle to local pubs. Connoisseur's looking for a diverse and unique beer delight in, some may get plastered in--a walk around the Pearl District
Being an avid tester of beer flights, preferring da "IPA," it is easy to steer visitors on a brew pub walking or biking tour around the Pearl--been there done that--and my biceps are bulging from repetitive lifting and tasting! LOL!
Out on your walk, make sure to work the Rogue into your line-up. It is great, fun pub with a laid back setting inside while going elbow to elbow in a crowded bar. Sit outside on a warm day or evening enjoying the street side scene at a picnic table. There is a casual dining room to try the grub, as good as any pub around. Been there so many times, but always liked the Kobe burger. But beer is King! So many beers listed on the chalk board behind the bar that'll make your head spin and arms swing as you attempt to plow through a taster or two.
Beer is king! Just talking IPA's--4 hop, 6 hop, 7 hop, 8 hop--hop-skip to a brutal, rye or yellow IPA! You like berries, oatmeal, french roast or even a voodoo doughnut--all in a Rogue beer. Get down in there if you dare! Belly up to the bar!
Some of their beers use hops grown at their Rogue farm in the Willamette Valley. The farm is also a place I recommend going to. See large hop fields climbing into the sky. Tour an old barn facilitated with old "some antiquated" machines processing the hops. Oh, the smell of farm fresh hops infiltrates my nasal linings, setting up my expect-tastin's! Plenty of fresh beer to taste at the farm too. Plenty of farm grown hops make it to the Rogue bar in the Pearl District.
Look for me on a Pearl walk-around and ask me--or message--anytime where to go brew pubbing!. Yelping HopHead Out! - Kamilah R.Garden Grove, CA5214Jul 21, 2020
Being on a roadtrip from SoCal to Portland and back, this was a great ending to our time in Oregon. We visited on 7/16/2020. We had the Reuben Fries, Deviled Eggs, Hawaiian Seoul Burger, and the Beyond Burger. Everyone was pleased with their orders.
Anne was our server and she was awesome! She seemed to be the only one taking orders/bussing tables inside and out at the time we got there, but she was quick and effecient and very friendly. The drink menu is a nice size, so she let us know we could taste anything that we weren´t sure about. She also gave us recommendations on drinks and what to do in the city if we were staying any longer.
There are other breweries around, but I´m sure this place is poppin when it´s fully open.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Michael S.Vancouver, WA4926321531649Dec 22, 2019
Going Rogue in the Pearl is easy-peasy thanks to 40-plus taps of Rogue Ales and Lagers and a menu featuring CHEESE CURDS.
Drink beer.
Eat cheese.
Go rogue.
Sure, the remodeled Pearl Public House of Rogue Ales has been around for awhile ... and that's a good thing ... because it's serving some of the best Oregon beers available from some of the happiest servers in the state. Of course, I'd be happy too if I could sip Imperial IPAs at work *wink-wink*...
If you can only try one beer at Rogue Pearl Public House, leave and come back when you can drink like a rogue.
When you finally do make it to Rogue, plan to drink (and uber your way home). Start with a Dead Guy Ale, their world-famous Maibock delivering 6.8% abv & 40 ibu or a New England IPA called Wombatsquatch with 6.4% abv & 41 ibu ... or, simply get whatever cider, sour, or brew will get you feeling rogueish.
Then, it's time for the Double IPA (aka Imperial IPA) tandem that makes Rogue one of my liver's favorite breweries: Wrath of Dorado Imperial IPA at 9.8% abv & 82 ibu or Hop Greed Imperial IPA at 10.2% abv & 60 ibu. Both taste like you shouldn't be driving and will make you feel like a real rogue for at least one double-dealing night.Helpful 114Thanks 0Love this 112Oh no 0
