I love love love this place! I found out about it about a month ago and have been 3 times since! I'm not the type of person that's into gardening and plants and all that, but I've gotta hand it to them they have some pretty spectacular stuff. Their arrangements are second to none that's for sure. I went during the holiday season and the decorations were absolutely phenomenal.
I would have to say my favorite feature was the potting station. I asked a girl named Tracey at customer service if she could help me make a custom arrangement similar to one that I really liked but in a different pot. She said no prob and made the most beautiful arrangement of succulents I have ever seen! I was so excited that I ended up asking her to make me two more for Christmas gifts! They were so pretty that they received countless compliments from people just passing the station, let me tell you... Tracey knows how to gather an audience! The funny part? Two different times we had other customers take the arrangements right out of my cart to buy them when we weren't paying attention! Luckily we got them back!
We definitely ended up paying a lot more than we had expected but I couldn't imagine getting anything better. The cool thing too is that Tracey not only helped save our Christmas (last minute shoppers!) but my mom and I learned so much about the different plants and the different care and maintenance that they need. I posted pics of the arrangements in the photo section :).Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 10, 2024
I prefer to order flowers or plants locally, in proximity of a friend or relative. I think this gives me greater control of what will actually arrive, after having a few negative experiences purchasing from nation vendors.
A Yelp search for Newport California resulted in several highly rated businesses. After reviewing the Yelp profile of several of these establishments I selected Roger's Gardens. I liked their website and preferred a plant to flowers. Roger's had a nice selection of holiday plants and gifts, and we selected the azalea arrangement shown in the photo.
This holiday plant was delivered on time and it looked great when it arrived. I'd be delighted to use them again.Helpful 49Thanks 6Love this 44Oh no 1 - Robin L.La Mirada, CA217203Mar 17, 2024
Over priced and pretentious. A great selection of plants at grossly inflated prices. A place for rich ladies to get their gardening itch scratched at 3 times the price. Their gift items are a charming mix of products crafted by foreign nationals in factories far far away that are meant to look handmade but they are mostly plastic (resin) disguised as something organic. If you're patient, in a few months you'll find their seasonal offerings at Home Goods at more reasonable prices.
If you require that your nursery have a valet, a nice cafe and an abundance of sticker shock options, this is the place for you!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - John J.Irvine, CA0201Jan 2, 2024
Awesome nursery with some bonuses inside. We have bought some great plants and pottery in the gardening section along with delicious cookies inside. They have delicious bites in the restaurant and lots of festivities during the holidays.
Roger's is a terrific place to buy herbs, peppers, tomato plants and flowers. You can also buy larger varieties like avocado trees. Their prices are competitive too. Check them out. Definitely worth a visit, but during the holidays you should try using ride-share because parking can be a challenge.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 21, 20241 check-in
After having brunch at Farmhouse, we strolled the gardens. It was lovely. The plants were aesthetically pleasing and everything was nicely organized. I especially liked the variety of succulents. The prices here are on the high end though.

A beautiful place to be especially during the holiday season. Christmas goodies, trees, lights, ornaments, and so much more. Great for gifting to yourself or to a loved one. But beyond gifting, it's just a great experience to head here and marvel at the way they display everything. Selection abound! Plants and all.
Just prepare to dig a little deeper than usual but it's well worth it.
Located by Fashion Island, they also have a food place here.
Verdict - great place to visit for garden needs, outdoor decor, and maybe even dine. Just reserve. Parking can be a challenge but just be patient.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 16, 2023
This was my first time visiting Roger's Gardens and I was pleasantly surprised. It's the holidays, so they had lots of beautiful Christmas trees, wreaths, garland, and poinsettia plants everywhere!
We spent an hour walking through the nursery and pottery section before we found the Farmhouse restaurant. We knew that reservations were needed in advance, so we didn't even try to get a table ... next time!
There are several places for great Instagram photos with succulent walls and Christmas backdrops. If you subscribe to their newsletter in advance you'll receive a 25% discount on a $100 purchase, which I easily spent!
We'll be back in the spring time to see how the merchandise changes as well as the decor.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 4532362773Oct 27, 2023
This place is really beautiful! They had a huge selection of plants and themes throughout.
I enjoyed the pumpkins and Halloween decorations for fall. Which is what initially peaked my interest. It was a cool assortment of items however I expected the space to be larger so that was a let down. I went a week day early in the fay and it was crowded.
I much preferred exploring the Christmas area it was spacious and felt so beautifully arranged and look forward to visiting in December with family.
Service is hard to gauge as no staff spoke to me, but I typically prefer this so I am neutral on the customer service aspect of this place.Helpful 19Thanks 4Love this 19Oh no 1 - 4106928116Oct 8, 2023Updated review6 check-ins
10/8/23 The Halloween Spooktacular I have been waiting for!!!
I missed last year's and I not about to miss this year! Been looking forward to the ooh's and aahh's and it definitely did not disappoint. There's not much to say but, WOW and beyond! Sure, the prices here are just insane but the attention to detail plus the amount of effort the staff put in would just blow your mind.
Come in for the sake of endless entertainment, the wow factor is intense. I promised I was NOT going to check out their Christmas decor, but I could not control & contain myself, I "peaked"--which basically meant I went all in & just gawked at their presentations.
Ah, yes, my happy place....Helpful 15Thanks 3Love this 16Oh no 1Business owner information

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful experience! We truly appreciate your kind words and are thrilled to know that you consider our establishment your Happy Place. We're delighted that you found the event on our Yelp page informative and that you were able to learn about the importance of native, pesticide-free milkweed for Monarch Butterflies. It's truly fascinating to discover the intricate details of these majestic creatures and their endangered status.
Jun 17, 2023Previous review6/17/23 Customers rolling in their Porches, Range Rovers, Mercedes Benz & BMWs....you know the clientele here can definitely afford the $$$ of this well-manicured garden & supply. For me, it's a Happy Place
Been meaning to return & I was very fortunate to visit on this beautiful, warm & sunny day. The event featured on our Yelp Event page is for hummingbirds but I wanted to browse & check out milk thistle for Monarch Butterflies. I learned that planting only native (locally grown) & pesticide free milkweed is best to attract these majestic creatures--AND to avoid tropical milkweed that carry microscopic protozoan parasites that harm adult Monarchs which impact their migratory habits. I didn't know that milkweed (in all their various forms) is THE exclusive food plant of Monarch butterflies. Moreover, these butterflies were added to the endangered species as of July 2022. It's fascinating what one can learn from visiting my Happy Place.
Of course, I cannot pass on purchasing a little treat for hubby for taking me here (he stayed in the car, boo), Rustic Bakery cookies: chocolate cacao nibs shortbread & my Meyer lemon shortbread. Parking is plentiful & the staff are super nice, friendly & helpful. I could knock off a star for the high price tag but it's not obscene & it's well worth it for keeping this place in splendid condition.Nov 6, 2022Previous review11/6/22 I sincerely thought I reviewed this place already! Simply spectacular!
Words truly cannot describe the beauty & vastness of this wondrous garden. You just have to come & see for yourself. There's too many areas & things for me to capture in my photos. It's definitely a must see & experience.
It does have a $$$ attached to it but it's righteously priced for all the care & quality of their plants & decorative show pieces. You can easily spend a good hour or two here browsing unless you have your items in mind already.
The staff are amiable & helpful. It is well maintained garden & there's a restaurant next to it that boasts a farm to table menu. It's worth a visit for every holiday is celebrated with the most tasteful decor. Come visit & experience Roger's Gardens! - Nov 6, 2023
Beautiful everything here. I like to go to see the seasonal displays.
Unique plants and pots. Lots and lots to see. When it is planting season, you will see a huge variety of the given plant you are seeking.
We were there when the sweet peas were showcased. They had pictures and detailed descriptions of the flowers.
Lots of fancy things that demand a higher income than mine to regularly access. Great post-holiday sales.
The parking is limited.
Worse on the weekends.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 3, 2023
After seeing their Witching Hour Halloween Boutique, I KNEW I HAD TO GO.
It is definitely a drive for me, but as we had plans to explore more around the area, I was glad I had the chance to go. It is worth it for those who love Halloween and it's completely free too! Just know that it is an IMPRESSIVE garden. Not a simple nursery selling horticulture or botanical goods, etc. It's an EXCURSION. There's so much to look at and you can tell that the staff puts great thought into the presentation, décor, and set up of all that they offer there. There's also a very small fine art gallery and a sit down restaurant as well. Great for a day trip, thing to do on the weekend, or a day time date.
Scroll down if you want to see my review for the Halloween boutique, but I'm going to talk about the general garden here.
There is SO much to look at, every which way that you go. There's a gift shop near the front with so much to offer from perfumes, dried food, candies, napkins, towels, indoor and outdoor décor, miscellaneous trinkets, hot sauces, charcuterie items, and so much more. Definitely the place if you want to get a slightly nicer, more higher end gift since the items here reminded me of a much nicer Home Goods, lol.
Whichever plants, flowers, or gardening tools or supplies you can ever fathom of needing, you can find it here! There's succulents, mini hanging humming bird houses (actually many wooden and other types of bird houses), miniatures garden with moss and the ceramic miniatures, more roses (many types that I've never seen before), native Californian plants and plants perfect for conserving water, herbs, landscaping plants and items, etc. They even had a wishing tree to put a monarch butterfly on, as well as some caterpillars getting ready to be crowned (developing into butterflies) to observe. So many photo opportunities here as well.
NOW FOR THE HALLOWEEN BOUTIQUE:
If you love stopping by craft or home goods or décor shops for the holidays, you have to go to Roger's Garden. Like the rest of the garden, so much thought was put into the theming of each room or space that you go into with not only the items for sale but the displays that they have ranging from a witch's kitchen, vintage Halloween dining table, a spooky swamp, skeletons galore, a ghoulish garden, a creepy couch and fireplace set, and so much more.
No matter how you enjoy your Halloween style and décor, there is bound to be something here for you! Very unique pieces ranging from indoor to outdoor décor, party supplies, home goods (pillows, etc.), yard décor, light up décor, décor that generate fog, etc. They even had pitcher plants for sale! Great for photos and I believe some people even dressed up to take photos!
It does get quite crowded, especially on the weekends, so just keep that in mind! Not only was the boutique filled with people back to back, but the parking was quite a challenge. We were lucky but I know some people just park across the street and walk over.
I am going to also add the caveat that it IS pretty pricy and seeing that the gardens is located in a more affluent area I can see why. We didn't get anything but still had a great time nonetheless.Helpful 7Thanks 2Love this 6Oh no 0
