Rogelio's is a great spot in the delta town of Isleton. They really do have everything here... rooms to stay, a bar, poker, Asian, Mexican and Italian food. "Jack of all trades... master of none" applies here. The food is good, though what you would expect from a place offering three different styles.
My favorite part of Rogelio's is the card room in the back. They've got a 6pm tournament and then cash games afterwards. I love playing in small card rooms like this with the characters that you know are there EVERY day. Even if you get drawn out on, you're definitely in for some entertainment, interesting characters and good people.
I just love small places like this where the owner is so hands-on and always a part of what is going on. I'll be back again very soon. -

I'm always leary of a restaurant that cannot decide on a specific cuisine. They serve Chinese, Mexican, Italian and American.
I guess that was then and this is Rogelio's!
After a day of drinking up and down the river we stumble into Rogelio's - yay, us!!
Barbara is the weekend bartender and she makes a mean drink, a sturdy drink, if you will.
I sort of remember meeting some cool people and I sort of remember the food my husband ordered. In any event, he said it was good.
They have a little "hotel" business they operate and for under 100.00 you can get a room for the evening and a free entree per person - that is pretty cool.
It's sort of dark inside so load up on your carrot juice before you come here - It sort of appealed to the vampire interest I have.
Isleton is a charming town with some cool history - swing by next time you are in town to wet your whistle and grab a "carnitas-egg roll-alfredo-burger"
You can thank me later. -

The hubby and I were looking for a late breakfast-early lunch-let's call it brunch place near home (the Delta) yesterday (a Saturday). He's a huge fan and has been there countless times for dinner. I reluctantly said yes, mainly to shut him up, so I could eat. I really did not feel like Mexican food at 11am, but I figured a taco of some sort would be fine.
It was a little too dark for me for lunch time, but the atmosphere looked great for dinner time. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. I was pleasantly surprised by the menu considering I was expecting 100% Mexican choices. They had much more than that: Italian, Chinese, and American, too.
I had the worst time trying to decide what to order because there were so many choices! I finally decided on #31 - Rice, Bean, & Cheese Burrito (see menu picture) because it's hard to mess that up. It was so good I wolfed 4/5 of it down right there. I only saved a little just for a snack later. I could have finished it despite it's monstrous size. It tasted that good. The milk was great. Who usually writes home about milk? I normally wouldn't except this milk was amazing! I even liked the glass it came in (see picture). Hubby also enjoyed his Titanic-sized meal - #33 - see pic of menu. The meal concluded with, what else but fortune cookies (see picture)!
I would return even if the restaurant wasn't a mere five miles from where I live. I am such a creature of habit and order the same thing everywhere I go. I have a favorite for all my usual haunts and backup choices for new places. Rogelios motivates me to want to try new things. AND I just can't wait to try the margaritas I keep hearing about! -

You want it they got it. Very good job for a small town restaurant with a humongous menu. Impressed

Unpalatable.

When another Delta restaurant refused to accommodate our friends' rehearsal dinner party at the last minute,Rogelio's said "Sure!" When the fridge at a Delta hotel was too small to hold the wedding cake, Rogelio and co. kept it safe in their walk-in. And when last-minute guests needed a place to stay, they found comfy beds at Roy's. The owners and staff really went above and beyond for our friends, and made their Delta wedding unforgettable.

When you want to go snuggle up to a retro American dinner house for a yummy time this is the place. With its American, Chinese, Mexican and Italian menu full of wonderfully predictable food, you can't go wrong. I say predictable, cause I ordered a mexican combo plate dreaming of a yummy meat-stuffed burrito under melted cheese swimming in a large plate of rice and beans and- Got It! No creative ways to cut back on value by being neo-tex-mex-cheap here! We added yummy, large, pot stickers and spring rolls- where else can you do that? The bartender and her consorts were friendly, something of a surprise in bars these days. The location is interesting- in a chinese-ghosttown area of Isleton within walking distance to the river.
Can't wait to drive 3.5 hours to go back! -

Used to live in Isleton, and have eaten here more times than I can count.
In case anyone is wondering, it's owned by a couple... he's Mexican and she's Chinese... hence the mixed menu. Not sure where the Italian part comes from. The Mexican and Chinese dishes come from separate parts of the kitchen, and they're both excellent quality.
Oh, and the margaritas... I miss the margaritas. -

My family and I have been to Rogelio's twice... first time was a few years back. I loved the whole Chinese, Mexican, Italian, American food choice thang and I liked the unusual set up of the place with the separate dining areas, bar area, etc.--I don't recall what I ordered the first visit but it must have been pretty good, because when we visited Isleton again last month, I heartily suggested going back to Rogelio's.
Well, this last visit, the place was as I remembered it... Our waitress was charming and soft spoken and reminded my daughter and I of Wing (www.wingmusic.co.nz) which was awesome... we were hoping to hear her to belt out "Dancing Queen" in the bar (they have karaoke some evenings- woo!) but no such luck...
Right away, the Wing-look-alike served us our one little complimentary bowl or chips and salsa-- chips were good and warm ... liked the salsa... We also ordered some pot stickers which were decent... Then the main course arrived. I had ordered the 2 beef tacos meal with rice and beans. Rice and beans were tasty... I grabbed the first taco to take a bite and noticed the corn tortilla was pretty soggy which wasn't the best sign but oh well... took the first bite-- the tortilla was blah... and then I felt it-- a gelatinous mouthful of beef fat which I (hopefully) discretely spit into my napkin. The next bites weren't any better. The shredded beef meat was fattier than I would have liked and just tasted off. I didn't finish the first taco and decided to start in on the second to see if it was any better... it wasn't. And I couldn't even pick then thing up because it was super soggy so I ate part of it with a fork after digging around for parts of the meat that looked ok.
My daughter's meal wasn't good either... she ordered the New York steak sandwich. Portion size wise, it was also huge which would be cool if it was a decent steak, but it wasn't :( ... I gotta say that I did advise her beforehand that she might want to order something else on the menu but she couldn't decide on something else so she just went with the steak sandwich. (Our dogs at home were happy she brought home the steak in a doggie bag, though!)
My husband had Rogelio's Special Burrito with Chicken -- it was HUGE and looked actually pretty good. He enjoyed it and had no complaints. He brought over half of the burrito home. I wanted to try it but after the tacos I just didn't feel up to it.
Anyway, I'm not ready to write off Rogelio's completely... Overall, I think it's a cute place. I will just definitely steer clear of the shredded beef tacos. -

I stumbled into Rogelio's with a friend of mine on a saturday afternoon while exploring Isleton. I've always been a fan of small town bars and I was pleased with how kind the staff of Rogelio's was to us. Barbara, our bartender, was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped steer us in the right direction with other places to explore in Isleton. The food was great, the drinks were cheap and they didn't skimp on their pours. I look forward to spending more time there in the future. Barbara and the entire Rogelio's staff are definitely worth the hour drive it took us to get there and I would highly recommend stopping by on your way through the tiny Delta town.
