Headed home to Dallas, saw the restaurant and took a chance.  Best chance I ever took.

    Positives
    - Sassy girl behind the counter
    - best chopped pork sandwich I ever had
    - sides were incredible
    - peach cobbler to die for
    - they gave us free rib sample - wow, smoking good!

    Negatives
    - not close to my house in Dallas

This is a must visit - preferably NOT waiting until 1st Monday to avoid crowds

I've eaten at Rod's twice in the past 6 months as I've passed through Canton on business.  Very good BBQ and excellent sides.  The spicy beans are a must if you like spicy foods.  The last time I went I tried the pulled pork which was good but not overly flavorful.  Next time I'll stick with the brisket.

Great pulled pork. Pork ribs very good, but not baby backs. Frijoles very good. It puts me off a little when you spend over $20 and they won't take a bill larger than a $20. I remember when you could make a $20 last all weekend but get real now.

I grew up in this town and have eaten BBQ all over this nation. Hands down my fav shack to go if you need a new sauce stain on your shirt. Plus, the homemade pies are... Well they are homemade! Doesn't get better than that! Swing by and try it out for your own sake!

Stopped here for lunch while in town on business.  The Q was very good.  Brisket was juicy and cut to order with or without a little fat.  Why would you eat brisket without a little fat??  The sausage was tasty, but the casing was cooked so it was a little tough.  The baked beans and coleslaw were very good.
Only down side was the dining room was pretty empty when I was there, about 2 PM.  The owner/manager and a group of friends were gathered at a table and were very noisey.  Lots of loud talking and laughing.  I guess it was their place, but it just seemed excessive when others were there to try to have a meal.  Just a point with me, but it made me decide on 3 stars, not 4.
Will try again next time I am in town.

Another wonderful joint to stop if you are craving for a juicy BBQ.  They offer mild, regular, and spicy BBQ sauce.  The chopped beef sandwich with regular sauce is a must to try!
