Rocky Neck is my summer house. It's so easy to rent a campsite and spend a good couple of days/week relaxing on the beach and enjoying the Niantic area. My favorites are:
-the East Beach (especially if you don't have kids) which is always less crowded than the west beach.
-looking for crabs in the inlet and marshes.
-going for a hike
-eating at local restaurants- Dad's, the Shack, Grandpa's, the new ice cream at Gumdrops & lollipops.
For the adventurous and return visitors, you can check out the New London area while you're here too.
An awesome cheap vacation.

a really cool beach. nice boardwalk, interesting stone pavillion, large breakwater you can walk out on, lots of sites to see, lots of places to hike around. the trains cruise by right along side the beach here, pretty neat.

What an awesome state park!

A definite fun place - with a great beach and places to hike.

I have now been there twice - and while it is crowded in the summer, it is enjoyable in both the summer and fall.

It is a great place to enjoy the outdoors!
