1 review for Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum
This museum is divided up in a business building, so that you go from the front display room, down the hall to another display room, and across the hall to two different store fronts, if you want to purchase anything. They have many new and used quilts for sale. Open M-Sat, 10am to 4pm, Sun noon to 4pm. Price $6 for adults.
The exhibit itself currently features different quilting styles, from the traditional to very innovative. One exhibit is Sisters in Cloth: works by African-American textile artists. In that exhibit, one quilt caught my eye: done by a woman who got breast cancer and survived in memory of her daughter who also got breast cancer, but succumbed. Another quilt was an appliqued portrait of Bobby McFerrin, who wrote the song, "Dont' Worry, Be Happy." The other exhibit was Pre-1840 Bed Coverings by the Amerian Quilt Study Group.
The exhibits change, so if you go there, you may be treated to a whole different experience.
