I stopped in after climbing Quandary Peak figuring I would treat myself after all that hardwork. The Chocolate with Peanut Butter was fantastic. Super moist cake and light flavorful frosting. The cake held together well and didn't fall apart after a bite.

If you ever wanna feel like a kid in the candy store, come here.
They've got everything from homemade ice cream, including my favorite Cupcake flavored, to gummies, to candied apples, and mountains of sugary sweets that will make your Dentist very happy!

My whole family came here last week...the cupcakes looked just okay, and were, of course, overpriced.  I noticed they only had about 5 flavors of cupcakes, which I found rather odd for a CUPCAKE shop.

We all had ice cream....I chose lemon cream-light and delicious!  They are great about giving out little samples.

Cupcake flavors sounded creative so I got brave and ordered the chocolate with Baileys frosting. It was not flavorful but moist enough. My friend had a vanilla and a strawberry, both he said were dry and dull. Nothing to write home about. Skip it and hit up the frozen yogurt stand. One flavor but comes with fresh fruit.

I learned of Rocky Mountain Cupcakes so innocently in conversation, while on vacation in Breckenridge. At that moment, I decided I must try these specialty desserts to compare and contrast to my cupcake experiences back home in DC.

Our week was booked with all day trips to various local mountains, apre ski and dinner reservations.... so my chance to sneak over to RMC was very limited. Wednesday was our day off, and I could not WAIT to see what kinds of tasty treats were waiting for me! The anticipation was building, as I envisioned all sorts of cool cupcake names, like the sensational snowball, or icecle frosted something-licious.....

...only to walk up to the front door and find out they were closed.

    Closed.

    Closed? Really?

I looked closely at the sign, slightly shocked.

    "Gone Skiing."

I didn't know what to think! It was, admittedly, a gorgeous bluebird day. Sunny skies, perfect temps, and fresh snow was received a few days earlier. If I had to work that day, I too might feel the need to sneak out for a few turns.

But wait... I want some cupcakes!! And you LIVE in Colorado...you can ski over 100 days out of the year! There are tons of unemployed people out there these days. I would imagine if you could close down your business to ski, you could afford to hire someone to sell cupcakes!!

Needless to say, I left town very disappointed. If I return, I might give you another try. Maybe.

After a totally filling dinner and I didn't need to have a sweet my group and I spotted Rocky Mtn Cupcakes! Super cute interiors and friendly staff told us about the various flavors available.

I enjoyed a peanut butter chocolate cupcake and my friend has a mint chocolate cupcake. They were $3.25 each which I thought was fair. They have 6 standard flavors and rotate through other flavors every day.

In addition to cupcakes they have coffee and ice cream. I can't wait to try their Chia cupcake next.

*Sorry I don't have any pictures to share. Next time.

Great, cute , fun little place. Wonderful for kids. It's fun to look at all of their wares and just enjoy the atmosphere of the shop.

We didn't even get a cupcake but their ice cream was delicious. We got cookies and cream and sea salt caramel. The latter was sooo good. It almost had a toasty flavor. The salt and sweet complimented each other wonderfully. Reminded us of butter brickle at Bonnie Brae back in Denver but even better.

We went to Breck last weekend for the Ice Sculptures and ended up sharing a cupcake.  They are brand new but had a ton of cupcakes.

We shared a Red Velvet cupcake and it was yummy.  The staff was super friendly.  Who isn't friendly when you are selling cupcakes?

Worth a stop in if you're up there.

We went to Rocky Mountain Cupcake the other day for some ice cream. While the ice cream was good, it couldn't cover up the bitterness left after I had to fork over $11 for just me and my boyfriend (even after the discount)! The scopes were tiny! Shockingly tiny! I've had their cupcakes before too... which aren't bad but I've had much better. Check out Clints if you're looking for some good baked goods. For ice cream, skip this place and head to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory or Mimi's.

I discovered Rocky Mountain Cupcakes on Yelp and HAD to go over my trip to Breck. I'm glad I did! I had the Rocky Mountain cupcake - also discovered on Yelp - it's delicious and very, very rich! A little expensive and the store's setup leaves a ton of wasted space (room for tables, please?) but overall this was a great treat!

The storefront here used to be the former location of the chocolate shop (moved down the street). The people working here are very nice and super helpful when it comes to making a selection. The store is bright and cutely decorated.

The cupcakes on display look very yummy and pretty but taste could be another story.  This may not be true for all varieties here ( I have only tried two so I should be fair), but "bland and off-tasting" especially applies to the red velvet. Now, I am a DEVOTED fan of red velvet cupcakes. Ask anyone and they will tell you they are my favorite, hands down. Despite the fact the cake itself was moist, it did not taste right. It kind of had a slight banana-ish aftertaste. The icing tasted a bit too cream cheesy as well.

However, I also bought two vanilla cake cupcakes topped with a lovely, airy chocolate icing that reminded me of light-textured mousse. The husband and I liked that cupcake the best. The cake had a nice balance of vanilla and sweet and the delicate icing gave it a tasty touch. It was just really good.

The prices for a cupcake are a bit pricey.  I bought 4 and the total came to over 12 bucks with tax. The cupcakes are not that big either. Their size reminds me of the cupcakes made at home.

I am glad I tried these cupcakes and I really enjoyed my interaction with the staff. I will be sure to try other varieties next time I am there but I  think I will refrain from the red velvet.

Oh what a sweet little piece on heaven, right on Main Street! I can never just walk past this stop. I'm on a mission to try all of their cupcakes, of course one a visit. By far, my favorite is the Key Lime cupcake. It simply melts in your mouth. I recommend everyone in Breckenridge or visitors to Breck to give this place a try.

I rarely have a sweet tooth, but I couldn't pass this place up.  My thoughts on cakes are that it is to hold the icing up...but the cupcake I had here complimented the icing (cappuccino) and it was awesome!  Luckily my husband paid so I didn't see the bill (I just saw the other reviews about the price)...but I think I'd pay a little extra for another cupcake :)!

well, i'd give it a 3, but my sister would give it a 5, and it's for the same reason. we both had the cookies and cream cupcakes, which were fantastic, except (she would say, "and, awesomely,") the middle was filled with frosting, too!  frosting is good, but i didn't like getting a whole (surprise) mouthful of it when i bit into the middle!  the flavors were great, though. nothing too out of the ordinary, but definitely cupcakes done well.

Anything your little heart desires, can be found here...that is, if it is desirous of decadent, sweet, creamy, and intensely addictive.  But, if you are a dessert freak like me, the addictive part should be of no surprise to you.  Since I fancy myself a cupcake aficionado, it is my sworn duty to direct you to the truly wanton cupcake joints.  You have arrived . Tempt you tongue with the Chocolate Peanut Butter, or the Rocky Mountain cupcake.  If you can't decide between a brownie or chocolate cake for dessert, the Rocky Mountain cupcake would be a compromise that you can sink your teeth into; rich, moist, and thoroughly chocolate.  The Chocolate Peanut Butter cupcake has a silky, creamy, peanut butter, butter cream that melts on your tongue, with that same rich chocolate cupcake.  No matter what you try, it is all beautifully presented, lovingly made by hand, and best of all, reasonably priced.  The owner here is really sweet, and very helpful.  She takes a great deal of pride in her creations.  Next time I go...tomorrow?... I'm going all in for the Cake Poppers!  Give them a try.  Your sweet tooth will not be sorry.  Make sure you  tell them Yelp sent ya.

the cupcake i had satisfied my sweet tooth. chocolate with chocolate frosting....a little stale, but what's up with all these designer cupcakes? even more strange...why do fools like me pay for a little cake that costs too much? i don't know....trying to be trendy. 4 bucks for a little tastiness.
