I really wish my party and I had decided to come to the Rockwell for dinner AND drinks instead of eating at the Vermont first.

We went to the Rockwell to find that almost every seat was filled. Luckily, we went to the 2nd floor and found a booth at the far end of the lounge.

As far as classy lounges go, this one definitely is a place to visit. The atmosphere is great- both indoor AND outdoor, with spaces to sit everywhere and in-between. The ground floor has a stage for live performances, and also this beautiful tree which goes through all the floors.

I ordered the Addison, one of their specialty cocktails with a whole lotta gin, and some cucumber, lemon/lime, and dill. Refreshing and oh-so-strong! The birthday boy got the Gemini, another specialty cocktail, made with vodka and charboiled grapefruit.

My second drink was a French, Pear Martini, strong and sweet, We munched on one of their flatbread/pizza choices, a chorizo-meat combination. Yummy and great portions! The prices were pretty standard- $10 for a specialty cocktail, $4-7 for bottled beers, $6-10 for desserts, $8-15 for food.

Our waiter was exceptional! He was really friendly, and despite the hoards of customers, he always checked up on us to refill any drinks, take more orders, or just chit-chat. He even gave me a free glass of chardonnay near the end of the night!

A great experience overall. Would definitely return for dinner and drinks.

My vision of Rockewell is rather hazy... 2 hours into a birthday dinner at the Vermont Restaurant, I was already intoxicated with 3 shots of some killer tequila from Mexico (smuggled into the restaurant as a birthday present) and 2 glasses of chardonnay.

This place is like a trendy little modern courtyard with a huge Coral Tree in the middle that shoot up through all 3 floors of the lounge. I guess the tree is pretty cool, but it still has the typical Hollywood/LA chic look... nothing special.

I felt the place was too quiet for a Saturday night.  If it wasn't for the birthday party, the bar would've been empty... which was pretty nice because it was like a private birthday party (kinda)

Maybe it's the location?  I would like to see more excitement at this lounge.  Probably a great place to hold networking events.

Looking for a swanky spot in Los Feliz? Rockwell would be a place to go.

(But keep in mind that I wouldn't refer to it as THE place to go.)

Tucked away in the back of the Vermont Restaurant, Rockwell is a watering hole for the fancier folks of Los Feliz. It's dangling on the edge in an area full of pub-ish places like Ye Rustic Inn, The Dresden and the new Public House.

Conveniently located next to Machos Tacos and a Taxi hub, it could be a great end of the night spot, but the few drawbacks that it has are enough to keep me from spending my recession cash there.

Wandering around the restaurant (bar? I couldn't really tell what it was defining itself as) I passed multiple staff members who had matching t-shirts and confused facial expressions. After finding myself banned from the second floor, I found my own seat in a booth next to the bar.

A few minutes passed without any interaction with the staff, then suddenly I had 4 different rounds of servers ask me for my order. Like an adult, I ordered a cocktail and like a child they gave it to me in a sippy cup. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that it's some sort of health & safety code. If that is the case (and they're not just being cheap) then they should take it upon themselves and make it something interesting, not just the fake glass feel.

PS.
Big fan of what they did with the interior.

Some things look so right on paper you imagine there's no conceivable way for it not to be love at first sight. That's pretty much how it went down for me at Rockwell. I kept giving it the once over. Keeping an open mind. Giving it another chance. Waiting for it to take hold of me. Wow me. Sweep me off my feet.

It didn't happen.

Everything about Rockwell, from its hidden location behind Vermont to the Robinson Crusoe vibe afforded by three levels of seating situated around a long rooted, lantern lit coral tree, all seemed perfect. But sadly, it didn't really live up to the hype for me.

My Soronita cocktail of mezcal, Pama, lime juice and agave was smokey and tasty despite lacking the distinctive Pama the menu declared should've been in there, and at $9, I appreciated the fuschia orchid floating on top. That cocktail is where the love stopped for me, though. The steak frites was well cooked, nicely seasoned and well presented, but the small plate portion for $17 seemed a bit much. Not as over the top as the $13 for a little row of "filet mignon asada" mini-crispy shell tacos, however. They were palatable and all but not great. Same was the case with the chocolate cookie skillet at another $13. Something with a name (and price tag) like that should leave you like a puddle in your seat, but this was decidedly underwhelming and had the table talking about how it was like a tiny version of BJ's pizookie, except... not as good. Ouch.

Overall, it was nice. Yes, nice. Not ohmigod I'm in love can't wait to go back hot, but, a lukewarm to tepid kinda nice. Would I go back? For a drink, sure, but I won't be getting my knickers in a twist over the prospect any time soon.

It will Rock you Well
As a promoter for The Vermont, I have been anxiously waiting for Rockwell to open. A year a ago was the first time I heard about the news from Manuel and Chris (owners). Now that it's here this is the perfect place to mingle, lounge and network. Great for social gatherings and b-day party's. Also great for 1st dates, not to intimate but dark enough to be sexy & mysterious.

Rockwell has an amazing open air atmosphere a 2 level venue with a third section, great for private events. The staff is friendly. The Drinks and Food is great.
If your in the neighborhood you should definitely stop by for a drink!

Cheers

I can only write this review based on the lounge itself...I happened to be apart of bachelor party which one of the guys in my group knew someone who worked here. I got a free shot of Patron and was only here for maybe 2 hours...

The building itself is really nice. An open air two leveled restaurant / lounge built around a tree in the middle. The VIP lounge area provides views of LA as well as The Griffith Observatory to the east.

The staff seemed friendly but the patrons (as in people who go here...not shots of tequila) are your typical run-of-the-mill LA / Hollywood trendies who sensed our South Bay / Long Beach presence as soon as we walked through the door. If you have seen the movie Swingers and remember the scene where they go to the party in the Hollywood Hills and everyone stops what they are doing as soon as Mikey, Trent and Co. walk through the door and stare...it was kinda like that...but maybe not as dramatic.

Otherwise, this place is nice...I would like to venture out to LA someday and take my girl to this place as it has awesome mood lighting and apparently the food is really good.

It's ok. Much more of an atmosphere place than food place. Dude, there's a motherfucking coral tree in there. So if you've ever had the desire to sit under a tree and get wasted, here's your place (and you won't be alone, making it all that much less loserish).

The cocktails were good, except that they came in plastic drinkware (hella tacky, yo!). The food was just ok. I had the goat cheese ravioli, which was fine, if not a little bland. The dude had the beef bourguignon with mashed potatoes, which he seemed to enjoy. We also shared a cheese flatbread--loved the cheese (gouda, goat, pecorino, and something else) but the crust was slightly undercooked and doughy.

The service was great; we were asked several times how our food was or if we needed anything. It did take a long ass time to get our food though (like an hour for flatbread?), but it wasn't our server's fault, and he was very apologetic.

I'd return for a drink, and possibly for the food once the restaurant gets into the full swing of things. I just hope it doesn't become a hipster hangout, which seems inevitable given the location. Fucking hipsters, man... Ruining LA--one neighborhood at a time.

The whole downstairs & upstairs area was not that great or comfortable. The bartender was super nice but my champagne drink off their drink menu was terrible. My friend got a glass of red wine which was awful as well. But the bartender made good by giving us different drinks.
Honestly, this seemed like it was a gay bar, at least, the night we went.   Which is fine if that is your thing. But two hetero single ladies..not so much. :)

If I had to sum up my experience: I walked in not knowing what to expect, and I walked out thinking that this is my new spot.

If I had to elaborate: I came up to Rockwell VT with just a faint glimmer of what would roll out as my Wednesday evening. All I had to shove me along on this quest was a LA Times article and a friend nipping at my heals to "check it out" with him.

"A Wednesday night bar night?" I moaned. I have to wake up early, I have work the next day, I'm trying to lose weight in my belly, I wanna watch Friends reruns - the excuses poured out. Ultimately, it was all in vein: the pull of the previously mentioned elements plus my own personal curiosity drove us right into the valet.

"Parking, that's cool." I thought, though if I was driving I probably would have meddled with street parking to save the $5 the valet demands. Parking on Vermont is definitely a "oh god, just pay the damned $5 already" kind of neighborhood - thick in No Vacancy sign laden apartment buildings with little to no parking - so this spot actually having parking is a definite +1 star kind of operation.

Walking into RVT I started getting worried - financially worried. Is this spot going to break the bank? I mean, as you walk into the bar off of the alley that is neighboring the Starbucks (which is cool, by the by - the fact that you have to get into this spot via the back alley behind Vermont) you literally step from pothole hell onto a luxuriously decorated entrance. "ROCKWELL vt" the über-hip sign greets you, the "vt" all smaller and confusing. "Get in here and spend your money, bitch" it also says, between the lines.

Much to my shock the drinks weren't that expensive. $10 for their specialty bevs - not bad. AND they were strong and good: a definite plus. I ordered the "fancy name/fancy fruit" drink, and was quite happy with it. Then I got a mojito and was just stoked.

Now, the ambiance of Rvt (I should keep the vt all small and confusing) is not just good, but PERFECT. it's two stories, and all of it's outside, basically. And its beautiful. They did not cut any corners here, that's for sure. There are two stories of outdoors-y lounging - so spread out. Apparently the top deck (yes - DECK!) has a sweet fireplace in the weekend evenings, so leave your parka at home. Bum out they opened it up in late summer / early autumn, this place would be perfect for a sticky August night under the stars. Oh well, better late than never.

Smokers: bring your cartons, this place is very smoker-friendly. And thank god. Seems like everywhere is joining the bandwagon of "eff you smokers", when - I mean, let's be honest here - a bar is the BEST place to have a smoke or fifteen.

To those who had a rough time with service: You must be rude and you haven't figured it out yet. I got nothing but top-notch service from friendly waiters and smiling bartenders.

If I have to end with a closing paragraph: Rockwell vt mixes a comfortable stylized outdoor ambiance with a surprisingly friendly Los Angeles flair at a reasonable price. Five stars all the way.

Drive home safe, yall!

Rockwell, you think you are New York, but I can did it, you are a swanky spot. Hidden behind Vermont restaurant, my LA friends (who hadn't heard of Rockwell yet) thought I was super cool as I strolled them up to the giant tree. Rockwell is open air and despite being PACKED, feels spacious and pleasant. The tree in the middle is pretty awesome, its a great, big beauty of a tree and feel like you are in a fort if you go to the second level of the bar and stare down at it. From the second level you can get a nice bird's eye view of the area, it's a bit romantic. There is a nook for parties in the back and the tables lining the rails that allow you to look down or out are nurtured by heat lamps. Also, my cucumber martini was pretty good.

Downsides, it's for beautiful people. It's loud, it's packed, it's for the fabulous- so go when you want to feel fabulous. Usually I prefer a place with more space, cheaper, tastier drinks and a lower volume level, but Rockwell is worth trying out- I won't put it past anyone to make it their new go-to spot; it's probably a keeper.

3.5 stars. This place just opened so i'll be nice. =)

besides the extreme lack of A/C and air circulation, the bar/lounge area was really nice. great layout and decor. 1/2 indoor, 1/2 outdoor seating. the ambiance was pretty with dim lights and a big tree in the courtyard area.

the food was surprisingly good. we had flat bread veggie pizza, goat cheese ravioli, fried blue cheese salad and grilled cheese sammies w/ tomato bisque soup. everything was really tasty. simple food w/ strong flavors. i liked it. portions were nice. flat bread pizza could easily feed 2-3 ppl. everything else was tapas style and perfect for sharing. prices were a little higher than average but not too bad. drinks were stiff. =)

our waiter was super busy and didn't come around too much. drinks came too slow. hehe. had to remind them a few times. they messed up on our order but the mess up was in our favor. they made two extra dishes and just gave it to us on the house.

everyone was complaining about how hot it was. ppl were sweating in this place at 9pm.

i would come back again for cocktails and apps. staff was friendly. we got a lost when we arrived b/c there were several entry ways to get in. there was no hostess so we just wandered around until someone escorted us to our table. they seemed a little disorganized but again, i know they just opened so everything will come together in time. hopefully.

While, at first glance, the interior looks great, after we were seated we noticed that wall panels were slipping, cushions were cheesy with excessive pleather details, etc. But, the worst part was being served drinks in PLASTIC glasses. The very nice waitress explained that it was because of breakage - a price of having a bar business - as well as this being a more 'casual' lounge. Puhleeze. Even the worst dives don't use plastic. The feel of the plastic as we tasted our drinks was startling and awful. The very nice waitress changed our drinks to glasses. But this is inexcusable...insulting to patrons, and cheesy to go along with the faux elegance. Weird decision especially now that cocktails are the trend, you'd think that they would want to present them in the best possible way. Oh well. Next.

Pro: Two stories of open air space
Con: Unwanted cigar and cigarette smoke

Pro: Hot foreign waiters

Pro: Yummy tapas

Pro: Yummy cocktails
Con: Skimpy on the alcohol
Con: Your typical $10-$15 cocktail

Pro: Right next to the Vermont, walking distance from the House of Pies, walking distance to the Dresden, Pinkberry and Fred 62.
Con: Crowd was not your typical Los Feliz/Silverlake folks but more of the dress-to-impress Hollywood type.

We only stayed for an hour and walked to the Dresden and hung out with other misfits.  Felt right at home :P

Nice ambience, but too trendy for my liking. Some say the drinks aren't that badly priced - but they're still expensive. It's like a Hollywood-scenester bar in Los Feliz.

I LOVE the tree in the middle of the bar and the different levels, but what's with the guys in suits with earpieces walking around like it's a high class club? I can't figure it out. One server will pull up an extra chair for you, but another won't serve you just drinks at the circular tables by the bar (food's just served there? but why can you sit there if you can't order food?). Seems a bit chaotic. Still, might be back. Perhaps when I have more cash to burn?

PS. There is low lighting, which is a plus. Goes along with that whole ambience thing.

First time here and I would give it a solid 4.5 stars.  Came here for a birthday party and reserved a table for 15.  They put us back in the corner by the bathroom exit, but we had our own little area, so it was nice, but a bit tight.  We had top service.  I swear the waitress was back to our table before I even needed drinks and was VERY attentive and was a fun girl.  The drinks are priced fairly for a place like this and the food was actually really good.  Everyone loved the mini tacos and the kobe sliders with grilled onion marmalade and blue cheese fondue were spectacular!   I would definitely go back.  The upstairs area is nice too.  I loved the outdoor atmosphere.  There was a nice mixed crowd.

One drawback is no beer on draught.  They are new and brunch is supposedly starting this Sunday.  May have to check it out.

Was here on a Tuesday night with my cousin, just stopped in rather early (8PM-ish) to have a drink or two. OK, after reading all the reviews, LA Times Brand X etc. i was expecting to be blown away by the pretty lighted tree the joint is built around...but alas, it was just a fucking tree. It wasn't lit in any way, so the space felt rather bland...loft-like and sparse. We were sent upstairs rather than down (possibly because there wwas some type of private party on the lower level?) and immediately grabbed a table by the railing. First thing I notice is there's no bar up there: just a tiny, kitchen-nook-like space tucked into a corner. Personally, I wasn't impressed, as I like to be able to walk over to the bar as opposed to having to flag down a scene-y waiter to get my drinks, but what-ev.

I order a margaritalike concoction from their chichi-froufrou drink list, and it arrives IN A PLASTIC GLASS -WTF- tasting a LOT like perfume. *retch* The waiter (cute, thin, probably gay) seems to anticipate its wretchedness & immediately says BEFORE I think to order something new, he'll comp it & swap it out for something else, in my case, a simple Cosmo. (Figure they can't fuck up a cosmo!) My guest orders an Apple martini, which she says is fine despite being mostly apple pucker & very little vodka. 2nd drink order is their signature champagne cocktail (also not very good...I blame the mixologist for the odd recipes), and a shot of Southern Comfort for my cousin. I also order from the kitchen, the grilled cheese sandwich & roasted heirloom tomato soup appetizer. While we wait, both of us, one by one, run to the ladies room and return to our table HORRIFIED. WHY does that restroom smell like old FISH? No ventilation, either...twas literally the WORST stench ever. Oh GOD, girls, let this be a reminder to WASH YO ASS. Whomever stunk the Rockwell ladies room up that night will be lucky if she's ever been eaten out in her life, because GOT DAMN that was NOT a pleasant aroma. Soap! Water! USE IT!!

Off-rant. so sry. :(

Twenty minutes later, the SoCo shot arrives on the rocks, not as a shot. Oops. We don't complain, as Hot Gay Waiter feels bad to have messed up, & we are just glad to be slowly recovering from the Eau de Fish Market restroom. Cuz just scoops out the ice from the SoCo & gulps. Yay! Then, ANOTHER TWENTY MINUTES LATER (yes, seriously) the sandwich comes out....but is a PIZZA, deconstructed: tomato soup as sauce, melted cheddar, plus assorted greenery on a flatbread crust. Wha?? How did an order for 'grilled cheese' get translated into 'grilled cheese flatbread pizza' in their kitchen?  It wasn't what we ordered, but we were buzzing & hungry so I said, "Hey, we'll try it & if it doesn't suck, we won't worry about it". One bite and it was CLEAR we were eating the adult version of Chef Boyardee Ravioli In a Can. OMFG, the sauce was tres' Spaghetti-Oh's. BLECH! we sent it back, got our toasty lil' grilled cheese triangles & soup ramekin (VERY good might I add) and chalked the whole night up to the staff still working out kinks since they'd only been officially open about 6 weeks.

On the good side, though: the waiters (all of them male, toned and again, probably gay) were VERY friendly and very apologetic when things weren't perfect. The music was good...in a remix-heavy techno-ey Lady Gaga/Solange Knowles/Asian rock from the 2Fast2Furious soundtrack kinda way. And the parking was hella easy, being that the valet was only $5.

Would I go there again? Err...sure. Just later in the week, later in the evening, and AFTER I had eaten somewhere else beforehand. Oh, and I'd stick to simple drinks...none of their house concoctions again. (Perfuuuuume margarita! ICK!)

Yet another Thrillist recommendation, tried out Rockwell 2 weeks ago in attempt to get out of the valley and head somewhat over to the eastside. This is a new place that definetly needs some time to work out the kinks. I didnt realize how knew it was until we saw the grand opening party flyers plastered all over the place for Oct 3rd??

The outdoor area is great, especially the upper floor where you are surrounded by the gorgeous tree, but outside of the atmosphere things start to go down hill.

Flighty wait staff, okay to decent and overpriced food (however the shrimp skewers are good), but plan on sharing a lot of small plates or head over to Fred 62 after because you will still be hungry.

Now I didnt have a specialty cocktail which seems to be the highlight of Rockwell, so I really cant comment on the drinks since all I had was white wine, so serve and pour from a bottle, anyone can do that.

I'd go back, but probably just for the drinks and I'll give it another month or two until they work through their newness.

The recently opened lounge, Rockwell, is in Los Feliz area of Los Angeles, which is becoming more eclectic and cool.  Hidden in the back of a restaurant with no sign, you wouldn't know that there was a  lounge in the back.

I was looking for a place to go, when I saw the listings of new places in the LA weekly.  The LA Weekly also listed it as one of the top ten romantic venues as well.  I'm always on the look out for new bars and lounges in LA, that are not necessarily in Hollywood or Santa Monica.  I like the Los Feliz and the Downtown LA areas, they seem to be less crowded and offer a better crowd.

Being that its fairly new, doesn't mean it isn't crowded already.  It seems people have already discovered this place and news travels fast.  The valet parking, located in the back, was already filled to capacity at 10:15pm on a Saturday night.  I guess arriving fashionably late, won't matter if you can't find parking in LA.  Luckily, I found a great spot on the street on the same block.

As I mentioned before, there is no real signage on Vermont except a foldup word board pointing to valet parking in the back.  We hesitated in entering through the front of what we thought was just the restaurant.  We weren't sure if we were invading a nice place with a small bar in the back, called Rockwell. The restaurant was dimly lit place and looked as if they had a small jazz band with a singer on one side.  I opened the front and quietly & quickly ask where was the lounge.

Luckily, we were at the right place, as the waiter pointed us down the hall, right behind him.  Not sure what to expect, not even from the pictures from other Yelpers, we scurried down the hall into a open night sky in the festive courtyard of Rockwell.  There is a large tree with little hanging lanterns creating an ambient scene.  Though it was crowded, it didn't feel like a typical hollywood elbow to elbow night.  The crowd is a bit more mature with the DJ playing hip hop, R&B, and pop throughout the night.

We were also fortunate, with good parking, to grab two stools right at the bar.  Things went well tonight.  On top of that, they had my favorite Gin - Tanqueray Rangpur.

The bar had a large lit bookshelf that went all the way to the raised ceilings.  They put all their top shelf liquor along with wines on this shelf. I should have glanced at their wine list, since I am beginning to look at more wines.  The drinks were fine, except i noticed that we had clear plastic glasses.  I thought it was kinda weird to be using these unbreakable glasses at a nice place like this.

The cool area is the upstairs lounge.  As you walk up the stairs to the open 2nd floor, it circles around the big tree in the middle.  High tables with stools allow small groups to enjoy this big tree.  Then toward the back there's small ramp leading up a private group area where the views extend out toward Los Angeles' skyline.  This second floor area make this place an ideal date place.

At the end, I think I would come here again.  Its a good place to bring a small group.  I'd try to get there early for parking.  And I would avoid weekends, and try to go during the week.  It was a good night at Rockwell.

Good space with a warm ambiance. Decent food. Great, friendly service. I didn't really get the "Hollywood" vibe that others are speaking about-- it felt pretty casual and easygoing to me. Drinks were alright, though they had the potential to be amazing. In relation to other places available, though... at the price point and all things considered, I'd give this place 4 stars. If they brought the drinks up a notch and gave me a little more food, I might consider 5.

I came here during the soft opening.  the space is really beautiful.

Think trees, wood, open air and a second floor observation deck.(which, unfortuntately, was not open when I went - dang!)

I have been hearing that Vermont was going to open a space behind the restaurant for quite some time now, and this place is worth the wait - well, looks wise.

There are definitely opening kinks that need to be worked out (i.e. service was slow and the bartender was very confused as to what they had and they ran out of wine glasses) but this can all be easily fixed.

I wish that this place had opened in the summer, the outdoor patio seems like a nice place to enjoy a cold beer, glass of wine or cocktail.

Either way, check it out.

the place looks amazing. it's really unique and i'm very glad it's in los feliz.

the tequila cocktail was nice. the food was great.

i really hope they ditch the acrylic tumblers. they feel cheap. but i guess they'd rather not clean up broken glass from a high heel stumble on the stairs.

it appears to be frequented by old, white folks with money. but that's los feliz for ya.

and yea, the music was pretty lame. fix that and i'll be really happy.

went here on the 2nd night.
its really really nice. the bar is convenient, there are lots of places to sit, lounging areas, and the upstairs eating/drinking area is so relaxing. very airy and sophisticated but mellow at the same time.
our food took a ridiculously long time, but it was the 2nd night, so what do you expect?
when the food finally came, it was great. the frisee salad with the poached egg and blue cheese = win. i had the spicy ahi tuna mini tacos and also the filet tacos. it was just enough food.
the tequila cocktail that they have was so good, i slurped that down and walked out feeling great. we got these for free because the food took a little long.
the owner came to us to apologize for the wait and offered us free drinks.. he was very personable and polite.
i have a feeling that this place is going to thrive immensely and be very popular and successful.

i thought this place was easy to find my friends did not so i think the most important piece of info to find the bar is that its connected to the vermont restaurant so if you walk through the vermont restaurant and out the back door you're in the bar.

i got to the bar a bit before my girlfriends to check the place out very cute its on three out door levels which is perfect for a warm night. its pretty much first come first serve seating. the drinks were good nothing amazing but quite delicious.

all in all a great time was had by all i'm sure ill be back :)

Woah, what is this place doing in my neighborhood? It's an amazing bar right behind Vermont that the owners of Vermont concocted and it's excellent.  I followed a buddy over here and immediately knew it was going to be a classic place.  Amazing specialty drinks abound and the crowd was really cool.  I'm not sure how this place will turn out, being so beautiful and expansive I am worried that douchyness will set in but fingers crossed for an awesome clientele.

Cool space, but feels antiseptic and brand new, like a sitcom set decorated with Pier 1 furniture. The clubby music didn't help. The cocktails were okay, but served in plasticware, which is very cheap. You can't charge real cocktail prices and serve them in pool party plasticware, it's just bad form. The bill for two cocktails, tuna taco appetizers, and french fries was $45, so it's not cheap. And in terms of the vibe, it's a little Hollywood Boys Town. At the end of the day, not for me.

Awesome space, yes.  Love the tree that the bar is built around and the open space.  Service? not to much.  Super slow (not just normal slow), confused wait staff, 30min to get the check, messing up on the bill, not being able to provide an itemized receipt...must i go on?  I know this place is new and so im willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.  I think i would come back if i was in the area.  If service is better at that time i will definitely update this review.

Absolutely fantastic location!  So many different areas to explore, it's like the bar that keeps on giving.  You could come here a few times a week and have almost a completely different, but visually appealing, aesthetic experience.  The food and drinks were exceptional.

Has some serious kinks to work out. My friends and I love Vermont so we were very excited to hear they had opened up an outdoor/atrium style multi level bar out back... It is beautiful. No doubt.
Alas...we were looking forward to trying the latest  in gastro pub style food..... boooooo...we never got the chance. There were 6 of us, all hungry, all looking to spend A LOT of money on food and drinks. Do you think the staff could be bothered to find us a table or put us on some sort of a LIST to get a table? Negative. They don't do reservations, fine, its a bar, I get that. HOWEVER they do reservations for parties over 10. WTF? When we called to try and get reservations, no one mentioned the fact that if we wrestle up 4 more people, we would get priority seating.  What evs, but no list? Seriously? Am I supposed to bird-dog all night for a table so I can eat some Kobe sliders? .....sigh.....

The food here looks awesome. It's too bad I will likely never have the patience to experience it. Combine no reservations, not enough tables and no waiting list for seating and what do you get? A lot of over dressed people standing around trying to beat each other to seats. Sound like you idea of a good time? Enjoy.

I went here last night for an opening party for friends and family.  It was great!  Beautiful space, and good drinks.  Finger food appetizers were passed around, and they were great.  If that's a sign of the food and drinks to be served I will frequent this place often.  Love the space.  Very well done!

nice spot with good decor, excellent and friendly service, tasty appetizers and a chill atmosphere (but went there on a thursday night, so maybe that's why).  everyone from the bus boy to the bartender was super nice, which always makes the experience better--that's the 5th star.

After learning on the phone that Rockwell doesn't take reservations, we were surprised to find every vacant table reserved upon our arrival.  We were then told they will take reservations for parties of 10 or more (we were 6).  Understandable...but wait...why is this 4-topper reserved?  By this time we'd finished our 2nd round of drinks and were pretty hungry and pretty much over Rockwell.  The food on the menu did look really good-too bad I won't be back to try it.  The seating/no reservations thing is just idiotic.  It's one thing to hover and pounce on a table people are leaving in a place like the Public House across the street, but in a bar like Rockwell, it just feels juvenile.
