To echo what was said in it's first review, it certainly is an OLD SCHOOL bowling alley.  It is in need of an update, but aside from that, the lanes work well (most of the time), and the scoring system, although dated, is still better than pencil and paper (or does anyone remember that transparencies that they used in some bowling lanes years ago?)

This is also a great bowling alley for those interested in joining a weekly or/and summer league.  They have a number of different leagues to choose from (mixed, men's, 80% handicap, etc.), and the people are very nice.

Also, this has been the home to the last two birthdays for my little boy -- he loves to bowl -- although not fancy by any means, the party room was sufficient for 20+ kids and parents, and the coffee shop offers a choice of food for the kids (all for $16 a kid).  And -- MOST IMPORTANT -- it made my little boy happy.

Ew.  RVC Lanes is in desperate need of an overhaul.  Everything from the Commodore 64 computer monitor scoring system to the stinky 1970's vintage rentable shoes need to be replaced.  The only bowling balls available are too small for even a 5 year old to fit their tiny fingers into or are way too big.  It packs quite a crowd, though, because it's the only bowling alley in Southwest Nassau county.  Last night, some dipshit we were sharing lanes with somehow mysteriously got a pin stuck in the ball return and it took them forever to get it out, which in turn, held up our game.  They had 2 awkward teenage boys with power tools take apart the lane which I found rather interesting/disturbing.

The concession area looks untouched since 1965 as do the lockers and general decor of the alley.  The lighting is too bright and there is no music.   Just the sound of the high-fiving motherfuckers in the lane next to you, slapping each others asses every time one of them knocks a pin down.  It's also VERY expensive ($17 for a game).  If you live in the VS/Lynbrook area, take a few extra minutes out of your life and travel to Garden City, instead.  If you're as lazy as I am, then Wii bowling just may be a better idea than coming here.

Old school bowling alley.

RVC Lanes is one of those bowling alley's that made some sort of half way transition into modern times but then maybe ran out of money.

The place is well lit and the games are computerized but they computer system is reminiscent of an old Atari system- the graphics are pretty cheesy - they look like they are done on a PC with Paintbrush or something.

The bar is old and under utilized - but they do serve beer and the worlds tiniest drinks if you so desire.

The lanes are fine and you can bowl a decent game here so long as you are not expecting any frills.

Parking out back.
