11 reviews for Rocco's Grill
I've been to Rocco's Grill several time, and I like it so much, I had my wedding reception there, and just returned for my first year anniversary dinner.
There's something very unpretentious about Rocco's, although their food is outstanding and in my opinion, top quality. Their food is flavorful (Filet Minon is outstanding), and unique. I never knew breaded and lightly fried green beans were so good!
The waitstaff has always been very friendly, and very helpful. They help in picking out wines, dinners, and are very attentive without being bothersome.
The location is eccentric and fun. Inside is decorated in mosaics and is quite nice, but I always eat outside in the terrace. It has a great view of a golf course, an amazing sub-division in the hillside, and a nice little lake. It's very comfortable, although a bit loud due to the large fans that are cooling the terrace.
Overall, a fantastic place to eat, I recommend the Spicy Pecan Salad, the Filet Minon, and the Rack of Lamb. All top choices. All in All, it's not super cheap, but I think it's worth the price.
This is a great little spot for lunch or dinner in Lakeway, where the options are limited. I have always enjoyed my food, including the time that I got it to go. The sandwich I had was good on my last visit, and my guests also liked their meals.
Located in a strip mall just off of 620 as you enter Lakeway from the North. The staff is very friendly. There is a great view from the patio.
The food is delicious, the staff is gracious and the atmosphere very nice. Everyone I have taken there has had a wonderful time. They have heaters on the patio for the winter but I much prefer to eat in the dining room. There is a lovely room in the back where it is quieter. There tends to be a lot of background noise due to the concrete floors.
Average Italian food and mediocre wine. Not sure why this place is getting 4 star reviews.
Rocco's Grill is a great little Lakeway gem tucked away in a shopping center best known for Starbucks. I peaked my eye in the window here several times in the early AM before I ever got to taste the food. The walls are painted with crazy pictures - that was my first impression. So, I was expecting Creole or Cajun food..
Once I finally got to eat here I was impressed with the great patio that overlooks a creek or river (not sure of the water source) and a golf course. The Grilled Shrimp on skewers with vegetables and spicy tomato sauce and the Salmon with Capers are my favorites. The seafood entrees come with rice but you can substitute garlic mashed potatoes if you ask. I highly recommend the garlic mashed taters...
For lunch the Tomato Basil Soup is a must try and the Panini sandwiches are pretty darn good.
Echo what everyone else says. This is far better than average. A place that seems to care about what it puts on your plate and a menu that wasn't designed by a corporate survey.
The view is wonderful. It's facing a lake.
The food is OK. Very family type. A lot of kids around. Very loud.
With so many slim choices out in the boons of Beecave and Lakeway, Rocco's has been a welcome addition for years.
The food has always been consistent and tasty. Some recommendations: House salad with blue cheese crumbles and spicy pecans- add grilled shrimp. The chicken picatta, marsala and lucia are all very delicious- the picatta is the best. Their pizzas are cracker thin and fabulous!! Also try the Bella Bacci which are shrimp wrapped in cheese, jalapeno and bacon served hot off the grill. The lasagna is hearty and delicious.
My only complaint is that sometimes the service is quite slow and incompetent. Pretty typical of this area as it is very hard to find good help due to the lack of affordable housing. This results in a lot of slacker young adults who still live at home in Costa Bella but must have a job. Case in point, the last time we visited it was a Sunday night and the place wasn't even half full. The dingbat hostess proceeded to take my husband and I to the back room where they had a large table filled with women doing a book reading. I commented that this was a strange table selection and she just ignored us and left. When we requested a different table from our very competent waiter, Raymond, she was standing a few feet away rolling her eyes and obviously talking about us. I'm pretty sure the owner, Rocky Piazza wouldn't be too pleased to hear about that. Luckily Raymond was fantastic and concurred that the hostess is an empty headed trog. Who seats a couple on a dinner date next to 15 loud women in a book club in a tiny room???
Went here the other night for my best friends mothers birthday dinner, she was celebrating that whole week haha. Anyway, I ordered the Margherita pizza and i was very pleased. The crust was very thin and delicious. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food as well. I'm now a fan and i will be going back. Our waiter was very nice as well.
This past Saturday night my girlfriend and I went out for a dinner. We walked in Rocco's around 7 pm expecting a long wait yet the restaurant was less than half full. I ordered the sea bass and she ordered chicken pasta. The sea bass was an excellent choice. The side green beans and mixed veggies were delicious. Kimberly enjoyed the pasta, and believe me she isn't an easy sell. The stuffed jap kisses for an appetizers were fantastic. The bread (fresh hot and delicious, made daily) they bring to your table with the special herbs and virgin olive oil to dip is outstanding. I will be back soon. And by the way , our server did an excellent job.. the tip was worth 20% + in my book.
Happy Hour Bellinis are my FAVORITE! YUMMY! The Salmon is my FAVORITE! Their bread is good too and I never leave hungry and the service is always VERY GOOD! I love that in a place!
