San Jose, CA

Now I'm not a smoker, in fact I think it's pretty gross and pointless, but for some reason here it just seems right. The atmosphere is great; it feels like you have stepped back in time. The owner is really friendly, helpful, and very easy to talk to. If you like a comfortable atmosphere, the smell of cigars, and the taste of a cigar, come here, you will not be disappointed. This is hands down one of the best places in downtown San Jose.

while looking for this place, i was almost runned over by one of s.j.'s trains since i didn't know they existed. since i'm typing this, you know this is hype.
i had parked in front of the store and didn't know it. the sign read: "woodruff and trout, twiced read books". there are steel grates in front of the windows. i noticed a cigar box and the sign "closed"
on the door.
it was dimly lit inside. i saw my objects of desire, a cigar case in the far corner. joe, the attending cashier was very friendly and helpful in advising me to try the paragus maduro(13.95) and the onyx reserve(9.75) he helped me cut the 'gars. there were many fine mid to high end 'gars in the case.
i sat for awile in the black leather chairs, so comfy! i was informed they are opened till 12.
in the coming years, the city may approve a proper sign for them.
i will definitely be back.
This place ROCKS! We stumbled upon Rocco's late one night after meeting with some friends downtown. I used to frequent the bookstore that used to occupy this space, so I was curious to see what the new place looked like. I really like what they have done with the place. They put in wooden floors, and brown suede curtains from ceiling to floor. There are oversized leather chairs and couches. I liked the vintage music player and fire place. It was nice to relax, smoke, and watch old movies for a while. Service was excellent. We were treated like old friends from the moment we walked in. I can't wait to return!

This place is pretty cool, man.
I use to walk by this place every night before work, and I'd peer in. Most nights there were classic movies on the wall, and the feel was loungey. Not ultra-loungey, thank God (how friggin' many does San Jose need?), but Frank Sinatra lounge-esque. The smell of sweet cigar smoke permeates the air, and instantly it takes you back to your grandfather smoking a nice cigar while barbecuing Italian sausage. No? You guys don't remember my grandfather smoking a cigar and barbecuing?
I finally stop in, and Joe is awesome. Very knowledgeable about cigars, and even what cognac you should drink with them. It's a great place to go if you want to be downtown and people watch, but be a bit covert and chill.
4 stars only because I don't smoke cigars. I'll be back to get my Godfather a cigar for Jesus' birthday, and I wouldn't be surprised if I upped it a star.

Active CHILL MODE the moment u step into this place!!!! Comfy lounge chairs and couches... very dark inside.. a very nice assortment of cigars.... old black and white movies when u walk in... and u DON'T feel as though u are supposed to know someone in there once u walk in... I've been too trendy places where they make u feel like ohh we don't know u so u don't belong..well NOT this place.
I forgot the guys name that helped me pick out a cigar.. but he was knowlegable! Made us all feel very comfortable...and um.. I can't blast what else makes u feel comfortable in there.. cause I don't think they want the whole world to know... but go and experience it for urself and u will NOT be disssappointed if u are an avid cigar toaker!
;o)
