Stayed at the Robinhood Inn this past weekend and was a little disappointed. Apparently, they had a acquired another OLD motel called "The Wishing Well". I have had shoe boxes larger than this room, circa 1940.  It was so small, they didn't  have room for a closet. No bathroom counter space either.
On the positive side, it did have cable TV and was right next to Big Bear Village so you can walk to the shops and/or bars.
The rest of the Inn looked much nicer and newer. Why I got relegated to the old "Wishing Well" building I'm not sure. I'll give it another try in the future and make sure I ask for the newer building.

1 STAR-fairly priced, clean, comfortable, nicely appointed rooms
1 STAR-convenient location
1 STAR-amenities...good parking lot, large hot tub, cable TV

I've stayed here a couple of times when I've come up to Bear to snowboard.  It's fairly priced and conveniently located, but the reason I stay here is because I like to get one of the rooms that walks out onto the patio where the hot tub is.  

While this might not be something you think YOU need...a room that is stumbling distance to the hot tub, that is...I can assure you that at the close of a day when you have been learning to land certain jumps (read: spending the day on your ass), you will be appreciative of having to 1) NOT walk upstairs to get to your room  2) be situated as close to the parking lot as possible, so you don't have to drag all your gear too far, and 3) ambulate as little as possible once you have dragged all your stuff from the car into the room. (NOTE:  NEVER leave your thousands of dollars worth of hard gear in your car at a hotel overnight...you're just asking for it to be stolen)  

Robinhood Inn has a Sherwood Forrest like ambiance and decor...hence the name...and the beds are super comfy.  Rooms are decently appointed and clean, and there is cable if you can stay awake long enough to watch it.  Not me, though...my body has some serious repair and muscle re-building to do overnight....
